President Donald Trump, who has ignored demands to address racial bias

That's yet another way Trump 'panders' to his base, especially those from his demographic who themselves want to ignore and/or whitewash the country's hideous history of racial injustice and discrimination saying things like 'we've already addressed those issues' and 'other places are bad, too'.

1 ( +18 / -17 )

change the world? I wish its true but the truth is nothing is going to happen. The police will be back in their old ways and the criminals will always be there to provide the chance for the police to display their power We have been here before.

1 ( +12 / -11 )

Why?” former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, said in a video eulogy played at the service. “Now is the time for racial justice. That is the answer we must give to our children when they ask why.”

Why did Joe Biden lead the charge to change sentencing laws in the 1990s leading to the imprisonment of black citizens at an alarming rate? Just saying...

0 ( +16 / -16 )

Why did Joe Biden

Is there another article in today's JT about Biden in the 1990's?

-1 ( +13 / -14 )

: most of the action was riotous looting

That's one perspective. I assume those who saw 'most of the action was riotous looting' are individuals who watch news with beliefs enabling them to see things that way.

I saw looting and riotous behavior, but also many more examples of people peacefully protesting.

1 ( +16 / -15 )

That's yet another way Trump 'panders' to his base,

So all the minorities that support Trump want him to pander to them? Huh?

especially those from his demographic who themselves want to ignore and/or whitewash the country's hideous history of racial injustice and discrimination saying things like 'we've already addressed those issues' and 'other places are bad, too'.

No, the difference is, you can’t force people to focus on one group if they feel every Racial group is equal, no one is better than the other. We are all in this together. Of course Black lives matters as well as all lives.

6 ( +18 / -12 )

That's one perspective.

That’s the main and majority of the perspective.

I assume those who saw 'most of the action was riotous looting' are individuals who watch news with beliefs enabling them to see things that way.

Uhh, just look at the damage across the country, it doesn’t matter what liberals WANT the people to think, the only thing that matters is what happened and where do we go from here.

I saw looting and riotous behavior, but also many more examples of people peacefully protesting.

Yes, but they were sadly in the minority.

5 ( +16 / -11 )

But "quo vadis", Trump? Imagine if the president had attended the funeral and met with the bereaved family and made a historic "I have a dream, "too" type speech to unify the nation while pledging himself to demilitarizing the police and prioritizing funding for minority youth, the poor and socially disadvantaged. Nope, nobody can imagine that. We can only imagine him cowering within his double-ringed (de)fences, way down in the bowels of the WH "inspecting" his bunker. What a missed chance!

If Floyd "changed the world", so did Derek Chauvin. I don't know who he is, only that he is one of us, a man who for some reason, as yet unknown to us and perhaps even to himself, made a terrible mistake one day that ruined his life and robbed another of his. The only way we can understand Chauvin's fateful actions is to remember and ponder the words attributed to the crucified Christ who delivered the final verdict on us all: Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.

Businesses need to be on high alert and pay attention when sentences are given. They already should have insurance though I heard many companies don't offer coverage in the case of rioting and looting. When sentences are read, get the valuables as far away as possible. There is already talk by the media that 2 of the 4 officers were only on the job for less than a week and did nothing because they were scared of being reprimanded by the senior officer. The sentences may not be the decades long/life imprisonment that people are hoping for unfortunately.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

It was wonderful seeing people from all over the world marching in honor of George Floyd. Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, so on.

Floyd truly touched many people's lives and highlighted the brutality and racism of the American police force and society. And in turn his murder caused many around the world to reflect on the brutality they suffer under police states.

I say his name, GEORGE FLOYD

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

Why did Joe Biden lead the charge to change sentencing laws in the 1990s leading to the imprisonment of black citizens at an alarming rate? Just saying...

Off topic whataboutery of the lowest class

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

Yes, but they were sadly in the minority.

I'm going to assume posters saying this can provide evidence. If not, I'll fall back on 'beliefs shape perceptions' and that posters who say the peaceful protestors were in the minority have beliefs fundamentally different from mine, that they saw what they wanted to see.

Many posters with negative attitudes about protestors in general have long criticized those exercising their first Amendment rights, saying things about protestors like they're 'not working' and 'getting paid to protest'.

