So Trump throws support behind this doctor who is on the front lines in the battle against covid19 and you automatically discredit her as some sort of wacko?

I’d say someone who believes in gynecological problems are caused by having sex with demons and witches in dreams and reptilians running things is a wacko.

What would you say? A little eccentric? Alternative facts?

9 ( +13 / -4 )

This, my fellow Americans, is the "President" of the United States.

The fact that we are even discussing this garbage means that trump's job of destroying America is very nearly done.

You all must admit that it's kind of nice to see that DT is capable of taking a woman professional seriously.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Stella also claims that the government is run by 'reptilians' and other aliens.

and BLM's leaders are trained Marxists that are against fatherhood. Yet you throw your WHOLE support to them.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

what has that got to do with the almost dozen world renowned research institutes studies that showed no evidence that hydroxychloroquine is effective in treating covid19

So Trump throws support behind this doctor who is on the front lines in the battle against covid19 and you automatically discredit her as some sort of wacko? What are your credentials? I want covid19 to be over and done with but you seem to be some sort of big fan of it just to get Trump out of office. I am absolutely sick of it!

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

In the video, Dr. Stella Immanuel, a physician from Houston, promotes hydroxychloroquine as a sure-fire cure for the coronavirus.

Stella also claims that the government is run by 'reptilians' and other aliens.

I might not agree about aliens, but 'reptilians' sounds an apt description for this administration.

Twitter put Trump Jr.’s account on a 12-hour timeout, meaning he cannot tweet or retweet during that period. He was also required to delete the tweet before he’ll be reinstated. Twitter declined to say when the 12-hour timeout began.

Twitter should create a separate section for trump, his equally unintelligent son and others and classify it as 'raving lunatics'.

It will be another comedy channel and trump might even become popular, as a comedian!!!

strangerland

No, the real issue is that Trump didn't want to face reality that Covid was real,

Neither did the WHO initially, and neither did Trump opponents at the time. In hindsight, we are always so clever.

Anyway, this article is bout hydroxychloroquine, and to dismiss it for political reasons only is inexcusable.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

The real issue here is that the mainstream media and establishment have decided to refuse a promising drug simply because Trump mentioned it. THAT is the scandal.

No, the real issue is that Trump didn't want to face reality that Covid was real, because he was a one-trick pony who needed the economy to be good for his reelection, and facing covid would mean hurting the economy.

So he grasped at anything to try to make the people feel better. "Only 15 cases - they'll go away". He claimed "and we have this drug, hydroxychloroquine which works" he claimed.

Through his ineptitude in politicizing this drug, an inordinate amount of resources have been focused on both proving and disproving the efficacy of this drug, instead of following actual data to figure out which drugs work best.

Competent leaders around the world didn't try to pretend the virus wasn't an issue. Competent leaders around the world didn't politicize a drug.

Trump did both of these.

fascism'

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Fasism'

The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”

The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”

The cult of action for action’s sake. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.”

Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”

Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”

Appeal to social frustration. “One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.”

The obsession with a plot. “The followers must feel besieged. The easiest way to solve the plot is the appeal to xenophobia.”

The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”

Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”

Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”

Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”

Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”

Science is not about blocking all data and information that points in one direction and only accept the data that favors one's desired outcome.

and yet almost a dozen studies have shown no evidence that hydroxychloroquine is effective in treating covid19, there are no studies that show the benefits of this treatment outweigh the side effects. That's the thing with science, it belittles the deniers

7 ( +8 / -1 )

She knows more than you do, and maybe more than Dr. Fauci who was telling us before not to wear masks.

what has that got to do with the almost dozen world renowned research institutes studies that showed no evidence that hydroxychloroquine is effective in treating covid19

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Oh I did not know this was about Trump, what a surprise... But typically the whole thing is turned around and certain aspects taken out of context and presented in such a way that it serves the mainstream point of view and everyone participating seems like a lunatic. I watched the video yesterday and thought it was very well done, with all the various doctors sharing their experiences and opinions, except the tall black doctor who seemed to talk in circles... I tried to share the video several times since it kept being removed. Censorship these days is really getting bad and we really need to find other ways to communicate with each other, without going through the social media giants who apparently now do joint attempts to block any information that does not fit the mainstream agenda. Welcome to the beginnings of communism where anyone who dares to speak against or even question the status quo gets silenced immediately. This is very disturbing.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Scientific studies have shown the drug can do more harm than good when used to treat symptoms of COVID-19,

That is fake news. Some studies say that, but other show it has good results if used correctly.

