. . . families in 10 cities that have recently been ordered deported by an immigration court but have not yet left the country.

So these are people who have had their day in court, have had their Asylum hearing and have refused to leave voluntarily. If laws are not enforced, USA will rapidly become similar to the very same countries from which the migrants are fleeing from.

Leaving aside the arguments for or against, isn't a "crackdown" usually more effective when it's not announced and carried as top story by every news source in the country?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Its racist

It's not racist to deport people who broke our laws coming here without permission.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

With the high profile Democrat donor and pedophile Epstein recently arrested, the perception is that the Democrats are no longer the party of the working person in the US. There is really no alternative to Donald.

Um what? Everyone is already firmly in their accounts. You act like there are people on the fence who would suddenly flip for something like this.

Neither an illegal nor an undocumented person would be allowed to stay where they are not authorized to be.

Neither an illegal nor an undocumented person would be allowed to stay where they are not authorized to be.

Agreed, which is why I wasn't arguing that point.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Chip Star - Neither fooled nor outraged. The fact is there has been a trend over the past couple of decades in politics and the media to remove the distinction between those immigrating legally and illegally.

As an American I have no problem stating it is the fault of the U.S. that this problem exists (both political parties failing to find any meaningful solution to this problem). If I were in the same situation as those coming illegally I would to the same. However there is a law against being in the country illegally and it should be followed.

There should also be a clear distinction made between those who choose to immigrate to the U.S. legally and those who break the law.

I am an expatriated American who is taxed by my government while living overseas. I would rather not be but this is the law and I need to either lobby to change it or abide by it. I would certainly like to ignore that law and then have people supporting me or aiding and abetting the law.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Blacklabel - I am quite liberal but in this case I would agree with you. I would the U.S. spend money and resources on citizens who have been marginalized. Start by fixing the inner cities and the school systems and then providing health care for citizens. I despise Trump but the comparison in the sign to Hitler is ludicrous.

The crackdown is on those who entered the U.S. illegally and it is not specifically targeting families. I also do not understand the protests nor to I understand Trump foolishly announcing this far in advance.

The U.S. has become a strange place.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It would be interesting to see how many of the immigrant sympathisers would be willing to take families of them into their own homes and provide them with everything they need for as long as they liked to stay.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Leaving aside the arguments for or against, isn't a "crackdown" usually more effective when it's not announced and carried as top story by every news source in the country?

Nothing can be done about that now - it was already leaked by Trump in last month's tweet (that's why he's not blaming anybody or the media about it)

Crackdown on immigrant families facing deportation in U.S. to start Sunday

Better late than never. They broke our laws coming here, they have no right to be here.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

ICE isn't conducting "raids": They're enforcing the law. Only anti-Americans think differently.

Both, innit. Raids to enforce the law.

Only anti-logics think differently.

@SimondB

Return of the Brown Shirts

Go back and crack a few history books.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No, we just want people abiding by the rule of law,

We want everyone to obey the law, pay their taxes, not molest children. But the haters don’t seem to want that.

Killing migrants, supporting pedophiles seem to be their interpretation of the law.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

All emigrants are welcome in USA as so many come in every year,

Not true at all. The Trump administration wants to reduce immigration.

It's ez and you can do it yourself online.

It is not easy to do. Not at all. It can take years to get a visa.

Anyone can come in a educational visa or tourist visa also.

Yes. If you come from a rich family you can. But unlike Japan and other countries, folks on student visas are not permitted to work in the US, meaning only the rich can afford to come on a student visa.

They are actively seeking criminal elements and those who are danger to society or illegally collecting govt programs.

What are you talking about? Who is 'they?' Absurd.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The fact that Trump is advertising the "crackdown" is all the proof we need to conclude that his interest is NOT in removing undocumented immigrants -- it is in feeding his base a vivid picture of force against immigrants.

