As U.S. President Joe Biden left for Europe to meet with key allies about new sanctions against Moscow and more military aid to Ukraine, he warned there is a “real threat" Russia could use chemical weapons.

Bronco

Russia lost over 8 million soldiers fighting the Nazis 80 years ago.

There are statues everywhere in Russia commemorating that sacrifice and Russians venerate those soldiers that gave their lives to this day.

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

Considering the ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are against this war, I'm not sure what you think the Russians are fighting for.

17 ( +24 / -7 )

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

If they remain loyal to Russia, I think they probably would be allowed to repatriate. Or perhaps, they think life is better in Ukraine, except perhaps for the Russian military trying to slaughter them and their neighbors.

I wonder how many ethnic Russians are in Ukraine and elsewhere in Eastern Europe because of Russia's history of demographic engineering.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Bronco, yes you are correct, the people of the Soviet Union defended their motherland, but in that reasoning lies the problem, this time the tables are reversed and Putin is the invader, not the Ukrainians. NATO estimates 15,000 dead, and the other day on a pro-Kremlin site, the numbers were over 9,000. Of course the Kremlin took that page down and said it was hacked, but even if hacked, the numbers are still comparable with other sources. Putin already controls eastern Ukraine as you would like, so why not stop? He's made a wasteland of the area where the ethnic Russians live, do you think they appreciate the destruction, misery and suffering caused in the name of liberation? Bombs and missiles don't distinguish between ethnicity.

21 ( +25 / -4 )

The fear is that Putin will resort to WMD to overcome the Russian military's shortcomings. And when he does, it's going to be very very hard for NATO not to be directly involved.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

They are threatened, yes. By indiscriminate bombing. Do the bombs know the ethnicity of everyone inside each time they flatten a hospital?

Not concerned about the actual Russians dying needlessly in the thousands? No thought for the cannon fodder?

26 ( +27 / -1 )

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

as long as mad man Putin is in charge, Russians will continue fighting.

7,000 to 15,000 Russian troops dead

& Putin will lose not one minute of sleep

14 ( +18 / -4 )

commemorating that sacrifice and Russians venerate those soldiers that gave their lives to this day.

after the Russians go back to their homes in Russia. there most likely will be memorials in Ukraine commemorating those who were killed resisting Putin's stormtroopers, along with memorials for the innocent women, children and elderly brutally slaughtered by those troops that participated in Putin's criminal invasion of a sovereign nation.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

No thought for the cannon fodder?

Chickenhawks have shown they have the humanity of worms.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

The other day there was a photo and video of a husband a wife killed by a Russian strike, they died under a statue commemorating the Ukrainian soldiers who died fighting for the Russians during the great Patriotic war.

‘it’s one of the saddest things you could imagine. For both sides

24 ( +24 / -0 )

More than 100 babies/kids were killed and many more hurt, loosing hand, leg....occident and/or russians have to stop its own dictator asap!!!

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Since NATO estimated that 7,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers were killed in one month of the war in Ukraine, makes me pause for thought as to why the world thought Russia has a super strong military. Because of Putins War, we all know that Russia has a military that can be taken down fast. Food for thought.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Putin must be worrying more about assassination by his fellows. it is understandable Putin always sits far at end of very long table while meeting. Putin may worry his fellows put sarin gas on his face.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Russian forces turning on each other and mistakenly blowing up a Russian owned refinery in the Donbass region.

Also videos out there of Chechen fighters fighting on the Ukrainian side.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

I wouldn't believe any figure Russia gave but at the same time this seems far to propaganda!

Is NATO saying Russian troops where using old beginning of WW2 frontal charges with halh the troops unarmed?

I will wait for a less bias source.

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

but are putting their forces into harm's way to expel the Azov Battalion from cities and towns.

No one asked or wanted Russia to illegally invade Ukraine to take out the Azov Battalion. Besides, the Azov Battalion is in Mariupol- not Kyiv, Odessa, or Lviv.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

Oh and if this was true, wouldn't that make Russia a very poor military and not much of a treat to NATO countries in the area, why would they need more troops?

That would be like saying the hand in an area have been crushed, but we are going to add several thousand more police.