The real issue here is that the mainstream media and establishment have decided to refuse a promising drug simply because Trump mentioned it. THAT is the scandal.

Are medical professionals across the world in on the conspiracy to play down the use of cheap and safe drugs so profits can be made on vaccines?

Fauci (and his friends) has great influence on the funding of their research, and they know it. Interestingly, Fauci is responsible for providing significant funds to the Wuhan lab that likely started this "pandemic".

Fauci has a long history of dishonesty and bullying from the time of the AIDS crisis till today.

So, to go back to what I posted:

Are medical professionals across the world in on the conspiracy to play down the use of cheap and safe drugs so profits can be made on vaccines?

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Fauci will profit tremendously from the vaccines and other treatments he is pushing onto the people. The last thing Fauci and his friends want is for people to be offered a cheap and safe drug.

There is no basis for that statement.

However it is proven that trump owns stake in a company which produces hydroxychloroquine.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Have you seen him throw the first pitch?

Have you seen trump walk down a ramp!!!

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Science is based on proving that your hypothesis is correct based on the current information.

Exactly, and science must be unbiased. Science is not about blocking all data and information that points in one direction and only accept the data that favors one's desired outcome.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

No, he has been trained for his entire professional life to profit from "pandemics" and he’ll continue to do it.

Based on the logic, the same is true for the military, nurses, doctors, paramedics, firefighters, scientists and police officers who all "profit" from the suffering of others!

Exactly, when Rumsfeld and others were talking about Iraq's WMD, he was lying to profit from the outcome.

You do not support first responders?

What?!!! By profit, I am not referring to salary. Fauci will profit tremendously from the vaccines and other treatments he is pushing onto the people. The last thing Fauci and his friends want is for people to be offered a cheap and safe drug.

In fact the federal courthouse would be burnt to the ground by now were it not being protected. fact.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

@Black

In fact the federal courthouse would be burnt to the ground by now were it not being protected. fact.

Is someone basing their claims again on future events that may or may not happen instead of actual facts? Does someone still not understand the actual definition of a fact?

So, all those Moms and Vets groups in Portland putting themselves between the federal agents and BLM protesters want to burn the government building?

LOL! Gotcha!

Stay on topic about trump and his failed leadership!

10 ( +11 / -1 )

> Twitter, Facebook, and every single online newspaper and social media must understand that they are not more powerful than President Trump. They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

Trump must understand he is there to serve and be accountable to the American people.

Not the other way round.

Closing down criticism of the man is guaranteed to end his regime.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Dream on.

You really believe that fascism will be allowed flourish in the US?

Dream on.

The end of the Trump junta is nigh.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

no, because there was violence well before the feds arrived.

The feds say they won't leave Portland until the violence stops. Privately, they concede they're fueling that violence.

In fact the federal courthouse would be burnt to the ground by now were it not being protected. fact.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

He doesn't believe what he is telling everyone, he ignores social distancing and mask wearing when he thinks nobody is watching.

Hmmm, and how do you know this?

What is it about science that frightens people so much?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

The argument that one's freedom is being violated for wearing a coronavirus preventative mask isn't right. It isn't tyranny to be asked to wear a mask.

Indeed. Isn't it positively surreal to see grown men and women freaking out over masks and at the same time support the teargassing of moms and veterans?

One of these situations leads to fascism.

And it ain't the wearing of masks.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

That's not what science is. Serrano. Science is based on proving that your hypothesis is correct based on the current information. I know this is the current argument style favored on the internet "Prove me wrong", but proving a negative is generally limited to math and physics.

Serrano

Why censor them? Prove them wrong if you can.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Ah, yes. Dr Immanuel.

Dr Immanuel has previously claimed the government is run by "reptilians" and that scientists are developing a vaccine to stop people being religious, among other bizarre views.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

@Black

now apply that to the violent protests where police have been injured and people have been killed.

