A good night. Democrats will take the House. More than 30+ seat gain.

Huzzah!

Great night for the GOP, they keep the Senate and now McCaskill is out.

Voter Fraud (You got that right) Kobach gets clobbered. Along with nearly most the govenors. Who will oversee the 2020 redistricting. Ha!

FL Senate razor thin. FL Governor D loses.

Let’s see now what the maturity conservative Supreme Court will do

Great night for the GOP, they keep the Senate and now McCaskill is out.

Gee, losing the House is now what is considered a "great night" for the GOP just because they didn't also lose the Senate?

“Democrats picked up governorships in Kansas and at least three other U.S. states on Tuesday but failed to win high-profile races in Florida and Ohio”

A foreshadow into 2020 election. Two years ago Trump campaign went tooth and nail to win those battleground states. Glad they stayed red today.

Guess that The Bluewave wasn’t as big as the left predicted everything has been razor thin. Even if the Democrats do take back the house, it won’t be like an overwhelming large margin.

Gee, losing the House is now what is considered a "great night" for the GOP just because they didn't also lose the Senate?

Because, in this day of judicial activism, the Senate is where the real gravy is made via judicial nominations and seating. Congress has gave away it's power to legislate and turned it over to activist judges.

Possibly one more SCOTUS (maybe... maybe even more), or just a few more lower court judges, and it won't matter WHO has a majority in the House. Unless, of course, the decide to start... you know... actually "legislating" again instead of posturing.

Floridians opted to remain in the past rather than look to the future.

"In Kansas, Democrat Laura Kelly defeated Kris Kobach, a staunch Trump ally, where outgoing Republican Governor Sam Brownback suffered from low approval ratings."

Well this is a bright ray of sunshine that we all needed.

Finally the people of Kansas have come into the 21 Century.

Floridians opted to remain in the past rather than look to the future.

Had the Democrat won that state would’ve became a total socialist state, think God he did not listen, now they can move forward into the future. Florida has shown once again and that is a very sane State.

Really? Not for the Senate, be careful what you wish for, the Democrats can go crazy and hold investigation upon investigation or actually do something for the people and try to set themselves up with a moderate Democrat that can take on Trump, but for some reason, I doubt it. But seems like they will expand their majority in the Senate and that’s not good news for the Democrats either.

What kind of crackerjack system would allow one candidate to be in charge of the election? (FIFA?)

Georgia, you are messed up! You need to review your election laws.

And what kind of candidate wouldn't step down from their role as supervisor or an election they are standing in? Mr. Kemp, you need to look up "conflict of interest" in the dictionary. And then grow a spine. Wow.

For Dems to stand a chance in 2020, Pelosi and Schumer have to go, replaced with younger and more vibrant politicians, who are beyond reproach, who don't take corporate money and are in tune with the voters and their best interests. Change has started, but the results of the next two years are going to be a deciding factor for 2020. The Dems have to resurrect the party from the top down and gain a pair of cohones, otherwise it's going to be business as usual.

Congratulations, Michigan! You've chosen a Democratic governor and voted yes on two propositions, the more important being the one that transfers redistricting from the legislature to an independent commission. Gerrymandering has got to stop, no matter which side does it.

And of course congratulations to Democrats for taking back the House. The only down side to this is that Trump will have an easier time blaming anything that happens on them. Just watch. ("Their radical socialist open border policies . . ." blah blah blah).

Big boos to North Dakota and Georgia, where GOP wins wouldn't have happened without disenfranchising minorities.

Historically speaking, not a great night for the Democrats. A President with all the baggage that Trump has should have been easy to defeat decisively. It shows that the lack of a coherent message and too much catering to fringe elements isn't good for a political party. I guess in the end it was hard to fight against sub 4% unemployment too.

Now the fun begins. Newt Gingrich could work with Bill Clinton to get things done. Can Pelosi work with Trump?? How will the self proclaimed 'Great Negotiator' deal with genuine political adversity? Will a potential two year gridlock in the House kill the surging economy? Gonna get interesting...

"The losses tempered big Democratic victories in governor races in two states, Michigan and Kansas, that voted for Republican President Donald Trump in 2016, bolstering the party's hopes of recapturing those states in the 2020 presidential election."

I can guarantee you Michigan and Kansas will remain red for the 2020 presidential election. California is still questionable though considering what has happened to that poor state during the last couple of decades.

