I remember Paradise, CA, as a truly beautiful place. I

Rather morbidly I had a look round on Street View - it looked nice. Retained some of its historical character.

Essentially built within a forest, easy to see how it became consumed by flames. Really sad.

Professionals will research the causes of California's fires for some time; no doubt, each is unique, but hopefully practical measures can be produced.

That said, Trump would be advised to stay away. His presence will not only be divisive, it will rob time from the search for deceased and survivors.

I am sorry for the loss of life. I am grateful for the heroism of the firefighters.

If California had regular controlled forest burn offs, to destroy all the built up "fuel" a lot of this may not of happened.

These fires have been happening for years going back to the 80s they are very regular. It is almost like a season. They happen in Australia too.

California imported a lot of the Australian Eucalyptus trees which burn incredibly well - the Americans are slowly learning what the Australians have known for decades.

Trump, an anti-social personality lacking empathy, should just stay away.

Stay home and play golf.

Our family traveled to Paradise, CA, when I was a kid. We were thinking of moving there. Glad we didn't, now, but very, very sorry for the poor people who suffered in these fire storms.

I remember Paradise, CA, as a truly beautiful place. It was surrounded and in the midst of a very green and healthy pine tree forest. Things were green, damp, and smelled wonderful. I suspect that global warming caused the drying out of much of the vegetation, maybe even caused the death of many of the trees, and then high winds, high temperatures, and very low humidity caused a fire storm that could not be stopped by any amount of fire fighting equipment. Clearing out the forest of dead growth would help, but what does one do when global warming is killing the entire forests, and changing the landscape? After the fires are long out, the vegetation which returns to the area will no longer be the pine trees that everyone remembers.

It is very sad the EVERYTHING HAS BECOME POLITICAL

Um....but:

It is the fault of planning boards, real estate developers and forestry management service for letting it happen.

All of which are the result of political decisions so....

Strange no info on the highly classified nuclear storage facility that was burnt to the ground.

It has nothing to do with Trump. It is the fault of planning boards, real estate developers and forestry management service for letting it happen.

What?

Oh, didn’t you hear? The president has shown real leadership throughout this crisis, tweeting out blame without any basis and threatening to cut off federal money. Because when Americans are literally being burned to death in their homes, that is the response he thought his office called for.

Oh and now I see he is even deigning to visit California more than a week after the disaster started. How brave, he must have been told that it isn’t raining in California so its OK for him to go outdoors.

Have been about as many buildings burned down in California in the past year as in all other years combined. Warmer and stronger winds which will get warmer and stronger each year from now on. Need regular work bees and people employed to go out and thin forests to 100 trees an acre and to clean up dead trees and branches and leaves. New strategies for the new reality of climate change.

I hope they sarcastically slow clap Trump the entire time he's there, if not full on heckling. Demonstrate those 1st Amendment rights you're always talking about.

What? Well, anyway the real culprit in al of this.
