Refugee count tops 1 million as Russians besiege Ukraine ports

Russia with delusions that NATO is a danger.

If any excuse was needed for someone, anyone wanting to attack Russia, they now have it. Surprise, no nation is lining up to fight Russia, NATO is not bombing Russia and this situation would provide ample "excuse" if it wanted one.

This proves beyond doubt that nobody is interested in invading Russia or having military conflict with Russia. Putin's fears about NATO danger is only in his mind. Nobody but the crazy attack nuclear super powers. Or even middle of the road nuclear powers. NOBODY!

Russia has an inferiority complex when it comes to the West. Nothing more. Ukraine paying for Putin's personal fears.

This is disgusting. No doubt the Putin apologists will be on here soon to remind everyone of bad things some random Ukrainians once did or to blather on about Kosovo or whatever as if any of that some how justifies turning millions into refugees.

but absent all the propaganda, lies and corruption on Ukraine side, Russia is still to blame for all of this.

It is really sad and unnecessary that this has escalated to the lever where 1 million people have become refugees and people have died. That is entirely the fault of Russia and Putin and is unjustified and unprovoked.

Ukraine side needs to stop trying to win the information war in the media with more and more lies. their cause is righteous and they are the victim here. I know the President is a TV guy but stop making up fake stories to manipulate emotions.

Every story about Ukraine has apologists popping up to complain 'what about this unit?' or 'what about discrimination?' or 'but this news wasn't accurate' to try and deflect attention away from the fact that Russia is invading a sovereign nation, using indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations, probably committing war crimes, sacrificing their own ill prepared soldiers, manipulating their own media to a massive degree, threatening to use nuclear weapons if anyone interferes, etc..

I'm sure Ukraine and the west aren't perfect, but any flaws they have are frankly pretty irrelevant by comparison right now.

If Russians ever invaded the US, I would guess that members of the KKK, Neo-Nazis and other thugs would probably join in the fight against them. It would be equally irrelevant and stupid to act as if this fact somehow justifies the Russian invasion in the name of fighting Nazis.

I'm not a "liberal", I don't give a crap about culture war stuff. But for what it is worth it is the self identified lefties crying about Nazis in Ukraine that I find the most obnoxious right now.

Ynet's reproter in Kyiv, however, said after visiting the site the memorial was not harmed and no bomb, missile or artillery shell hit the site itself.

Doesnt change the entire situation, but stop lying and defending and making excuses for liars and propagandaists just because you want to support their team.

Then the world can focus on what is real and nothing distracts from the focus being on the human crisis of these refugees.

I hate nazis and racists as much as the next guy, but if my country is being invaded by a numerically superior force and our very existence is at stake, I am not going to turn down their help. We can deal with the nazi issue after the invader is kicked out.

I'll comment: Nazis are unequivocally bad. Lies and propaganda are normally also bad, but I am going to reserve judgment until the fog of war has cleared a bit here. I am certainly not going to fault Ukraine for also waging an information war. They didn't choose this war, and again, their very existence is at stake.
