The majority of Americans do hold Trump accountable. It's not even required to prove that Don "incited" an insurrection --- his assistance, aid, and comfort to the insurrectionists suffice.

Claiming murder while also claiming peaceful demonstrations is shocking.

There was nothing peaceful about it. The raw footage that I saw was people overpowering the police and breaking into the capital. Much of that footage was from the rioters themselves or security cameras.

A rioter was shot by a police officer. One was committing a felony, and the other was acting in the line of duty. He could have made a better choice, but I couldn't judge the officer in that case. I am just surprised that more people were not shot.

We all know what caused the riots. We all viewed the trend and the road to the riots. We all have the ability to use our intelligence to understand the truth. The politicians try to muck up the truth. We can all see through the lies and the mis-information. Politicians seem to think that the general public cannot think. Obviously an investigation needs to be done. The security failures and breakdowns are just too many to list.

The Mueller investigation led to several convictions and actually made money. It was a success.

A Presidential initiated and supported act of sedition that includes terrorist activity to invade the capital, of course the republicans do not want to investigate the details. Don't worry, there are new prosecutors in town and judges who are not Senators beholden to a whipped up base led by a narcissist. Trump has a lot to fear for his lawless acts, "find me 11,780 votes" or directly calling GA investigators. Georgia wasn't the only place he decided to call to change the vote.

Plus, there is a need to better protect the government in this current environment, and an investigation will look at the facts (not alternative facts) and make suggestions to improve security. Currently, the main threat is from right wing militants, but that threat could equally come from left wing militants. I don't see how this can be a partisan issue.
