The one country that I and probably a whole lot of other people, figured to be able to stop or control the virus, has dropped the ball big time!

The US is ruled by a man who doesnt know what to do, I fear this is going to get a hell of a lot worse for the people there than it is already!

The virus is blamed for about 125,000 deaths and nearly 2.5 million confirmed infections in the U.S., by Johns Hopkins’ count. But health officials believe the true number of infections is about 10 times higher

A failure of leadership at all levels and throughout the population.

There is one reason that the United States leads the world in Covid-19 cases, and its name is Trump.

No other nation has done as poor a job as we have, and that is entirely because we are lead by a reality tv - conspiracy theory president who doesn't know how to do anything but lie and steal.

many infections are happening in younger adults, who are more likely than older ones to survive

It would be much easier to convince young people to take the coronavirus more seriously if Republicans like Trump, Pence and governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott would take it more seriously themselves.

The idiots and those that could harm the many because of their selfishness and poor mental faculties will be the ruin of us all. If this continues to rage, we're going to have to look at this from a totally different perspective, i.e. nature running its course on depopulation to restore balance to this earth. The big fish eating the little fish and then the little fish eating the big fish, thus completing the circle. Don't mind me, just crazy thoughts running rampant when stuck at home all day.

Half measures come back to bite you when you are dealing with a virus.

The lack of real leadership and clear messages have caused this mess.

Trump isn't able to handle this.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Trump isn't able to handle this.

Therein lieth the problem.

They elected a troll as president. Then when it came time that actual leadership was required, they only had a troll there, instead of a leader.

Well done. Golf clap for everyone who voted Trump.

Deaths are down nearly 75% despite the Increase in cases caused by more testing

125,000 deaths and still raising. White House advisor Anthony Fauci warned the next two weeks would be "critical to our ability to address... surging" in Florida, Texas and other states.

There are spikes on June 27

Florida has reported a new record in Covid infections, amid a surge in cases in southern US states that have allowed businesses to re-open in recent weeks

On Saturday, Florida reported more than 9,500 new cases, up from almost 9,000 on Friday, the previous record.

The spike has led state officials to tighten restrictions on business again - as Texas also did on Friday.

Avg. age for cases in Florida: 38 vs 52

Diff in hospitalization rate: 4% vs. 15%

Known case fatality rate: 0.4% vs. 4%

not nearly as bad as before in Florida.

I personally think they are inflating the numbers some. Example if you die from a heart attack and you have symptoms of corona virus. They will label the deaths do to corona virus. Yes, there is a virus and people die. I personally they are hyping the number due to Agenda 2030. Al Gore is pushing for the Great Reset. Then you have Bill Gates pushing ID 2020.

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

They will label the deaths do to corona virus.

Who are the 'they' this time. A link showing that info would be helpful.

 Agenda 2030.

I assume this is something reported by Alex Jones/RT/Breitbart/Qanon/8cgan etc

Traitor Don keeps on blubbering. He doesn't wear a mask and he mocks people who do, shooting his juvenile mouth off like the hateful brat he is. He's setting an awful example for his sheep. And after all those 'opening protests' that he provoked it doesn't surprise me that the coronavirus is spreading to rural areas too.

And America has the most sick because of this cowardly Bunker Boy. 'Make America Great Again' my fanny!

Never worry America, because we have Donald J. Trump on the job....

President Donald Trump has canceled a weekend trip to his private golf club in New Jersey, where the state has implemented a mandatory 14-day quarantine for visitors who've come from states with a high number of coronavirus cases. Trump said in a tweet Friday afternoon that he was staying in Washington to monitor protests.

Oh, wait a minute....no we don't...

Donald Trump visited one of his own private golf courses in Virginia on Saturday as America continued to see fallout from a rapid surge in coronavirus cases. The trip came a day after the US president said he would stay in Washington DC to “make sure law and order is enforced” amid ongoing anti-racism protests.

While the virus rages across the US, but mostly in Red States who opened up too early. And hospitals and ICU beds in these states are maxing out, our President can be found on a golf course - which is his second favorite place to be, after an adult theater.

Wait until flu season begins... the US is going to look like 14th century Europe, with King Donald on the throne.

A 34-minute dose of midday summertime sunlight can inactivate 90% or more of coronavirus, a recent study found.

Due to more intense ultraviolet light and radiation, the authors wrote COVID-19 “should be inactivated relatively fast during summer in many populous cities of the world,” and that sunlight will likely have a notable effect on the virus’ ability to spread.

Trump right again.

43 percent of the deaths were in nursing homes

Had they been out rioting and looting? Or is there maybe some other explanation?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Yeah Cuomo sent infected people to nursing homes instead of hospitals.

