Hey, a president who actually defends law enforcement and takes real action on gun violence.

Not some toddler who uses them as his personal enforcer and needs notes to make sure parents of kids killed by school shooters “feel heard.”

How refreshing.

Good luck getting rid of the millions of assault rifles that are already in the community.

The Republican candidate for governor, Doug Mastriano, accuses Democrat Josh Shapiro of being soft on crime as the state’s twice-elected attorney general,

Biden has an unfortunate history of trying to be "tough on crime" to the detriment of American society and the creation of a shameful prison-industrial complex.

https://www.commondreams.org/views/2013/03/18/shame-americas-gulag

He has been complicit and an enabler of the Republican tough guy poseurs.

But directing the "justice system" at Donald Trump and his cohorts is right and proper.

Gun crime are being committed by people ,using law-abiding gun owners, who fail to secure their gun,a man broke into a police car and stole his gun

FBI not to be trusted? But Trump should be trusted to keep a secret?

What a joke!

Trump should be bound and gagged to shut him up and plug up any more leaks. This is ridiculous.

“Biden has laid out a $37 billion plan for addressing crime and boosting law enforcement resources”

There. I’ll quote the article because those whose response to everything is saying crime is out of control and Democrats want to defund the police don’t usually read them.

Biden can preach and defend the FBI as much as he wants. No crime against that. He has a right to do that. Meanwhile, the rest of the country on the other hand and for a lot of people…

An expat living in Japan thinks they have the pulse of the American people, lol. As Bugs Bunny used to say "what a maroon".

Get rid of the FBI and see what kind of nation the US turns into. Funny thing about the Federal system. State law enforcement cannot enforce Federal laws and violations of Federal laws cannot be tried in state courts. State authorities lack jurisdiction to enforce, prosecute or try violations of Federal laws. Likewise violations of state laws cannot be prosecuted by Federal law enforcement nor can violations of state laws be tried in Federal courts because they too lack jurisdiction over state laws. So if the FBI is eliminated another similar Federal law enforcement agency would have to be formed unless you want to let organized crime and industrial crime go unchecked. Think hard and be careful what you wish for.

A new Morning Consult-Politico poll taken a few days after the search found that 49 percent of registered voter surveyed approve of the decision, with 37 percent of that count strongly approving.

FBI not to be trusted? But Trump should be trusted to keep a secret?

Well, the Orange Jesus did keep a whole bunch of secrets stashed in various closets of his hotel. Legally he wasn't supposed to but that seems to be beside the point for some who comment here. But really, this is not so much different from a theft of drug case. He was in possession of items that he had no legal right to possess. That is the long and short of it. The rest is just a bunch of noise.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Blacklabel

if everything is fine why did the person at the FBI who opened the investigation into Trump just suddenly “resign”? after being found to have not followed procedures to open the case and found to have political bias on the job?

Who resigned?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Well, the Orange Jesus did keep a whole bunch of secrets stashed in various closets of his hotel.

So did other politicians, take your pick.

Legally he wasn't supposed

Many were not as well, but….

But really, this is not so much different from a theft of drug case. He was in possession of items that he had no legal right to possess.

That depends. The DOJ already know what inventory Trump had. If there were something that they needed of urgency, they would have demanded it a long time ago and not close to a midterm….”oh, by the way…” yeah, that rationale won’t hold up.

That is the long and short of it. The rest is just a bunch of noise.

Exactly and more and more people are realizing this. Again, the Feds have less than of smidgen of credibility left.

“We beat the NRA. We took them on and beat the NRA straight up. You have no idea how intimidating they are to elected officials,” an animated Biden said. “We’re not stopping here. I’m determined to ban assault weapons in this country! Determined. I did it once before. And I’ll do it again.”

Yes sir,  assault-style weapons, machines guns, automatic weapons, a 50 caliper sniper rifle all have NO PLACE in a civilized society, only psychopath would want to own one.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

"I’m determined to ban assault weapons in this country! Determined. I did it once before. And I’ll do it again.”

Well, kind of. Due to the grandfather provision, there were (and remained) about 1.5 million assault weapons and 25 - 50 million large capacity magazines in circulation when the ban was introduced. Also, the manufacturers quickly adjusted to produce weapons that avoided the ban, for example, by dropping some cosmetic features such as bayonet mounts.

The effectiveness of the ban itself is questionable. One recent study estimated that it prevented exactly one mass shooting per year during the decade it was in place, although it also maintained that more would have been prevented had the ban remained in place. Also, the kinds of weapons banned were used in about 2% of crimes before the ban, and any reduction in the use of banned weapons was "offset ... by steady or rising use of other semi-automatics equipped with large-capacity magazines.”

www.factcheck.org/2013/02/did-the-1994-assault-weapons-ban-work/

news.northwestern.edu/stories/2021/03/assault-weapon-ban-significantly-reduces-mass-shooting/

All that said: A federal ban, without a grandfather clause, and with more strictly defined terms, allowed to continue for more than 10 years, would gradually have an effect in reducing the number of mass shootings, and the number of deaths and injuries that occur in those events. That's got to be a good thing. But as Disillusioned said, "Good luck" getting it done.

