I am far from anti-tech, Strangerland, my business is thriving, derived from research in next generation of development in products, for the financial services, and network cryptography industry.

However, that cannot be said for Sen. Elizabeth Warren...

A social media regulatory authority, as indicated/hinted in the above TR article is gaining cross isle support.

It is within the EU council that a legislative structure is taking shape. In every prism/sphere of the digital market, taxation, data privacy governance, especially on line real time social media content and how a framework accountability can be managed.

Witness, Facebook, Twitter hapless contortions, convulsions.

It patently obvious both are ill equipped politically to make or take these decisions.

I would not at all be surprised if both FB and Twitter ban him as soon as he’s out of office. Late, but better late than never.

He could head over to Parler, but the scope would be much smaller.

He is toast and I am optimistic that his influence will be much reduced in 13 days.

Capitol thugs planned assault for weeks on far-right social media sites like Parler, Gab and TheDonald where they called for 'total revolution' and urged people to bring guns and rope

And yet, there were very few police at the capitol, on the day when they were certifying that Donald J. Trump lost, and that he wasn't the choice of the people. Again.

Stark difference from when the protestors were protesting something he didn't agree with - you know, that black lives matter.

it should be destroying Big Tech

'big tech' is another term used by the global alt right and others who prefer state control of media and information ala China, North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Russia (partial control of course).

The headline should read 'some tech platforms used by Trump thugs to organize assault on capitol'.

My observation here though is the manner that Facebook/Twitter et alia, took the decision to suspend an account, and as such, the future implication for social media independent regulation.

Facebook/Twitter should have consulted/taken advise from both the Congress and Senate leadership

Anti-Tech is so last president. We're done with his hogwash.

People will continue to Tik-Tok to their hearts content. In America.

I saw a South Korean flag among the terrorists. One of our locals also flies the South Korean flag with his confederate flag. Why would they do this action?

If Donald Trump “twittering” is, allegedly, deemed to be directly responsible for the incitement to stage a storming of U.S. Capitol, resulting in the tragic death of 4 people, then this is a matter for future investigations by the appropriate authorities.

No one is above the law.

My observation here though is the manner that Facebook/Twitter et alia, took the decision to suspend an account, and as such, the future implication for social media independent regulation.

Facebook/Twitter should have consulted/taken advise from both the Congress and Senate leadership,

democrats and republicans.

Trumps last action should not be war with Iran, it should be destroying Big Tech.

Thanks, Zuckerberg. Wait until after the damage is done to finally ban Trump.

I didn't see a single black person. Just white people.

That the police in the Capitol was taking selfies with, yeah.

And when BLM peacefully protested in Washington, the national guard was in full gear to tear gas and pepper spray everyone.

And yet some (obviously deaf and blind) people will still claim there isn't some form of institutionalized and systemic racism in America.

Yet BLM and Antifa can run amok.

Another example of the right blaming yesterday's sedition on BLM and Antifa.

Sorry losers, not equal.

What a freak show politics is becoming in the age of the Silicon Valley

in large part because wack conspiracy theories are more easily spread on the internet and because foreign states have hired armies of keyboard warriors to push conspiracy theories intended to pour fuel on opposing nations long burning fires. Modern media are a mixed bag, like they've always been. I greatly prefer a mixed bag media to state controlled - and 'partly' controlled - media. Freak show and all.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said "Big Tech" had censored the president at a critical time for the country.

"Big Tech is out of control," he said.

Out of control? Oh that is rich coming from a White House whose president just cheered on as his thugs smashed the Capital.

I have no sympathy for these tech companies, but banning Trump is one of the few laudible things they have done r3cently.

Private company, right to refuse service. End of ‘censorship’ debate whining before it starts again and again.

Twitter needs to BAN TRUMP FOR LIFE. Otherwise Twitter is complicit in the attempted takeover of the U.S. Capitol.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Trump and his followers are a clear and present danger to the planet.

LOL, Trump got in on Facebook data in the first place, and in his entire term FB continues to peedle fake news, even refusing censoring, now he sees danger? Ah the smell of hypocrisy.