Yeah Cuomo sent infected people to nursing homes instead of hospitals.

I see, so it’s a localised NY problem. That explains it.

A 34-minute dose of midday summertime sunlight can inactivate 90% or more of coronavirus, a recent study found.

Trump right again.

If only there were someway to shine 34 minutes of continuous sunshine into the lungs. Maybe if you stand outside with your mouth open really wide you won’t need to inject the bleach.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Maybe move to Florida, Texas or one of the other sunny states. The virus rates there must be plummeting with all that bright sunshine.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

the death rates are.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Yes NY state has more deaths than most countries.

I see, so it’s a localised NY problem. That explains it.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Yes NY state has more deaths than most countries.

And the US has more deaths than any country.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

read a good depiction of Cpt Trump on the Titanic

boiler room worker: sir the boat is sinking fast what do we do!?

Capt Trump: well stop measuring the water level, and take off that life vest you're making me look bad

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Yes, thanks especially to NY state's "contribution" of 25% of the total.

And the US has more deaths than any country.

so what happens to the other 10% thats in your lungs, how do you expose your lungs to UV light!?

Im waiting for that study that shows injecting disinfectant will kill the virus

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Over 4,500 virus patients sent to NY nursing homes

yet states like Texas and Florida that opens early on Trumps orders have more than 4500 cases in one day, now shut downs will be reinstated if things get worse, seems like Trump was wrong again on reopenings

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The US and Brazil cases are extraordinary. Don't they know the idea of caution, prudence or incrementalism regarding re-opening?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

There will be no end of the Covid-19 until there's a vaccine.

true but it can clearly be managed if people follow the sd guidelines and wear a mask when in public,

many countries have proven it works just America cant seem to understand that yet

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The bright side, testing being widely carried out and being clearly aware that something has to be done.

It is far better than not testing and creating the impression that it is low or it isn't even there.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

In Florida, masks are compulsory but some oppose their use. At a town hall meeting one woman claimed she couldn't breathe and also why she never worn underwear.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Daily number of cases 45,000 and Tokyo is 55 Beijing 27. Governments lie about the numbers? The US inflate and the Asian countries deflate?

So everyone should head to the beach for lunch?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

It appears sunlight helps, so sure.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Just a few weeks after the riots started, infections go up. Where is the surprise? Did people think shouting BLM makes the virus run away?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

It appears sunlight helps, so sure.

covid19 can last about 10 minutes in UV light, and yes it can clearly be transmitted outside in the open as we can see now by the spike in infections. What UV light cant kill is when the virus has been transmitted to your lungs. Just like Hydroxychloroquine has now been proven ineffective in fighting the virus so does UV light stop in its transmission.

They elected a troll as president. Then when it came time that actual leadership was required, they only had a troll there, instead of a leader.

I can tap + only once but this deserves to be pinned.

How can anyone disagree? Even if you’re a conservative there are better options. Why must you be a sheep and vote for the incumbent. In USA elections, has there ever been an incumbent President not winning his parties nomination for the second term? Why suffer four more years?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

see all your Dem run states leading the way.

yes NY CA have the vast majority of international flights from overseas so it was understandable.

but as covid19 now shows if you don't follow the science then doesn't matter what political affiliation you have covid19 will infect you all the same

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Just a few weeks after the riots started, infections go up. Where is the surprise? Did people think shouting BLM makes the virus run away?

did not see all those protesters in Arizona. Arizona, Florida, Texas all opened early from pressure from Trump.

and now they're see the highest spike in cases. oh but its just coincidence isnt it!?

now theyre reversing their reopenings and making mask mandatory, seems like the science was right all along.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

now theyre reversing their reopenings and making mask mandatory, seems like the science was right all along.

But Holland, Sweden, Denmark No one is wearing a mask and everyone is fine, so what gives?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

A 34-minute dose of midday summertime sunlight can inactivate 90% or more of coronavirus, a recent study found.

People are more concerned with the other 10% that it does not inactivate. So 10% failure invalidates the 90% success. If a vaccine kills all but 0.01% of the virus, everyone will still declare the vaccine a failure. I suspect there will never be a 100% cure, just as there is no 100% cure for the flu or common cold. So in the meantime, unless there's 100% success rate, people will pull in their heads and legs like a turtle and hide. What a hypersensitive and intolerant world we live in.

But Holland, Sweden, Denmark No one is wearing a mask and everyone is fine, so what gives?

Nope.

Just to take the first example, wearing a mask on public transport is now mandatory in Holland. Holland had a very severe outbreak of Covid in one of the most densely populated countries on the planet but did a great job getting the numbers down.

I’m pretty sure your other examples of ‘no one wearing a mask’ can be shot down as well.