While those posters with negative attitudes about protestors laud protestors carrying weapons. Different belief systems.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

There is a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth

mover Mr Floyd.

And the the narrative for example, on the over militarization of the the police is a valid one- other narratives are missing.

One of which is the high crime rate of the black population and the sensationalism that it provides.

Black people need to examine and rectify this.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

He wasn’t a Christian, but suddenly church’s are making him out as one.

he was an ordinary underprivileged man who was discriminated against since birth.

not a Christian.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

Here you have a guy--Joe Biden--who's clearly exploiting Floyd's death for political gain; but when check Biden's record, it shows he clearly against black people.

How can you say such a thing? You know that if you don't for Joe Biden, "you ain't black." lol

https://youtu.be/jhcgmwj3NAc

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

I'm going to assume posters saying this can provide evidence.

YouTube, it’s free for everyone.

Many posters with negative attitudes about protestors in general have long criticized those exercising their first Amendment rights, saying things about protestors like they're 'not working' and 'getting paid to protest'.

No, that’s not true. No one has a problem with protesters and no one has a problem with people peacefully protesting, but everyone has a problem with vandalism, rioters and looters.

While those posters with negative attitudes about protestors laud protestors carrying weapons. Different belief systems.

You mean like the bottles and cement blocks and knives, some guns, pipes whatever ANTIFA can use to attack innocent people, cops and buildings with.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

One of which is the high crime rate of the black population and the sensationalism that it provides.

Black people need to examine and rectify this.

They sure do. I listened to a radio documentary today which described how police in New York are specifically ordered to issue arrest warrants with quotas targeting young black men. In white neighbourhoods--especially the rich ones--if someone is ticketed for some offense their lawyers see to it that the citations disappear. (I would provide a link if I could.) That does a great deal to elevate the "high crime" rates in certain sectors and erase them in others. The racial profiling and corruption are systemic and, very unfortunately, not likely to disappear.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Last year, the policed killed about 1,000 unarmed people.

How many of the 1,000 unarmed people killed by police in 2019 were unarmed black people?

Also, how many of that number were not trying to wrestle for control of the police officer's gun while being arrested?

If anyone is interested, you can check here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/national/police-shootings-2019/

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@Phiily1

Hey , come on now!

You are telling me that the only nation to have sent man to the moon in recent history cannot rectify a racist police force?

Citations do not disappear unless overturned on a point of law-if they do then the free press of the US has enough investigative journalists to call them out, no?

If there is injustice against black people then why do they not organize and politically agitate?

But there are black mayors and state governors and the last US president identified as black-maybe those examples don’t fit the victim narrative eh?

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Noidall: For the 10^100th time, no one is saying the killing of Floyd was justified. It's the knighting and canonizing of someone who hasn't earned such a status.

Nah, you guys are just here to talk about anything other than a back man being murdered by police again and the systemic racism that exists with law enforcement overall. You post is just today's distraction. There will be more today and more tomorrow and more the next day.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

1994 was the time. We got a crime bill leading to mass incarcerations.

2009 was the time, first black President.

Why is 2020 now the time? cause Dems want to get elected.

Prime speaking spot and high visibility for the old white racist Biden. Just a Photo op.

“Now is the time for racial justice

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

black: Prime speaking spot and high visibility for the old white racist Biden. Just a Photo op.

We will file this in the "Things that upset me more than racism and black people being murdered" file.

Who has the next distraction?

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Yes, diminishing a black life to a photo op and a campaign opportunity upsets me. We cant do anything to go back and prevent the murder now, sadly. but we can prevent his death from being politicized by people who didnt even know George Floyd, especially someone who wrote a crime bill that put men like him in prison. Yet now he gets to be all righteous and use Mr Floyds death for POLITICS? disgusting.

Biden didnt know him and doesnt represent the black community (despite having a black friend). Why is he allowed to speak by video, when he didnt even attend?

We will file this in the "Things that upset me more than racism and black people being murdered" file.

That needs the word 'allegedly' inserting in several places.

Biden didnt know him and doesnt represent the black community (despite having a black friend). Why is he allowed to speak by video, when he didnt even attend?