Real law enforcement officers don't reveal their plans ahead of time because (duh) it warns the targets, who then have time to hide and because it puts officers at risk.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Buying the liberal media nonsense got a guy killed when he tried to set a detention center on fire. People are going nuts over all the liberal propaganda.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

So then they have to go. They had their day in court and their claims were denied. So why the liberal protests?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

It’s not like we don’t have our own citizens. We have our own families, people of color and homeless veterans, who need help before illegal aliens.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@lincolnman

Its racist my friend, its disappointing you can't recognize it. Trump has built his entire support base on racism, coded language, hate, and fear.

Don't fall for his fear-mongering scam...

2 ( +4 / -2 )

With the high profile Democrat donor and pedophile Epstein recently arrested, the perception is that the Democrats are no longer the party of the working person in the US. There is really no alternative to Donald.

lol What does the arrest of a pedophile have to do representing the working people? You said so little with so many words.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I really don't mind raids. If you're here illegally and you don't show up to your court hearing then there should be consequences. Hopefully there is a way for them to appeal, for example if there's an error by the court, but I'm guessing there isn't since it's Trump and his goal is to remove as many minorities as possible. But if you don't follow the process on purpose then you should be removed from the process.

blacklabel: We have our own families, people of color and homeless veterans, who need help before illegal aliens.

Socialist!

Funny, liberals calling cracking down on illegals breaking the sovereign laws of The US, Nazi tactics, yeah, that’ll really help their weak argument.

Nazis? You mean "some of those fine people"?

A lot of hateful noises to keep his bloodthirsty hater base happy.  Be warned, just deporting the illegals is not going to keep the haters happy, they want blood.

No, we just want people abiding by the rule of law, I think as a sovereign nation we are totally allowed to have that. I guess now the Democrats will actually have to work on getting votes which means, they need to come up with policies other than robbing Paul to give to Peter.

Really? See Vernon Watts comment above and below...that's what a typical Trumper thinks.

With the high profile Democrat donor and pedophile Epstein recently arrested, the perception is that the Democrats are no longer the party of the working person in the US.

Oh Epstein - Donnie's neighbor and dinner guest. Who had 18 angry Republican lawyers help him get off a child molester charge.

I think to soften the deportation process starting tomorrow, ICE should play Frankie Laine performing the Rawhide theme song when picking up illegals...

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen - proof in black and white that this isn't about securing our borders, this is about punishing and dehumanizing other human beings - ones with brown skin Thanks for your honesty Vernon. All the Trumpers that said this wasn't a racist issue, we'll be waiting your mea culpa.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Trump is very blustering, but he is misguided and achieves very little at the end. The obvious reason why so many people enter and stay illegally is because there is virtually no legal path of doing it. It has been estimated that it would take at least several decades for a low-skilled person from Mexico to be given a visa to enter legally, so obviously nobody is going to wait decades when they can just cross the river. During the Bush era, there used to be a work permit program that worked great, but Obama removed it. The obvious solution would be to make it easy for people to get a work permit and enter and remain legally in the country. That would instantly cut the illegal entries to almost zero, and now if someone tries to enter illegally, you would be sure they aren't coming to work. The vast majority of people coming into the US have no intention on living there forever, or becoming a citizen, most of them just want to be able to work for a while and then go back home, then come again after a while and do the same. An easy to get work permit would allow them to do just that, they would pay taxes, be legal, and everybody will be happy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

If they entered the country illegally, then they can expect to be deported. That's the law and it's what nearly all other countries do. Why the outrage if the US does it?

Obama deported more people than any president before him, earning him the name, "deporter-in-chief." Why the outrage when Trump does it?

Why the double standards?

1 ( +7 / -6 )

"People are coming into this country illegally, we are taking them out legally,"

Can't argue with this. Trump is acting within legal requirements and restrictions.

To those who say it's silly to advertise a "crack down" - it makes perfect sense when you are trying to send a message. I hope that the millions who are considering entering the US illegally hear this news and are discouraged from carrying out their plans.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

If people who enter a country illegally are "immigrants," then someone who breaks into your home should be considered a "house guest."