-15 ( +4 / -19 )

There is only 1 Azov battalion they are area specific, from what I can tell they are focusing on Chechen invaders. They are not everywhere.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

Russia could flatten Ukraine without a single casualty if it wanted to by simple lobbying bombs, missiles and shells from a safe distance.

Says our direct news feed from Pravda.

By all accounts however Russia doesn't have enough ordnance to do what you claim. Their forces are short of ammunition and fuel and their soldiers beg and scrounge for food from Ukrainian families. For the most part Russian aircraft launch various kinds of missiles at Ukraine from inside Russia. They don't go over the border into Ukraine much as they have experienced high losses to Stingers and other MANPADS used by the Ukrainian military.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

Oh well…that’s what you get…nobody is going to go down without a fight, never again.

Quit while you’re behind.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

So they suffer around 10% casualties. That 150k force is soon gonna be turn into 300k troops if Putin truly get irritated.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

There is only 1 Azov battalion they are area specific, from what I can tell they are focusing on Chechen invaders. They are not everywhere.

What is ironic is that there are videos of firefights where the fighters seem to be Chechens, but they are fighting for Ukraine, not for Russia. Dude shouts Allahu Akhbar after firing an RPG at Russian forces. Could be a Tarter I suppose. Quite a few settled in southern Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR. Crimea and southern Ukraine are their historical home. Given that there are Chechen fighters in Syria there to confront the Russians I'd bet these guys are Chechens too. But here you have clearly Muslim fighters risking their lives to fight for Ukraine and then you have this brain dead Azov Battalion that by all accounts is anti Muslim.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Hiro - You may be right. That would be a shame and will only result in more dead Russians and Ukrainians.

So they suffer around 10% casualties. That 150k force is soon gonna be turn into 300k troops if Putin truly get irritated.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Multiply that NATO number by 4, there you have the death toll of Ukrainian troops.

That's right, as long as Ukraine continues to attack Russian ethnic groups, Russia will keep up its fight..

President Volodymr Zelenskyy said nearly two weeks ago that about 1,300 Ukrainian servicemen had been killed.

The comedian again, nice joke, LOL !!..

-28 ( +4 / -32 )

A few days ago western news was reporting that Ukraine had regained territory this was all the USA networks , BBC, CBC, etc... They have been saying for weeks how the Ukrainian are holding off Russian and winning.

But the next day we look at the map on BBC showing Russian occupied areas are each day they expand, including the areas previously claimed the day before Ukraine took back.

So the facts on the ground bases on BBC and other western news shows Russia advancing even when the same news service claims the opposite.

So who do we believe?

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

They don't go over the border into Ukraine much as they have experienced high losses to Stingers and other MANPADS used by the Ukrainian military.

See more propaganda.

Just last night on BBC and NBC pro Ukraine pundits were again pushing for a no fly zone saying the Russian Airforce was doing 150 to 200 bombing sorties a day.

So which is it 150 to 200 sorties or to afraid to cross the border?

-16 ( +5 / -21 )

This insane Putin and his mass murdering Mob are not only killing thousands of Ukrainian people, they are also killing thousands of their own Russian People.

When will the Russians wake up and recognize the truth behind these mass murdering Mob who rules their country?

Maybe Russia will win this war military, (what I honestly do not believe), but they lost already world wide.

The hate against the Russians are rising worldwide day by day, and as more this insane Russian Mob continues to kill innocent men, women and children, as more this hate will rise.

But the Russian Mass Murdering Mob is probably too stupid to recognize that, or they just ignore that.

But The world will never forget!

And so will the Russian mothers and fathers who lost and will lose their children in a war, which they are send to by a criminal insane mass murdering Putin and his insane Mob!

The mothers and fathers, who lost their children will never forget and never forgive!

Desert TortoiseToday  08:40 am JST

Interesting how you are ready to believe any video showing Russia losing but not mainstream news.

I know you are convinced I am some Russian Putin supporter but I am a long rooted Canadian with zero Easter Europe connection.

I am however very aware of Ukrainians as Canada's population is the largest outside Ukraine.

