Charles III formally proclaimed king as sons reconcile

A royal family united in grief for a sovereign that united a nation.

I don't want for a moment rain on that parade.

Megan and Harry upcoming memoir looms over the proceedings like a Sword of Damocles.

"I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become," the Duke of Sussex said of his memoir.

Sorry Meghan

The soap opera continues, sans matriarch.

What does any of that matter? He's fifth in line for a ceremonial position and has next to no constitutional role himself, except if he has to deputize for the King when he's too busy to open an airport or something. Even then one of his cousins could do that. Anyone who thinks his memoirs mean anything at all is drastically overstating their importance.

Isn't it time to streamline all this pomp (and expense), everyone knows he will be king by watching TV or reading on line. Let the poor family grieve in private until the funeral. The average person in the UK is facing terrible economic hardship, stop wasting all this money. Harry and Meghan........

I hereby declare today "The End of Royal Coverage Day "

Far too much pomp and ceremony.

The queen died from natural causes. It was her time.

The article uses the correct roman numerals to describe the king

However the headline doesn't.

This happens frequently .

Reasonable to assume the only reason is the headlines and articles are not written by the same person.

The headline uses a sans serif font. No assumption required.

Oh, my Simon, come, come.

The value of Harrys memoir has little or nothing of importance in gaining/securing any future role, or climbing up the greasy pole of succession, even deputisation.

Never on Harry or Meghan agenda.

Harry made that perfectly clear day one.

Why do you suppose Penguin Random House advanced over $20,000,000, Netflix up to date $268,000 per day with a ceiling of a possible $100,000,000. Spotify another $50,000,000?

Prince Harry has the potential to dissect, explore and subvert the inner working of Great Britain's Royal family like never before.

The chance/opportunity for every media outlet, social media to learn first hand every possible grubby secret/truth bomb the Royal Family have or want to hide.

Think about that.

Dying from natural causes when someone just dies from internal causes not external ones like murder or injury.

Thanks palace spokesman Royal Regent Wallace

You asked a question, I provided an answer.

No idea. I think they're wasting their money.

Prince Harry has the potential to dissect, explore and subvert the inner working of Great Britain's Royal family like never before.

Like never before? What about Edward VIII?

The chance/opportunity for every media outlet, social media to learn first hand every possible grubby secret/truth bomb the Royal Family have or want to hide.

I'm not even remotely interested in any of that and I don't understand anyone who would pay a media outlet any money to read about it or watch a programme about it. It's not going to affect anyone or anything. The King isn't going to abdicate and the monarchy isn't going to end. British people are not going to wake up tomorrow and find themselves living in a republic because Prince Harry wants to get some money from media outlets who really have better things to do with it.

Think about that.

I did. Now what?

Simon,

Meghan has a political agenda, above all the ability and acumen to leverage years of experience within a proven celebrity network of powerful friends.

I am sure there are many that share your lack of interest in tittle-tattle and abhorrence of gossip mongering.

However there as many more that thrive on delving into other people's private lives, celebrities, royalty is on another much higher plane.

There are vested media interests that will throw money at such opportunities

Edward VIII is a point in question, the newspapers had a field day.

Prince Harry has a wealth of secrets that social media deep pockets will deliver pots of gold.

More over a platform for Harry and especially Meghan to launch a political career.

Harry is aware that he will always be on the periphery of any future prospects of a meaningful role.

Meghan on the other hand senses an opportunity, I suggest, will take no prisoners in realising those goals.

Simon excuse my tone I am not have a pop, or disagreeing with you.

I have a cynical streak running through me.

Humour me for a moment, and lets stand in Harry shoes.

William from birth is/was always going to inherit the earth so to speak.

Circumstance was never in Harrys favour.

Imagine having to, in effect settle for the role as a bit player, an add on extra.

Meghan gave Harry or presented Harry an alternative future in the land of opportunity if one can work the numbers to grab it. I suggest that Harry felt the prang of humiliation, slighted passed over.

I am not sure if or whether this newly found unity will last.

William and Harry, like all the others, were born into a life of titles and privileges. Luxury, palaces, and castles.

Edward VIII is a point in question, the newspapers had a field day.

Prince Harry has never been and never will be king, and no one worth paying any attention to cares that his wife is a former American actress.

Prince Harry has a wealth of secrets that social media deep pockets will deliver pots of gold.

I'm not so sure that he does really, but supposing he cashes them all in then what? That's all he's ever going to be known for and he and Meghan are going to discover they need to do something else if they want more notoriety and money.

does anyone know what the cause of death was?

Basically old age. The body eventually just gives up and stops working and the heart switches off.

Off/topic but...

does anyone not what the cause of death was?

I don't mean to be morbid, I'm just curious and I don't know where else to ask.

Death certificates are public records. All you need to do is apply for a copy for the usual fee. I really am surprised you don’t know, you being in the UK. A particular speculation is pretty common knowledge. And no, it’s not covid or vaccine related, anyone with half a brain cell could see what the issue was.