My freedom does not have to meet your desired behavior and is not restricted only to the freedom that a representative government is willing to give me. what you think is best- that is what your freedom is for.

Here we go again! You can't defend the undefendable, so you resort to rehashing other debunked points from previous threads to distract. Stay on topic!

Ironically, the person benefiting the most from other people's pain and suffering has been the trump family!

Your liberties end where others are endangered with higher risks because of you. Everyone has a right to live healthy with less risk imposed by selfish and reckless others. You endanger people around you.

>

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

No, he has been trained for his entire professional life to profit from "pandemics" and he’ll continue to do it.

Exactly.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

is there an "accurate understanding" of these topics?

Absolutely, there is. Science and facts aside, think about this:

The argument that one's freedom is being violated for wearing a coronavirus preventative mask isn't right. It isn't tyranny to be asked to wear a mask. Wearing a mask during a pandemic is to keep you and your neighbor safe, and is a part of civility. Your liberties end where others are endangered with higher risks because of you. Everyone has a right to live healthy with less risk imposed by selfish and reckless others. You endanger people around you.

If you do get the coronavirus, and I hope you don't, remember this. You can exercise your right not to be transported by ambulance, not to be treated by first responders and not to be treated by doctors and nurses who are all endangered by every patient who is treated for the coronavirus. It should be their right to ask you if you wore a mask, and if you didn't, their freedoms allow them not to treat you. You don't get a ventilator because they don't care about people who ignored the simplicity of trying to prevent the virus from spreading or getting it themselves. Mask wearers only could be printed on ventilators. DNR tatoo'd on non mask wearers.

You should wear a badge saying I refuse to wear a mask. It is my freedom. Health care workers, you are free not to treat me.

But that logic doesn't hold up because health care workers are more conscientious and caring and selfless in their quest to help people in need. Freedom to not wear a mask. Freedom to not treat the reckless who endanger others.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Dr. Fauci, you are hundred times the man trump will ever be!!!

Have you seen him throw the first pitch?

“We're in the middle of a crisis with regard to an epidemic, a pandemic. This is what I do," Fauci said. "This is what I’ve been trained for my entire professional life and I’ll continue to do it.”

Scientific studies have shown the drug can do more harm than good when used to treat symptoms of COVID-19, but doctors who believe otherwise argued for its use at an event Monday in Washington, citing their own experiences treating patients with the drug. The news conference and ensuing viral video was organized by Tea Party Patriots Action, a dark money group that has helped fund a pro-Trump political action committee.

Geez, I thought Trump had moved on from his nutty promotion of hydro - just goes to show in addition to dementia, he also has ACD. And who are these crazy Tea Party weirdos. I thought they were all the "balanced budget now" folks - maybe they've been to busy with their conspiracy theories to know their own party has raised the deficit to its highest ever - and just did it again with another trillion dollar socialist bailout.

Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr, and others shared video of the event on Facebook and Twitter, prompting both companies to step in and remove the content as part of an aggressive push to keep the sites free of potentially harmful information about the virus — though not before more than 17 million people had seen one version of the video circulating on the web.

Don Jr and his Daddy issues - can't get over the fact that Ivanka is Donald's favorite kid...

“You don’t need masks, there is a cure,” Immanuel says in the video. She and Gold are part of a group called America's Frontline Doctors that held a news conference Monday in Washington to discuss their experiences with hydroxychloroquine. But in videos posted to her Facebook page, Immanuel regularly wears masks while preaching during religious events.

And this clown has a medical license? Boost hydro and go to church to have your pastor "blow the virus away"... Just like Trump, they're helping put his supporters in the ground...

November cannot come soon enough. It is a true time of reckoning for the United States.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

We know it doesn't. The reverse is true.

It does work in some cases. This is being suppressed because Big Pharma doesn't make money on hydroxy.

The media has highly politicized medical treatment to suppress anything positive about hydroxy, which Trump takes. If it was dangerous would his physicians let him take it?

-20 ( +1 / -21 )

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.

The Trumps' family witchdoctor must have overdosed on repeated viewings of the sci-fi movie "THEY LIVE" where aliens in the guise of humans have taken over the government of America. Or else do her antivaxx theories go to explain how the president became so irreligious? The internet has made the availability of information on a scale beyond the dreams of the ancients, but many of us are none the wiser judging from the dross regurgitated daily on social media. As George W. Bush so eloquently put it:  'Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?'

