It was Colorado's worst mass shooting since a gunman killed 10 people at a Boulder supermarket March 22

In most other countries this would be the worst mass shooting in decades. In yeehaw land it’s only the worst in Colorado in 7 weeks. Lunacy.

Again....how many more people hace to die to stop this f....amendment ?!!

10 ( +15 / -5 )

NRA must die.

17 ( +21 / -4 )

Whatever reason he had left in him, it was enough to let the children live.

Another blackout.

The worst mass shooting in almost two whole months!

The worst mass shooting in almost two whole months!

This sums it up. Not even in the whole country - just in one state.

Regular life isn't news.

Another mental case.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Just another day in the USA.

Authorities say the children, who weren’t hurt in the attack, have been placed with relatives.

Please don't say the children were unharmed...

Highlight the mass murders but ignore daily innercity murders. Which has a higher death toll and which happens more often?

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Which has a higher death toll and which happens more often?

Uh, they both happen everyday. They both happen all too often. Are we only supposed to be upset about a shooting when it's perpetrated by a gang member?

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Tragic. Seems like some emotional issue.

‘in the meantime, for example

https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2021/5/8/22426075/chicago-weekend-shootings-may-7-10-gun-violence-homicide-crime

which is just one of many. Similar in cities across the country

and all illegal firearms.

The U.S. has a lot of mental health issues. The COVID lockdowns have unintended consequences (or are they?).

Japan has the best COVID approach. Protect the vulnerable, but allow normal people to live their life, don’t treat them like animals.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Uh, they both happen everyday.

Mass murders everyday in the U.S.? Wow!

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

It was Colorado's worst mass shooting since a gunman killed 10 people at a Boulder supermarket March 22.

This really says a lot about how messed up that country is. Its not even the worst mass shooting in this one state in the past two months.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

This shows you actual stats. Mass shootings are a tiny fraction of all gun deaths in the US. All of which are tragic, but…….

Mass murders everyday in the U.S.? Wow!

Yeah. They do.

Come on, guys, it's not about guns. He could have done the exact same thing with a package of Doritoes as long as he had the intent, and then killed himself by shoving them all in his mouth at the same time. I mean, it simply can't be about guns. We 70 gun massacres in four weeks in every country, not just the US. Well, okay, sure, nations with any kind of real gun laws only see one 30,000ndth of the gun deaths the US has, butt hat doesn't PROVE anything.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Classifying the firearms as legal vs, illegal has nothing to do with how they are being misused by people who should not have access to firearms in the first place.

Wakarimasen

and all illegal firearms.

whatmakes you think all inner city shootings are by a gang member? What planet are you on?

what do you think OP meant by "inner city?" Do you think he meant domestic violence? That certainly doesn't happen in only inner cities.

US is one serious mentally fracked up nation, probably the worst in the world, or it has a serious gun problem

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Does the current President of the United States or the political party in control of ALL branches of government have any responsibility at all for the nearly daily mass shootings?

not really, takes 2/3 majority in the senate to change the constitution, theres one party that will never vote to amend gun rights in the US and it certainly isnt the democrats. Even the president has limited powers when it come to the constitution

Another person with an illness problem, when can we sit down and seriously talk about this issue on how to address mental illness and the care or lack of that could prevent people getting their hands on a firearm. Sad for everyone involved. RIP

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

@ bass4funk

At any time someone who doesn't have a mental illness problem could be sent over the edge,be it marriage breakdown or job loss or any tiny thing. They have a gun at hand they start a'shootin.Stop deflecting with your mental illness bs.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Good job, Boulder! 3 months without a mass shooting! Is that something to be proud about? How about banning the sales of guns to maniacs? That’s a pipe dream. Then how about banning the sale of firearms to guys with an inferiority complex and a small D**k who have had their feelings hurt by women?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

when can we sit down and seriously talk about this issue on how to address mental illness and the care or lack of that could prevent people getting their hands on a firearm

When? You do it every time this happens.

But now is not the time for gun control laws to be revised, oh no, it’s too raw, time for healing and reflection before we tackle legislation and..:.oh no, another mass shooting. The worlds trajectory is downhill. Its out of control. Just watching it burn everyday. Another day.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

You’re jumping to conclusions

No, the people that want to abolish guns and the 2nd amendment are the irrational ones, sadly.

This is the real tragedy stemming from conservatives wish to have free access to firearms. I cannot begin to imagine the terror and confusion these children felt, or the amount of time and effort it will take for them to recover. All of this because conservatives are afraid of their shadows so need guns

Again, we both don’t know the circumstances, having the need for a gun and there are many has nothing to do with this tragic incident.

and, of course, BUT, THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!!!

Yes.

When you’re not immediately told the ethnicity of the alleged perp, you know straight away who it’s highly likely not to be.

bass4funk: "Another person with an illness problem"

Must have been white, then. In any case, he couldn't have done this without the gun, and THAT is the illness of America, and the mental problem of people who support it. And by doing so, you support such killings. Period. Stop with the excuses, and the support, and make some common sense gun laws.

Or, heck, grab your 25 guns and get all the other gun nutters to line up in circles, draw, and have at it. Leave the people who DON'T want to be reading about massacres everyday -- or be in them -- alone in peace. It'd be a better world if the gun-nutters weren't in it.

I have an extremely effective policy that will prevent anyone with a mental illness getting their hands on a gun. It's been proven 99%+ effective in every single country that it has been implemented in.

Wanna know what it is?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is irrelevant to your claim that the unidentified shooter had a mental health issue.

Nope, it’s relevant because sane people would never kill children or are you disputing that?

Yet that didn’t stop you from declaring the unidentified shooter had a mental illness.

I had it shouldn’t be overlooked, right?

Just like things comment has nothing to do with me pointing out the harm inflicted on American children due to “conservatives” insisting that firearms be easily accessible to everyone in the US.

Sorry, there are other mitigating circumstances that could contribute to what happened and mental illness should be a part of that suspected reason and just like you, you brought in one point of view and I another.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Must have been white, then. In any case, he couldn't have done this without the gun, and THAT is the illness of America

Mental illness is a problem actually, being a law-abiding gun owner is not.

, and the mental problem of people who support it. And by doing so, you support such killings.

Absolute absurd statement. It’s the people that want to punish responsible gun owners and there’s no justification for it. In doing so is making excuses, besides millions of gun owners are liberals, so let’s stay with the facts please and leave the gun rhetoric excuses. We have gun laws in place, let’s push these leaders to enforce them.

Or, heck, grab your 25 guns and get all the other gun nutters to line up in circles, draw, and have at it. Leave the people who DON'T want to be reading about massacres everyday -- or be in them -- alone in peace. It'd be a better world if the gun-nutters weren't in it

I’m not even going to respond to a emotional ludicrous child statement like that.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Nope, it’s relevant because sane people would never kill children or are you disputing that?

I dispute it. Sane people kill other people, even children. In 19 states, the death penalty for minors exists. The state is allowed to kill children in Texas. Are you suggesting that Texas is insane?

More to the point, though: you are claiming, without evidence, that the shooter had a mental illness. You're making things up.
