Russian pipeline workers still have plenty of work while their American counterparts remain unemployed.

You are vastly overestimating the number of jobs a pipeline creates.

Call him a killer and then say he respect him and shake his hands. Talk about being a politician.

Trump was called out for being soft on Russia and being a traitor, but look now who is pushing to improve relationship with Russia. Democracy at it's finest.

Come on, guys. No ‘elbow banging.’ Even Merkel didn’t leave Johnson hanging (like that cover photo suggested last week). Everyone was cordial.

“No hugs, no brickbats: Pure business at Biden-Putin summit” -

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Exactly. Biden’s creating more jobs overseas than at home.

The pipeline was already 90% finished durint Trump's tenure.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

When asked if he trusts Putin, Biden nodded. Then later his handlers said he was just nodding “in general” not to anything specific question.

then he finished his day by screaming at a female reporter who dared to ask him even a slightly hard question. “Tough guy” to a reporter, nothing but compliments for Putin.

gave a list of things not to cyberattack. A list. Separate press conference allowed Putin to talk unchecked by himself to the world almost 1 hour.

what a joke this guy and his”handlers” are.

-11 ( +9 / -20 )

“I said what will change their behavior is if the rest of the world reacts”

That really has Moscow quivering.

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

what a joke this guy and his”handlers” are.

As a Trump supporter, I am sure you are a expert on jokes. But exactly how was this any worse than how Donald dealt with Putin?

3 ( +13 / -10 )

Through all the excuses, at least no one is denying that Biden’s actions have opened up jobs overseas while shutting down jobs at home.

You have no idea what you are talking about. You watch fox news and hear people meaninglessly yell about "jobs", thinking it has any form of pertinence. It has none. Pipelines do not create thousands of jobs. Their construction does employ a fair amount of temporary workers, as any construction project will, but once they are finished, it represents actual jobs for barely a dozen of people. And if you're talking about the actual construction, Biden didn't "create" any jobs in Russia, since the pipeline was already practically finished. If you absolutely want to imply something as far-fetched as that, then Trump actually created those pipeline jobs, since it was mostly built when he was president. The "jobs" argument is ridiculous in this context, and repeating it mindlessly won't make it relevant.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

How nice it is to have a president who didn’t drop his wrinkled pant and bend over for a two-bit thug.

0 ( +12 / -12 )

The desperation of Trump fans trying to pretend that their hero did anything but grab his kompromat ankles in the presence of Vlad is amusing.

I'm afraid that the book has already been written for Trump on that though; He did whatever Putin wanted, and Putin did whatever he wanted.

Putin caved, what a pushover.

I thought you liked this sort of behavior. It seems very familiar.

Through all the excuses, at least no one is denying that Biden’s actions have opened up jobs overseas while shutting down jobs at home. Makes me wonder what Biden actually “told” Putin inside that meeting.

So, what should be done? What action should Biden take with regards to Russia?

Just 2 or 3 ideas to get the ball rolling. Thanks in advance.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

he made clear to Putin that if Russia crossed certain red lines — including going after major American infrastructure — his administration would respond and “the consequences of that would be devastating,”

But Joe, didn't Putin strongly deny it? Surely that's enough to throw American intelligence agents under the bus.

Putin has reacted with whatabout-isms

Putin's supporters here in the US do the same.

So basically Biden scolds Putin or talked sternly to him and that will put him in his place and maybe he’ll see the error of his wicked ways and will become apologetic and they can be allowed into G7 group of Nations. China needs to also take notice and Xi needs to be prepared that Biden will only play nice for so long and then he’ll get angry.

For starters, getting Russia and China go take Biden seriously as Biden can’t convey that on any level, they’ll never think there will be a political price to pay.

Just 2 or 3 ideas to get the ball rolling. Thanks in advance.

You can’t even get to 2 and 3 if you can’t even get past the most important part, 1.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

You can’t even get to 2 and 3 if you can’t even get past the most important part, 1.

I think it’s more a case of you can’t get to 2 or 3 and give a vague airy non-answer for 1. As usual.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Putin has reacted with whatabout-isms and denials

So THATS where Trump got it from.

Jon Oliver did a great piece on this classic Soviet propaganda tool and its appropriation by Trump and his supporters a few years ago.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

You are vastly overestimating the number of jobs a pipeline creates.

They seem to create a lot of work for hackers.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

The Russian gas pipeline isn't on American soil, it on Russian and German.

It runs through Danish territorial waters too and the Danes aren't saying no either.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I think it’s more a case of you can’t get to 2 or 3 and give a vague airy non-answer for 1. As usual.

No, nice deflection and that’s not the issue. If you want to get anywhere in any conversation with any adversary (read your history) weakness is never respected and neither Xi nor Putin respect Biden and as long as they perceive that China is weak, they will punk him, they will sail their submarines in US waters, they will fly their nets closely to US airspace or next to our carriers, they will continue to hack or systems, infiltrate our institutions, infiltrate Hollywood and will push the Current administration and seize the division that is tearing the nation apart. They will exploit that to the fullest and you can’t move forward on any serious geopolitical issue if these 2 adversaries don’t respect the US President. Weakness is never, ever respected.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

Without mentioning Trump, tell me how Biden did a “good job”.

because he berated a female CNN reporter even their coverage has to be slightly negative towards Biden.

what did that comment about pudding mean and why was Putin quoting Biden’s Mom? Yeah really “position of strength” there.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

No US/Russia drama isn't bad for business.

Right now,.. what worries more is another virus from coming from China. On top of nuclear treaties I suggest defining few world standardized protocols when dealing with China and Chinese. Like mandatory hazmat suits and quarantines and extensive testing for known and unknown viruses.