I watch the mainstream media during Maydan I saw the UPA flags, I heard the racist chants, I know what was being said by Ukrainian Canadians, I posted the laws the Ukrainian parliament passed whitewashing their Nazi UPA OUN past.

But you and others chose to somehow ignore it or dismiss it as not relevant as if the Russian minority in Ukraine was to just sit back and do nothing or leave their home because you and others claim they don't belong (despite historical facts). Ukraine has a history of ethnic cleansing the Azov Battalion is just the latest incarnation of that and has been supported by the Ukrainian government. But facts and history are not important to you or anyone else that is pro Ukraine.

" Why Be Informed When Can Use Feelings As Facts"

It is available on s t-shirt perhaps you would like one!

-14 ( +4 / -18 )

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

Russians and Ukrainians are the same ethnicity. If NATO says 7-15k Russians have died, it probably means less than 3.5k while the 400k strong Ukrainian army has been reduced toll sheltering among civilians and the Azov Battalion has been decimated. 40k Azov Battalion fighters trapped in Mariupol.

-15 ( +4 / -19 )

But The world will never forget!

Sure it will if suddenly they want something from Russia.

Facts OUN and UPA are war criminals in most countries but in Ukraine they made them national heroes Poland, Israel etc... All demanded Ukraine retract it but now despite Poland passing laws prohibiting OUN UPA flags and saying they are heroes.

Today UPA flags fly even in Poland

If you don't know who UPA was it was an ethnic cleansing militia that run around killing poles and Jews before during and after world war II.

People need to read the history of this conflict from the start , this has been simmering for decades and it came to a head at the breaking of the Minsk agreement by the Ukraine. I am not supporting Russia or Ukraine however when you back a bear into a corner and keep poking at it, its going to lash out.

People need to read the history of this conflict from the start , this has been simmering for decades and it came to a head at the breaking of the Minsk agreement by the Ukraine. I am not supporting Russia or Ukraine however when you back a bear into a corner and keep poking at it, its going to lash out.

Russia was not in any way backed into a corner. This is Putin's imperialist war to reunite Russia and Ukraine like they were under the USSR.

The beginnings of this war were from 1991 when the USSR dissolved and Putin was working in East Germany for the KGB. His pride was wounded and he vowed to restore Russia to its former glory. Unfortunately he has done the opposite.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

7,000 to 15,000 Russian troops dead in Ukraine

It's not so surprising as the similar figure has already been estimated by the Pentagon and others owing to OSINT resources. But a surprising and worrying point is its rapid pace. It took about 3 years or more to reach the same casualty amount since the outset of the Soviet's Afghan invasion (1979-) ; in Ukraine, it has taken only 3 weeks. Putin blew it completely.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

As long as ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are threatened, Russians will continue fighting.

and you think Ukrainian resolve isnt just as strong if not stronger, Sooviet were fighting for their homeland during WW2 just as the Ukrainians are doing today. 2022 isnt WW2, Putin may think he can win militarily, but economically Russia is heading for the toilet. do Russinans really think China will risk trillions in trade to western countries in exchange for helping Russia financially lol

10 ( +13 / -3 )

I am not supporting Russia or Ukraine however when you back a bear into a corner and keep poking at it, its going to lash out.

and there are two more bears ready to retaliate, US militarily and westerns countries financially.

Putins bear is getting beat to death by the financial bear as we speak

9 ( +12 / -3 )

The most frightening thing yet in the propaganda war: Corporate media glowingly reporting on Ukrainian child soldiers.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

and there are two more bears ready to retaliate, US militarily and westerns countries financially.

Putins bear is getting beat to death by the financial bear as we speak

The ruble has recovered to be just a touch under what it was before the conflict. Within a week, it'll probably be higher.

-12 ( +4 / -16 )

This morning, the WHO confirmed, that the Russians attacked 64x health institutions in the Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

Health institutions like hospitals and so on...

The WHO said, there are two or three attacks per day!

To everyone who still supports this mass murderer Putin and his insane Mob, and to everyone who still defends what these murderers are doing....use your brain and think twice, before you continue your support!

