By reneging on the Iran deal, Trump just sent an important message to Kim Jong Un Any deal he makes with North Korea is not worth the paper it's signed on because America, under Trump's leadership, can't be trusted anymore.

Who believes anything this administration says anymore?

"Plans are being made, relationships are building, hopefully a deal will happen and with the help of China, South Korea and Japan a future of great prosperity and security can be achieved for everyone," he said.

This gurrier doesn't believe in security, I'm thinking the whole thing is a vanity project for him.

HE didn’t make the Iran deal. Someone else did. Just shows N korea that HE doesn’t make bad deals. Position of strength.

HE didn’t make the Iran deal.

You're right. The US made the deal.

And now the US is reneging on it.

And they expect NK to believe any deals they will propose going forward.

Seems like a reality disconnect is going on within the US.

But Mike Pompeo bringing back the 3 US citizens with him today. Explain that?

Trump not responsible for “US” deals when another guy was president, sorry.

Doesn't it serve Trump's own personal interests more to not make any agreements with Iran and N. Korea than to make any agreements?

On the surface, Trump's trying to appear to be a tough and strong type of peace maker, when in fact he's just the opposite.

Trump needs a foreign bad guy (or guys) besides Russia or China who he can kick around with relative ease from a position of military strength.

Explain it to the 5 US citizens currently detained in Iran.

Also, don't count your chickens before they hatch. No deal has been made yet, the dude just arrived. Next week Trump may be saying, "Nobody knew nuclear deals could be so complicated."

Butwhatabout Iran? the topic is N Korea. It has already been reported by South Korea news sources that the US citizens are returning with Mike Pompeo.

waste of time and money. If I'm arrested for a crime in the US, will the top polition from my country fly over in the cover of dark and free me from my jail time?

For once, Trump has managed to produce a sentence (probably scripted) that I can agree with - except for the likelihood that the bulk of the US military in NE Asia will find itself in the ME rather than stateside.

A deal that should have never been made, because if it was a good deal to begin with, then it would’ve been given to Congress, but that’s not what happened it was done quickly at the last minute just before Obama walked out the door. If Kim is serious about denuclearization, then he will do the right thing and release the hostages, if that is indeed his true intentions. If not, Bolton and Trump can still punish the regime by imposing tougher sanctions on them. They better be very careful.

I do hope the three get released, though it's sure to be followed by jeers on the right about how Obama couldn't get them released and Trump did. This is technically true, as two of them were captured under Trump's watch.

Well, I knew Trump and Pompeo could get it done. The prisoners just got released.

Obama couldn’t even get the North to denuclearize, what on Earth are you talking about?

Thank you, President Trump!

very good job, happy to see the positive progress.

Again, great news, hopefully more good news to come, if NK can denuclearize and all war can be avoided, that would be a fantastic outcome for the entire world.

But NY Times was complaining why can’t Pompeo delay his trip. Well there was a good reason, no?
