Don't expect too much of "Junior".

Corruption is a way of life in the Philippines.

Don't expect too much of "Junior".

Corruption is a way of life in the Philippines.

......not to mention: Japan, the UK, the US.... and and and.... in fact, anywhere that's run by people! (^_-)

What could possibly go wrong?

They could have at least tucked their shirts in. Really sloppy for a ceremony.

The Philippines was dragged down by later presidents after the Marcos regime. We only saw hope when Ex President Duterte was in the office and things have improved a lot. For now President Marcos Junior, we are expecting a lot from him and time will tell if he is a good president or not.

Again, the "corruption mindset" should change in order for the nation to flourish. The old politicians should go out of the window and should be replaced with a new generation.

Well I’m guessing this isn’t going to end well.

I'm not gonna call you BongBong. What's your real name?

Not to mention China, Russia, Venezuela, Cambodia .... it is a long list.

Nothing gets done without paying a "commission".

Really.

It would be nice to think the many talented, well-educated people, including those in medical careers, from the Philippines will be able to find good paying jobs in their fields in the Philippines and not have to leave their homeland to find suitable employment.

Buried somewhere in the headline

Lol

The US succeeded in getting their boys into office in South Korea and the Philippines (Japan is a foregone conclusion...always LDP).

Expect a lot more pressure to be ramped up and more weapons to be sold all around.

@Fighto! Those are traditional ceremonial shirts called 'barong tagalog', and are not meant to be tucked.

It says Marcos won

The Philippines problems started when they were not lucky enough to colonized by the British. Being a French colony would be bad but never in world history has an ex Spanish colony moved on to be successful.

What is it with this family and the Philippines..... The family robbed the country blind, murders countless people and yet they elect his son..............

History repeats.

First it's forgotten.

Guess you will have to call him “Ferdi baby”!

I feel truly sad for the people of the country, I very much doubt they voted for what they will receive. Even more of the oppressive and autocratic government with added corruption to replace what the country had previously managed to claw back from the thieving family.

The incredible return of the Marcoses was made possible by the ruthless manipulation of uneducated, clueless voters who apparently have no knowledge of history and their fatal ignorance of their dark past under Marcos and Dudirte will surely come back to hit them over the head again: BONG-BONG! "When will they ever learn?", indeed!

Improved? You must be dreaming. Look at the almost tripled debt, high prices, and unemployment.

Well if you know more than them about their history then they must be uneducated and clueless indeed.

How'd you know so much about Philippine history? You from there? In university?

A new dictator is born.

""Congress last month proclaimed his landslide victory, as well as that of his running mate Sara Duterte, the daughter of the outgoing president, in the vice- presidential race.""

So this is how a deal was worked out, I'll step down Duterte if you take my daughter as your Vice- Pres. What a monopoly .

All calculated to ensure the murderous thug doesn’t get to face a court for his actions while president. His first choice was his daughter as president but she was never going to win, ergo yet another corrupt deal!
