Perhaps for those who live their lives in fear, for example those who have acquired private arsenals rivaling those of some nation's armies, those who get dressed up in camouflage, faux flak vests and carry assault rifles in attempts to make others fear. The majority of those with a modicum of reasoning ability will take the information and act reasonably. I've only read terms like 'fear fire' and 'fear mongering' written by those most afraid, seemingly afraid of life itself.

It seems that the people using the word “fear” tend to be on the right side of the political spectrum compared to those behaving cautiously and rationally.

The irony of your comment is that this latest mutation of SAR-CoV2 has not yet been detected in China, or anywhere in Asia, yet. So far it has been detected only in the UK, US, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Australia.

The confirmed case is a person who has no travel history. Make no mistake, it is all OVER the country, not just Colorado. CO is simply the first state to detect it.

Only if you feer lockdowns, because this variant is likely to require more lockdowns. That is because it spreads more easily and hence could get out of control in a population and overrun the hospital system, hence necessitating lockdowns.
