Russia can slash out as much as it wants. At this point it won't help them avoid defeat.

Even Biden is getting frustrated with this lost cause in Ukraine, but he got fake it, would you like to get everyday and deal with insecure corrupt foreign leaders ,that telling their public a bunch of lies,in which only people believe them are delusional themselves

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Taiwan, when VR Day be in Kiev, you have already made reservations, you have no credibility,it borders on being delusional

That attack managed to damage the offices of one of the world's leading maritime crewing services, Danica Maritime Services. Under the terms of the Black Sea grain deal the Russians agreed not to target the port and grain shipping infrastructure of Ukraine, but well you know how well the Russians keep their promises.

DT,were is the great liberation, you promised,I have never been in the military, you have name the date of liberation

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Never ceases to amaze me how impatient Russia’s supporters are.

2 ( +11 / -9 )

Haa,if someone can to your house and beat you up everyday, like Ukraine is being beat up , would you be satisfied, with the results

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Never ceases to amaze me how blind to the truth the anti-Russia, i.e. the Russia-the-bad-guys-Ukraine-and-West-good-guys, crowd is.

Complaining about Russia not keeping their promises on the Black Sea grain deal? Is that's just the blackest pot calling the kettle black?

I am not even pro-Russia. I simply can't stand the thick hypocrisy.

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

Haa,if someone can to your house and beat you up everyday, like Ukraine is being beat up , would you be satisfied, with the results

I wouldn’t capitulate and let them have my house. That’s for sure. However long it takes, that’s how long Russians inside Russia will feel unsafe.

Blowing up dams is specifically prohibited by the 1977 Additional Articles to the Geneva Conventions which provide "special protection" for dams and since Russia is a signatory to the Additional Articles, which also protects nuclear power plants, blowing the dam and likely starving the Zaphorizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant of cooling water was unexpected. However that attack delayed an armored thrust across the Dnipro River and bought the Russians some time.

Would you in such a situation give up and submit to the attacker or fight back? I know what I would do but you troll us with these senseless questions so I am throwing it right back at you. Give in or fight?

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Wow! Aerial strikes on schools, churches, hospitals and apartment buildings.

How can Russians sleep?

Yrral - are you still standing by your July 4th date as to when this will all be over? Or did you miscalculate? Would you like to recalibrate your prediction?

Stay strong, Ukraine. Keep pounding!

5 ( +10 / -5 )

I admire this fellas commitment to the job but wearing hi-vis seems a little redundant at this point.

Yrral - are you still standing by your July 4th date as to when this will all be over? Or did you miscalculate? Would you like to recalibrate your prediction?

Stand by, it has to run Google translate on its Russian operating system then consult its SVR handler for talking points.

This could take a few minutes.

Ok kid... Lol !!..

-8 ( +5 / -13 )

DT, fight for what ,a corrupt government and society, they sure in hell is not fighting for democracy, but Ukrainain have never lived in one

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

The counter offensive hasn't exactly gone according to plan for NATO but at least Ukrainian refugees are leaving Europe. Latvian state TV is reporting such long lines of Ukrainians trying to enter Russia that humanitarian organizations have provided tents and makeshift markets have sprung up.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

What a radical idea, destroying the foreign supplied weapons before the conscripts can get them to places they can attack eastern Ukrainians.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

Yes. If only it were true.

What a radical idea, destroying the foreign supplied weapons before the conscripts can get them to places they can attack eastern Ukrainians.

Yrral? July 4th of which year?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

@ Yrral

It never ceases to amaze the seemingly pleasure you derive from seeing innocents being killed.

And to have the audacity to accuse Ukraine of being corrupt while supporting Russia is breathtaking.

You will notice (or maybe not) there are no errors of grammar in this post.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

July 4, will be 3 month, before the first frost

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Innocent are being killed in Palestine with US aid ,were is the outrage, the people may be innocent, but Ukraine corrupt government is not

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

July 4, will be 3 month, before the first frost

So you're talking about winter, not July 4th now. Ok. I guess it'll be cold. Sure... but last winter didn't end them either.

