Keep provoking Russia and you will have your consequences...
Ukraine should stop being the pawn of NATO circus and make negotiations with Russia ASAP before it lose more country...

And yet many living in democracies continue to support Putin and seem to prefer regimes led by what has historically been called a 'strongman', the pro authoritarians have a need for a big brother (king, tsar, caesar, kaiser, dictator) to take control so the strongman can have his security forces put jackboots on the throats of enemies real and imagined. Speaking of 'imagined', Russia's deranged little leader Putin still imagines he controls the USSR and all people that ever lived there. And he has shown if any of his enemies leave for another country he can have some of his many thugs bring Novichok with them to try to erase his enemies. And Putin has ben chosen (so some claim) to lead Russia until 2036, when he'll be able to rule his people just like Xi Jin ping, much to the delight of pro-authoritarians everywhere, who will be even happier if Putin's pal the document thief and his klan return to office

TokyoLiving - Ukraine is gaining their country back. Russia has had net losses of Ukrainian territory since July and this trend will likely continue.

Pro-Russian forces would not be evacuating (by Ferry) the region if they had confidence they could hold it. Personally the evacuation looks dodgy as the people filmed aren’t carrying personal possessions and give the appearance of day trippers not evacuees. I would guess Ferries are prioritised with military supplies rather than civilians. Ukrainian forces continue to take ground, By issuing evacuation orders and imposing martial law the Russians are admitting that things are dire.

Yes America do not have a blank check for Ukraine, that a factor in the war,the news of Ukraine did not want to hear
Haaa Nemui
You ensured failure way back in February.
Haaa Nemui
Nope. Just checked. Still not 2023.
Mark
At some point Mr. Putin will come to realize that he simple CAN'T win against a well determined Ukraine that is fighting for it's survival.
bass4funk
Not so sure about that one.
Then how can Putin declare martial law?
Haaa Nemui
Very desperately.
UChosePoorly
Bass - please take a look at the maps from July and the ones from October and let me know if you still feel this way.
Putin can declare whatever he wants. He is currently able to enforce it in the portions of the oblasts that he holds. Not so much in the liberated areas.

How far are the Ukranian forces from Kherson? Despite recent gains, I thought that they were still some distance away.
ok1517
So, those Russians are going to use those civilians (who want to leave) as a human shield.
They are just so great at committing war crimes!
Concerning: "How far are the Ukranian forces from Kherson? Despite recent gains, I thought that they were still some distance away." They are very close, quoting a friend of mine who lives in th area. Expect Kherson and the whole Kerson area to be liberated from those Russian aggressors very soon!
Ukraine will prevail!
justasking
Russian military can’t even hold their illegally occupied teritories. How can they expect to implement a “martial law”?
ClippetyClop
Amen to that!
Michael Machida
I thought Russia was strong. No? They are not? ;-))

Russia has no right to be there.
Wrong place to showcase an invasion.
Russia, keep provoking Ukraine like this and the consequences will simply go from bad to worse.

Putin's martial law is as illegal as annexing the four Oblasts. They are part of Ukraine, not Russia. Putin is increasingly becoming more dangerous.
Azzprin
Putin must wish by now that he had not invaded Ukraine.
Losing ground, troops and war material in Ukraine
Facing more angry Russians at home as the people start more protests against the war.
Tens of thousand flee Russian to avoid being called up.
Lacking proper equipment and training soldiers being sent to the front. Just like cattle to the slaughter.
The dead Russians solder just rotting where they fell. Left behind as their fellow soldiers ran for their lives.
Seapig
@ Bass
The same way I could declare I’m annexing Moscow??

Putin, has really no real outcome of American economy even the Fed cannot slow down the American economy, only thing Russian sell to American are bullets , American are buying 10 of billion of Chinese Christmas junk, that they will throw away after Christmas ,China is reason for the Season

@TokyoLuving
If your own country was invaded by a hostile and aggressive neighbor, would you be happy if somebody said: “Oh, don’t help the invaded country or you’ll provoke the invader to attack us.” . . . ????
Don’t wuss out. Stand up!
nandakandamanda
Putin, pull out now and it’s a win-win for all. You’ve shown Ukraine what you are capable of, and they have got the message.

Martial law gives Putin new tools:
(1) He can order the removal of ethnic Ukrainians - ethnic minority removals were common under Stalin. Though not physical extermination it may be cultural erasure.
(2) He can order his army to undertake harsher anti-partisan activity (partisan activity has been reported between Kherson and Mariupol). In effect, resistance of any kind could be considered partisan activity. Will Russian anti-partisan activity outperform the Nazis?

So how much are you paid to post this disinformation? Must be more than what Russian troops are getting, otherwise I'm sure you'd eagerly sign up to join them.
Mike
I heard that Russian mobilized troops are getting paid $20 per day. Got the info on Youtube so not sure if it's true but hearing the state of Russia, I would'nt be surprised.

Putin promised to protect those people when he illegally annexed the Oblasts but now has to evacuate 60,000 who cannot protect.

In the background of this conflict is the recollection that in the 1990s Ukraine gave up thousands of nuclear weapons, both tactical and strategic, under assurances from Russia, the USA, and Great Britain, that Ukraine's territorial integrity would be guaranteed.
Of course, Mr. Putin renounced those assurances, but what about the USA and Great Britain? Is it enough to give Ukraine weapons? Would Putin dare to attack a nuclear armed country?
1glenn
On the subject of getting paid.......I remember going into the American armed forces. We got uniforms, food and shelter, and a few dollars a day. By world standards, we were overpaid.
Blacklabel
So what happens when the US runs out of weapons they are willing to give and cancels the blank check amount money donations?
should negotiate before that happens not after.
cleo
There are no winners in war.
He's shown the world what he is incapable of. Hopefully he will soon get the message.
He tried to scare the Ukrainians into submission with his cheap Iranian kamikaze bargain-basket drones; instead he's made them livid and more determined than ever to kick him and his conscripts out of their country.
What??
What??
I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were trolling.
Thanks for the chuckles.

His declaration and $5 won't buy Putie a cup of Starbucks even because:
A) Starbucks left Russia not wanting the reputational risk of being associated with a war criminal thug-ocracy.
B) Mini-Me's so-called "declaration" is about as real over territory that he doesn't or won't control as Hershel Walker's Trophy Case Badge.
