And what the left media fails to report; https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/06/pro-trump-activist-in-london-arrested-after-she-bursts-baby-trump-blimp-with-sharp-object-video/

Let's start hearing both sides of a story. Why do we only read about anti-Trump news?

-25 ( +10 / -35 )

Love the balloon! So appropriate, I wonder if Macy's will borrow it for their Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York!

17 ( +25 / -8 )

Classy.

I know the response will be 'well Trump doesn't have any class either' and my response is then why lower yourselves to his level?

-24 ( +6 / -30 )

Let's start hearing both sides of a story. Why do we only read about anti-Trump news?

Do you REALLY have to ask this question? What has Trump done for the rest of the world other than piss them off? He is a hypocrite when it comes to politics, he injects his commentary about who should be the next British PM and doesnt call that interfering?

Trump dug himself a huge hole and all he has to do is look in the mirror to see who is to blame! He deserves the bashing and much, much more!

21 ( +29 / -8 )

Funny how you don't see these lefty cowards protesting Sadiq Khan and his slow destruction of London!

The rightist cowards have protested in the past with a Sadiq Khan blimp.

Haven’t these people got jobs to go to? Slackers etc.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

@Belrick,

Exactly.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

The British elite are out in force making sure President Trump and most of his family are given top class treatment!

The blimp was deflated by a Trump supporter who obviously saw it as insulting.

The President is having an extremely pleasant time in the UK and that is how it should be.

-11 ( +11 / -22 )

do these sheep even know what they are protesting? the same people who voted for Brexit then had buyers remorse i would not trust the British public opinion

-30 ( +1 / -31 )

Thousands of people protested in central London on Tuesday against U.S. President Donald Trump's pomp-laden state visit to Britain, but numbers were well down on the tens of thousands who gathered to oppose his visit last year.

"Thousands"? Only "thousands"? Weren't they claiming that hundreds of thousands would be protesting, and blocking London roads? I guess the Trump-haters over-estimated their influence, again.

-21 ( +4 / -25 )

do these sheep even know what they are protesting?

Trumpies calling others sheep. Lolz #irony

17 ( +22 / -5 )

Don’t these people who came out supporting Trump have jobs to go to?

Slackers, scrounges etc.

2 ( +10 / -8 )

Can't wait to see their faces when he gets reelected

-13 ( +9 / -22 )

Trumpies calling others sheep. Lolz #irony

Assuming I support Trump because I don't bash him is moronic. I do not support him but I do support common sense over knee-jerk criticism

-15 ( +6 / -21 )

do these sheep even know what they are protesting?

Do the slackers and people with no jobs to go to even know what they are supporting when they came out to cheer Trump?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Jimizo; Don’t these people who came out supporting Trump have jobs to go to?

Slackers, scrounges etc.

Don’t these people who came out protesting Trump have jobs to go to?

Slackers, scrounges etc.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

Don’t these people who came out protesting Trump have jobs to go to?

Slackers, scrounges etc.

It’s just that every time there is an anti-Trump protest ( even on Saturdays ) Trump supporters tend to dismiss them as slackers and scroungers with no jobs to go to.

I’m just making sure that also holds true for people coming out to support Trump too.

If it does, it seems the very pro-Trump and very anti-Trump people are work-shy layabouts.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

The biggest shame is people like Labour leader Corbyn organizing a protest against the visit of the leader of a friendly nation. Corbyn, a man who refuses to say whether as prime minister he would honour British commitment to deploy British troops in order to defend a Nato member country should it come under attack. A man who mingles with people from Hamas and Hezbollah and calls them “friends”. A typical liberal leftist loony hypocrite. Should be tarred, feathered and run out of town together with that Khan. Whatever one might think of Trump, the man was democratically elected, so get over it instead of spouting the same childish drivel about Trump over and over on this site. Next year you have the chance of voting him out of office.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

Assuming I support Trump because I don't bash him is moronic. I do not support him but I do support common sense over knee-jerk criticism

Lol! You don't support him? I read your comments on here almost everyday. Your political leanings are quite well documented.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

These protesters, with their clever, satirical British humour, make me very happy.