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Many are viewing this as some sort of conspiracy thing to announce the crackdown, claiming a crackdown is less effective if announced. Look, the point is not to punish current illegals but rather to warn future ones. Thus, the announcement makes perfect sense. Trump wants the press all over it. The episode will serve as a warning to those considering illegally living in the U.S. but more important to Trump I am sure, the whole thing, from announcement to finish will provide probably weeks of satisfaction to his base. There is an election coming after all, and this is little more the Trump troll base loves to see more than women and children crying on the TV.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, yes.

Donny wants to reduce immigration. If he didn't want to reduce legal immigration, he wouldn't he trying to scrap the visa lottery or chain migration.

Accuracy is quite important, but all too often completely lacking when it comes to Trumpophiles.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

With the high profile Democrat donor and pedophile Epstein recently arrested

You forgot to add that this guy was Donny's bff.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Tokyo-Engr

I am an expatriated American who is taxed by my government while living overseas. I would rather not be but this is the law and I need to either lobby to change it or abide by it.

Not only am I taxed as an ex-pat American, without a residence in the USA I’m also disenfranchised. Change the latter? In 2016 Republicans Abroad approached Democrats Abroad and found little interest in somehow changing this.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

its one thing to deport them its another to treat them like animals..

Exactly.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Why the double standards?

Because anything that Trump's administration tries to accomplish is bad, bad, bad, according to people who hate Trump. The Dims think that denying any progress to reduce illegal immigration is better. It is not.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The fact that Trump is advertising the "crackdown" is all the proof we need to conclude that his interest is NOT in removing undocumented immigrants

No, it’s to give a warning to all the Democrats and non-believers, this is about to happen and I’m serious.

-- it is in feeding his base a vivid picture of force against immigrants.

Illegal immigrants. There, I fixed it for you.

Real law enforcement officers don't reveal their plans ahead of time because (duh) it warns the targets, who then have time to hide and because it puts officers at risk.

No, the Democrats kept calling his bluff, everyone thought either Trump won’t do it or he’s not serious. He gave the Democrats more than enough time to deal with this, they don’t, they won’t. Instead they want to make a political spectacle in thinking that illegal aliens have the absolute right to enter the country and equal rights as the citizens of this country, they don’t and that time clock has almost ended and besides, the deportation orders are targeted first and foremost to the most radical and violent ones, the ones with previous convictions as well as the ones that were already told they would have to leave, so those people will get priority. But it is good that this President is doing what he said, he would do. Kudos to him. If you want to come to this country, do it legally and lawfully and we will always and happily welcome you with open arms.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

If people had left when the court ordered them to do so, raids would not be required. To enforce the law.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

A lot of hateful noises to keep his bloodthirsty hater base happy.

Be warned, just deporting the illegals is not going to keep the haters happy, they want blood.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

That was a long way around for Bass to agree that yes, Trump is trying to reduce legal immigration.

It’s ok, but yeah, I think we should wind down a bit, most importantly to remove as many illegals as possible.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Not gonna happen. He said it would, and every word out of his mouth is part of a lie.

The economy says otherwise. The Democrat desperation and pandemonium also says otherwise.

Nazis? You mean "some of those fine people"?

He also said, “Nancy Pelosi”wasn’t a racist either, but as you said, he lies...

Oh Epstein - Donnie's neighbor

And Clinton’s best Buddy, the man who flew 27 times on the “Lolita Express”

Who had 18 angry Republican lawyers help him get off a child molester charge.

Thank God, Acosta took responsibility and stepped down. You could never get ANY liberal t step down, only make dumb excuses why they should stay in office.

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen - proof in black and white that this isn't about securing our borders,

And what have the Democrats have done so far? Sigh...it’s July now....

this is about punishing and dehumanizing other human beings -

No, it’s not. It’s about breaking the law, so not only do liberals think we should allow illegals to break the law, we should just turn away and let it go.

ones with brown skin Thanks for your honesty Vernon.

