Sons of Anarchy was a pretty good TV show. It doesn’t deserve to get dragged into this because of this guy’s T-shirt.

Not as sketchy as claiming the media are not releasing his name because he isn’t white. As you like to say:

“ouch. how inconvenient to the narrative.”

its kind of sketchy when the media takes the time to blur the face of the suspect in pictures and videos that arent shot from the back of his head.

Did this really need to be news in Japan?

World section, my friend.

Thankfully they're weren't more injured, or worse. Hope the victims pull through.

People keep trying to find a race or lockdown issue, conspiracies that his name is withheld because he isn’t white or that it’s an immigrant terrorist or that it’s lockdown cabin fever.

All indications now are that it was a white male high on something.

Lockdown fever?

Hopefully this isn't another domestic terrorist action by another extremest immigrant .

It appears not to be.

I'd like the police to make their minds in Australia and NZ

If someone steps in to help their deemed

"Vigilantes braking the law" not "courageous acts by bystanders".

Hopefully this isn't another domestic terrorist action by another extremest immigrant .

They said some brave shoppers had tried to stop the man and pin him down.

Correction; the shoppers DID stop the perpetrator by jumping on him and pinning him down. I would have been very surprised if they hadn't done that in New Zealand.

A high level Police officer in NZ with international experience once commented that NZ was one of the only countries where people would run toward an incident, so they could render assistance.

Must've had some kind of motivation to walk into a supermarket with two knives. My guess is it was someone with mental health issues who didn't like one of the staff there. Scary.

Just speculating - but I hope I am wrong. It could be someone from the extreme right trying to undermine Ardern's policies. A brainwashed Islamist or someone with mental health issues. Let's hope the investigation brings the truth to light.

Someone commented that it wasn't a gun incident, but it's very easy to Google and find that gun crime is on the rise in NZ, especially in relation to gangs, whose numbers are also on the rise.

Some people still cannot get over Labour's thumping electoral victory, as well as Arderns popularity, and will grasp at any tiny straws. Sad individuals, I guess.

What an odd thing to say! This is in the World News Section. And even though NZ is right down their at the bottom of the planet, it is still part of the world, right? Do you want this hidden because you are scared Japanese tourists won't go to NZ or because you think their will be copycat killings in Japan?

Hopefully it won't inspire any copycats. Did this really need to be news in Japan?

@Chelsea gun laws have been tightened a lot after the Christchurch incident.

On the rise from what, to what?

No dozens dead by bullets. Hmm.

Horrific. The heroic bystanders deserve recognition.