Thank you from all of us rational, actually-patriotic Americans!

11 ( +14 / -3 )

"Keep your tiny hands off our Queen", "Lock him in the tower" and "Free Melania!"

Wow, sounds like aladda smart people in that group. So it takes a Trump visit for Londoners to get out on the streets? Meanwhile, across the channel, Yellow Vesters........

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Lol! You don't support him? I read your comments on here almost everyday. Your political leanings are quite well documented.

Yes I agree with most of his policies but do not like him personally. Seems like most sheep who automatically bash him do so because of the peripheral social justice issues and not real issues like the economy, taxes and well-being of the American citizens.

Summary: Trump refuses to meet Corbyn, a potential leader of a major US ally, because he's not a sycophant.

Real mature.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

I love freedom of speech - positive and negative! Use it, since there are many countries where citizens don't have it.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Laguna - Summary: Trump refuses to meet Corbyn, a potential leader of a major US ally, because he's not a sycophant.

Corbyn refused to attend the state dinner hosted by the Queen, because Trump would be there.

Trump then counter-punched by refusing to meet with Corbyn for Corbyn's requested one-on-one meeting with Trump.

Maybe Corbyn doesn't have as much potential as you hope he has?

"I think everything with a trade deal is on the table," Trump told reporters. "So NHS or anything else, or a lot more than that. But everything will be on the table, absolutely."

Can anyone explain what he means ?

Why would the NHS be part of any trade deal ?

The NHS IS NOT FOR SALE! UK and the NHS may not be perfect, but it has done more for the British than American healthcare for the average American.

BTW, someone remind the man-child what the NHS is.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

The biggest shame is people like Labour leader Corbyn organizing a protest against the visit of the leader of a friendly nation

Corbyn didn't organize anything. It was organized by the Stop Trump movement:

https://www.stoptrump.org.uk/

Corbyn, a man who refuses to say whether as prime minister he would honour British commitment to deploy British troops in order to defend a Nato member country should it come under attack.

Corbyn's comment was made in 2011 and since then he's accepted Britain's role in Nato. Do keep up.

https://www.forces.net/news/jeremy-corbyn-accepts-labour-support-nato

A man who mingles with people from Hamas and Hezbollah and calls them “friends”.

Corbyn made the comment in 2009 and admitted it was a mistake in 2016. Do keep up.

"Giving evidence at the home affairs select committee on Monday, the Labour leader said that he had used the phrase to describe the militant groups during a meeting in parliament in 2009.

“The language I used at that meeting was actually here in parliament and it was about encouraging the meeting to go ahead, encouraging there to be a discussion about the peace process,” he said.

Asked whether he still regarded Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends”, the Labour leader said: “No. It was inclusive language I used which with hindsight I would rather not have used. I regret using those words, of course.”

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jul/04/jeremy-corbyn-says-he-regrets-calling-hamas-and-hezbollah-friends

Whatever one might think of Trump, the man was democratically elected

So were Khan and Corbyn. Even though they were "democratically elected" you think they should be "run out of town." Really?

so get over it instead of spouting the same childish drivel about Trump over and over on this site.

so get over it instead of spouting the same Daily Mail style childish lies and drivel about Khan and Corbyn on this site.

UK has always had a heathy political and democratic tradition of street protest and demonstration.

President Trumps state visit is no exception.

Among the assembled groups of anti trump demonstrators were climate change activists robustly haranguing the Trump administration approach on climate change and withdrawal from the Paris/United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The hypocrisy and irony of these supposed climate change activists and groups is that they never clean up after themselves.

Central London historic landmarks, squares, and streets where protestors congregate are left with mountainous plies of discard banners, placards, signs and unwanted waste refuse.