@Attila--sure, focus your attention on House majority leader Pelosi. She is a total professional who can probably corral Trump into working with the Dems, but that depends on how badly a paranoid Trump will jump the shark if Elijah Cummings starts firing off subpoenas. You are right about one thing though: Trump's baggage--the guy has enough to stock an airport--should be easy enough for a rival like Rubio or Romney to use it against him come primary season just a year from now, right? But somehow I think the GOP primaries will just be an exercise in phoning it in. The Dems will be cruising on the momentum from winning the House and will not be holding back against Trump like the Reps. Can you even imagine choirboy Pence opposing Trump?

" Can Pelosi work with Trump??"

How can you work with someone who wants to impeach you?

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2018-midterm-election-forecast/governor/

Dems likely to raise to 24 states governing 195 million Americans

Reps likely to drop to 26 states governing 134 million Americans

And Colorado elects the first openly gay governor

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/exit-polls-suggest-midterm-election-voters-focused-on-health-care-and-immigration-not-the-booming-economy-2018-11-06

"**Exit polls suggest midterm election voters focused on health care and immigration, not the booming economy"**

Most important issue for Americans:

1) Healthcare - 41%

2) Immigration - 23%

3) Economy - 21%

4) Gun policy - 11%

Regarding Trump's tax cut:

No impact - 45%

It hurt - 31%

It helped - 25%

Trump's performance:

"focus your attention on House majority leader Pelosi. She is a total professional"

Professional obstructor.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

And of course congratulations to Democrats for taking back the House. The only down side to this is that Trump will have an easier time blaming anything that happens on them.

If they continue to be obstructionists, then yeah...probably.

Just watch. ("Their radical socialist open border policies . . ." blah blah blah).

As long as the left champions for open borders, you better believe it.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

If they continue to be obstructionists, then yeah...probably.

You guys proved obstructionism wins, and the Democrats just recreated your win, making it peer-reviewed science now. Two more years of obstructionism is going to be great.

Along with as many investigations are required to expose the truth and corruption in the Trump swamp. So nice after two years of the deep-state right-wing MSM lies that have been trying to pretend that Trump wasn't a piece of garbage.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Regardless whom they voted for, whether Democrat or Republican, the majority of Americans who voted, disapprove of Trump's performance as president

Exit Poll - Trump's performance:

Disapprove - 55%

Approve - 44%

Thus, one can say, many Republican Congressmen got elected despite the voters' disapproving of Trump, rather than due to him

3 ( +3 / -0 )

You guys proved obstructionism wins, and the Democrats just recreated your win,

Not really, they won, but Pelosi’s agenda won’t go through, at least now with an expanded Senate majority, the left can’t get any of their radical policies through the Senate now.

making it peer-reviewed science now. Two more years of obstructionism is going to be great.

Good, let’s see a repeat of the Dems doing just that and losing the House once again, they did it in 2010 and if they go the route that you hope for, like in 2010 and 2014 with nothing to run on, they’ll be out in the cold again, now if they are smart, they will try to take this opportunity and try to come up with some real policies that can help the people, if not, the one thing now Trump can do is point the finger at the Democrats, so let’s see if they want to keep running on obstruction or if they want to focus on turning out a quality candidate, because as of now, the ones they have will never beat Trump.

Along with as many investigations are required to expose the truth and corruption in the Trump swamp.

Good luck getting past all of his new, bigger and more powerful council.

So nice after two years of the deep-state left-wing MSM lies that have been trying to pretend get this President and still to no avail.

To all the DEMOCRATIC minorities who ran, whether you lost or won, thank you, your day is coming, keep fighting for justice and your RIGHTFUL PLACE AT THE TABLE!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Former President Obama has lost 63 seats in 2010 mid term election. President Trump lost 30 seats. So President Trump is doing better than President Obama.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"Exit Poll - Trump's performance:

Disapprove - 55%"

They didn't ask me or anyone in my town.

"To all the DEMOCRATIC minorities who ran, whether you lost or won, thank you, your day is coming"

What about the Republican minorities who ran? No thank you to them? Their day is not coming?

The biggest win had to be the Dem win in Wisconsin over Scott Walker. He has driven the Left batty over the last 8 years so it must feel good to them to defeat him. Second would be Cruz’s win over Beto. The far Left and Hollywood went crazy over Beto and poured in truck loads of money into the contest to defeat Cruz - all for naught.

I think the Republicans pulled off a minor miracle by winning the Florida Senate and Governor races despite the media barrage against them and support for their opponents- especially Gillum. I thought that result was unexpected.

Now for the next two years prepare for gridlock and “impeachment impeachment impeachment”.
