IF - IF Trump and his GOP enablers were serious about security they would have thought this through.

That the TSA check lines are not horrible (yet) that's entirely due to the dedicated agents working (for now) without pay. That's not going to last long. They can't all ask daddy for a few million to hold them over.

And why? For an idiotic ego-maniac's monument that won't do a damn thing?

Recording at JFK Airport:  Hello Mr ISIS terrorist.  We don't have anyone to check and see if you're on the Terror Watch List right now because our President and the Republicans have shut down government over a symbolic wall - you know, where 6 of your folks tried to enter last year out of 4,000?

Anyway, President Trump welcomes you to America!

Anyone no the fate of the guy who got passed  the TSA with a gun and got caught in Japan?

No issues means

a) dedicated TSA employees are still available and coming to work.

b) There's nothing to find that is a real security risk and the TSA is overkill for the risks.

I'm a "b" believer.

More Trumper logic:  We don't need TSA to help secure us from known, credible terrorist threats to our airlines, but we sure need a symbolic wall to keep out dangerous women and children...
