Two things:

First, the NRA will say, if only the Walmart employees were armed, they could’ve stopped the shooting. Like they did after the Las Vegas shooting that killed 56. (Huh?)

Second, the Moron the people of ‘Merica voted in as president will Twitter for an immediate gun control law. Like he did after the eight who were killed in NYC by a non-‘Merican. (Huh?)

Not even news TBH, there's a hundred shootings per day in America

"No way to prevent this," says the only nation where it regularly happens.

@Maria - sure, if that one stat is accurate and/or you have a link to where you saw it.

accordig to Wikipedia, there were over 38,000 gun related deaths in the US in 2016, a little over 100 every day.

The NRA doesn't have to say anything. Their argument will get rolled out by posters here.

Here we go again. sigh

And US Officials think the gun laws we have are enough..... okay.... That Walmart probably sold guns too...

@lllyes. Why on earth would you think, uh, its the weekend. Grab some coke and my gun, and go to a concert? If it was me, I would be polishing my dancing shoes.

Just another day in the US, sadly. Three so far this week? Probably just as many before the week is through and leading up to Black Friday. This is probably one of those examples where if there were NO guns there might have been a fist thrown or something and a scuffle, but now we have two dead and a third wounded. Sure, we don't know the details yet, so perhaps I'm wrong and it was an act of terror or robbery or what not, but my bet is on a simple misunderstanding or argument gone bad, and guns allowed people to kill. All we know for sure is that there was ANOTHER shooting in the US, and more people dead as a result.

First, the NRA will say, if only the Walmart employees were armed, they could’ve stopped the shooting.

Depending on local and state law, many Walmarts sell firearms, meaning potentially it could have been the whole store against this one shooter. Problem is, that NRA argument is more full of holes than the wall of the shooter's suite at the Mandalay Bay hotel.

WA4TKG - I love that one; “According to Wikipedia “; well, it MUST be TRUE then.

Well, thank you for that useless little snipe WA4TKG. Perhaps you should do some of your own research instead of posting pointless crap like this. Here's a fact for you, in the last 50 years from 1968 since when records were first kept there has been over 1.5 million people killed by guns on US territory, which is more than the amount of Americans killed in all wars over the last 400 years.

@TAMA, think he was serving up a thick slab of sarc about how Trump only has brilliant ideas after certain types of mass murders. The Uzbek guy did have several replica guns on him, which is why the police shot and wounded him.

America loves this stuff. Makes gun owners think they are right to have a gun. The circle of life in America.

@pacint, well that cannot be true in Japan. Just browse through the display cases at collectors' resale shops and tell me those "toys" do not look realistic. Not an orange cap anywhere to be found.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Fine, but wouldn't that be weird to have strict laws on BB guns while the real deal is so widely sold. Is the ATF going to start raiding toy stores?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Replica toy guns sold in the US must have a blaze orange tip - please note that black spray paint is sold on isle 5. What I find odd is the restrictions don't apply to bb guns which can look real and shoot a (low powered) metal bb. It only applies to guns that shoot plastic bbs.

if only the Walmart employees were armed,

I assume you were being facetious. I have to think the only people who would say something like that are people who've watched too many John Ford saloon shoot-em-ups where the good guy kills all the bad guys without a single miss. Not a single innocent bystander is ever shot in those; another American fiction from the mythical days when things were 'great'. And the true believers still buy it.

Or perhaps it's said by someone who's a marksman at the pistol range, but who's never been in a firefight where there's an exchange of live rounds.

I can't think of many things scarier than being in a crowded place like a concert or a classroom where there are hero wannabes carrying handguns and are willing to shoot them. Leave the guns to the police. To the people who are so scared and insecure they can't live without a handgun: stay home. You're a danger to all who want to reduce the risk of being shot by one of you.

@illas Just like liberals were dead silent after the NYC attack by an immigrant?

Could you please provide a source?

Condolences to the victims' families. Hats off to the police and emergency responders who put their lives at risk every day.

My sympathy to the taxpayers who once again have to pay more for the costs of gun related crimes.

Here I thought that is law that BB, imitation, etc guns need to have a high visibility orange part that identifies them as such.

Guess I am wrong

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I am talking US law as this article is about a US incident.

Yes, not needed in Japan but goods sent to USA need to include it regardless of origin.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I only pointed out how easily authorities can track the flow of crime guns. 10 stores in metro Chicago area sold 25% of the weapons used in shootings there. To avoid being deleted, I will try not to use any more naughty nicknames for the ineffective POTUS.

Not seeing this anywhere else?

@kawabegawa - sure, if that one stat is accurate and/or you have a link to where you saw it.

Funny, the left want to confiscate and ban all guns, but are against taking ANY preventive measures to stop or hinder radical Islam. We just need to accept it as a part of life. Oh, what a twisted world we live in. Liberal logic, just astounding.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Well is this terrorism or not? No one will tell me until they catch the guy and see if he is white and Republican or not.

Second, the Moron the people of ‘Merica voted in as president will Twitter for an immediate gun control law. Like he did after the eight who were killed in NYC by a non-‘Merican. (Huh?)

You do know that it was a truck, not a gun, that was used in NYC killings, right?

I love that one; “According to Wikipedia “; well, it MUST be TRUE then.

First, the NRA will say, if only the Walmart employees were armed, they could’ve stopped the shooting. Like they did after the Las Vegas shooting that killed 56. (Huh?)

You do realize that you weren't allowed to bring guns to that Las Vegas concert? It was a gun free zone. (Huh?)

Second, the Moron the people of ‘Merica voted in as president will Twitter for an immediate gun control law. Like he did after the eight who were killed in NYC by a non-‘Merican. (Huh?)