Personally, I think the capacity of any weapon should be limited to three. One chambered and two in the mag. If you can't take down a white-tailed deer or a feral hog with fewer than four shots, you probably shouldn't be in charge of a firearm. As for home defense, get a shotgun. Or a dog.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Which ex-presidents removed classified documents from the White House at the end of their term?

Obama, Hillary (which was worse because she wasn’t President) and a few other politicians..

Who are the many who had access to classified documents?

I just answered that.

Trump didn't surrender all the classified documents during the first visit. Why?

Why didn’t the DOJ take back the urgent documents they are so worried about a year ago. They weren’t concern with Trump last year, but all of a sudden they had a change of heart? Even after Trump and his team were in the process of returning boxes of national documents and why would the Feds tell Trump to secure the very files they now are accusing him of hiding? Yeah, it really doesn’t make sense, unless….what month is this?.

Classified documents were recovered from Mar-a-Lago. That is the news.

According to whom? The DOJ already knew that.

Exactly and more and more people are realizing this. Again, the Feds have less than of smidgen of credibility left.

Not according to several polls.

in truth I’m pretty adamantly pro-2nd, but Blake Masters running ads in Arizona boasting that his “short barreled rifles aren’t for hunting game” certainly goes a long way toward making your case, Mark.

Machines guns (sic) and automatic weapons are the same thing. And heavily regulated in the United States.

50 caliper (sic) sniper rifles have been involved in crimes (usually illegal possession, transfer, or found during an investigation of another crime) about 50 times in the last 30 years. Here's a list (perhaps not exhaustive, and it's from 2004):

Obama, Hillary (which was worse because she wasn’t President) and a few other politicians..

Obama followed all protocol in doing so.

Hillary wasn’t President, as you said, so has zero relevance. In fact neither does Obama since he doesn’t have millions of classified documents in his home as a lot of looney sites with eaglefreedomtruth in their title are claiming.

 Classified documents are never emailed.

say what?

There is an entire classified government system that they are emailed on every single day.

Plus the server at Hillary's house.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

So that means that more than half don’t.

Nope. Read the poll data. 49% approve, 37% disapprove, with the remainder being Don’t know/No opinion.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Obama followed all protocol in doing so.

Yeah, the left keep saying that. Lol

Hillary wasn’t President, as you said, so has zero relevance.

No, she has relevance for the fact that she was SoS and she had access to the most sensitive documents?! How and most importantly, why? And why would the Feds not pursue it. If you and I would have done what she did we would be in Federal prison and you know that. So once again, the left can do what they want and get away with what they want, but the right can’t. Snowden and Assange were right all along.

Rasmussen Reports released the data, which showed that 44% of surveyed Americans say the raid made them trust the federal law enforcement agency less.

"Last week’s raid by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on former President Donald Trump’s home has damaged the FBI’s standing with Republican and independent voters," Rasmussen said. "A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 44% of Likely U.S. voters say the FBI raid on Trump’s Florida home made them trust the FBI less, compared to 29% who say it made them trust the bureau more. Twenty-three percent (23%) say the Trump raid did not make much difference in their trust of the FBI."

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Yeah, the left keep saying that. Lol

No, the National Archives do.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Obama or Hillary Clinton did not remove classified documents from the White House when they ended their terms.

They did worse actually.

Classified documents are never emailed. Usually hard copies.

They are also never hammered to pieces or stored unsecured in a public restaurant

Federal law requires that presidents and their administrations keep a detailed collection of emails, documents, and even gifts from their time in office since all of those things are actually the property of the American people."

Again, the DOJ knew this, but there was no urgency to obtain those documents until just close before the midterm election.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

or stored unsecured in a public restaurant

or left in cars or in hotel rooms in (gasp!) Russia.....and China.

All of that has been memory holed for convenience of the "get Trump" narrative.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

The White House has also repeatedly promoted the additional funding for local police that was tucked into its sweeping coronavirus relief package in the early months of Biden's presidency.

He's rejected the activist slogan “defund the police," which Republicans have used as a cudgel against Democrats in general, by calling for more money for cops.

God dammit, Brandon.

Timeline: DOJ's criminal inquiry into Trump taking classified documents to Mar-a-Lago

Fox News said that, contrary to Trump's assertion, Timothy Thibault was not involved in this month's FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago "at any level."

The network also reported he retired, and was not fired as the former president has said.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

granted, this is a statement from that Agents attorneys

A statement provided Tuesday evening to CBS News by Thibault's attorneys read, in part:

"Mr. Thibault was not fired, not forced to retire, and not asked to retire. On his last day, as part of his processing, Mr. Thibault turned in his security badge and walked with two long-time special agent friends through the field office to finish processing his paperwork," the statement read. "He walked out of the building by himself. Claims to the contrary are false."

