by protocol Pence has to quarantine until at least the 7th.

whose "protocol"?

The cousin of the guy who knows whatshisname down the street?

Incredibly irresponsible, that after all the infections, we're still waiting for protocols be tightened up and observed.

After a day of campaigning Saturday, Pence was seen wearing a mask as he returned to Washington aboard Air Force Two once the news of Short’s diagnosis was made public.

Shutting the stable door, etc.

Covid is closing in on his campaign. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

The cousin of the guy who knows whatshisname down the street?

Man, will you read more!

Bob,

Published CDC guidance, which as the head of the Corona Task Force, he is likely to know, that who.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will continue with his aggressive campaign schedule after his chief of staff, Marc Short, tested positive for the coronavirus Saturday.

Because of course he will. The Jr. Assistant Super-Spreader in Chief will do as he is told......

whose "protocol"?

SMH,.... These are known and knowable facts. Not opinions, facts.

And I quote from the CDC’s FAQ page:

Stay home for 14 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19. (His COS qualifies as a close contact)

Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

If possible, stay away from others, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.

Graham DeShazo, Bob Fosse - I guess neither one of you read the part where all he's asked to do is

closely monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and wear a mask whenever around other people.

He doesn't have Covid, has again been tested (negative), and is good to go.

Who’s surprised? The guy works at the coronavirus epicenter, aka the White House.

That is not the advisory. I literally cut and pasted off the CDC web site. These are the guidelines, Pence is knowingly violating them and you are sorely incorrect.

It actually says nothing about staying home, but ok sure.

But dont worry, CNN can get Dr. Fauci signed up for the Sunday morning show to tell us how he is "concerned" in some way or other.

One more time:

Stay home for 14 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19. (His COS qualifies as a close contact)

Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

If possible, stay away from others, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.

This is a direct quote from the CDC website. I even bold faced the part about Quarantining for 14 days and staying away from others.

so wheres the link? mine says nothing about stay home.

You do realize that essential workers have a different standard, dont you?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Graham DeShazo - I think you're projecting.

For a guy who has been saying the election is a slam dunk finished deal for Biden, you seem pretty concerned that Pence will continue to campaign.

so wheres the link? mine says nothing about stay home.

You do realize that essential workers have a different standard, dont you?

And there’s the problem, essential worker!

The Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21): identifies 16 critical infrastructure sectors and essential workers. Campaigning by the VP is not included anywhere and, since Pence isn’t classified as an essential worker by Trump’s own directive he is supposed to quarantine for 14 days. Trump is again moving the goal posts to fit what he wants, the hell with everyone else!

I know one thing, Mitch McConnell won't be going anywhere near the White House or now Pence's office...

What a real Repub profile in courage...on the other hand, he knew Herman Cain...

Oh, and it’s now 5 people from the VP’s office and COS Medows tried to cover it up.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Campaigning for re-election (that according to the Economist you have a 91% probability of losing) does not constitute an essential government task. Ergo, in this situation he is not an essential government worker.

He’s just Don’s sock puppet doing as he is told and is complicit in spreading the virus.

88k new infections in the last 24 hours.

Graham DeShazo

You can’t comment because it’s a self-evident truth:

Neither Trump nor his sycophants give a fig about public health

Mind-reading is not "self-evident truth".

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Balcklabel: I would think the Vice President of the USA is an essential worker.

Then he should have taken the threat more seriously.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Bob, Bass seems to think that popularity equals credibility. Personally I disagree.

But supposing that he’s right; examine your popularity vs. mine. I dare say that makes me more “credible.”....

it’s a self-evident fact that’s Trump and his sycophants care not one iota about public health or they wouldn’t be holding super-spreader events in a Pandemic. That goes double when one of the principals has been exposed but chooses to endanger the general public for a non-essential event.

You are right that I loathe Trump because he is loathsome. Fortunately, none of us will need to endure his unique brand of sociopathic incompetence much longer.

Pence's COS infection is just the latest bad news - expect more of this over the next week...

President Donald Trump’s top advisers have plunged into a bitter round of finger-pointing and blame-shifting ahead of an increasingly likely defeat.

Accusations are flying in all directions and about all manner of topics — from allegedly questionable spending decisions by former campaign manager Brad Parscale, to how White House chief of staff Mark Meadows handled Trump's hospitalization for Covid-19, to skepticism that TV ads have broken through. Interviews with nearly a dozen Trump aides, campaign advisers and Republican officials also surfaced accusations that the president didn’t take fundraising seriously enough and that the campaign undermined its effort to win over seniors by casting Democrat Joe Biden as senile.

Finger-pointing is a common feature of campaigns that think they’re losing, but it's happening at an uncommon level in this campaign. Shifting responsibility has been a staple of the Trump presidency — and his lieutenants are now following suit.