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Multiply that NATO number by 4, there you have the death toll of Ukrainian troops.

about 20 million Ukrainian men and women of fighting age in Ukraine, not even adding the 10sthousand of foreign fighters crossing the border, as long as the stingers nlaws javelins and ammo keep coming in there will be no end in sight for Russias invasion, personnel isnt the limiting factor in this war ,

imagine 10s thousand of Ukrainians and volunteers each carrying an rpg stinger ammo mortars spread out across the country side, airstrikes cant take out that many, this is going to turn into another Afganistan style guerilla warefare, except there are far more places to hide in Ukraine compared to Afganistan

8 ( +10 / -2 )

The ruble has recovered to be just a touch under what it was before the conflict. Within a week, it'll probably be higher.

not even remotely true,

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=RUB&view=1M

how does the Russian reserve bank expect to get its funding when foreign reserve wont lend to them,

billions in Russian assets have been frozen, interest rates are now at 20% in Russia.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Military strategists will tell you that to occupy a hostile territory successfully you need circa 13-15 soldiers per 100,000 of population. The most Russia could do would be circa 3 per 100,000. If the russians thought Afganastan was a bad idea, then they are in for a shock if they try to hold onto Ukraine. By all accounts Putin listens to no advice at all, and is an idiot driven by ideology.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

The ruble has recovered to be just a touch under what it was before the conflict. Within a week, it'll probably be higher.

Ruble to dollar exchange rate on February 23 (day before invasion): 78.6

Ruble to dollar exchange rate today (Mar 24): 96.7

Its true that it has recovered a lot from the lows it reached in early March, but its still worth significantly less than it was when the war started.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

AS - You may have told us before, so apologies if I have forgotten, but which news media are you watching/reading that are painting a rosier picture for the Russian military side?

10 ( +12 / -2 )

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=RUB&view=1M

Thanks for that. So the ruble has lost 5-10% of it's value and is rapidly heading into positive territory. And now the EU and Japan are going to be propping up the value of the ruble or not getting any oil or gas from Russia. When the ruble has completely recovered, probably within a week, 2 max, interest rates will be slashed by half. The ruble will rapidly weaken again over a day or two and then get it all back within a month.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

To die for all of the wrong reasons in an unjust war. Truly tragic. Hopefully the Russian mothers of the dead soldiers can start a movement to bring this cruel war to an end.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Of course NATO knows best, right?

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

The ruble has recovered to be just a touch under what it was before the conflict. Within a week, it'll probably be higher.

I think you should put all your money into rubles. Go ahead, tell us all about it next week.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

To lose a general is remarkable.

To lose five in a month speaks volumes.

Throw the towel in, Vladimir Vladimirovich.

Your people deserve nothing less.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

I think you should put all your money into rubles. Go ahead, tell us all about it next week.

Not a bad idea at all but is it possible to hold rubles in Japan? Can one even buy them from Sumitomo or Tokyo Mitsubishi?

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

Not a bad idea at all but is it possible to hold rubles in Japan? Can one even buy them from Sumitomo or Tokyo Mitsubishi?

Actually you can buy them in most supermarkets now. Just check the toilet paper aisle.

Mz16 - What are your sources saying?

Of course NATO knows best, right?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Mildly funny but doesn't change the fact that the ruble is rapidly heading into positive territory compared to before the operation to liberate the Ukraine began.

-18 ( +1 / -19 )

AS - You may have told us before, so apologies if I have forgotten, but which news media are you watching/reading that are painting a rosier picture for the Russian military side?

I never said anything about a rosy side for Russian military, I point out the contradictions in western news.

I can only guess things are not as good as Putin wanted or expected, that is clearly obvious.

But the one sided propaganda by western news is not any more believable than Russian news.

BBC, CBC both claimed on the same day that Russia's Airforce was doing 200 sorties a day then in a separate article on the same day claimed Russia wasn't flying because of SAMs fired by Ukrainian military. Well which is it?

And the western News telling us now 7,000 to 15,000 Russian dead, followed by another article of a hospital, school, shelter hit by Russian shelling.

But zero mention of Ukrainian military casualties, sorry if I find the constant lack of that detail a little on the propaganda side of things.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Ok, thanks for your response, AS.

There will, of course, be inconsistencies in reporting. It's not called "the fog of war" for nothing.