Thank you.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Speaking of Biden's new best friend Barack Obama (until after the election), did Mr. Obama attend or speak? If not, why not?

black: Yes, diminishing a black life to a photo op and a campaign opportunity upsets me. OK, so go ahead and distract yourself with that. The systemic abuse by blacks by the police can wait, I suppose. Maybe you'll address that when your anger at Biden subsides.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Black: Speaking of Biden's new best friend Barack Obama (until after the election), did Mr. Obama attend or speak? If not, why not?

After you're done talking about that will you address the systemic brutality of the police against people of color? Or is there more on your list more important than murder?

0 ( +5 / -5 )

*but we can prevent his death from being politicized by people who didnt even know George Floyd,*

Once again the authoritarian perspective, saying the state's perspective is all people need. Anyone questioning the state is being political. But that's consistent coming from partisan extremists pushing Trump's brand of authoritarianism. They want a Putin like system where opposition is restricted.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

After you're done talking about that will you address the systemic brutality of the police against people of color? Or is there more on your list more important than murder?

After that, we hope you address the 20 lives lost during the protests. You have yet to send condolences to any of their families most of which were African American.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Or maybe liberals can address this instead of always running away...

But that's consistent coming from partisan extremists pushing Trump's brand of authoritarianism. They want a Putin like system where opposition is restricted.

Hey! Democrats are the ones that bowed and submitted to the mob, so if anyone is pushing a political agenda, it’s not Trump, he was clear where he stood for law and order.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

@zichi: Last year, the policed killed about 1,000 unarmed people.

Check your stats - you got something mixed up.

Of those 1,000 or so armed and unarmed killed, 45% are white men; 23% black men; and 16% Hispanic men. Women are a mere 5% of those killed. Which of these statistics shows the most startling bias? How can it possibly be that 95% of those killed by the police are men? Does that bias bother you at all? Can there be any possible reason other than bias to account for such a huge level of gender bigotry?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

did Mr. Obama attend or speak? If not, why not?

Presidents frequently attend these kinds of funerals. So, the better question is: Why didn't Trump attend? My guess is there are two reasons: 1) Trump is incapable of showing empathy, and 2) He doesn't actually care about George Floyd or police brutality.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Last year, the policed killed about 1,000 unarmed people

I would also like to point out that the number of unarmed people killed by police in 2019 is 55, not 1,000.

Translation: "We're going to use him to change the world by ushering in communism."

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

@Wolfpack

Why did Joe Biden lead the charge to change sentencing laws in the 1990s leading to the imprisonment of black citizens at an alarming rate? Just saying...

If you follow the history of laws in America that unjustly target and/or are unjustly enforced more on black and brown people, you wouldn't have to ask such a question.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

SuperLib: After that, can we talk about the murder by the police? Just let me know when you guys are ready.

Not many people in America care about the police. At this point in time most Americans consider them the enemy - the media will turn them into Al Qaeda in a few more months.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Bass:. Or maybe liberals can address this

Sure, and after we adress that can we talk about the murdered black man? Or so you have a few more items to get through first.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Sure, and after we adress that can we talk about the murdered black man?

We have been for two weeks.

Or so you have a few more items to get through first.

Not me, but all the minorities that have to go back to nothing, how they’ll get throw this is anyone’s guess.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Last year, the policed killed about 1,000 unarmed people.

No, I believe that number includes armed people, and the number of unarmed black people fatally shot by police last year is around 10.

Floyd ... was seized by police after being accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a convenience store.

Articles always give the impression the police just pulled him out of the car and immediately kneeled on him. No mention that he was resisting arrest, had drugs in his system and stumbled to the ground at least twice, he said he couldn't breath while he was still standing, and we can clearly see him on video twice dropping small white objects (drugs?). And no mention of the nasty stuff he has done in the past. This is the person they have chosen to change the word?!!

I wonder if we'll see articles on JT for the funerals of each of the many people killed by rioters.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

3) was not invited so as to give the full spotlight to Biden, for politics.