These save the planet sanctimonious self righteous climate change emergency activists never seems to take into account cleaning up the environment they leave behind after protesting!.......

A typical liberal leftist loony hypocrite... Should be tarred, feathered and run out of town together... with that Khan... the same childish drivel

Childish? Not coming across as particularly mature yourself with phrases like "leftist loony" and "tarred, feathered and run out of town."

Whatever one might think of Trump, the man was democratically elected...

Getting three million less votes that the other candidate is not exactly "democratically elected."

3 ( +6 / -3 )

The one quality, Jeremy Corbyn demonstrates as a politician is his views are consistent.

There is no false pretence to his contempt and loathing for Donald Trump. The impediment and drawback to this stance is your hostility animosity sooner or later limits one options.

The qualities that the Jeremy Corbyn possesses are also glaringly absent with the Johnson's and Gove's of this world.

Both Johnson and Gove have proven character flaws, unprincipled, dishonourable, and ruthlessly unscrupulous. Both would enthusiastically shake Presidents Trump by the hand as much as moments later stab him in the back to advance there Leadership ambitions.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Regardless about how Trump is viewed, I think it is shameful that the event commemorating D-Day will have a double layer steel fence to keep the public out and stop them watching. People can only see it on tv. Donald Trump and Theresa May did not risk their lives fighting the Nazis. It is not about them.

Trump's visit is costing the UK 40 million pounds in security. I hope they are getting 40M of value somewhere because I cannot see it.

The size of the anti-Trump crowd in London was probably due to spill over from a commemoration of the Tiananmen Square massacre - downgraded by Australian professor Gregory Clark to a “peaceful dispersal of several hundred students by elements of the People’s Liberation Army”.

There is no false pretence to his contempt and loathing for Donald Trump. The impediment and drawback to this stance is your hostility animosity sooner or later limits one options.

Well, he did offer to meet Trump for a more substantial sort of discussion than the sort of pleasantries that would have been exchanged at a state dinner, and Trump wussed out of it. Holding court to Tory toadies and sycophants who will fawn on his every word is probably more his style.

Trump said he had rejected the request from Corbyn, describing him as “somewhat of a negative force”.

Perhaps he doesn't know about the position of Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition or what it entails.

“He wanted to meet today or tomorrow, and I decided that I would not do that,” he said. “I really don’t like critics as much as I like and respect someone who can get things done.”

Such as grovelers like Boris Johnston or Michael Gove who, unlike Jeremy Corbyn, both tried and failed to get elected as leader of their party?

I'm glad somebody is showing this douchesack how welcome he is. Traitortrump whines about NATO being 'useless and outdated' because he is Putin's slave. After all the badmouthing and hatred he's already spewed beforehand, it's surprising he was even allowed in the UK at all.

I hope that baby balloon is placed outside the window where the Trumps are staying.

D-Day was the beginning of Europe's liberation from fascism and now America has this fascist boor representing us. Also 30 years ago this week there was the Tiananmen Square massacre (I remember seeing it live on TV) and now we have this hatemongering totalitarian demagogic dictator ruling the USA. Very very sad.

The NHS is already for sale.

Waiting lists for surgeons stretch from months to years in the UK.

However, most surgeons are more than willing to do the op for a ‘fee’ the following week.

As the US has the most advanced medical treatment in the world then at least any deal concerning the NHS might be beneficial to a system that already is no longer one tier.

This is pretty cool. Obama got a standing ovation at the NBA finals a couple of days ago up in Canada:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbLQJF2sElk

In reality Trump would probably be more liked if he weren't a proven scammer and known liar. Plus you have all of the white supremacy and misogyny stuff. In the end he made his own choices. No one forced him to scam Americans out of tens of millions of dollars for a fake university, he was just a rich guy who wanted more money.

Criticizing him for being such a loser really needs to be reinforced daily in American society, especially for younger children to understand that bragging about molesting women should get a harsh response, not a vote for President.