I will try to take a look for the sorties article and see if I can help.

As far as your next paragraph, I don't see an inconsistency in that. Both of these can be true, unless I am missing something?

Estimates I have seen of Ukrainian military casualties are in the multiple thousands of dead.

The truth in even this heavily videotaped war will not be known until after the dust settles. This is true of all wars throughout recorded history. It's ok to not know. Nobody knows for sure right now.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Honestly this article reads like a WW2 propaganda peice!

I am not saying it isn't possible but read it again.

merchant sea captain Sivak Vitaliy carried sandbags over each shoulder,

Yes we are tough, we are strong, we will fight with toothpicks if we have to!

This isn't reporting it is half reporting half rah, rah rah go Ukraine propaganda.

But I guess what is being seen in Russia is no different but the other way around.

But I guess I expected better from western news than state controled media like in Russia.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Estimates I have seen of Ukrainian military casualties are in the multiple thousands of dead.

Can you point to a semi unbiased source?

I have looked and other than RT which I wouldn't believe if it told me water was wet, I cannot find a military casualties report for ukrainian troops.

They like to only point out estimated civilian casualties, Russian military casualties but I cannot find any reasonable report on ukrainian military casualties other than Ukrainian government which if you believe them is in the extremely low one or two thousand.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

yes they have verified information from fact checkers, who have counted dead russian soldiers on the ground.

ok.now.

where can I report this HOAX?

or aka fake news?

or you still think people believes you anything you say?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

people are dying on both sides, property devastated, for what? I get Ukrainians are defending their homes their families, but a 19yo Russian boy? Doing as he is told, A Chechen? God only knows What the hell they are thinking? It seems pointless to occupy a country that don’t want you! At the cost of human life. It’s just so sad to watch. Pride is a killer when power in the wrong hands.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

This is the result of one country leader provoking the other to the end of his patience. Who suffers???.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Comparing the present war to WW2 is a spurious exercise: the Russians were attacked by a cruel foe and fought like demons to save their homeland from Hitler's hordes. Now Ukrainians are fighting like demons against Putin's conscripted minions to keep their homeland free from Russian enslavement. Their enemy is Putin's criminal Kremlin gang. The pity of it all is the gratuitous loss of blood and treasure. And we must never forget the true face of war: those thousands of poor dead children in uniform sent as cannon fodder to die like dogs by rich old men in suits and palaces. The world must find a way to make warmongers pay with their own lives. Let's hope the Hague will soon have a cage ready for those animals.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

I have looked and other than RT which I wouldn't believe if it told me water was wet, I cannot find a military casualties report for ukrainian troops.

Ah, yes. RT, Russian state media, is totally unbiased, and everything else is biased.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Your people deserve nothing less.

Putin, like Stalin and most other authoritarians before him has shown he cares nothing for Russian people or any other form of life of any kind anywhere, he's so insane he's long lost any semblance of humanity. But still some claim he has good Christian values, but then those that do tend to be members of the US ZQGOP cult.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Can you point to a semi unbiased source?

Any source that is going to have the best knowledge of casualties (the Ukrainians and the Russians) are inherently biased. We are going to have to read between the lines a bit for a while until things settle down and more accurate counts are able to be known. I have no reason to believe that the Ukrainian military deaths aren't at least in the multiple thousands. You are going to have to be ok with some ambiguity for a while.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Mildly funny but doesn't change the fact that the ruble is rapidly heading into positive territory compared to before the operation to liberate the Ukraine began.

I wouldn't be so sure, its been going up and down within a band between 95 and 110 to the dollar for the past week or so, not "rapidly heading into positive territory". The Russian announcement that it will take only Rubles in payment for oil and gas has pushed it up closer to 95 since yesterday, but I have trouble seeing what would cause it to move beyond that.

I note that even just in the time between this post and my earlier one the Ruble has sunk from about 96 to about 98 to the dollar.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Not a bad idea at all but is it possible to hold rubles in Japan? Can one even buy them from Sumitomo or Tokyo Mitsubishi?

I doubt it. But it’d be too embarrassing to even ask.

doesn't change the fact that the ruble is rapidly heading into positive territory compared to before the operation to liberate the Ukraine began.

