A spoiled childhood has spoiled many a promising life.

"As chairman of Korean Air, as well as a father, I feel terrible about the immature actions of my daughters," Cho said in a statement. "Everything is my fault and my wrongdoing. I apologize to the people."

Very respectable of the father to take responsibility for his spoiled brat kids. But that doesn't mean that those two should be off scott-free. What's to stop them if they do it again to someone who crosses their path?

The notorious heiress was jailed but had returned to work as an executive of Korean Air's hotel affiliate in March.

iina! It's great to be wealthy.

You never know what the brats from rich families are going to do. Just look at the other examples.

I think the headline is backwards. It should read "Father resigns....." It's obvious that nepotism is a cancer at KAL, as well as many other of Korea's large corporations. The source of it (the father in this case) needs to go as well. The whole concept of apologizing to "take responsibility" is a cop-out, a real apology would include concrete action as well.

the person who had harmless water thrown at them should also be investigated for harassment, or something, because it is not normal to throw water at people.

Did you miss the part about losing their jobs, all positions within Korean Air? "The Korean Air chief added his two daughters will immediately step down from all positions within the company." I wouldn't call that scot-free either.

They're in their thirties. Should start acting their age.

Exactly. To be the chaebol head who triggers the collapse of the system is not an enviable position to be in. If I were his daughter, I'd fear her father's wrath more than that of the law - wealth always outweighs justice, whether give or take.