Thibault "firmly believes that any investigation will conclude that his supervision, leadership and decision making were not impacted by political bias or partisanship of any kind," the statement went on to say. "He is confident that all of his decisions were consistent with the FBI's highest standards for ethics and integrity."

*"**Mr. Thibault did not supervise the investigation of Hunter Biden, which, as confirmed by the FBI Director on August 4, 2022, is being handled by the Baltimore Field Office," the statement said. "In particular, Mr. Thibault was not involved in any decisions related to any laptop that may be at issue in that investigation, and he did not seek to close the investigation."*

Wray was asked about Thibault at a hearing earlier this month on Capitol Hill and said allegations that Thibault "liked" social media posts critical of Trump associates was "troubling." He also pledged the bureau would be "scrupulous in our adherence to rules related to whistleblowers."

“Mr Thibault did not supervise the investigation of Hunter Biden”

but it’s true, he liked social media posts critical of Trump.

as a senior FBI dude, he really probably shouldn’t be on social media at all.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The network also reported he retired, and was not fired as the former president has said.

Either way, he’s not with the agency anymore and good riddance.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Yeah, the left keep saying that. Lol

NARA keep saying it.

You either accept facts or don’t. Can’t help you with that.

“I'm opposed to defunding the police; I'm also opposed to defunding the FBI.”

I give him credit for at least stating in public he is against defunding the police.

Assuming he knew what he was talking about.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Policing is a noble profession

That may be true for the honest law abiding officers with real integrity.

And i thank those officers for their service.

However it doesn't apply to the officers that aren't honest and law abiding without integrity that commit crimes and take advantage of situations and use their police badges as a shield to hide and protect themselves from their hidden agendas

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You either accept facts or don’t. Can’t help you with that.

That’s what I keep trying to tell you guys.

This is incorrect. She did not have the most sensitive documents.

Comey disagrees, but she was given a pass. Again, if you or I hid government files on an unsecured HD we both would not be having this chat right now.

But you don’t think 45 should be.

I just want the same legal standard to apply here to both sides for the same crimes. If you have the evidence, then charge them, if not than don’t. Don’t have one standard for the left and one for everyone else.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

You either accept facts or don’t. Can’t help you with that.

That’s what I keep trying to tell you guys.

So that means that you accept that Biden won by 7 million votes, Trump failed in 60 different court cases, and the lawfully signed and executed warrant came away with 184 documents that at the time of the siezure were still classified, 25 of them top secert, right?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

and executed warrant came away with 184 documents that at the time of the siezure were still classified, 25 of them top secert, right?

not if they were already declassified, no.

you can also add seizure and secret to your list of "big words".

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

So that means that you accept that Biden won by 7 million votes,

The election is not part of this topic.

Trump failed in 60 different court cases, and the lawfully signed and executed warrant came away with 184 documents that at the time of the siezure were still classified, 25 of them top secert, right?

Again, the DOJ knew this already, last year it wasn’t an issue, it wasn’t an issue a few months ago, the Feds told Trump he should buy a secure lock to keep them safe, he complied and now short before the midterms, it’s urgent that they have to reclaim the documents because they felt that from Trump Towers he was about to destroy the documents? Like I said, it’s going to great to have sunshine as a disinfectant and McCarthy with the gavel to get to the bottom of all this.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

you can also add seizure and secret to your list of "big words".

Your arguments would hold more water if you followed known facts and didn’t have to resort to this kind of thing.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

“We beat the NRA. We took them on and beat the NRA straight up. You have no idea how intimidating they are to elected officials,” an animated Biden said.

Ahhh, Joe, the NRA is in favor of upholding certain elements of the constitution; a document that as president, you are supposed to follow. Joe--over here!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Your arguments would hold more water if you followed known facts

I think what you meant was "approved/accepted" facts.

There are a lot of known facts, which the left generally refuses to accept.

Biden is either electioneering our totally out of step with a big slice of his own party. The documents thing is such a ridiculous red herring. Anyone who thinks Orange "stole" or whatever documents is deluded. What for? Given he has been the most investigated public official ever, why would he be so dumb?

Some of the reporting on this has been nothing short of hysterical (again). Wait a few months and let's see if this is the "walls finally closing in on him"

Personally I doubt it (but happy to be proven wrong).

The "new" Republican Party.....

Free from the establishment of Washington.

The Dems defunded the police and look at the mess in every major blue state.

That says they'll "shoot FBI agents putting them in body bags" (Repub candidate Martin Hyde)....

Democrats, the DOJ and the FBI were completely silent when radical Dems threatened to kill Kavanaugh and Barrett and going to their personal residence, but yeah, they have the right to protest and say what they want as long as it's not to liberals. Walls don't work, but Biden wants a wall around his home and wants the US taxpayer to pay for it.

That promotes violent rioting "in the streets" just like Antifa and BLM (Lindsey Graham)....

That was uncalled for just like when Dems call for violence like Maxine Waters, push and shove them and get in their faces and tell them they are not welcome.

Yep, it sure isn't Reagan's law and order party anymore....

The Dems have no room to talk, gone are the days when they actually cared for the working man and the rule of law.