Yrral

DT, fight for what ,a corrupt government and society, they sure in hell is not fighting for democracy, but Ukrainain have never lived in one.

They are fighting for their land and their culture. They fighting so that their children don't get kidnapped and sent to Russia or killed (like in Bucha). They are fighting so that they don't have to be submitted to torture. They are fighting so that Russia can't enact a genocide on their people.

Would you fight for that?

(And BTW Ukraine is already a democracy.)

5 ( +8 / -3 )

When you consider Putin's admission that Russia has suffered more losses than they hoped for, his admission that Russia is lacking enough modern weapons for this to continue much longer, Russian elites being less than pleased with the Kremlin, and Ukraine's plan to develop their own long range weapons (it's been stated, though I don't know if it's possible), then things CLEARLY are not going to plan for Russia. Yes, yes... propaganda. I am not pro-Russian, SO I support the defenders here.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Will take years....

The overpriced US arms/junk makers must be rubbing their hands together with glee! Quick send a few more lobbyists to Washington to make sure it takes years!

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Thuban

Western analysts and military officials say the effort to dislodge entrenched, powerfully armed and large numbers of Russian troops could take years.

Could take years !!!!! .... Years!

Yes, but you have to realise that these are the same military analysts who thought that Russia would achieve air superiority in the first few days and that Ukraine has no chance to defend.

I'm not saying they are wrong, but this Ukrainian army never fails to surprise. In a good way.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

so 300m advance in 24 hrs but unverified...or it may be some 30kms back?or even 50?

what kind of "news" are we reading here?

i know its hard to admit that Kiev have zero chance to win over Russia even with all of money, media help, guns from NATO stock and east Europe but anyway...befehl?

if I have checked briefly other sources this morning I get an idea that shovel equipped Russians have stopped that so called spring offensive earlier when really have started.no advances at UA side at all, when checked maps situation plus minus same.a lot of NATO artillery, tanks and carrier became good for spare parts, some even with running engines as some heroi left them at battlefield and run for their lives westward...

if some you you believe that Kiev offensive became completely pricey failure and its time for peace negotiations and to stop this conflict click on +

if some of you believe that there is still need for new weapons delivery from NATO,EU,that Kiev forces have to keep dying for US interests in battle they have zero chance to win click on -

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Glad to see an admission, of sorts, that it could take years for NATO to dislodge Russian forces. (If ever)

Time for some peace talks by Ukraine before NATO tosses all their young men into death.

Reality matters, this is another NATO lost cost and Ukraine is paying the price. Time for the citizens of Ukraine to cut losses and sue for peace.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Proxy - we will help to defend Ukraine against the invaders for as long as it takes. If Ukraine wants to surrender, then they will. But they aren't going to surrender. Does it seem to you like they are going to surrender? If you and Russia want peace so badly, you could always take your armies back to Russia.

as you may remember there were peace negotiations in March-April 2022 and problems could be solved long time ago but BoJo came and have said no way, keep fightning we give you media, money, guns all support just go and die.

west have to come to own senses and stop this now as further escalation is NOT NEEDED.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Eastman, your 'choose this or that alternative' looks like it was written by one of the folk who wrote the Crimea 'referendum' voting papers

1 I agree with the invading forces

2 I don't disagree with the invading forces

The moscovite invasion of Ukraine has become a completely pricey failure for Putin and it's time for him to pull his conscripts back to Russia and to start negotiations on how reparations are to be made.

After that I'm sure he will easily find someone ready and willing to give him a free ride to the Hague.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Do you really want to know how many Russian people care about children and women and men, all innocent victims being murdered by Putin every day, absolutely NIL. They do not even care about their own people dying on the front lines.

That didn't happen. The west has always given the choice of action to Ukraine.

Nothing about Ukraine, without Ukraine.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Still measuring progress in meters= no progress.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Well Russia has Bradleys and Leopards now already.

plus 15% of vehicles the US gave already blown up or disabled.

that’s not helpful. Hey Joe, got any more of those for us? This thing is gonna take “years” now.

OK.

