9/11 museum opens in New York

...and CAIR (the Muslim Brotherhood propaganda arm in the US) is already at it, complaining that "islam" must not be mentioned in the info material of the museum. Instead, the museum is to pretend that 9/11 was conducted by a random group of people, not connected with any particular ideology. And the Obama administration is sympathetic.... stand by for this museum to get the most dumbed-down, politically correct misinformation imaginable.

The motives for the attacks were made quite clear by bin Laden in 2002. And one of the reasons was not, simply, because "We are Islamists" or "You don't share our Muslim faith." or "We Muslims just like this sort of thing" or "Islam dictates we do this". The reasons were, for attacks and support for attacks against Muslims in Chechnya and Somalia, support of authoritarian regimes in Egypt, Arabia and Jordan, U.S. troops stationed in Arabia, support of Israel, and sanctions against Iraq (I assume because of the harm to the Iraqi people rather than the lack of harm to Saddam).

But I seriously doubt the museum makes any mention of these. But they sure do throw the word "Islamist" out there fast.

What I want to know is why Americans are so hot to separate the attacks from politics, and so quick to link them to religion?

What about U.S. support for the Muslims in Bosnia? Didn't that count for anything? Sheesh...

What I want to know is why Americans are so hot to separate the attacks from politics, and so quick to link them to religion?

In the Middle East, politics and religion are inseparable. The political parties are ALL divided-up based on religious sects - every one. Whether the US concentrates on politics or religion, they're talking about the same thing when the location is in the Middle East.

And pretty much every single person in the Middle-East is religious or at least very actively pretending to be. But that does mean that every time someone farts in the Middle-East it was a religious act.

I don't mind the idea that there is a connection between religion and the 9/11 attacks. I mind that the political reasons are ignored and the vacuum left gets filled with hogwash about Islam. The path leads to blaming Islam 100 percent and that is completely false. Muslims visiting this museum are right to be concerned.

And also a non-Muslim such as myself is right to be concerned. In no way do I think the majority of 9/11 victims had anything to do with it, but it is highly disturbing that the ills of the U.S. government are being overlooked. Like it or not, they played a major role in why 9/11 happened, right along with religious extremism and regional politics.

I wonder if it is required to sign up online in advance like the 911 memorial site.

It was jokingly said that it was required to sign up in order to look into your personal details. Never mind that they already have security over there to prevent another terrorist attack.