Ahhhh, the race card argument. Trump said, Nancy wasn’t a racist, but according to liberals, Trump is full of air and she’s White so....

All the Trumpers that said this wasn't a racist issue, we'll be waiting your mea culpa.

Keep waiting, sir

Return of the Brown Shirts.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Gotta love those who blame Trump for implementing the policies of Obama! How convenient liberals forget about Obama and Bush immigration rhetoric.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

All emigrants are welcome in USA as so many come in every year, But you have to come in legally as my wife did and it takes 6mo to a year. It's ez and you can do it yourself online. Anyone can come in a educational visa or tourist visa also. Many stay and lead productive lives and none are looking for these people starting Sunday. They are actively seeking criminal elements and those who are danger to society or illegally collecting govt programs.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Donny wants to reduce immigration. If he didn't want to reduce legal immigration, he wouldn't he trying to scrap the visa lottery or chain migration.

That’s just as good. We should scrutinize more actually and have a merit based system

Accuracy is quite important

And on this, the President is laser guided.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

They could get more illegal immigrants if they went to 10 Trump properties rather than 10 cities...

Sure, lincolnman, just make up stuff and post it! lol

Obama beats Trump hands down on deportations

Um, Northernlife... Obama had eight years. Trump has had two and a half so far, and he's been opposed by the Democrats and the RINOS.

Oh Epstein - Donnie's neighbor and dinner guest.

Um, lincolnman... Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's Lolita Express half a dozen times. Trump never did.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Return of the Brown Shirts -- comment

Heh, according to today's low info liberals, it is common knowledge (only to them) that folks back then were trying to enter into Nazi Germany by the millions .

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Its racist my friend, its disappointing you can't recognize it. Trump has built his entire support base on racism, coded language, hate, and fear.

You don't stigmatize and demonize an entire group of people by using words like "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people” unless you're a racist.

Throw in "there are good people on both sides" when talking about Neo Nazis and White Supremacists, and there is no doubt left.

Don't fall for his fear-mongering scam...

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Not true at all. The Trump administration wants to reduce immigration.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, yes.

It is not easy to do. Not at all. It can take years to get a visa.

Then you need to be patient.

Yes. If you come from a rich family you can. But unlike Japan and other countries, folks on student visas are not permitted to work in the US, meaning only the rich can afford to come on a student visa.

I understand, but it doesn’t give people the right to break our laws.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I think to soften the deportation process starting tomorrow, ICE should play Frankie Laine performing the Rawhide theme song when picking up illegals...

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Protest sign: Trump 2020

Yes.

Protest sign: Hitler, why'd you come back as Hitler? Back to HELL YOU GO

Idiot.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

The operation is expected to target hundreds of families in 10 cities that have recently been ordered deported by an immigration court but have not yet left the country.

They could get more illegal immigrants if they went to 10 Trump properties rather than 10 cities...

Just roll up to Mar-A-Lago and have all the housekeeping staff get on the bus...

The Trumpers just can't admit the scam Donnie is pulling on them...

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Funny, liberals calling cracking down on illegals breaking the sovereign laws of The US, Nazi tactics, yeah, that’ll really help their weak argument.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The Great Orange Flim-Flam Man using racism and fear to deflect from his many scandals just like he always does - and his bamboozled supporters cheer him on. Sick.

Neither an illegal nor an undocumented person would be allowed to stay where they are not authorized to be.

Except when they're changing sheets or mowing grass at a Trump property....got to keep that cheap illegal immigrant labor...

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

We want everyone to obey the law, pay their taxes, not molest children.

That's obvious.

But the haters don’t seem to want that.

The Democrats didn’t stop it and they’re still not doing anything about it, except hold hearings and crying fake crocodile tears.

Killing migrants, supporting pedophiles seem to be their interpretation of the law.

So let’s hope the Democrats will finally get off their lazy rears and do something and not just talk.