Mr. Biden walked into that meeting with something no other US President ever had. NATO agreed that certain cyber attacks could be considered equivalent to an armed attack and invoke Article 5. That means a military response from NATO. Keep in mind the German Parliament was hacked by the Russians and the worlds biggest container shipper and integrated logistics company responsible for 20% of the worlds trade, Danish owned Maersk, was shut down for an extended period of time. In total, 50,000 company laptops were rendered unusable and had to be manually wiped and reconfigured. While no data was lost or destroyed because of prior backups, the grand total of collateral damages, including those to revenue streams of all companies inadvertently affected, reached close to $10 billion. So the Europeans are on board with confronting the Russians over their refusal to stop cyber criminals operating inside Russia and are now willing to threaten the Russian with military reprisal for doing so. Mr. Biden didn't have to say diddly. NATO said it for him.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

The Dittoheads have become Putin Parrots.

Infiltrate Hollywood? Lol. Is it that Seagal? He’s a double agent? How about that.

Without taking what you just saw on tucker's show without any context and repeating here with even less context, tell us how Biden did a "bad job".

And you think Putin takes NATO seriously???

Putin is probably yawning at their threats and staring at the ceiling on how to handle NATO and Biden. DT you’re so funny. Lol

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

infiltrate Hollywood

Lol, only the North Koreans waste their time with that. The Russians could crash the whole entertainment industry and it wouldn't bother me.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

What more can Putin possibly ask if Biden? Biden is destroying U.S. energy independence and working overtime to divide America.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Bright, tough, worthy adversary, great power. That’s praise to me. Didn’t repeat the killer comment or anything else negative to Putin face. Scared to even speak next to him went to an entirely different location.

refused to repeat any of his tough guy talk.....until he berated a female reporter.

He didn’t praise Putin

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

And you think Putin takes NATO seriously???

After US forces guarding a Conoco refinery in Syria did to some 500 Russian mercenaries, killing over 300 of them in a vicious 4 hour firefight back in February 2019 they very much respect NATO forces. They also got a taste of Danish armor in Kosovo. The Danes ate the Serb armored forces for lunch and you can believe there were Russian advisors with the Serbs. Likewise the Russians got to taste NATO airpower in Kosovo as all the NATO allies had their air forces involved. Thousands of sorties and only two NATO aircraft lost. The Russians were never able to break into Tora Bora but the US Army cleaned it out in two weeks. The Russians do not begin to have the training NATO forces have, especially their pilots and the Russians are very aware of that. The Russians know they cannot win against NATO and will not test them.

The “conservatives” seem to want Biden to go to war, which would fulfill their label of warmonger that they seem to have forgotten about.

Really? A fellow "lib" is taiking here about military responses:

because he berated a female CNN reporter even their coverage has to be slightly negative towards Biden.

Berate? That's a bit of stretch. Criticize? Chide? Sure, but berate? Nope. Besides, it's not like other presidents haven't chided the press.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Putin is obviously disappointed...he can no longer sit in a room with a US President and pull his strings so he says everything Putin wants;

“I don’t know how many times I can ask him if he meddled in the election, but I pressed him again and he denied it, and I believe him”. Trump added he believed the Russian president was “very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country”

https://www.sfchronicle.com/news/media/Trump-I-believe-Putin-denial-on-election-1121347.php

So Trump believes Putin and is afraid of insulting him....

No wonder the Kremlin erupted in cheers in Nov 2016.... Trump was, and still is, nothing but a Russian asset and Putin's Puppet...

Respecting an adversary because they a formidable is different than bootlicking ala' trump.

Real men know the difference. And he didn't sellout his own country in the process. Another loss for trump!

Another win for Biden!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I stayed up late and watched both press conferences live and formed my own opinion. Did you?

I saw a befuddled out of touch old man struggling through a very short public speaking event with preselected questioners. Who then at the end showed obvious anger management issues when slightly challenged by a female CNN reporter.

It was a disaster for Biden. total disaster. worse then even expected, which was already bad.

Without taking what you just saw on tucker's show without any context and repeating here with even less context, tell us how Biden did a "bad job".

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

did you miss the part where he said that he would turn over to Russia anyone in the USA who is found to be hacking Russia?

Did you miss the part where he said Russia can have their pipeline and got nothing in return, while cancelling our own pipeline?

did you miss the part where he accepted that Putin will not be returning the 2 Americans being held in Russia?

sold out, he was scared. where was that tough guy attitude he used on the female reporter when he was talking to or about Putin?

And he didn't sellout his own country in the process

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Right now the top story on Fox News is Biden saying, "What in the hell?' to a reporter. Posters here here are talking German pipelines and American workers.

If that's the best they've got, then Biden must have done a pretty good job with Putin.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

berate literally means "criticize"

berate: to scold or criticize angrily.

yep thats what happened.

Berate? That's a bit of stretch. Criticize? Chide? Sure, but berate? Nope. Besides, it's not like other presidents haven't chided the press.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

I’ve asked numerous times and been told the posters who fact-check Bass are the problem. Then, I received a 24-hour time out. Good luck.

lmao what?

That's the toughest talk I've heard from Joe. Way to go!

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

no, its more why cant Biden's performance be evaluated independently of Trump?

You know compared to an expected standard?

When you think "President of the United States" was that performance good?

I also was like "what in the hell".

Putin went for an hour talking to everyone. Biden took like 5 questions from a preapproved list, referenced his mother and pudding as he stumbled and rambled then berated a woman and left, like 30 mins or less.

It’s really odd to read Trump supporters criticizing anyone’s job performance. It’s almost as if they live in a different reality.
