@Yoshisan

I really hope you are correct, but let us wait and see what the impact to the economy will be by this complete overparanoia reaction.

In my opinion, the Australien Government is going to damage their country.

But I guess you live in Australia, so you know better than me.

The economy’s on life support. On top of the massive hit to the national accounts courtesy of a decimated tourism and education export industry, gubmint has blithely taken on hundreds of billions of dollars debt, enough to qualify as a surrogate universal income. Multiple $750 support payments for millions and no doubt more to come, on top of a whole slew of other freebies and largesse, an order of magnitude larger than Japan’s desultory ‘here’s 十万円 and a couple of masks and be on your way’. Yoshisan, like his wartime forebears, seduced by dreams of South Seas cornucopias, can’t see the wood for the trees. One wonders how long the Aussie dollar can stay propped up when it should be sinking like a stone and stratospheric house prices can maintain the charade that they’re exempt from the Laws of Newtonian physics.

Australia will break apart. Their economy will come to an end.

Seriously, mate. It is just the metropolitan area of Melbourne. How will the whole Australia break apart and its economy come to an end.

Never before in history have we demanded the quarantining of the healthy.

Never before have the seemingly "healthy" been able to infect others with a deadly virus that can not yet be detected in them. First time for everything.

'State of disaster'????

A severe earthquake? No.

Widespread flooding? No.

Severe bushfires? No.

Air raid? No.

It's a flu like sickness of which 1500, (90% elderly) die each year in Australia.

Poor Victorians. Gripped by fear causing an overreaction. Pity the multitudes who cannot do the following.

Work

Pay bills, rent and mortgages

Go to school

Visit lonely elderly relatives

Visit friends

Attend a funeral

Hold a wedding ceremony

Enjoy life

Just about anything else

Never before in history have we demanded the quarantining of the healthy.

The average age of death due to Covid is 79. They ought to implement solid protocols to protect the eldery and other susceptible, health compromised people, while allowing everyone else to get on with life.

will allow only one person per household to go shopping once a day. Melbournians will not be able to go further than 5 km from home. They will be limited to an hour of exercise a day.

What are they doing? Are they crazy?

This is a complete ultra paranoia reaction and against all freedom human rights.

Australia will break apart. Their economy will come to an end.

Go ahead and isolate yourself if you want to. Just leave everyone else alone.

I’d imagine those isolating would certainly be leaving everyone else alone. That’s the whole point of it really.

Hardly a problem, killing less than one person in a hundred thousand.

Go ahead and isolate yourself if you want to. Just leave everyone else alone.

So those BLM protesters ruined all the hard work put in by Victorians

and yet there were also protests in Sydney Brisbane and they didn't get any flare ups, yeah sorry it doesn't fit you narrative. Meanwhile opening too early people not following social distancing guidelines and not wearing masks , people traveling interstate when they shouldn't be , this has been proven to be the main spread of covid19, get this Australia's deaths per capita stands at around 2% that of the US

This also matches BLM protests if I change the word work to protest.

"Also a fair bit of self-centred disregard by some people for the health and distancing measures, a fair bit of absolute freaking stupidity and carelessness, and a fair bit of more understandable but still unintelligent behaviour e.g. by people going to work when they shouldnt have."

This shows you what selfish, irresponsible, callous 'rights' centred behaviour gets you.

Deaths, bankruptcy, more isolation and lockdown and a State Emergency.

Dumb, dumb idiots.