How do you know this? The only poll I can find show related to your point is that Trump is popular with 21% of Brits, 67% negative and 12% neutral ( YouGov ).

Maybe non-existent people dancing on rooftops were polled.

Texas: The DNC media stenographers were reporting breathlessly that as many as 250,000 protesters were going to show up to rail against Orange Man Bad. Looks like the MSM was lied to yet again.

You've been duped by a right-wing comment you read and your job as a bubble dweller is to repeat it on message boards.

The news outlets said that the crowd could be as high as 250,000, which is the number that attended the protest before. Apparently you think that number was result of some kind of DNC effort to trick people or something? Which is weird. If they're going to guess they're going to say possibly as high as last time. Not really some incredibly sinister plot required.

And besides, you're a Trump fan. Didn't he say his inauguration was the most attended ever? And he saw tens of thousands of Muslims cheering on 9/11? And 3.5 million illegal aliens voted? And now you're taking issue with a number rooted in logic because some hack tricked you?

Stand up for yourself.

The British Monarchy, every member of the Royal Family truly excelled. In spite of conflicting options and views, political or otherwise, Prince of Wales passionate stance on climate change an example.

Above all, Her Majesty the Queen afforded a welcome, befitting the office of U.S. President Donald Trump, the First Lady Melania, and Trump Family kith and kin.

The same cannot be said of UK political establishment, hapless and amateur, hopeless and headless. Politically, UK is unstable, wretched, rudderless and adrift of any modicum of coherent Leadership.

Whether in agreement with London Mayor Sadiq Khan so called virtuous intentions or not, the tactless, distasteful Trump baby blimp Sadiq Khan so enthusiastically endorsed is a monument to a puerile form of political posturing devoid or incapable of any notion to conduct meaningful debate.

The people/tax payer/electorate deserve a whole lot better than this shower of smelly stuff.

Long established rules that are not very democratic.

“Long established rules” - which permit themselves to be change in an orderly manner - are a real bummer.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Photographs showed a lacklustre crowd of only a few tens of thousands of activists at most gathering while the President was inside 10 Downing Street meeting Prime Minister Theresa May as part of his three-day state visit.

March organisers have already downgraded their expectations from 250,000 people to just 75,000 - blaming a 'working Tuesday' for the lower number, which is the most organisers believe they can expect to turn up. In fact estimates of attendance were in the low tens of thousands.

75,000 is not the low tens of thousands. failed.

*250,000 set to descend. Not 250,000 @last time. wrong.*

Irrespective, it's way more than attended his inauguration - unless you count all the invisible "stealth" people that Donnie counted...

There was a time when I hoped that any American President would be welcomed when visiting a foreign nation - even Bush Jr who I didn't support and who was not liked by the British people, I hoped would be treated with respect when he visited the UK.

But Trump has crossed too many red lines; hate speech, lies, obstruction, conspiracy, appeasing dictators - he's nothing but a crime mob boss - and should be treated as such. So, to our good friends in Europe, let him have it - patch the Man-Baby balloon and attach it to bumper of the Beast. Let him know that we think he is a pitiful excuse for a human being. Call out the Con-Man for what he is - an unindicted co-conspirator and felon in waiting...

Tell him to stop the "cover-up" and to get an "intervention" - he'll have a meltdown...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Yes only 2 or 3 in the picture that accompanied the article. Context is important.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Nothing wrong with protests, the people should do what they want, doesn’t bother the President, it's not going to be near him, so a few thousand won’t make a difference, he should continue doing what he does, no need to care. Surprisingly, the British press weren’t so critical of Trump, usually they’re always critical of every US President....conservative to be exacted, but no one cares what these people say or think.

But if it helps people blow off some steam and calm down, it’s a positive thing.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump had a bit of a bad time in Scotland. He visited his golf course there and commented how Scottish people were ecstatic about Brexit. He also lied about predicting it. As you know, Scotland voted overwhelmingly to remain. One Scottish Twitter user told Trump that Scotland voted to remain and called him a “Tiny-Fingered, Cheeto-Faced, Ferret-Wearing S##tibbon”

Oh my. Do you think they polled him?

