people are leaving that State faster than you can whistle.

Population of California

2010 : 37.25 million

2018 : 39.78 million

Projection for 2019 : over 40 million

Projection for 2050 : over 50 million

What is the sound of one lip whistling?

One would think that a parent who undertakes the dangerous journey from Central America to the US to save their child from the violence endemic in that area would automatically be judged a good parent.

bass4funk: “Apparently not a good one. We can’t be the nations doormat”

You seem more than happy to promote the man who makes your nation the world’s Butthole.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Bass: If they Need to seek asylum, they can, just do it legally.

Whats Trump’s position on legal immigration? We know he likes the laws that allow in foreigners to work at his properties since they are cheaper than Americans, but what about the other stuff?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Serrano: "Cripes, a couple hundred more thousand and we have one in forty people illegal in California."

And the rich will be all the happier to have more illegal gardeners, and Trump more illegals as hotel staff. You guys are such hypocrites when it comes to wanting your cake and wanting to eat it, too. The US was built in immigrants, legal AND illegal, and continues to run on them. At the very least you guys need them to throw your bigotry around at because they are the easiest to kick while they're down. Furthermore, Trump's own wife was working illegally in the US, and he's only there because his grandfather became illegal in Germany because, and I love this, he dodged mandatory military training! Guess the cowardice runs in the family.

Oh my.

What’s the sound of a tax base shrinking and demand for services growing? they still pay much more taxes that many of those welfare red states

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Logical : you break, you pay for mending. In a few years, the families and the gown-up kids will sue the @ss of Uncle Sam in a mega class action, for the life-long sequels of the months of child internment.

may be inadvertently supporting human trafficking

So to avoid a slight possibility of cholera, you choose systematically inflicting the plague ? It's 100% sure that the US administration victimizes the children by inhumane sudden separation from their caregiver , jailing them in sub par conditions, losing their track...

-- some of which involves child prostitution and child pornography.

Genetic parents with US residency are immune to crime ? US cops and officials should use their time and ressources at fighting that and busting the 'houses of horrors' .

we have one in forty people illegal in California.

Or 39 in forty. Your California is land stolen to Mexico, part of their California. I mean unless you consider a land belongs to current inhabitants... but then, be fair. That can't be those arrived 2 days ago closing the door to those arriving today.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

"How many of those are illegal?"

I am guessing about 800,000. The population of US citizens in California is still growing in any case.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Which explains why Californians feel how they feel about illegal immigrants

This is a US judge. Not a California state judge. Trump has failed again and again like with his Muslim ban and lowering healthcare costs. Since he has become president healthcare costs have gone up.

Trump is racist because of the Muslim ban.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The US should contribute to the the costs of immigration from Syria to the EU as well because without American stupidities in Iraq Islamic State wouldn't exist.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The whole purpose was to uphold the law that was already in place, but never enforced.

But it's all Trump's fault. Obama never went that far since he was smart about not taking it to the extreme. Trump did (like his failed Muslim ban and failed wall and failed NATO negotiation) and now it looks like we have these lost kids who will end up becoming US citizens- as well as their lost parents once they are reunited. Trump failed. Obama could have tried the wall or Muslim ban but he didn't because he knows he would have failed too. Same with North Korea (another Trump failure) and the Muslim ban- a comical failure.

Trump has failed. But my 401K is rocking.

Good, let the U.S. government pay for this mess and nonsense.

This topic is a prime example of the double standards and hypocrisy of some posters.

Imagine if this happened in Japan The same posters here insulting the immigrants and the California judge, would then be attacking the Japanese government and people for being unfeeling xenophobic monsters.

The US shouldn't have been separating families in the first place

The US wasn't separating families before, even if they have to deport them

The US should then bear the cost of a boondoggle of a logistics mess of a haphazard policy change where not much thought was put into how to reunite families together again

1 ( +1 / -0 )

It’s not a Muslim ban

Yes it is. Proof:

Quote: “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

(DT)

the US should pay to reunite the parents with their children right away.

And who is going to pay for that?

Separating families is not law - it's just administration policy

That's why Trump was able to reverse it with just a signature, without Congress having to pass a new law

Make them pay!

coskuri: "we have one in forty people illegal in California."

"Or 39 in forty. Your California is land stolen to Mexico, part of their California"

Heck, the Mexicans stole it from the Indians, lol

nishikat: "Trump has failed. But my 401K is rocking."

Whaddya whining about then, nishikat? Jeez...

The US shouldn't have been separating families in the first place

People shouldn’t have been trying to cross our borders illegally.

The US wasn't separating families before, even if they have to deport them

Under Obama they sure did to his credit, it’s just the left we’re ok with it then, but Trump does it, they left lose their minds.

The US should then bear the cost of a boondoggle of a logistics mess of a haphazard policy change where not much thought was put into how to reunite families together again.

http://www.ppic.org/publication/undocumented-immigrants-in-california/

says that California is home to more than 2M illegal immigrants.

Nearly one in ten California workers is an undocumented immigrant.

Many undocumented immigrants live with family members who are citizens.

A majority of Californians back a path to legal status.

Which explains why Californians feel how they feel about illegal immigrants. It is their family who has jumped the immigration line, violating US laws. Whenever family is involved, people loose their objectivity.

It is up to the rest of the country to do what is right for the nation.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The US now the Land of the Free Stuff. If one is foolish and works then they are foolish indeed.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I agree - the US should pay to reunite the parents with their children right away. Trump - please buy two sets of airline tickets for each family so that parents may finally be reunited with their crying children once and for all back in their country of origin. That’s a win-win solution for everyone right there.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@nishikat: Trump is racist because of the Muslim ban.

It’s not a Muslim ban. About 90% of the worlds Muslims are not affected by Trumps travel restrictions. Also, non-Muslim countries are included in the policy. We all know that you know this but by all means don’t let the facts get in the way of the narrative.

No wonder people are leaving that State faster than you can whistle.

Tax payers are leaving.

Legal or illegal immigrants? Unclear here.

"The government will make it happen," Sabraw responded.

This perfectly expresses the progressive attitude toward government. Fiat lux! etc.

"A U.S. judge in California on Friday ordered President Donald Trump's administration to pay the costs of reuniting immigrant parents with children separated from them by officials at the U.S.-Mexican border, rather than forcing the parents to pay."

Poor overburdened U.S. taxpayers. So, people who illegally bring their children to the U.S. with them bear no financial responsibility, thanks to a California judge. Thanks a lot, judge, thanks a lot.

Go there illegally, get paid for it.
