This coprophagist is going down in flames. The only embarrassment is how close the margin was.

“Jim, at some point, if he’s going to lead this conference during the presidential election cycle and particularly in a presidential election year ... is going to have to be strong and say Donald Trump didn’t win the election and we need to move forward,” Buck said.

Good on Ken Buck. I wish more Republicans had the cahones to stand up for the truth instead of for their orange idol.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., . . . berated those who have not.

From the putz who started the whole mess.

I was looking at the website for The Center for Effective Lawmaking today. They have a formal methodology for measuring the effectiveness of each lawmaker in Congress based on the number of bills submitted (commemorative, substantial or substantial and significant), heard by a committee, acted on beyond a committee, voted on and passed.

One usually thinks of a Speaker of the House as a legislator and deal maker. That has been the tradition until recently it seems. However for the 117th House Kevin McCarthy only scored 0.028 with 3 substantive bills submitted but no action in committee or beyond committee. Jim Jordan has the fourth lowest score of any member of Congress from either party at 0.009. He submitted one substantial bill that never passed out of a committee.

Even the much reviled AOC scored a 0.739 with 14 substantive bills submitted, 4 acted on by a committee and 4 with action beyond a committee.

By comparison Hakeem Jeffries scores 4.181 with 18 Substantive bills submitted, 8 of these being voted on and 3 becoming law plus two more Substantive and Significant bills being submitted and making it to a floor vote with one of these becoming law.

Rachel Maddow (Rachel Madcow) brought up and interesting question. Imagine relying on Jim Jordan to certify an election in which Donald Trump was the Republican candidate for President and he didn't win. Scary thought isn't it.

Ok, so J6 is still on Buck’s mind at this point? Well, the vote will continue with or without a swamp RINO, doubt if anyone even paid attention to this guy.

There is a reason why Maddie’s show and that network is just sliding down the toilet, LOL

Certainly doesn't sound good, but one thing I will point out is the next congress will be sworn in on January 3rd, 2025, and the election is to be certified on January 6th, 2025.

Ok, so J6 is still on Buck’s mind at this point?

As it should be for any American who values democracy.

Yes, anyone who does not put their loyalty to Trump ahead of loyalty to the constitution is a rino. Brilliant.

It's still on Trump's mind. It's at the center of MAGA world.

Heretic! He is not of the body! I bet he's a Marxist, too!

Anyway, Jordan is a traitor to the Constitution of the United States and to the abused wrestlers at Ohio State.

What a circus!

The show must go on!

Good point.

If McCarthy is more moderate than Jordan, would it not have been clever for some Democrats to vote to keep McCarthy as speaker?

Did they want to have Jordan rather than McCarthy?

Isn’t Jordan the guy leading the impeachment investigation into the Biden family’s alleged influence peddling? Do the Democrats want him having meetings with Biden?

It’s fascinating.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Making the official nominating speech was another top Trump ally, GOP conference chairwoman Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, who drew from the lessons of the Old Testament before declaring Jordan will be “We the People’s speaker.”

Given Jordan's history at Ohio U, the theocratic agenda of his wing and don't forget the treason there are a hell of a lot of ironies here.

She’s a grandma now, she should focus on her grandkids.

What!? If being a grandparent disqualifies any one from an elected official position you just disqualified everyone you like.

It’s a shame boebert will have to retire at 36 but you know, she’s a grandma now, she should focus on her grandkids.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

YUP, so much for MAGA fans, and Mr. Kevin McCarthy is sitting in the back saying , "Si I told ya" LOL

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Jim Jordan is the man!

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

This is useful to create a list of people to vote out of office next time.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, who drew from the lessons of the Old Testament

Coming from a woman who sold her soul for political power.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Says the people who obsessively continue trying (unsuccessfully) to take out the former President

Heretic! He is not of the body! I bet he's a Marxist, too!

Yes, and Jeffrey's is a secret Republican.

Anyway, Jordan is a traitor to the Constitution

Not him, but the people who think they know better than the average US voter and want to take their first amendment rights away in thinking they know what is best for us is at the very least treasonous

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

This is useful to create a list of people to vote out of office next time.

Sure. A heads-will-roll purge against those who aren't MAGA enough. Bet that'll be a big win for the GOP in swing districts.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Having a supposed Republican in office who votes against what the voters and their team wants and has decided to do are useless.

throw them out.

So bye bye freedom caucus? Or do you make exceptions when it suits you?

Cancel culture ? Say it ain't so........

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Did they want to have Jordan rather than McCarthy?

