who said it betrayed his promise

Trump's promise? Like Mexico paying for his wall? Like cutting the debt? Only some in Trump's hard core base believe much of what he says. Or he might have said depending on which of the 15,000 plus lies he's told to date he wants to push. Until he flip-flips or says the 'media' (i.e. any outlet that might question him) misquoted him - even though they'd reported exactly what he'd 'said'. Zero credibility. And he's attracted followers who'll parrot his lies.

While Trump campaigned on a promise of eventually eliminating the country's huge debt, each year of his plan projects significant budget deficits that actually would add to that $22 trillion debt.

Adding to the debt? Conservative he isn't. He's a snake oil salesman for the .01% and his family businesses. His family are getting richer while they're getting insider info while working in his admin. His golf courses profit while he's playing golf paid for by the taxpayers.

His golf courses profit while he's playing golf paid for by the taxpayers

Taxpayers have paid for every president's golf outings including Obama's, what's the big deal?

Trump doesn't take a salary. And his policies have rejuvenated the economy, lifting all boats.

Choice is clear. Re-elect Trump and give the House back to the Republicans and keep this economy moving.

Or elect the Dem candidate and give the Senate back to the Dems and watch the economy implode.

yes yes yes ... all are very much satisfying cry for a left, communist, antifa, and soros children....

Those who accuse Trump for lie! speaks a big mouth full of dirty lies..

Trump is a business man even before he became President. After becoming president 25% of his business is down. NO democrats or any Trump haters never used his hotels or golf courses, and even they discouraged people , So his business is down..

Next He or his family who are working in the white house receive no salary YES NO SALARY. Then how he makes money bro????

Like Obama he did not get any underground money. Like Biden or Nancy or Kerry none of Trump's children is getting paid from Ukraine or China.

Now another accusation When trump play golf the fees paid by tax payers!!!! Obama's golf and vocation , Clinton's Golf and vocation all are paid by tax payers money.

The economy grew 2.3% in calendar year 2019.

Trump has yet to hiit 3% growth ever despite tax cuts, interest rate cuts, and record low unemployment.

What's going on?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

There should be a group of Republicans opposing the president's deficit spending. They could call it "The Tea Party" or something like that.

What's going on?

An economic boom, with record low unemployment and millions lifted out of welfare. :D

Inconceivable! Next thing you know, they'll say they should nominate the former governor of some state like, I don't know, Alaska or something to be the VP!

Trump has yet to hiit 3% growth ever despite tax cuts, interest rate cuts, and record low unemployment.

Current-dollar GDP increased 4.1 percent, or $848.8 billion, in 2019 to a level of $21.43 trillion, compared with an increase of 5.4 percent, or $1,060.8 billion, in 2018

We’re now in the 4th quarter, be patient, we already hit the gravy train. It’ll tick up again, you should be happy, this will definitely keep Trump in power and more difficult to beat in November.

What's going on?

Democrats need to stock up on the Mylanta.

How? Specifics please.

while they're getting insider info while working in his admin. His golf courses profit while he's playing golf paid for by the taxpayers.

It’s legal. They were his business before he became President, so what’s your point?

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Bass:. We’re now in the 4th quarter, be patient, we already hit the gravy train. It’ll tick up again, you should be happy, this will definitely keep Trump in power and more difficult to beat in November.

Trump has never hit 3% annual growth. The 4th quarter won't change that this year. No amount of copy and paste will change that. Not will deflections.

You railed on Obama for year for not reaching 3% annually. Even Trump's record low unemployment follows a straight line from the Obama years. If you looked a graph you'd have no idea when Trump became president.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Trump has never hit 3% annual growth.

He did in 2018 like with Trump’s acquittal, it’s in the record books.

The 4th quarter won't change that this year. No amount of copy and paste will change that. Not will deflections.

Wouldn't do that.

You railed on Obama for year for not reaching 3% annually.

Yes, especially having a slow and stagnant job growth in the private sector.

Even Trump's record low unemployment follows a straight line from the Obama years.

Not when it comes to the Black unemployment.

If you looked a graph you'd have no idea when Trump became president.

Reuter's, the Second most liberal outlet that hates Trump..hmm....

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump is a business man even before he became President.

A failed business man who scammed many, many people.