Presidents frequently attend these kinds of funerals. So, the better question is: Why didn't Trump attend? My guess is there are two reasons: 1) Trump is incapable of showing empathy, and 2) He doesn't actually care about George Floyd or police brutality.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

@bas4fso if anyone is pushing a political agenda, it’s not Trump,

How could any politician, especially one running for re-election, not be pushing a 'political agenda'.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

“The president talks about bringing in the military, but he did not say one word about 8 minutes and 46 seconds of police murder of George Floyd," Sharpton said. "He challenged China on human rights. But what about the human right of George Floyd?”

The Rev. William Lawson, a contemporary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., said: “Obviously the first thing we have to do is clean out the White House."

You might think that the two terms of Barack Obama was a sign that America had finally outgrown its ugly racist legacy but it reared its ugly head during his last years in office and it multiplied exponentially since 2016. Rev. Lawson is right, the current WH occupier has done nothing but stir up hatred and committed hateful acts. He's supported by David Duke, supports those 'fine Confederate and KKK men', howls for money to build a stupid racist that is not needed or wanted. He has to go

And yes, what about the human right of George Floyd, of any Black American? All this talk of 'liberty and justice for all' don't mean a damn thing if it applies to just one skin color.

'What about the human right of George Floyd'? I say his name now: GEORGE FLOYD!

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Bkacklabel:. 3) was not invited so as to give the full spotlight to Biden, for politics

Do you think Trump's past incidents of proven discrimination against blacks played some small part in it?

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Interesting article discussing the man himself here: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/06/george-floyd-man-sparked-movement-200609175159156.html

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Not many people in America care about the police.

I think the size of the protests says lots do care about the police. In addition to the number of people who've expressed support for the police.

At this point in time most Americans consider them the enemy

Most? If there's evidence to back that up, I'd be surprised. But would like to see if there is.

the media will turn them into Al Qaeda in a few more months.

Just a tad extreme. Once again 'the media' are made the enemy. Those who consistently attack the free, for-profit press must also want to see the Constitution's guaranteed rights of free expressions scrapped. Just like their Trump/barr.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Presidents frequently attend these kinds of funerals. So, the better question is: Why didn't Trump attend? My guess is there are two reasons: 1) Trump is incapable of showing empathy, and 2) He doesn't actually care about George Floyd or police brutality.

Trump's record of hatred is well documented, and if he came to the funeral the mourners would beat him up and he knows it. He doesn't care about anyone but himself anyway, and on top of that he is a CHICKEN.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Why didn't Trump attend? My guess is there are two reasons: 1) Trump is incapable of showing empathy,

Why would any Republican speak to a crowd of blacks that are biased and vote 93% Democrat by default? They would never listen, they haven’t listened for over 60 years.

and 2) He doesn't actually care about George Floyd or police brutality.

Or maybe the rioters, looters, BLM and Antifa don’t care about the rule of law.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

How could any politician, especially one running for re-election, not be pushing a 'political agenda'.

The people that want to unseat a duly elected President.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

3) was not invited so as to give the full spotlight to Biden, for politics.

Lol and why would that be? I guess the world is just conspiring against really nice and totally not racist Donald. ;)

why has he been forgotten and ignored in all of this? Does his black life not matter?

Probably, because he wasn't killed by the same people that were supposed to be protecting him. There's a difference between being killed by the state and a criminal.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Why would any Republican speak to a crowd of blacks that are biased and vote 93% Democrat by default?

Huh, so Democrats are racist but African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Weird.

They would never listen,

they haven’t listened for over 60 years.

awwwww....if only they would listen. Lol what changed 60 years ago? ( The voting rights act of 1965)

0 ( +4 / -4 )

ALL lives matter.

Thanks to Floyd for helping Trump get re-elected.

The silent majority will always win. The vocal protestors are just a tiny minority who never vote.

Cheers.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Bass:. Why would any Republican speak to a crowd of blacks

Exactly.

Black, meet bass.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

*How could any politician, especially one running for re-election, not be pushing a 'political agenda'.*

@basf4fThe people that want to unseat a duly elected President.

What?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

The vocal protestors are just a tiny minority who never vote

Do you have a link showing that as factual? Breitbart/RT/infowars/Fox'news/Qanon/8chan, anything else from the fringe/kook media or one of their sources.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The previous clueless president run on "Hope and Change" which was all gimmick and empty words.... for which Racial division worsened even more.

