Austria, the birth nation of the house painter whose political beliefs are being updated and applied by Putin.

"Nord Stream 2 is exclusively an economic project."

Right. Russia's just trying to give Europeans cheaper oil and gas, keeping Europe dependent on burning more oil and gas, which will ensure the climate changes the world is witnessing (witnessed except by those in the oil and gas industries who say it's just part of the natural cycle) get more intense, making Russian oligarchs, oil sheihkdoms, and global oil monopolies richer and more powerful.

Austria had a little trouble with fascists a number of years ago. You'd think they'd learn from history.

It's a pity that some can't see the MSM, like this Reuters piece as nothing more than Yellow journalism and hegemon propaganda.

The cognative dissonance is striking, or it could just be their dependence on the MSM. The irony is trying to pull Hitler/fascism into the narrative about Putin and not recognizing that it is the exact opposite.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Germany and the EU had a little skirmish with the US over Iranian oil and gas. Is it impossible for some to see things in context?

Lucky woman, I would love to dance with him. He’s not bad for his age. The guy swims in frozen lakes.

@fixzb ull Hitler/fascism into the narrative about Putin

Maybe there'a a reason for the connection.

Fascism | Definition of Fascism by Merriam-Webster

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism

1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Another possibility is he's just trying to re-make a tsarist type monarchy.

@PTownsend

whose political beliefs are being updated and applied by Putin

I presume to ask for any proof of that statement is hopless. By the way, it was not Putin who proclaimed the idea of unilateraism ("America uber alles"), the updated variant of ideas of a certain Austrian painter.

Russia's just trying to give Europeans cheaper oil and gas

How dare it! And how dare these naughty Europeans to buy the cheap gas! They must buy American LNG!! Its price about thirty percent higher, but who cares! It is NATO-approved democratic gas, buy it for the sake of American oligarchs!

@CrazyJoe

Austria had a little trouble with fascists a number of years ago. You'd think they'd learn from history

Yes, Austria learned from its nazi past. It's not a NATO member.

A short direct pipeline from Russia to Germany is by far the most environmentally friendly way to supply German with clean Natural gas.

Makes absolutely No sense, Germany pays Russia Billions for their gas, but moan when the President asks them to pay more for their part as a NATO member to protect them from the very people they’re laying in bed with. No wonder the President was teed off.

The money they save on gas could then be put on NATO's 2%

@burnbush clean Natural gas.

Is this the new marketing slogan for the hydrocarbon industry, the people who tried to push 'clean coal'?

That natural gas pollutes less than coal and oil is true, but google it yourself to see how 'clean' it is.

Waiting for 'can't prove it'!
