Wow, I thought I'd made a pretty harmless, inoffensive comment. What earned it 8 down votes, I wonder?

Meghan entered the chapel unescorted, offering TV viewers and the congregation a first good look at her hotly anticipated wedding dress, which was created by British designer Clare Waight Keller of the French fashion house Givenchy.

Harry, looking nervous, appeared to say: "Thanks Pa" to his father, and "You look amazing!" to his beaming bride.

It helps that it's her 2nd, so lessens the nervousness of being in a royal wedding

I thought it was a lovely wedding day - Meghan looked delighted to have the preacher speak. A very nice event.

My girlfriend went to a friend's apartment where there were five or six of her women friends having a royal wedding party evening. So I settled in comfortably at home, ready to watch a DVD or two. And guess what? I ended up watching the wedding, too, (so I would know what my girlfriend was talking about when she got home).

I can't understand why the Japanese commentators in the studio and the simultaneous translator kept calling Harry Henry. I know the Japanese media always do this. Do think Harry is impolite? The achbishop called him Harry during the ceremony; he called himself Harry during the exchange of vows. everybody calls him Harry except the Japanese media.

The other quaint thing was those old-fashioned vows about "for better or worse," "In sickness and in death," and "til death us do part." I mean, considering the divorce rates in every country, how many couples have broken and will break those vows? Why are they still a part of wedding rites?

Anyway, I enjoyed the pomp. Nobody does it quite as well as The British. Boy, wouldn't it be something to see a newlywed Japanese royal couple kiss in public after their wedding?

I believe he and his brother are both Majors in that regiment, equal rank being part of their idea. The Aglet's his brother wore are because he is ADC to the Queen.

Whose idea was it to invite that guy? The longer it went on for, the more cringeworthy it became. Practically every member of the royal family (except perhaps for the Queen) was giggling.

And why oh why did Meghan not invite at least one other family member? I felt so sorry for her mother, all by herself. I know her white family is trouble, but she has black relatives who have kept themselves away from prison. What the heck was going on in her head? In place of relatives, we get James Corden and Victoria Adams????? With that 'look at me' face, as usual. I was next expecting to see the Kardashians. I know Meghan is Hollywood-stuff, but how close is she to some of those guests?

I just hope this isn't the start of a trend for royal weddings.

I still sort of enjoyed it. I can just imagine how bored stiff I'd be with the formality of Japanese royal weddings.

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but a big morning dose of love and diversity and breaking traditions was exactly what I needed today.

I'm not one for the British royal nonsense, but I must admit I was looking forward to the broadcast and watched the whole thing with a glass of red in hand with the wife, reminiscing about the last time there was a royal wedding (in 2011) when we were dating! Congrats to the beautiful couple!