Democrats built this and now they are blaming the current president?

So how exactly... is this one man going to change the world....

Change first .... and then hope this time?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Huh, so Democrats are racist but African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Weird.

Not weird at all. Democrat racism comes in all colors. The party has always been in the business of racial polarization from slavery, the Klan, to Jim Crow, to affirmative action, to disparate impact, to white privilege theory.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Biden's didnt, so likely not. Doesnt seem to be the criteria they used to decide.

Do you think Trump's past incidents of proven discrimination against blacks played some small part in it?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Democrat racism comes in all colors. The party has always been in the business of racial polarization from slavery, the Klan, to Jim Crow, to affirmative action, to disparate impact, to white privilege theory.

Lololol So Democrats are the party of the Klan and Jim Crowe laws. So why do "93%" of African Americans support them?

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

George Floyd will definitely change this world.

A majority of Americans have shown they are against racism and aren't afraid to come out and say it.

The minority of racists, led by the president, trump will see the results of this awakening.

Not only will trump lose his presidency, he should be ready to declare bankruptcy on his businesses.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

One of the few republicans who came out in support of the 'Black Lives Matter' movement for Mitt Romney.

What a shame the others do not have the courage to offend the racist sensibilities of their president.

A sorry state the party of Abraham Lincoln is in!!!

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Black:. Biden's didnt, so likely not. Doesnt seem to be the criteria they used to decide..

Thank you for speaking for them.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

It makes more sense for me to speak for them than it would the "leader of the black community", old white racist Joe Biden, no?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

What is really sad is the flurry of racialized government and business policies that have been generated as a result of this tragedy. The widespread use of racism in response to Floyd’s murder is nonsensical. We don’t even know if the policeman was motivated by race. The governor of Kentucky has announced that he will provide free health care to just the black residents of his state. How can that possibly be legal? If it stands it would codify yet another form of institutionalized race centric policy emanating from the Progressive Left.

There is a sickness sweeping America - preoccupied with dividing the people based on differences in identity. Unwilling to live up to the ideal of a color blind society that came out of the civil rights era, the nation is quickly moving to a level of fragmentation that all but guarantees continued and ever increasing future enmity.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

They invited an old racist to the funeral?

Alrighty.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

This article mentions the "...demonstrations that erupted after Floyd’s death that were marked by bursts of arson, assaults, vandalism and smash-and-grab raids on businesses, with more than 10,000 people arrested."

Would this ever happen in Japan? Of course not.

Why? Japan does not have BLM.

ALL lives matter.

Cheers.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Trump standing with a Bible, photo op. Trump in front of a flag, photo op.

Biden speaking (on video) at the funeral of someone he never met and Dems in Congress kneeling wearing Ghanian scarves for the cameras while supposedly supporting George Floyd (is he from Ghana?)

Not a a photo op at all. Its stunning bravery!

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

I can find no evidence that Barack Obama was in attendance at the funeral. Its unlike him to miss and opportunity to lecture people about something he (and Biden) could have solved during their 8 years in the White House.

Did he not go so as to not take the spotlight away from Joe Biden, new (self selected) black community spokesperson?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Huh, so Democrats are racist but African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Weird.

I think that’s politically racist. So how has the Democrat party made the black community better?.

awwwww....if only they would listen. Lol what changed 60 years ago? ( The voting rights act of 1965)

Ok, so hows it changed the community, the poverty, drugs, the out of wedlock birth rates, the high incarceration and homicide rate, so what specifically have Democrats done to enrich black communities? How have they addressed all these problems I’ve mentioned?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Presidents frequently attend these kinds of funerals.

Give examples please. Obama didn't attend funerals for Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner or Michael Brown which all happened on Obama's watch. Oh and all cops/wannabe cops(Zimmerman) were acquitted on Obama's watch too.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Give examples please. Obama didn't attend funerals for Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner or Michael Brown which all happened on Obama's watch. Oh and all cops/wannabe cops(Zimmerman) were acquitted on Obama's watch too.

