Yesterday I read in some other news that the mass murderer Putin is upset, because it seems that he will loose this war and that he is ready now to increase the violence and murder on the Ukraine.

They try to reach their goal by all means: Extinguish a complete nation including its population.

I think Putin attacked for several reasons: 1) He didn't want another NATO country on his border, 2) He wants to keep Ukraine aligned towards Russia, not the EU/the West, 3) He doesn't respect Ukrainian sovereignty, 4) There are believed to be a ton of natural gas and oil in the black sea south of Ukraine.

The fact is UN estimates for civilian casualties in the Donbass war are higher than in the current conflict, which makes it odd that one with fewer casualties is called a "mass genocide" while the other is completely ignored as if it didn't even happen.

No they don't. Also, given how widespread Russia's invasion of Ukraine is, it's kind of hard to calculate just how many Ukrainian casualties there are, but safe to say it's considerably higher than 3,000 civilians. I mean, the Orc war criminal pilot killed 300 kids in one theater alone.

He will not get all of Ukraine as he had dreamed and no marble memorial in Moscow for the "great leader" who "preserved" or "reunited" the "All-Russian Union" of his imagination, but you can't always get what you want - you get what you need: Putin needs to save face and get a piece of "Little Russia" in the east and grab a slice of the so-called "New Russia" in the south. But Putin is not Will Smith and Zelenskyy no Chris Rock so an apology from the Kremlin butcher won't suffice: Putin must be made to pay a very heavy price for his brutal, violent attack on the people of Ukraine destroying their country and ruining the lives of millions. Word was, at the beginning of the war, how shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, that European leaders and their diplomatic corp was that Russia lied. So many layers of disbelief to quickly de-tangle, in order to pick up fragments of their existing foreign policy into something coherent and functional. Nothing in the world like witnesses destruction and feeling like you are next.

Looks like, at least this year, NATO really wasn't such a bad idea after all. Reasonable analysts have already concluded that, but for NATO, this would have started - and then progressed - on a much larger scale.

But on the side note, i wonder what would happen if a peace deal was truly struck. Would the west just suddenly lift all the sanction and act like all things are normal again with Russia? What exactly is the end game here? Would they unfreeze all the asset and allow business and airlines to return again? I think even the West probably has no idea what they would do if Russia suddenly cease their operation. And who will pay to rebuild Ukraine and aid tens of millions livelihood?

To be fair, the media has a lot to answer for with their opinion pieces and so called 'analysis'. You could say 'I'm shocked that people even believed Biden...' because all those so called severe consequences are all but hot air...Russian exports still flowing Russia central bank still on swift...on and on.

The Economist did an interview with President Zelensky 2 days ago, according to him none of the sanctions on Russia has been 'implemented', ie not in law, or they are ineffective because they're unimplementable.

The only course changing factor in this war is Ukrainian resistance. The west is more than useless, at times even hampering humanitarian measures. Sad...some body in the Whitehouse snuffed out the story about Israel advising Ukraine to declare neutrality and give up territories to save itself, two weeks later we all learnt, Zelensky learnt, that was the best course of action, because the west isn't going to do anything that alters Russia's role in the global supply chain.

For those who want to know what exactly is happening, people should watch Patrick Lancaster's videos on Youtube. One of the very very few reporters in the middle of the war, speaking to ordinary civilians caught up in the madness.

Every attack by Russian forces is described as hitting a school, hospital, museum, bomb shelter, kindergarten or rescue center for cute kittens......