As it seems that you often forget many things like for example even yesterday,I am sorry but temporary lost of memory or simple missing knowledge does not make this a FACT that it "did not happen".I suggest to go back some year+and you will find easily a lot of info online even in English...than be back here and comment on topic.

West using UA as proxy battlefield in war against Russia, this is FACT and yes-it seems one and only choice of action given to Ukraine from west.

According to a May report from Ukrainska Pravda, the Russian side was ready for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin, but it later came to a halt after the discovery of Russian war crimes in Ukraine, and the surprise visit on 9 April 2022 of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who told Zelenskyy "Putin is a war criminal, he should be pressured, not negotiated with," and that "even if Ukraine is ready to sign some agreements on guarantees with Putin, they are not." Three days after Johnson left Kyiv, Putin stated publicly that talks with Ukraine "had turned into a dead end".

source wikipedia.possibly cant deny that these lines are not some kind of lies or hoax.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Here are the basic facts:

the "gains" that UAF are making can be measured by a small tape measure.

contact line has not been breached.

UAF taking huge losses in men and material.

despite endless predictions that Russia would run out of missiles, it hasn't.

the nonsense about the numbers of missiles shot down is exactly that.
-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Blacklabel

if you know how to read between lines you get it right.NATO pricey "wunderwaffen" many became thrash, object for russian/chinese gun specialists-in case of not damaged or lightly damaged ones as these they get delivered right at borders for cheapest possible price/for free/and duty free.some may be good as articles for museums in Russia once this conflict will end.

as I wrote above some 300metres eastward may be easy 30kms westward as here published news are labbelled as "unverified" so to be considered as rumours you here at some tajik watermelon market...

west have invested heavily in this conflict and seems they may still continue to do so against will will of majority of own citizens/taxpayers opinions who are having hard times to pay more for virtually everything as antirussian sanctions are backfiring hard at their pockets and economies.

new barbarossa 2023 did not happened and have ended faster than even really started.

time to use handbrake and start to talk about peace-this time seriously.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Bakhmut (now Artemovsk) was taken by a motley crew of convicts and wild adventurers with MPL-50 shovels.

In contrast for this offensive, the UAF has some 10-12 brigades trained, equipped and supplied by NATO with heavy weapons of all sorts, access to western intelligence and all manner of support with ongoing multi-billion dollar packages.

It's not a fair comparison - and quite reasonable to expect a few more results.

Time for the citizens of Ukraine to decide for themselves whether they want to keep fighting or sue for peace. They have already decided to keep fighting.

After the war crimes and atrocities of Bucha came to light, it was the Ukrainians who wanted to end peace talks and BJ had nothing to do with it. And who can blame them.

They are fighting so that their children don't get kidnapped and sent to Russia or killed (like in Bucha). They are fighting so that they don't have to be submitted to torture. They are fighting so that Russia can't enact a genocide on their people.

Lots of "facts" being shared today by supporters of the Accused War Criminal Vladimir Putin and his invaders. Ukraine is making no gains, the offensive is over, and Russia is taking no casualties... except for a general and his staff 2 days ago, around 100 soldiers yesterday who were waiting for their officer to make a speech yesterday (sadly, they died due to this officer's incompetence), and other cases that are too hard to cover up.

My point is, these facts you're sharing are not facts at all, so don't be surprised when others don't agree with them. No one knows how this will end yet, despite the comforting messages from the Kremlin.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Russian President Vladimir Putin said nonchalantly that he could seize more land in Ukraine for whatever reasons.(Cf.  "Putin says he might try to seize nearby territory in Ukraine to prevent cross-border strikes", Japan Today: June 15, 2023)

Are we still in the 19th century colonial days when the law of the jungle was the norm of colonial powers?  Is Putin nostalgic for Czarist Russia’s heyday? Colonialism seems not to have dissipated at all, I‘m afraid.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

It might not be easy or quick, but the Russians are going to lose this war. They have shot their wad, taken their best shot, and Ukraine is still standing with the will to fight and Western Support.

Mini-me has no friends much less allies, his population is tiring of this 3-day special military operation, and his pay-boy buddies are sick of watching their hard-stolen wealth disappear.