It's a difference without a distinction. Remember Kevin McCarthy was as deeply involved in trying to prevent the certification of the election results as Jim Jordan was. Then you read Kevin McCarthy's weasel word reply to a reporter asking him his feelings about Donald Trump dissing Benjamin Netanyahu and calling Hamas smart and you know the guy is a spineless microbe, an amoeba, in a suit.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Bye bye to whoever votes against what the voters who sent them there in the first place want.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Bye bye to whoever votes against what the voters who sent them there in the first place want.

And bye-bye to the MAGA who are going for Jordan.

The normal people of America don't want extremists.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Has America ever had a group of "leaders" who were as ineffectual at leadership as the Republicans are right now?

That's the problem when you put anarchists in a position that is the opposite of anarchy. They're entirely clueless.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Bye bye to whoever votes against what the voters who sent them there in the first place want.

Don’t forget ‘what their team want’. No need to edit yourself.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

As Jeffries and Raskin were in 2016

I think Trump was spot on, whether Jordan agrees with the statement or not that is his choice, we have serious issues with the country, Biden is messing up everyone and the press is worried about that. I like Jordan, but if a reporter asked me that question, I would tell them to go milk a rubber duck. Either Jordan or McHenry will be the speaker, preferably Jordan, but we shall see.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

throw them out.

Yep, throw them all out. The GOP is against American interests, and their attempts at actually governing are showing just how incompetent they are at it.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Cancel culture ? Say it ain't so........

The Republicans have perfected cancel culture. And they try to cancel people who say that out loud.

Try being a GOP and saying Trump didn't actually win in 2020 - cancelled!

In states with grotesquely gerrymandered districts designed specifically to dilute democratic votes in Congressional districts even in states where Democrats are a majority and elect Democratic governors.

Wait, but gerrymandering is acceptable when Dems do it? Why?

https://calmatters.org/commentary/2022/12/supreme-court-redistricting-democrats-gerrymander-california/

Don't worry, California and NYC are safe from the clutches of Republicans, you guys can keep your chaos.

No, video does.

C-Span is far from anything right.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Step one of effective leadership: Choose a leader.

Republicans can't even figure out step one.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Jim Jordan is calling for "unity" now.

Unity is when the voters elect someone, and you don't support the guy who tries to overthrow democracy. He has proven he's fundamentally not into unity, so his calls for it ring empty to any People of Intelligence.

BlacklabelToday 11:09 am JST

Pretty well thanks for asking.

a day that Dems aren’t able to give 250 million to ukraine each day is a good day.

There won't be a dollar for Israel, too, while it goes on. If you don't think the two will be linked to get over the treason caucus, you have another thing coming.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Bye bye to whoever votes against what the voters who sent them there in the first place want.

lol The reason Gym Jordan hasn't secured enough votes is because he isn't who voters want.

Rather funny how the far right here thinks the majority of the country wants what they want when that obviously isn't true.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Rather funny how the far right here thinks the majority of the country wants what they want when that obviously isn't true.

It's only obvious if you aren't partaking in far-right extremist media in America. If you're partaking in that media, it's all "Biden is the devil".

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The reason Gym Jordan hasn't secured enough votes is because he isn't who voters want.

did “the voters” vote on this? Nope. They expect their representatives to be team players.

JIM Jordan.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

did “the voters” vote on this? Nope. They expect their representatives to be team players.

Gym Jordan supported a coup - is that being a team player?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

did “the voters” vote on this? Nope. They expect their representatives to be team players.

Ah yes, by team players you mean you expect the majority of Republicans to vote for Gym Jordan, despite the fact that vast majority of them didn't want Kevin McCarthy removed. Brilliant.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

that vast majority of them

it’s not about what “they” personally wanted or want.

House of Representatives, isn’t it?

JIM Jordan.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

House of Representatives, isn’t it?

The tantrum caucus of 12 people have obstructed the people that were voted to represent the country.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Republicans reject Jordan

Surprise surprise. This coming from the part of ungovernance, where established laws and decorum are just only guidelines, and chaos is a completely underrated philosophical concept that's misunderstood by the unenlightened masses.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The problem with MAGA is that they are of the "burn it all down" attitude, but they don't know how to build, so they just leave everything a smouldering mess.

No one non-extremist wants that.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Blacklabel

that vast majority of them

House of Representatives, isn’t it?

True. They have to represent their Twitter / X followers.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I think maybe the 8 members of the GOP should reach across the aisle and vote for speaker Hakeem Jeffries. After all, that's what the people really want!:D

5 ( +5 / -0 )

No voters who chose Republicans to represent them obviously don’t want that.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Rather funny how the far right here thinks the majority of the country wants what they want when that obviously isn't true.

They definitely don’t want what Biden wants, one reason as to why people are fleeing blue states.

Putting it a bit lightly there….

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

The wounds suffered by the Dems in losing the House run deep.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

He had 20 hold outs against him which is great news, hopefully next time, it will be even more.