Nobody should trust this criminal with their money.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hmmmm...not what Trump's Dept of Commerce says on its website; GDP 2017: 2.6%, 2018: 2.9%, 2019: 2.3%. GDP growth is decreasing under Trump - understandable given trade wars and tariffs - you know, those thing Repubs used to hate.

https://www.bea.gov/system/files/2020-01/gdp4q19_adv_0.pdf

Burst that fairy tale balloon - Trump's economy is far worse than Obama's - and is more like his fellow Repub Bush II - who caused the Great Recession of 2007.

When it comes to the economy, Clinton cleaned up for Bush 1, Obama cleaned up for Bush II, Biden, Bernie, or Buttigeig will clean up for D3 (Donnie the Dimwit and Disaster)...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The White House proposal slashes spending by $4.4 trillion over 10 years, and aims to reduce the deficit by $4.6 trillion in that time period.

So with annual budget deficits of $1 trillion baked in due to social spending being excluded from discretionary authority, these “cuts” will increase the total federal debt by a mere $5 trillion over the next decade? I’m not impressed.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Bass:. He did in 2018

No, bass. He didn't.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-economy-gdp/u-s-second-quarter-gdp-growth-raised-to-4-2-percent-idUSKCN1LE1GB

You still mix quarterly and annually. Obama also hit over 4% quarterly.

Not when it comes to the Black unemployment.

Yes, bass. Black unemployment fell for both. It's a straight line down from Obama to Trump.

Jist yelling "socialist!" at everyone doesn't make you an economist. Everything you posted is wrong.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

No, bass. He didn't.

He sure did.

You still mix quarterly and annually. Obama also hit over 4% quarterly.

Not really.

January, 2009, 11.6 million Americans were unemployed, with 23% of those unemployed for more than 6 months. By January, 2012, 12.8 million were unemployed, with 43% of those out of work more than 6 months.

At the official end of the recession in June, 2009, America was 12.6 million jobs short of full employment. By January, 2012, we were 15.2 million jobs short, falling behind by another 244,000 in that month alone.

Yes, bass. Black unemployment fell for both. It's a straight line down from Obama to Trump.

No, not really.

For blacks, the unemployment rate was still 13.6%, even assuming another 350,000 African Americans dropping out of the labor force in January alone. For Hispanics, 650,000 were assumed to drop out of the work force in January alone, but the Hispanic unemployment rate was still in double digits at 10.5%.

For teenagers, the unemployment rate was still 23.2%, even though an additional 400,000 were assumed to have dropped out of the work force in January alone. For black teenagers, the unemployment rate was still nearly 40%.

Jist yelling "socialist!" at everyone doesn't make you an economist. Everything you posted is wrong.

No, this is why Dems are in danger of losing again, and it just feels so good to watch that train wreck unfold.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

@Plasticmonkey,

There is really no difference between Trump supporters agreeing with trump and Lefties disagreeing with him. When a Dem president is in it's also the same.

“Everyone knows the latest Trump budget is dead on arrival in Congress,"

Spot on!!!

A budget which attacks social welfare and Medicare is not going to go through.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It includes funding to build a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico and fight the opioid crisis,

What? That wall he promised to build in 2016 and now three years later and it ain't built? And why is funding in OUR budget and not Mexico's? Remember, "Mark my words"? What a Loser...

but cuts billions of dollars from safety net programs under the banner of welfare reform.

Repub Mantra: Unborn children, we love you - once you're born and need food and care, you know, things that cost money - tough luck...

The Congressional Budget Office predicts the U.S. economy will grow 2.2% in the current fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30, and grow less than 2.0% in future years.

BINGO! GDP estimated at 2.2% this year and less than 2.0% in the out-years. That's pathetic! Trump will have a series of consecutive years of decreased GDP - the key definition of a failing economy!

Two things you can count on with a Repub President - 1) a new war in the Middle East, and 2) a pitiful, failing economy...

Jul 2011: 9%. Jan 2016: 4.9%. Sept 2019: 3.5%.

Unemployment decreased more under Obama

https://www.bostonherald.com/2020/01/22/the-truth-behind-obamas-job-numbers/

A chart from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the trend in labor force participation and the unemployment rate adjusted for labor force dropouts from 2009 to 2019. The strange thing about the Obama recovery was more jobs and less willing workers. When a person isn’t looking for a job, for whatever reason, they do not get labeled as unemployed. The joke a few years ago was that Obama would shrink the unemployment rate to zero through the magic formula of driving millions out of the workforce. In a world where everyone is living off of welfare or a trust fund, and no one is looking for a job — there are officially no unemployed people.

