Wait until 2024 and then we should see.

Higher health insurance rates and higher government debt already. Student debt going up record levels. Also illegal crossings at record levels at Trump. Trump is failing.

bunch of plutocrats all trying to "out-poor" each other.  Pathetic.

Also for "extraordinary diversity" read ability to mine the identity politics seam effectively.

Not with this economy and as Democrat “James Carville” said, it’s all about the economy stupid. And that’s the ONLY thing in the end that matters.

You blew this out of the water.

As you posted, Bush 2 is regarded as a successful president by you and your unnamed non-partisan historians despite the fact the economy flew off a cliff on his watch and he blew a surplus.

You also stated that the economy was a a disaster under Obama, and yet he hammered Romney and left office with very handy approval ratings.

Carville’s words are believed by many but evidently not by you.

I don’t know why you continue to contradict yourself like this.

So much of the insane conflict in America stems from the delusion, articulated in the Declaration of Independence, that there is such a thing as a God-given right. Rights are granted by humans, and if you're born with one, it's only because the society into which you're born has agreed that it be so. There is nothing to which any organism is actually ENTITLED simply by virtue of existing.

The unemployment rate at the end of Obama was 4.8%. Trump progressed to 3.8% or a 1% fall.

Over Obama’s eight years in office, the economy added a net total of more than 11.6 million jobs — a gain in total nonfarm employment of 8.7 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

as well as immigration

WRONG! Reagan gave out 3M greencard freebies. Obama or President Hillary never did that. The wall is being built as Trump says

Much of the wall has already been fully renovated or built.

(Trump)

And it is failing since they are just using ladders to go over it and make Trump look like an idiot. Even with Trump's wall, illegal crossings (I should say illegal climbings [over the Trump wall with ladders]) are going up and up. Trump's wall is a complete failure.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Liberals and math trouble continues. This is a 20.83% decrease.

Really? like with how Trump is "decreasing" illegal crossings over the border? Or how Trump is "decreasing" the US debt?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Donny is an incompetent moron. If the democratic candidate cannot unseat him, it's time to disbanded the party.

But the difference is, these guys want FREE everything, free college, free healthcare, end all Student loans, more government, more entitlements

You guys weren't even offering to give anything, and obstruction got you to the white house. Now the dems can not only obstruct, which you showed to be the winning tactic, but they'll even get more votes because of all the people who want free stuff!

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I feel for These children, that’s way through education and to teach them how to become self-reliant and independent as well as entrepreneur would be the best uplift to help them become prosperous and successful.

You are the one you stated American public schools and universities are a total failure.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

we're going to throw the borders open

Even with the wall they will just use ladders to go over it. They are already climbing over Trump's wall. Proof is illegal crossings under Trump is exceeding that of Obama's presidency

3 ( +4 / -1 )

They should all get on Twitter later and post unflattering photos of each other’s spouses to liven it up a bit.

This is the best idea I've heard in a long time! I support this proposal 100%.

by the end, half the people were trying to speak Spanish.

Don’t be so dismissive. Trump tries his best to speak and write English.

American has the biggest difference between the rich and the poor. Poverty and the lack of healthcare remains a major struggle for too many. Hundreds of thousands of homeless. 400,000 orphans and 30,000 every year reach adult life without being adopted. Increase in the numbers of extreme right wing groups. Highest numbers of people in prisons, 2.5 million.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

The poverty rates for the past 50 years has been in the range 12-15%.

It don't take long for Trump supporters to reduce to using their alternative facts to try and win the argument.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I wish all of them the best of luck!

Hopefully one of them will be the next (2020, to make no mistake) POTUS!

1 ( +10 / -9 )

it is time , things change , to give the middle class, a chance. There is no hope for amrica if things go on as trump wants, only he will get rich. Middle classs will go to war,.

A Marxist pointing out the failings of the other Marxists.

And still more coherent than anything the president has ever said.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Ahhh, the inflated jobs numbers the paper hat jobs where the answer requires a “would you like fries with that?”

You mean like 78% of the jobs Trump has added?

On top of the 3.2 million well paying jobs that have been lost since he was president?

Or during the slow and sluggish economy where you had millions of people taking themselves out of the workforce because they couldn’t find employment for over seven years

As compared to the people who have lost their jobs and their homes due to Trump's tariffs.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

by the end, half the people were trying to speak Spanish. Pandering 101.

A human right is something you are born with. It comes from God, the Universe or Nature, or whatever you believe in. You do not pay others to give you human rights, you just have them by virtue of being born and alive. Healthcare, on the other hand, is a service that you pay for somebody else to provide you. Healthcare requires people working to produce this service. You pay for it. You don't pay for human rights. Therefore healthcare is not a right, but a service. Whether that service will be provided to you by the government, or by the private market, is another question. It is a service. Now, tell me, how many of you here are happy with the services the government provides you with your tax money? Is there a service that the government can provide better than the private market? Name one.

What they said about the economy not working is true, but what they don't realize is that it's not working because of their failed policies, and what they are proposing is more of the same -- central control.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Got the lowest “unemployment” 3.2% Democrats will never top that. ROFL!

Obama took the country in, in a massive recession, bleeding jobs, and dropped the unemployment rate to historical lows, and you guys still took the white house! The people don't care about the economy, they care about how angry they are at the people in charge. That's what you guys showed us. We just have to keep the people hating Trump, and wanting to tear apart any of his policies. That's the path to the White House! And we have you guys to thank for showing it to us.