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Poor Trump. He really has no idea what to do.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Twitter, Facebook, and every single online newspaper and social media must understand that they are not more powerful than President Trump. They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

Ha ha ha... It's all going to plan in Putin's America. :-)

9 ( +11 / -2 )

She knows more than you do, and maybe more than Dr. Fauci who was telling us before not to wear masks.

Given that the demon sex doctor hasn't led clinical research into the matter, and is still going against the clinical evidence, I think she knows less than me and vastly led than Dr Fauci, who is an actual expert in the matter.

The only thing she should be more aware of is the Dunning-Kruger effect, of which she is an excellent example.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

There is blood on the hands of people who censor info that could save lives.

We know it doesn't. The reverse is true.

There is blood on the hands of those who treat patients with a drug that hasn't passed clinical trials for the treatment of COVID-19.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

is there an "accurate understanding" of these topics? I surely thought that freedom and patriotism would mean different things to each individual. If the government or the mob determines these and dictates compliance by violence and censorship, what is the point of having it?

If they could get their understanding of freedom and patriotism accurate

-17 ( +1 / -18 )

I just saw his live conference this morning. Half pf the press conference was trump complaining that Fauci is more popular than he is. He was jealous that Fauci got invited to throw the first pitch and that people trust him more than the president. The most interesting point was the president complaining, "Nobody likes me!"

"Nobody likes me!"

Donald 'Charlie Brown' Trump.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Trump doesn't like people who are smarter than he is: Obama, Fauci, anyone working for the CDC, WHO, UN, most world leaders, experts ...

He only likes people who have the same level of intelligence as he: his sons, son-in-law, daughter, Kim Jong Un, ....

Isn't it any wonder that he only employs family members, close friends, or those he owes a favor to?

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Why censor them? Prove them wrong if you can.

They've been proved wrong by multiple studies. I'm not sure her theory about Demon sex has been fully investigated yet though to be fair to you. You really find her credible just because she's on basement youtube?

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Twitter, Facebook, and every single online newspaper and social media must understand that they are not more powerful than President Trump. They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

Good grief, you want Trump to be a dictator according to what's written here. Just stop.

The lack of comprehension by Trump followers is typical, and this statement shows an ignorance toward the United States of America, her constitution, democracy and freedom.

Trump followers egregiously equate not wearing masks to freedom, and then make just as egregious statements where freedom is exactly being stifled. If they could get their understanding of freedom and patriotism accurate, they'd quit using uneducated misinformation for narrative over factual critical thinking,

11 ( +12 / -1 )

@Johnson Lee

If only the silent didn't speak the world would be a better place.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

"Dr." Immanuel

She knows more than you do, and maybe more than Dr. Fauci who was telling us before not to wear masks.

Why censor them? Prove them wrong if you can.

-22 ( +2 / -24 )

The major Lancet paper that claimed hydroxychloroquine was ineffective and dangerous was retracted.

After throwing that awful first pitch, Fauci did not practice social distancing (sandwiched tightly between two people) and was not wearing a mask. Fauci is a fraud and a hypocrite, and not just because of what he did in the stadium...

Doctors treating covid patients that have different views are censored from social media. This entire covid "pandemic" stinks, and more people are waking up to it.

-20 ( +0 / -20 )

so no one is curious why social media companies feel that they are the definitive experts about medical treatments?

They are going further and further down the path of being a publisher with a viewpoint and narrative rather than a platform for the exchange of information. It is also a coordinated effort between YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, which is new as well.

-20 ( +4 / -24 )

There is blood on the hands of people who censor info that could save lives.

-20 ( +4 / -24 )

They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

I'm smiling at the image of Trump somehow banning twitter, then trying to log in to brag about it and getting 404'd, before slumping deep into his armchair.

Trump and "Dr." Immanuel, a marriage made in heaven:

"She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens."

"In sermons posted on YouTube and articles on her website, Immanuel claims that medical issues like endometriosis, cysts, infertility, and impotence are caused by sex with “spirit husbands” and “spirit wives”—a phenomenon Immanuel describes essentially as witches and demons having sex with people in a dreamworld."

