Go Australia!

Life has felt almost normal here in Sydney since the end of the 8-week lockdown in May. We sign in to restaurants/cafes as we enter, but there are days when I don't think about COVID-19 at all.

Aggressively test and contact trace the new cases Japan, you're not going to beat it by burying your heads in the sand and hoping it'll just get bored and go away!

Victoria last week ended most of its 111-day lockdown restrictions - some of the world's toughest and longest

There it took 4 months . The big question remains . Now what ?

Now back to zero and recycle the panic. The virus is not gone, of course, the moment the travel restrictions are lifted, there will be more "cases" again. At the same time, the death rate from this remains flat, as knowledge about it and treatment for it are improving.

Keeping the population locked in with the elusive goal of making the virus go away, is purely a political exercise at this point, and not one we should accept.

"Infection rates" means nothing when you are talking about a disease with an IFR of 0,05 or thereabouts, which most people even do not realize they have. Do you also demand never-ending lockdowns in order to eradicate the common cold? Good grief.

Or nobody caught a cold now that everybody is wearing masks?

Or nobody caught a cold now that everybody is wearing masks?

That is actually an interesting question. Has anyone found a survey about that? If the miracle mask prevent Corona, then they would of course also prevent the common Cold.

Personally, I would expect that the Cold is somewhat reduced, largely because of all the Corona rules, but that of course it is still there. Just as Corona is.

If you stop testing people than you get less positives.... They stopped testing in australia...plus its Summer time and flu goes away... Anything else?

Heliotropism is what needs to be investigated. The sun's radiate energies scrubbing both the lungs and blood of bacteria and viruses. While it never panned out for tuberculosis sufferers it still may have promise in these exploratory times...