Bingo! But liberals have a short memory when it comes to hypocrisy.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Sadly though George Floyd's death will not do much in the long run to eradicate the police brutality and racism inherent in America.

The police will go right back to what they have been doing for decades, brutal choke holds, knees on neck, racial profiling, so on. The system in America is so unfairly decked in favor of the police and their unions and political supporters, that serious change and reform is just about impossible to enact.

It will only be a matter of time before we witness another video of police brutality, the never ending cycle.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I think that’s politically racist.

That makes absolutely no sense. Political parties are not races, there's no such thing as "politically racist."

So how has the Democrat party made the black community better?.

How was the Republican party made Alabama, Mississippi or Kentucky better?

so what specifically have Democrats done to enrich black communities? How have they addressed all these problems I’ve mentioned?

Nope, you're moving the goalposts again. If the Democratic party is racist, why do African Americans overwhelmingly support them?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Obama/Biden wouldn’t go near any funeral he could be held responsible for, such as these.

Obama didn't attend funerals for Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner or Michael Brown which all happened on Obama's watch.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

I think that’s politically racist.

What does this mean? Are you saying that black people are racist for not voting GOP?

The man who never gave a damn about blacks, who’s own political career is coming to an end and a man who’s own policies hurt blacks in the past.

In 2012 you said that you loved Romney, that you had always support him, that you would always support him, and that voting for him was the best feeling of your life.

Bingo! But liberals have a short memory when it comes to hypocrisy.

I've got your post history, much better.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

How was the Republican party made Alabama, Mississippi or Kentucky better?

Please answer my question first. Now once again, we are talking about Democrats and blacks that overwhelmingly live in democrat cities, so once again for over the last 60 years how have the democratic party make things better for black people? If you can’t answer it’s OK and there is no shame, but I thought you wanted to inform me with some examples.

Nope, you're moving the goalposts again. If the Democratic party is racist, why do African Americans overwhelmingly support them?

And what have they gotten out of it so far and what have their communities got out of it so far?

No. I asked my question first and you never answered, I won't answer yours until you've answered mine: If Democratic policies are actually racist, why do African Americans support them? You can't answer this, because you know your claim in absurd.

And what have they gotten out of it so far and what have their communities got out of it so far?

The Republicans must be absolutely toxic to the majority of black voters. The Democrats have failed them according to you but they won’t touch the alternative.

Can you imagine how rancid that party must be?

But they do which is a mind scratcher, so will you answer my original question or you can’t, again, there’s no shame if you can’t. How has the Democrats been so good for blacks and how have the policies completely transformed by community in extreme positive ways?

No. I asked my question first and you never answered,

I just did, your turn.

The Republicans must be absolutely toxic to the majority of black voters.

In the city where I grew up in orange county we had a lot of prosperous blacks that did exceptionally well, all have nice homes, great jobs, now you go to liberal LA County, it’s night and day. So if republican policies are so toxic to black people, and all the blacks that I grew up with are loving the toxicity.

The Democrats have failed them according to you

Not to me, I know most foreigners wouldn’t know because TV shows one side of the States.

but they won’t touch the alternative.

Can you imagine how rancid that party must be?

No, because we’re all fine and happy and if blacks are happy with the social economical situation they live in, more power to them.

Such toxic discourse. Hopefully, the platforms that glorify bigotry (and let it go unchallenged) will eventually be dismantled/taken down and restructured. That applies to statues and social media alike.

Racism is not an opinion, it's a hate crime. A crime against humanity.

Racist against whom???

It is ironical that the supporters of trump are trying to call out George Floyd as a criminal.

If we do a character comparison George Floyd will come out looking much better than the trump!!

That applies to statues and social media alike.

Which statues do you want pulled down/removed and what and whose criteria will this be based on?

Black bigotry? Because it seems like that is exactly what is manifesting, it’s basically you’re either with us or against us, you’re either with black lives matter or you are part of a problem, you are not allowed to say all lives matter, but you must say black lives matter, that’s forcefully being a racist.

(and let it go unchallenged) will eventually be dismantled/taken down and restructured. That applies to statues and social media alike.

interesting, let’s give into the fascists, that sounds beautiful.

