Greenland won't become a US State.

However, it could become a US territory. To become a territory, there have been 2 methods.

Purchase ( Alaska from Russia / Louisiana from France )

War ( Eastern US States from Britain / Western States, Guam and Puerto Rico Spain)

Denmark doesn't seem willing to sell.

I don't see the US declaring war against Denmark over Greenland, though Trump is just stupid enough to risk all cooperation with Europe on every level to threaten it.

Trump has about 1.5 yrs to accomplish most things in his wacky list, because at the mid-terms, he will lose any majority in both the House and Senate, making his a figurehead on a mantle, not even a bookend, until his term runs out in 1393 days.

If that's your justification for what he's doing then surely it's pretty clear to those countries that Greenland is already on the side of the US. So why push and try to bully Greenland ? It doesn't make sense, unless it's just for pure greed of the natural resources.
