The frequency and numbers with which Shias are getting killed makes it nothing short of a genocide.

The he taliban used to do it earlier, now they conveniently blame the ISIS.

The main difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims is their belief surrounding who should have succeeded the Prophet Muhammad in 632 AD. Historically, Sunni Muslims believed that Abu Bakr was the rightful successor, while Shiite, or Shia, Muslims thought it should have been Ali ibn Abi Talib.

I find this to be a completely ridiculous reason for killing so many!!!

A new Iraq. As rotten as Saddam Hussein was, deposing him didn't imporove anything there. There was sui-car bombings and civil war there and eventually the rise of ISIS in 2014.

When ISIS rose out of the Iraqi ashes, they were committing genocide against everything - Arabic Jews, Christians, moderate Muslims, Zoroastrians, Sikhs, Druze, you name it. Obama started a massive air and sea war upon them and gave them a good pounding. After Obama, well you can't rely on Trump to tell the truth. Nonetheless, the Taliban and ISIS are both bands of fanatical bandits and scumbags so let them duke it out in Afghanistan. The original reason for the US presence there is invalid and no longer exists.

They were only following literal shariah law. All the above were given the option to convert to whabist Sunni islam and be spared. That is cruel oppression, but it is not "genocide".

Obama de facto created ISIS by abandoning the Sunni tribes in Western Iraq and destabilizing Syria. Trump ended the criminal policy of supporting the JIhadi "vetted rebels" in Syria and allowed the Syrian armee to defeat them. Of course the salafist ideology did not die, and thanks to Bidens Afghanistan disaster there is a new playground.

Nonetheless, the Taliban and ISIS are both bands of fanatical bandits and scumbags so let them duke it out in Afghanistan.

Nope, they are pious believers in a virulent ideology. And while they will struggle for control of the country (one wants an emirate, the other a caliphate), they completely agree on the status of disbelievers and heretics (like Shia).
