So Kim is asking Putin to explain things more simply for Humpty Trumpty.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Seems like a great bonding opportunity for sharing nerve gas recipes.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Behind closed doors, both laughing at how they've got the man-child inside the WH wrapped round their little fingers.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

The last thing the world needs right now is Putin backing Kim.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Hey, if Putin can get Kim to denuke, he'll get the Nobel Peace Prize!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

After negotiating energy supply prices, they are probably going to be laughing and comparing notes on playing the current US President for a fool.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I'm imagining a fine bottle of vodka shared between the two while they're laughing theirassesoff about snookering some orange dude across the big pond.

Two of Trump's favorite people.

NK should only denuclearise when the US and Israel denuclearises. While the US has nuclear arms, ALL nations are at the mercy of the US, all nations are at risk of US attack, all nations are at risk of US sanctions, US domination. NK, US and Israel shold denuclearise concurrently.

Riiiiight... But China and Russia having them is no big deal. It's only the US you have to worry about...

Conversation moments before the photo shoot.

Putin: Screw the US for all it's worth

Kim: Agreed

Well, when you've been consistently unreliable with keeping promises, how is anyone supposed to believe you will follow through with denuclearization once receiving guaranteed requests?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Blaming Trump for the failures of Clinton, Bush, and Obama is hardly fair. Trump has caused many bad things, but nothing to do with NK. Those missiles were built under Obama, not that it matters.

There is a difference of opinion about the ideal end for all of this.

I would like to see one Korea, democratic, with a thriving economy, happy people and little risk from any neighbors of being attacked. This view isn't anything like what the NK dictator wants, so steps towards this goal are needed.

First, nobody wants to attack NK, except because they have nukes now. Remove the nukes and that removes all the attack risks. Save that money wasted on nukes for other, peaceful, uses.

Open all of NK for visits from the world. There are many people interested in visiting NK. Let them in. Let them wander around, meet the people, see how they live, exchange ideas, cultures, laughs. The money they bring will help the economy. Treat the visitors right.

Open the border for NK to travel. Let them visit any other countries in the region, see their families in SK. They will come back to their families left behind.

Open the internet to NK, in both directions. Start with the way China does it, but slowly, release the grasp, so more and more freedoms happen over years. I'd love to stop blocking all NK IP addresses from my servers, but at this point, they are use only for attacks.

Each of these things take time. Schedule them with specific checkpoints along the path, say for 20 yrs. As each opening happens, more and more business integrations can happen. This is good for the world, since NK without money to spend doesn't help anyone else.

NK is like a 10 yr old in the corner pointing a knife at anything moving around them. Sure, there are a few snakes, but there are also kittens and puppies.

I'm more worry about Chemical and Biological WMD weapon than nuclear weapon in N. Korean regime hands.

The N. Korean regime should be given up all WMD weapons and not only nuclear weapon.

The US, S. Korea and Japan must give solid assurance to Kim Jong-un and N. Korean regime for the US and its allies will not attack N. Korea in future.

I believe the Korea should be two countries rather than unified Korea as one country. It's impossible to unify the two Koreas because Kim Jong-un will never accept losing grip on his country and peoples.

N. Korean regime's human rights record should be ignored because the human rights and living standard will sort out once the country economy was taken off.

Korean peninsular denuclearization summit should be included Chinese and Russian Government. The N. Korean regime only get solid assurance from the Chinese and the Russian Government for protecting N. Korea from attack by the US or any other countries.

Both Putin and Trump have actually communicated with Kim. The way to move forward.

Japan, of course, has done nothing.

extanker: you believe too much of your own propaganda! This is why the world is in the state that it is in; constant war, constant US aggression and constant attempts by the US to control and dominate the globe. The US government and education system brainwashes its citizens with propaganda which they believe.

It was our excellent President Trump who brought this dictator to the table.

You word that as if it’s an achievement. When in reality any other president couldn’t have done the same thing, as the Kims were desperate for an American to legitimize their presidency by meeting them in person. None of the other presidents were so inept to have done what the Kims wanted.

