And the U.S. deaths per day have risen again as well.

You know, when the weather warms up it will just go away as if by Magic.

118 degrees in AZ today. How warm does it need to be?

it really feels like under Trump, the Federal government has just given up.

Trump is winning! Check out the number!! Highest ratings in the world! MAGA!

it really feels like under Trump, the Federal government has just given up.

It's worse.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency denied multiple requests for a mega-COVID-19 testing site in Phoenix, according to Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego.

Today, July 8th in the US, the death rate went up. This may be catch-up from the long weekend (similar to the mini-spike following Memorial Day), or it might genuinely be the first sign that our skyrocketing case rate is producing more deaths.

The next week will tell.

Even one of Trump's media outlets is reporting PPE shortages. Again.

Medical equipment distribution companies say raw material for PPE is 'in a really bad position.'

https://www.foxnews.com/us/coronavirus-medical-workers-shortage-ppe-gear

Trump has surrendered to the virus. After all, it's mostly those NOT from his class who are suffering.

Trump's failures mount as the USA slides lower and lower.

The likelihood of ever seeing the stability of President Obama's terms lessens each day Trump/barr continue to enlarge their swamp and sink the nation.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

This is not good.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

Blame Trump for everything! Then if Biden wins the election, Blame him for everything..........American Politics!

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

The American cautionary tale continues to unfold.

You guys seriously need to get rid of the idiot in charge of all..... that.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Donal Trump is the real victim here.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

More than 60,000 new COVID-19 infections were reported across the United States on Wednesday, the greatest single-day tally of cases by any country since the virus emerged late last year in China. And U.S. deaths rose by more than 900 for the second straight day, the highest level seen since early June.

Well, there goes two of the fairy tales offered by Trump supporters regarding the virus....

"It's disappearing". No it's not, it's much worse now that when it was in the initial surge in Mar and Apr...

"The death rate is down". No it's not - as these infections increase more people will die...as shown by the numbers...

And as this virus intensifies and gets more deadly, what is our President doing?

He's criticizing Bubba Wallace and saying NASCAR was wrong in banning the Confederate Flag...

He's in his own little dementia-addled world...far from reality...

I am sure that Trump will win again!

The Americans will elect him again as president.

You will see!

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

Trump seems to hate the people and would rather focus on demonizing those standing up to his terrible stewardship of the US. Or statues. Or flags.

Thousands more (maybe millions) will perish because of this vain tyrant.

Rise up. Rise up America and be truly free.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

I am sure that Trump will win again!

The Americans will elect him again as president.

You will see!

You keep posting this, sport. Any reasons to back that up this time? His handling of Covid isn’t popular among the majority of Americans.

I like gambling on elections and I’m open to a non-partisan analyses of why Trump will win again.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I am sure that Trump will win again!

How so? His handling of the pandemic has been ineffectual and dishonest. He has presided over the rise of unemployment and his rhetoric has advanced the agenda of the far right. He has made his country a laughing stock and cosied up to some of the most repressive regimes on the planet.

Why would he win again?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

It's plausible he would win again.

A huge chunk of Americans are ignorant, selfish, cruel and care for nothing and no one but themselves. And they'll vote for Trump.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Most people definitely don’t fault him for the economy, he still beats Biden 4-1 when it comes to the economy, every poll shows that.

Please link to these polls.

The point is most people don’t blame him for the virus

The majority of US people regard Trump’s handling of Covid negatively according to every poll I’ve seen.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

@Jimizo

It is just a feeling I have, that America will elect Trump again.

Do you know that, that sometimes you have a "feeling" for something...?

Especially when many people complain about someone or something.

I am not an American and I am not living in America, and I don't know much about Trumps politics.

But he has my highest respect, because he was the first US President who made it real to meet Kim Jong Un.

And he was the first president who shows some balls by blaming China for the Virus and retreat out of the WHO.

Maybe he should handle the Virus situation better in the US, but is all that Virus problem in the US Trumps fault?

I am not sure...

If I see people in the US on TV or Photos walking around without masks, doing protests without masks and so on...

Is that Trumps fault? I am not sure...

-17 ( +1 / -18 )

Is there any correlation between these spikes and the demos of a few weeks back?

Is this all the POTUS's fault?

How would a different administration have dealt with this differently?

How many of these infected people are actually dying?

What about the children?  Think of the children!

Anyhoo.....

Trump is a symptom of America's illness. And by illness, I'm talking about a greater illness that permeates the country. A sickness that will take several generations to heal. Whoever gets to be the next PotUS.

Remember, America scrubs up well on the telly, but it's actually a third world country that has deep seated issues with treating its people fairly and moving on from ignorance and superstition.

The "trump-owned-virus" is doing great things for trumps re-election.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Let's take a moment to thank VP Mike Pence, and Golden Boy Jack-of-all-trades Jared Kushner for the splendid job they've done spearheading the Coronavirus Task Force. Just five months in, and they've killed more than WWI and Vietnam combined.

Jared certainly earned the emergency small business relief fund money Big Daddy Don funnelled to him.

What an abject failure.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The "trump-owned-virus" is doing great things for trumps re-election.

True, that.

I hear Covid-19 completely endorses a further Trump presidency.

Also, please link to polls showing a majority of Americans seeing Trump’s handling of Covid in a positive light.

The virus is getting out of hand. 60,000 cases in a day is ridiculous.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump is a symptom of America's illness. And by illness, I'm talking about a greater illness that permeates the country.

Unbending, uncompassionate, hard-line right-wing ideology.

It's pox among humanity. As bad as the Marxism they whine about, not realizing they're just more of the same.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Strangerland

Unbending, uncompassionate, hard-line right-wing ideology.

How exactly do you define "hard-line right-wing ideology"? As far as I can see, Trumps "ideology" is pretty much that of the traditional Democrat party (of which he was a member) before they went crazy and extremist.

Does "hard-line right-wing" simply mean "anything that disagrees with the current PC talking points?" It certainly seems like that. Would be nice if you could actually explain instead of just calling names.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

I think you have to be mad to care about partisan politics when the number of cases of a deadly disease are still going up. Stopping the disease is much more important than showing support for your man or your side.

The death rate per capita in the USA so far is about double Canada's, four times Germany's, and about 60% of the UK's, but will surely go up further with all these new cases.

(since this is a Japanese site, about 50 times the deaths per capita in Japan)

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@zaphod

Excellent point, on many issues Trump does lead and tilt to a liberal slant, it’s not like he makes traditional conservatives happy all the time, but Trump was historically a lifelong Democrat, so don’t understand what all the screaming is about....

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Trump's transparently calculating mind has always been obsessed by figures:

200,000+ by November and still Number One in the world is what will constitute Trump's ultimate MAGA bottom line. "Too Much and Never Enough" perfectly sums up Trump's twisted mentality to a tee.

Thank God the death rate is declining, liberals relax!
