Interesting factoid to bring "trillion" into a comprehensible model; 1 trillion seconds is approximately 31,000 years.

Desperation to get something, anything, before Biden is sent to meet the world again.

total failure for Congress as they keep removing things their voters were promised.

Yep, those so-called fiscally conservative Repubs sure gave THEIR VOTERS something they were promised in 2018....a $1.9 Trillion UNFUNDED tax break for those Top 1% rich Wall Street fat cats....

Too bad they couldn't fulfill that promise they made 62 times in 2016....'We'll build a big, beautiful wall".....

except we are talking about the desperation of Biden and the Dems.

Rep. Khanna says Biden told Dems reconciliation agreement a must before Glasgow conference: 'I need this'

They dont care about the American people, just virtue signaling politics to the world. "need this" so his buddies overseas will let him join the cool guy climate change club.

I think you're taking the expression "time is money" a bit too literally.

Manchin is in the pocket of conservative donors. He’s a democrat in name only.

I wouldn’t dispute that. You can say the exact same thing about Susan Collins being from Maine.

You could easily same the same about some far left Democrats who are "Democrats in name only"- the likes of Jayapal and Occasio-Cortez. Manshin IS a democrat, just one that his party has left behind in their lust for power.

The final number doesn't matter really. It is easy to fudge the term of some programs (changing funding from 5 years to 3 years) and have the appearance of trimming the package. What really matters is cutting actual programs, such as community college, and funding so-called 'green initiatives' that somehow wind up enriching the Democrats' largest donors.

West Virginia Sen. Manchin is an interesting character. On the one hand, he wants that government assistance which benefits the poor of his state, but, on the other hand, he has to defend the dirty coal industry because of the jobs connected to it.

Caught between a rock and a hard place.

And he's certainly no "moderate" as he styles himself and the supine MSM insist on labeling him. His smooth, soft-shoe "bipartisan" political shtick is the keystone of his fossil-fuelled wealth . Manchin is a fossil himself of the grandfathered Corporate Democratic Party that since Clinton has been driving millions of working-class Americans into the embrace of the Republicans, themselves now saddled with the Frankenstein of Trumpism they have created. Manchin and Sinema will soon have to cry uncle or leave the party.

Funny, liberals would be praising Manchin were he to support this massive costly behemoth entitlement waste.