Oh, so now Trump is "inept" for meeting with Kim. You're out of step with most of the world, which approves of Trump meeting and talking with Kim, Strangerland.

Its only the US that has used a nuclear weapon against a civilian population.

And it ended a World War. Oh, and you don't think that seeing the effects of that use has prevented others from using them? Someone was going to be the first to use them.

But one look at your post history shows your anti-American bias.

Kim Jong Un : Putin :: Kim Il Sung : Stalin. Continuation of cults of personality to govern sheeple-d peoples.

Gazprom want its pipeline down the Korean Peninsula. https://sputniknews.com/business/201806151065450772-gazprom-south-korea-gas-pipeline/

Russia wants to expand its Eurasian Economic Union. Kim wants more money for more nukes. China has its Belt and Road.

Trump's looking for more places to build hotels and golf courses.

Japan would be better off if they form close ties with Russia and let the US go.

Kim: Agreed

But...

Dmitri Trenin, the director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, said ahead of Thursday's talks that Putin will likely encourage Kim to continue constructive talks with the U.S., reflecting Russia's own worry about the North nuclear and missile programs. "Russia can't be expected to side with North Korea and, let's say, support the North Koreans all the way in the Security Council," he said.

Ooops.

Japan would be better off if they form close ties with Russia and let the US go.

Hahahahahahaha, oh yeah, that'll get Japan back the Northern Territories! hahahahahahaha

theFu: " Remove the nukes and that removes all the attack risks." Tell this to the people of Iraq!  " Save that money wasted on nukes for other, peaceful, uses." This also applies to Israel and the US.

Chop Chop "The N. Korean regime should be given up all WMD weapons and not only nuclear weapon." The US refused to ratify the ban on the use of Chemical and Biological weapons.  "The US, S. Korea and Japan must give solid assurance to Kim Jong-un and N. Korean regime for the US and its allies will not attack N. Korea in future." Did not the US give the same assurance to Iraq?

History is wonderful if people read! Before trying to lecture, one should learn!

This is such a weak excuse to blame Trump for something. Ignoring NK for this long did nothing but get us into this situation. Kim didn't suddenly build nuclear weapons overnight after Trump was elected. The Kims have been in charge of North Korea for decades, since the country was founded. They don't need to be 'legitimized' but they do need to be dealt with.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

It was our excellent President Trump who brought this dictator to the table. There hasn't been a NK missile flying over Japan for my than a year. Four more years!

And as for the missiles stopping - don’t forget that the missiles that started with trump are the same ones that finished with trump. Logic dictates that you can’t give credit to someone for solving a problem they created themselves.

Two Russian gas pipelines are already into China then Korea and Japan too.

I doubt it will happen with Japan

I'm imagining a fine bottle of vodka shared between the two while they're laughing theirassesoff about snookering some orange dude across the big pond.

Trump might be doing the same scaring down some KFC. Lol

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Japan needs a Russian gas pipe too. Trump/America could be replaced by Putin/Russia. Russia's Far East is very rich agriculture farming, enough to feed Japan

That won’t happen, ever.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Why because you say so?

Not me, the reality of the situation.

It's already been on the drawing table several times.

Yes, we heard that, but I seriously doubt it.

Pipeline through Russia into the Northern Islands then Hokkaido and down under the coast into Tokyo. The financing of the pipeline is what they can't agree on, not whether there should be one.

Just like with the Northern Islands....Yeah, but it’ll happen soon, of course...lol

Russia is nearer to Japan then America which has tried to force Japan into buy LNG shipped by sea and even built a couple of new terminals stateside.

Environmental a pipeline would be better reducing the costs too.

Ok, you can believe that, I do not though.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

North Korea should not disarm the nuclear arsenals! The bad people like Pompeo or John Bolton were empty threats, paper tigers! What North Korea should do is a closer cooperation with Russia and China! Together will make the warmongers stay off!
