Gotta hand it to the Koreans, they are no respecters of persons when it comes to crimes and misdemeanors by the high and mighty. This dude thought he was above the law and so did that previous loopy president of theirs. They thought wrong. And by the way, a similarly high level industrialist getting this kind of sentence would be unimaginable in Japan...

Not just in the US, but in Japan, too. Heck, in Japan they get handed an EXTRA term of leader of the nation for corruption. SK has heaps of problems, but other nations need to get on their page in this particular thing.

It's about time the chaebols were broken up to release shareholder value. Their current stucture only serves the interests of the dynastic Barons that run them. SK economy would leap forward if unshackled from them.