Trump, the elephant not in the room, was in the air traveling to Japan for a round of trade talks as Democrats faced the nation for the first time in the 2020 campaign. From Air Force One, he tweeted his take on the night: "BORING!"

I imagine it was about 20 seconds before his attention span ran out and he changed the channel to something about Kim Kardashian, golf or some right-wing hack talking about the greatness of Donald Trump.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Kinda like when you all were gonna move to Canada, no? Won’t do it even when you lose.

If the democratic candidate cannot unseat him, it's time to disbanded the party.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Considering all those Democrats contesting are all millionaires, I suspect that only rich they will be taxing are those with more money than them.

In other words nobody talked about hand size, cracked a knob joke or made up playground nicknames?

They still have time. They should all get on Twitter later and post unflattering photos of each other’s spouses to liven it up a bit. Maybe a few videos hitting each other with golf balls?

Maybe it will keep his attention better. This politics lark - BORING.

Democrats rail against economy-for-the-rich

What, only for the rich? Trump's economy is for everyone.

Trump's terrible performance has degraded and devalued the rightwing brand and opened up a chance for the Dems to start a sea change in American politics by dismantling the rapacious oligarchy whose tentacles are strangling the life out of the republic.

Har! Did you write that yourself, u_s__reamer?

Here's what the 2020 election is going to come down to:

Which do you think the average voter will prefer -

A platform that says orange man bad, pay more taxes, and we're going to throw the borders open

Or

A platform of hey, I've been the president, the economy is soaring, no major wars, by the way I think we do need border security

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

From the article:

Absent the ugly attacks or missteps of debates in past elections, the two-hour discussion allowed the party to show off its extraordinary diversity.

Diversity of opinion? No siree.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

@serrano how could you guess, with that wonderful field...

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

At least English is the language of our country not a weak pandering attempt.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

There is one candidate among that flaming clown car of "candidates" who I could actually vote for if I was Merican. But it is 100% guaranteed that she gets shafted by the neolib establishment, smeared in the neo-lib media, and shadowbanned by Google et al.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Ocadio-Cortex made a funny comment. (In valley-girl speak)

OCASIO-CORTEZ: I think sometimes with the debate stage this big, it can kind of seem like a high school classroom, and so there are some folks that, like, didn’t seem like they read the book, and then they got called on. And then —

"OCASIO-CORTEZ: “You know, you kind of like— it depends on the question. So— so they’ll answer the question or they’ll get called on, and I don’t think some candidates thought that they were going to get called on, on a certain question. And they’ll be like, “Yes, the hero was courageous and the protagonist of the story."

A Marxist pointing out the failings of the other Marxists.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I imagine it was about 20 seconds before his attention span ran out and he changed the channel to something about Kim Kardashian, golf or some right-wing hack talking about the greatness of Donald Trump.

None of these clowns will ever become President. That was a hilarious circus of free for all everything. Painful to watch, but funny as heck.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

What a pathetic bunch of Marxist dopes.

Here's the summary of the "debate" :

A: I'm the biggest Marxist here.

B (et al): Nuh-uh! I is!

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

cant even be bothered to get riled up. It was a sad spectacle to see. Proven by the fact that most liberals didn’t even bother to watch it.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

If this is the best the dems can do, Trump's got 2020 in the bag. Can always count on the likes of these candidates to offer up programs that will buy voters - student loan forgiveness, open doors at the borders, etc.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

You guys weren't even offering to give anything, and obstruction got you to the white house.

Got the lowest “unemployment” 3.2% Democrats will never top that. ROFL!

You must be sweating. Traitor Trump is going to lose the election to a bunch of Marxists

Not with this economy and as Democrat “James Carville” said, it’s all about the economy stupid. And that’s the ONLY thing in the end that matters.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The media would have us believe Warren won that clown show. So who won?

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Finally, someone really gets it. If only Democrats would understand this, well said.

Trump will destroy these panderers.

TRUMP 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-6 ( +12 / -18 )

Establishment Dems like Biden et al. have never practiced what they preach, have never fought for a fairer society, for the American worker, for real racial justice and gender equality, but have always cynically served the interests of the wealthy folks who bankrolled their careers. To defeat deadbeat Donny the Dems need to put out a candidate from the left field. Trump's terrible performance has degraded and devalued the rightwing brand and opened up a chance for the Dems to start a sea change in American politics by dismantling the rapacious oligarchy whose tentacles are strangling the life out of the republic. Good luck to the radicals with a mission 'cos I'm not holding my breath.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

My top 3 Dems:

Marianne Williamson - because I'd like to see a more tantric, wholesome, yoga loving America;

Andrew Yang - apparently he wants to give everyone a $1k monthly check, for doing nothing. That's sure to revive small towns and community small businesses;

Joe Sestak - can't go wrong with ex-navy guy who wants to cut middle income tax but hike high income tax.

Of course, I know they'll never get anywhere, they're too honest but lacking tge money to sell their message.

free universal health care

Who's gonna pay the doctors, nurses, medicine makers, cleaning staff and receptionists? They gotta earn a living...

debt-free college

Who's gonna pay the teachers, publishers, computer makers, cleaning staff and receptionists? They gotta earn a living too.

Liberals live in a dream world.

Democrats don’t, we know that, but “the people do”as well as immigration.

Even one of the more leftist magazine knows it.

@WilliB Tulsi, amirite?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

I’ve got through about half so far. Seems like a good bunch. Tulsi is my favorite going into this. Warren must have said corporations about 30 times, but so far I haven’t heard one mention of the central banksters or the Fed, which is like trying destroy only Hyde but letting Dr. Jekyll live.