"Immanuel’s bizarre medical ideas don’t stop with demon sex in dreams. In a 2015 sermon that laid out a supposed Illuminati plan hatched by “a witch” to destroy the world using abortion, gay marriage, and children’s toys, among other things, Immanuel claimed that DNA from space aliens is currently being used in medicine. "

Trump's new favourite doctor. Unreal.

16 ( +17 / -1 )

I'm not a huge fan of censorship, especially when we're dealing with information that is vital to humanity.

However, this is not the case here. The video showed a group of doctors, including an orthopedic and ophthalmologist, make dubious and unsubstantiated claims. None of their findings have been published in a journal nor peer reviewed. So until, they go through the proper channels of publishing findings, their claims are close to worthless. Of course it would be peddled by Breitbart and Republicans. They have a distaste for credible facts and science.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Censorship is a cowardly way of silencing people. That's all I have to say on this paper. The silent majority will speak in November. Thank you!.

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

The president who got elected via outside interference and misinformation doesn't like being "censored" on social media, go figure.

But I can understand why he's upset when his supporters base their entire world view off their FB news feed that uses algorithms to reinforce said beliefs based off misinformation.

One thing we can learn from this presidency and most recently the public's reaction to COVID is that the US is screwed.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Only now Twitter? You should have been deleting his tweets from long ago. Racist, sexist, violence breeding tweets and all the lies spewing out of his fat little fingers; of course the orange genius and his herd are going to come after you, you've been letting him get away with it all these times.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Oh, but I thought that Trump was now "grown-up" and "presidential" after his sober press conference a few days ago? The guy just can't help himself. He is who he is. But it's the rest of us who will have to pay the price.

They are frequently followed by deeply mistaken perceptions already debunked by science, only repeated because one person feels he knows better than everybody else.

They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

The rest of the world will welcome them.

Family Trump does, however, believe in this doctor:

Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.

Christ, you couldn't even make this stuff up.

Donald Trump Jr. declared the video of Stella Immanuel a “must watch,” while Donald Trump himself retweeted the video.

Then when the press began asking about the tweets on hydroxychloroquine, he started saying many doctors say it works. Then trump got frustrated in the middle because he couldn't defend it.

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube began scrubbing their sites of the video of the doctors on Monday because it includes misleading claims about hydroxychloroquine, and glosses over the dangers of taking it. Conservative news outlets, groups and internet personalities shared it, and one version racked up more than 17 million views before Facebook took it down.

Once again, only one political party is trying to purposely lie to the public and put people's lives at risk to maintain political power!

@Hokkaidoboy

They will have to move out of America.

Are you serious?! The USA is still a democracy and its President can't act unilaterally like the dictators of some countries. And the sooner this disgraceful human and his cohort - the Trump regime - is removed from the Whitehouse, the better off the world will be.

As to the main point of the story: debate is fine but it should not be conducted via social media. There should be arguments for and against, consideration of research, pier reviewed data published, before any public announcements. Social media speculation by lay-people will always be there. But people in authority should be working behind closed doors until there is something factual to say.

The disrespect being shown to Dr. Fauci is incredible. He's an EXPERT being assisted and advised by other EXPERTS! He didn't get his medical credentials out of a packet of Cornflakes!

President Donald Trump and his son shared a fresh dose of misinformation

The most dishonest politician in US history. Under his watch the USS Petri Dish is an unguided (the cadet who's supposed to be at the helm is off playing golf with former professional athletes - from the US south - and tweeting C list celebrities, a higher priority than 150,000 dead, more than 4,000,000 sickened and his economy in shambles) nuclear powered disaster.

They will have to move out of America.

Cheering on Trump's brand of national socialism where the authoritarian has the greatest control over businesses. See Russia and China today. Achtung

They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.

You obviously know very, very little about the rights of private companies, especially social media and press companies, in America.

Not saying that Donald Trump wouldn't love to have only good news and his moronic conspiracies touted by all the press. But those pesky facts and reality are being reported and protected by this little thing called the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Twitter, Facebook, and every single online newspaper and social media must understand that they are not more powerful than President Trump. They are going to lose their battle if Trump decides to order them to stop ceasing operation. They will have to move out of America.
