Russian hoax,no way in hell ,was Putin gonna let them go without retribution, unless is was trick the west bought hook line and sinker
Cards fan
Lol yes, a chess play that makes the Russian government look completely incompetent. Honestly, what was gained by Russia here?
Moonraker
I'm disappointed.
UChosePoorly
Oh man, these Russians are so tricky to have discovered this loophole that will allow them to nuke the West free of consequences.

Yrral
Well they did let them go. Makes Putin look incredibly weak.
fallaffel
So, Wagner boss is forgiven for his attempted coup, about 12 hours after the Accused War Criminal president vowed punishment. It looks like Putin caved, and Wagner won. I wonder if it's really over.

What kind of fan fiction is this? First of all they are Russian nukes - Belarus has no control over them, and secondly, the Wagner group can't just seize them.

fallaffel
Yup. Putin looking very weak at the moment.
Moonraker
Thuban. Your imaginative story sounds interesting until we remember the sheer stupidity of the Kremlin choreographer. He seems to have a guile in the imagination of some that far outstrips any evidence.
Blacklabel
The left really did a quick flip flop on that sudden Wagner support.
so easily manipulated.

I have a feeling it isn't. This isn't the first time he's spoken out against the Putin regime. I think it'll escalate if he doesn't get killed.
Lol totally. Prigozhin is being paid by both Putin and the CIA. I believe it!:D
Cards fan
Where was anyone supporting Wagner? Lol
TaiwanIsNotChina
So, just like that Prigozhin is going to give up a life of crime? I'm very skeptical this deal is going to be completed. In fact I bet Prigozhin is just going to hang out in Rostov-on-Don.

Really? The left didn't support either Putin or Wagner. Both are vile. But they did support the chaos that them fighting produced.
fallaffel
Yeah, ok. Except he's as likely to nuke the Russian Ministry of Defense than some random Ukrainian soldiers he has no beef with. Not that either is very likely.
Just think about it according to your logic; He attempted to remove Russia's military leaders, and his punishment was being given an entire country (because even you seem to think the Belarus government can't control him).
Somebody is falling for something.

Russia under the dictatorship of PUTAin will fall apart!
Those Wagner marauders will be used as cannon fodder.
More (attempted) coups will follow.
Sooner than later the Russian Empire will be gone!
Ukraine prevails!
CPTOMO
They mistakenly switched the channel from CNN to MSNBC and didn't realize it until after they posted.
Blacklabel
now the focus is right back to Ukraine’s failed offensive.
that was quick. need another distraction.
UChosePoorly
Rooting for a coup, chaos in Russia, and injuries on both sides is not rooting for Wagner. Still just want the Russian invaders out of Ukraine, and if this can facilitate that, then we should be supporting the destabilization of Russia.
Superlib
Lots of anxiety spikes on JT over the last 24 hours. Others were pretty happy.
Blacklabel
Yeah let’s cheer for the “destabilization” of a country that has nukes.
nothing could go wrong with a civil war or a coup there, right?
sorry but Ukraine gonna have to win by themselves not count on Wagner.
Blacklabel
Sounds like someone had much higher expectations for this:
TaiwanIsNotChina
It's already state ruled by criminals. Can't get much more unstable than that.
UChosePoorly
I am. You don't have to tell me twice. Russian invaders should leave Ukraine.

Wagner have been able to stage an armed revolt and being branded a traitor by Mr Putin without consequences.
Putin is looking incredibly weak. We'll see what unfolds in the coming weeks. I wouldn't be surprised is Shoigu loses his job.

Phillip bear
True. But this has left Putin exceptionally weak. If Prigozhin falls out of a window, the next coup plotters won't accept a deal. They will finish the job.
EFD
Maybe we will get lucky and shortly after Pegrozhin falls out a window, the midget of Moscow will have a "medical emergency" that necessitates his retirement, to the dacha worth a billion dollars that he supposedly doesn't own?
wallace
It appears only Prigozhin the leader of the Wagner group has agreed to be exiled to Belarus which is the end of the Wagnger Group.
Prigozhin put the fear of god into Putin, and challenged him for the first time ever and so publicly.
voiceofokinawa
Wagner is a strange mercenary company. It doesn't take order from or report to official military commanders but seems to move around freely at its own discretion. Its head, Yevgeny Prigozhin, acts as if he was on a par with the nation’s Defense Minister.
1glenn
How long before Putin has Prigozhin kidnapped, tortured, and executed?
Fredrik
Too bad the march on Moscow was cancelled, and it was not Putin that was ousted. Would have been cheerful news to read...
EFD
2-4 months to keep up appearances?

In Russia....
Your elementary school daughter can write a cartoon about the "special military operation"....and you get thrown in jail for two years...
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russian-father-whose-daughter-drew-anti-war-picture-given-two-years-jail-2023-03-28/
But you can stage an armed rebellion, attack and kill troops, and threaten to take over the country....and you get a nice dacha in a neighboring country...
Welcome to Putin-world...
itsonlyrocknroll
Where is this all heading?
Did Yevgeny Prigozhin really intend to stage a coup?
To make such demands on the Russian Government, I find that rather shallow and hollow.
Under the deal announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Prigozhin will go to neighboring Belarus and charges of mounting an armed rebellion will be dropped. The government said it also would not prosecute fighters who took part, while those who did not join in were to be offered contracts by the Defense Ministry.
It all has a rather staged feel.
EyesWideOpen
It's amazing that a "coup" involving tens of thousands of fighters ended in a day in such a anticlimactic fashion, without a single fatality at that. (I'm sure there are lots in the MSM that are disappointed at this development.)
Or perhaps it wasn't a coup at all. From what I've read, Yevgeny Prigozhin doesn't seem to have any beef with Putin. He seems to have something of an unresolved business with the MOD though.
Hard to tell what really went down.
wallace
This whole affair is a massive embarrassment for Putin who now appears weaker.
