Last year was Australia's third-warmest on record.

Warmest? Lol! I suppose next year they will call this year the "warmest" on record?!?!?!

49 C? Streets melt. Welcome to the new climate change reality. Australia is just going to get hammered. But of course the current government in power there now thinks the Chinese air conditioning companies are behind all of this in some elaborate hoax. Like Trump.

that climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.

Did you see all the dead horses up north, plus the fruit bars dying en masses, only female turtles being born as their gender is temperature decided. But no climate change connection

Climate change, ongoing conflicts throughout the Middle East and North Africa, Venezuela a basket case, trillions of public money spent on militaries to appropriate other nation's resources

while the globe's .01% use their powers to limit the expansion of alternatives to burning oil, gas and coal.

I love hearing all these zealots screaming, "Climate change! Climate change!" I guess they missed the point that Melbourne had the same temps a decade ago. In fact, most of Australia experiences 'cyclic' extreme heat and has done since records start a little over 100 years ago. There is no evidence to support these extreme temps are the result of any kind of climate change.

The hottest January day so far was 45.6 on January 13th 1939. Tha hottest January on record was Avge Max Temp of 31.0 in 1908.. Hot weather has always been with us though nowadays we like to say it's climate change... Mother Nature doesn't get a look in these days.

@PTownsend

i would like to add that the world’s 0.01% flew to Davos in private jets to discuss regressive taxes to address Climate Change so they can continue their gluttonous existence.

The climate is changing and man is a factor to some degree. In my field I see continuous efforts to improve this.

Tokyo-Engr, it is not popular to say it, and you will usually get shouted down for it, but quote: "The climate is changing and man is a factor to some degree." is exactly how it really is, IMHO. Nicely put. Thank you.

Oh yeah, I was cooked alive yesterday. Also, the power was cut off for a few hours at 2 pm hottest time. Now, I was ready to eat and cooked well done. Enjoy.