That’s far from a fact. It’s also far from an ‘operation to liberate’. But you know this already.

NATO estimated 7,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers (as opposed to 1,300 Ukrainian) have been killed in 4 weeks of war:

The Ukrainian official released the figures on condition of anonymity.

Can this be real? Or the numbers are 'inadvertently' reversed.

Any clarification available?

And now the Japanese state is going to be buying rubles as well if it wants to keep the lights on. Putin squandered a lot of goodwill by blaming Lenin for Ukraine but even so, people should get used to the fact the Russians are winning. In the economic war and in the military conflict.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

‘Really cross the line and if NATO gets involved, quality over quantity 10 warthog aircraft will destroy anything in their target zone while the Russian crew scamper into the forest, steal a car, clothing and try to get home.

And then what if you are right and Russia wins? Wins what? A population that protest an occupation

How is that a “Victory “ ? Absolutely madness.

Pretty obvious the Russians are just waiting for NATO to get involved. Putin said before the conflict that he wasn't "requesting" NATO move back to where it promised the Soviet Union it wouldn't expand from but demanding it and if the demands weren't met, "military/technical" measures would be employed to do it.

Life is returning to normal in the liberated regions. Train services have restarted, people are reporting for work and etc. Some people are protesting and getting paid for it. Their job is to protest but the vast majority of the population isn't protesting. NATO/EU/USA have been raping Ukraine economically for 30 years. It's coming to an end and most locals are happy about it.

In March 2015 Interior Minister Arsen Avakov announced that the Azov Regiment would be among the first units to be trained by United States Army troops in their Operation Fearless Guardian training mission.[48][49] US training however was withdrawn on 12 June 2015, as the US House of Representatives passed an amendment blocking any aid (including arms and training) to the battalion due to its neo-Nazi background.[

In October 2019, members of the US House of Representatives from the Democratic Party requested that the Azov Battalion and two other far-right groups be classified as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US State Department, citing recent acts of right-wing violence such as the Christchurch mosque shootings earlier that year. The request spurred protests by Azov's supporters in Ukraine

Seems the only people that think they are a figment of some imagination are on here, even the Ukrainian government acknowledges their existence, but then that same government made Nazi war criminals UPA National heroes.

Pretty obvious the Russians are just waiting for NATO to get involved.

Best conspiracy theory of the day.

Zelenskyy will be “Man of the Year

Unless he signs a deal to stop the war as he has already tried ( BBC CBC reported) only to be opposed by hardliners that believe their own propaganda that they can win militarily.

If as we expect he does make a deal ( most western backers are pushing for one) then he will face more likely death from the Ukrainian right and you can count on a rise in anti-semitic violence in Ukraine by these same groups.

Zelensky is personally in a no win situation!

Zelenskyy will be “Man of the Year

Even before the war Zelensky banned two political parties and arrested the leaders of one, froze their bank accounts and etc. The other, the Communist Party leaders fled to Russia. He also ordered the closure of 6 TV stations which criticized his regime and banned by far the most popular social media platform. He continued and actually escalated the war in the east and adamantly refused to implement the peace agreement brokered by Russia, Germany and France.

So the Nobel Peace Prize, named after the inventor of dynamite, is almost assured!

The Ukrainians have an obvious incentive to under-report their own casualties, and there isn't really any way to independently verify the numbers either. I think it is safe to assume that the actual losses are nowhere near as lopsided in Ukraine's favor as the reported numbers would suggest.

There is one way that fascist Russia can prevent even more of their invaders being slaughtered by those defending their land.

Withdraw immediately and completely from sovereign Ukraine.

But still some claim he has good Christian values, but then those that do tend to be members of the US ZQGOP cult.

How would you know this concretely? I think you mean, you heard or assume.

About 15 Russian top colonels and generals have been killed.

That is what’s alleged depending on who you believe and which source. Needless to say, between 15-20 which is significant and if true would be somewhat of a demoralizing game changer, but that just makes Putin all that more dangerous.

Others in Moscow have resigned and a couple has left the country fearing for their safety.

Again, we don’t know exact details. I heard something like that, I also heard some have been imprisoned and some have been playing both sides, all kinds of stories from both sides.