It does bother Trump, and he said so yesterday, in the only TV interview with Piers Morgan

He also said, he was more happy with the more positive response from the British supporters he witnessed

For Trump, the state visit was a great success with many kodak moments. Don't know why all of his adult children and partners were included. Not normal.

It doesn’t matter normal or not, it doesn’t matter if the Brits liked or hated Trump, his mission is to ensure the Brits of our everlasting commitment to our strong alliance, partnership and in the hopes of working closer, having stronger business ties once they leave the EU, other than those talks now and in the incoming months, everything else doesn’t matter, to the Brits, perhaps it does, to us, not really. They can’t stop the man.

Amazing how many people oppose the democratic right to assemble and protest, and especially with the Great British satire. We are really good at that.

If by “oppose” you mean people want protests forbidden, I don’t see any of that here. Nor, I guess, do you. Some people may be unhappy about the protests, but last I heard, that’s not forbidden either.

The difference between Trump's reception in Japan and the UK demonstrates the huge gap in culture and political maturity between the two island nations. If you put it at the liberal math of most media outlets, I would say under 5,000

What?

Great to see Trump can find time on a state visit and commemorating the heroes of WW2 to deal with more pressing matters like tweeting trash about Joe Biden, the media and Bette Midler.

On his free time, he should be able to do as he pleases.

What a bunch of clowns.

Love parody and mocking of leaders like this. The Brits will hate it if they are still having to roll out the balloons every year until 2024. Would have loved to have seen one of these if Obama.

Simon Foston - Long established rules that are not very democratic.

LOL. Long established rules that were created by the duly elected representatives of the people. That's what happens in a Democratic Republic. If you wish to change these long established rules, all you would have to do is emigrate, and run for political office.

zichi - "75,000 protesters crowded London’s government district, shouting angry chants as he met May nearby. While police erected barricades to stop protesters from marching past the gates of Downing Street, they could be heard as Trump and May emerged from the prime minister’s official residence for a photo op and before their news conference."

Difficult to tell, but compared to the media photos, the number 75,000 seems too high. Who is claiming the 75,000 number, and how did they arrive at that number?

It's weird, you seem to be saying that because it exists, it's right/correct. So it exists because it's correct, and it's correct because it exists.

Solid logic bro.

Looks like the logic of someone who can't come to terms with being in a minority in his own country.

Either way I can't be bothered with evasiveness.

Do you know what parody actually is? It doesn't look like it.

@Simon Foston You're saying those rules can be changed? I agree. They wouldn't even need to abolish the Electoral College to do it.

Now we can discuss. What are these rules you speak of?

Most States allocate all their Electoral College votes to the winning candidate. A couple of States allocate them to each candidate according to their share of the popular vote. All the state legislatures need to do to make the elections a bit more democratic and representative is split the Electoral College votes and dump the winner take all method.

The interesting thing is that Trump has been on his bets behavior this entire trip; he's been shockingly presidential, dignified, and diplomatic.

He's made these protesters look like boors in comparison.

I wouldn't really consider starting fights on twitter because of a self-inflated ego very "presidential, dignified, or diplomatic"...

Strangerland - Trump math innit?

No, but you already knew that.

What is known is that far fewer protestors turned out for this visit by Trump. Far below the numbers that the usual haters predicted would turn out. I guess the usual haters guessed wrong. Now it appears that the usual haters are simply making up numbers in order to make themselves feel better about being wrong.

The existing rules have existed for a very, very long time. Hillary and Billy should have know the rules. They should have been well aware of the existing rules considering this was their fourth presidential campaign. And Hillary still lost.

Seriously? Is a violent fool who managed to cut herself really the face of the "other side" that you want represented in the news?