Racism is not an opinion, it's a hate crime. A crime against humanity.

Does that include blacks and other minorities or are we talking about it applies to white people only.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Black bigotry?

Only a big defines bigotry with a race.

Does that include blacks and other minorities or are we talking about it applies to white people only.

All racists are a part of humanity, it's only the racists who excluded blacks .

I would not call that kind of a person a good person. Pointing that out is not racist.

That's debatable, but it's clear that the vocal few who do that kind of thing are well aware of what they're doing.

It's to deflect and deface. It's to detract from the event, the movement and the racism that is perpetuated out there and online.

Luckily, George Floyd's death will usher in an era of change. If it means upsetting a few mouthy trash talkers, all well and good.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

But they do which is a mind scratcher,

You mean "head scratcher." So, your answer, "I don't know why they do, but Democrats are definitely racist." Right makes total sense. Most people would probably start to rethink their assumptions by now.

Which statues do you want pulled down/removed and what and whose criteria will this be based on?

I don’t think any of it should come down, I think leaving the statues up is good, so we can teach our children about the past, the good and the bad the positives and the negatives of history and how not to make many of the mistakes from the past.

Racists cannot recognize the fact that the police has discriminated against blacks since forever.

So all the black police officers overwhelmingly in black communities that police and that apprehend other blacks are racists? Interesting....

Racists also find killing of blacks funny, that is not a surprise !!

The rioters and looters and Antifa also thought it was funny attacking, hurting and killing police officers

Slavers and imperialists. Tyrants and scoundrels.

They can be melted down or stored in museums.

I like the option the IRA went for in 1966. That was pretty definitive, in terms of making a statement.

That should have been 'All races are a part of humanity'.

Racists, however despicable they might be, unfortunately are still humans!!

it seem like radicals in black lives matter movement want to force white people to submit as well as the politicians, that is blatant racism, if you want to point the finger at racism be fair and call all of it out, don’t be selective please!

So all the black police officers overwhelmingly in black communities that police and that apprehend other blacks are racists? Interesting....

So all the discrimination against blacks over the ages is acceptable??? Pitiful!!

The rioters and looters and Antifa also thought it was funny attacking, hurting and killing police officers

Unless you were one of them you wouldn't know!!!

Calling a racist a racist is not being selective!!

Demeaning black lives because they are not your vote base is not just racist its callous!!!

It won’t erase racism or bigotry on either side

Good for them.

Vague. You didn’t mention who decides.

How about terrorists? Does it matter if you personally agree with their cause or not?

Coming from suburbia of a major U.S. city, all I can say is that I hope that there is a decrease in the black on white crime rate. In that area when police officers were shot and killed, especially the state troopers on the interstate high ways, it was almost always a white officer shot down and killed by a black individual. Hence, the really nervous feeling state troopers have when they pull over black drivers. I'm aware of this because my father was a friend to a lot of them in my area including the chief. Of course this high rate of murder of state troopers doesn't justify illegal and brutal assaults on black people by police officers, however, it's a tough job to be a police officer near and in any major U.S. city with a large black population. My friend's brother worked at a gas station outside of his town near a major interstate highway, and a black guy came in and pulled out a gun and robbed him. Did he stop there? With a gun pointed at the white guy's face and having the money he stole in his pockets, the black guy pointed the handgun directly at his face. The white guy pleaded with the black guy not to shoot him and told him that he'd just gotten married and his wife was expecting their first child (all true by the way). Well, he was shot anyway, but he survived. Unfortunately his entire bottom jaw was completely destroyed by the blast and had to be reconstructed with synthetic materials. These areas of American suburbia don't experience so much violent crime like this, but when they do it's usually black on white, not white on black. Needless to say, white people in these areas feel more comfortable if there's a bullet proof glass between themselves and blacks who are passing through their communities. Sad to say, but it's a fact and not one you usually read about due to political correctness.

It's a start. Not to glorify people like slavers or Stalinists or Middle Eastern dictators. Would you be happy if, for example, a statue of Bin Laden was erected on your doorstep? Of course not.

Good for them.

Do you know what I'm referring to? Do you agree with what they did?