I think the reason you're getting confused is that you don't understand the difference between a free press and propaganda.

The situation is confused. The information isn't complete. It is sometimes contradictory. A free press does its best to report such things, and doesn't attempt to fit it all into some larger narrative. Which is why a report one day might report one thing, and a report the next day might say something different. It's not some massive plot by the entire media in dozens of countries.

Many news sources that I've seen, including the BBC, state in their articles that the Russian dead figures are estimates and impossible to verify, and that there are no figures for the Ukrainian military dead. They are open about that. Neither side wants to release the figures for their military dead, which is hardly surprising.

I'm not sure why you're so upset about the media reporting about hospitals, schools and shelters hit by Russian shelling. Do you want them not to report that? Do you not understand why people would care about that? Do you not care about that?

There seems to be some weird kind of subconscious blindness going on where people are willing to ignore the big picture horrors of war because they're so focused on minor details like Ukraine (in common with all countries) having a few right wing nationalist nutters.

"Why do they keep reporting on Russia bombing hospitals and killing civilians, and not on the Azov Batallion???!"

If we start invading countries and using indiscriminate medieval tactics just because they have racist policies or politicians who pander to right wing groups then we're going to have to invade a whole bunch of countries.

But, as you admit, nothing in Ukraine remotely justified the invasion... so why do you keep posting posts that try to justify the invasion?

in 2015 Ukraine declared OUN and UPA National heroes.

And that makes it OK to invade a sovereign country, flatten its infrastructure, bomb hospitals and homes, make millions homeless and kill children?

And if it doesn't make it OK, why even mention it?

Now let me remind you that in 2015 Ukraine declared OUN and UPA National heroes.

This is nothing new. Why do you keep bringing it up? Are we supposed to feel less sorry for the Ukrainians, or are you expecting people to think Ukrainians are Nazis?

So which is it 150 to 200 sorties or to afraid to cross the border?

The sortie rate is probably correct but they are shooting mostly missiles into Ukraine from inside Russia.

By comparison the US was flying over 1000 sorties per day during Desert Storm. Most aircraft flew three sorties per day, changing out pilots for each sortie. The planes flew around the clock. And with precision guided munitions an F-15 or F/A-18, or a Tornado, with four big JDAM guided bombs under the wings (just a standard iron bomb with a JDAM wing and guidance kit screwed into the rear fuse holder, cheap but accurate) can hit four individual targets in a single sortie. And because the bombs are precision guided the aircraft can stay above all the MANPADS (like over Kosovo and Serbia) and attack targets directly with less costly and more abundant bombs instead of standing off and shooting expensive and less abundant missiles.

Blown up tanks, armored fighting vehicles, trucks and artillery pieces can be counted from satellite imagery and casualties estimated from this. The number of operators of their equipment is well known. The number of blown up vehicles is one way to guess at casualties. The number injured is estimated from statistics from prior wars that show on average three times as many soldiers are injured as there are killed. There are some pretty smart people in the intelligence community believe it or not.

How about a direct quote from a Republican candidate for the Senate, Lauren Witzke, who says "Russia is a Christian Nationalist nation, they’re actually Orthodox Christian, Russian Orthodox. I actually support Putin’s right to protect his people, and always put his people first, but also protect their Christian values. I identify more with Russian, ah, with Putin’s Christian values than I do Joe Biden"

No and I have said that over and over. But you and others are and were very silent on the fact Ukraine made war criminals heroes.

Because it seems that it is now acceptable to make NAZIS Heroes .

are you expecting people to think Ukrainians are Nazis?

What do you call a government that makes Nazi war criminals National heroes, anti Nazi?

This present day government made Nazis national heroes.

Not a past government the present one.

Doesn't that compute?

NATO: 7,000 to 15,000 Russian troops dead in Ukraine

Only one official figure to 2 March 2022 - 498 killed and 1 597 wounded from Russian defence ministry.

about 500 in one week, but it was the first week.

7000? crazy.

You totally forget that Russian Army unlike US Army starts ground operation the very first day.

Air support, not air war.

It was no ground operation in Serbia at all. Only airstrikes.