Donny’s base of uneducated, poorly employed might be fine with reducing student load subsidies, it’s not of any use to them.

But when it comes to social welfare and Medicare they’ll not be happy for sure .

Rally's outperforming and sold out over anything any Democrat candidate can muster and growing, damn these poorly unedumacated people.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Rally's outperforming and sold out over anything any Democrat candidate can muster and growing,

Don't believe everything Donny tells you.

As we have seen from history the extreme right has fewer people who make a lot of noise and who then crash and burn.

Sweet. I've been asking for this. It's the narrative that said Obama's declining unemployment rate somehow wasn't real, then that all changed when Trump took office. The exact same measurement became real again. I asked for the several times and finally I get it delivered to me.

So it's like this: Trump's unemployment numbers aren't real because they don't take into account people who have stopped looking for jobs. It's all smoke and mirrors. I'm assuming, just like the article above, that the number is real and very high.

Also, if you are going to post someone else's work, at least have the courtesy of giving them credit, Mr. Journalist.

I'm not for labeling or denigrating people, but what can you say when you see this at a Trump rally...

The Jacobsons met Chrisy and her husband, Paul, hours earlier in the line to get into the Jan 14 rally. The couples bonded over their shared interest in QAnon, which centers on the baseless belief that Trump is waging a secret campaign against enemies in the “deep state” and a child sex trafficking ring run by satanic pedophiles and cannibals.

What started as an online obsession for the far-right fringe has grown beyond its origins in a dark corner of the internet. QAnon has been creeping into the mainstream political arena for more than a year. The trend shows no sign of abating as Trump fires up his reelection campaign operation, attracting a loyal audience of conspiracy theorists and other fringe groups to his raucous rallies.

Many followers believe the late John F. Kennedy Jr. is a Trump supporter who faked his death in a 1999 plane crash. Another core belief is that thousands of deep state operatives and top Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Obama, will be rounded up and sent to Guantanamo Bay during an event called “The Storm.”

Trump has retweeted QAnon-promoting accounts. Followers flock to Trump’s rallies wearing clothes and hats with QAnon symbols and slogans.

Sweet. I've been asking for this. It's the narrative that said Obama's declining unemployment rate somehow wasn't real, then that all changed when Trump took office.

Liberals want to continue to ride the Trump train for another 4 years? Yeah, we get it. Lol

So it's like this: Trump's unemployment numbers aren't real because they don't take into account people who have stopped looking for jobs.

Well, that is not true actually, you have more people looking for jobs and especially in the blue collar industry you have more jobs than people to fill them or as we call it, gravy.

It's all smoke and mirrors. I'm assuming,

Obama’s was precisely that. But he’s gone, so it’s doesn’t matter now.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Well, he gave a trillion dollars to the upper 1% who didn't need anything in the first place. A clear example of pure greed. Now he wants to cut Social Security, Medicare, etc., for the people who actually do need it. A clear example of how little the rich know about those who live in the struggling classes beneath them. Wall St. is doing great but the middle class is having the heck of it squeezed out. Another 4 years of Trump is going to be unmerciful for a lot of hard working folks who aren't rich at all.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Liberals want to continue to ride the Trump train for another 4 years? Yeah, we get it. Lol

You completely missed it. Hahaha!

Well, that is not true actually, you have more people looking for jobs and especially in the blue collar industry you have more jobs than people to fill them or as we call it, gravy.

This does nothing to refute the assertion that the unemployment numbers don’t reflect people that have stopped looking for work.

Obama’s was precisely that. But he’s gone, so it’s doesn’t matter now.

If this were remotely true, the current bull market wouldn’t have begun under Obama.

Is really is too easy refuting the alternative facts Trumpophiles can’t stop themselves from pushing.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That's how the GOP works in America. Cut taxes for the rich, create a deficit, then scream that we have to get the deficit under control by.....cutting social services.

bass: Well, that is not true actually

19 times Trump called jobs numbers ‘fake’ before they made him look good

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/03/10/19-times-trump-called-the-jobs-numbers-fake-before-they-made-him-look-good/

"If there was any argument over whether Trump was flip-flopping on the jobs report at the precise moment it reflected positively on him, White House press secretary Sean Spicer laid it to rest Friday afternoon, telling reporters: “I talked to the president prior to this, and he said to quote him very clearly: 'They may have been phony in the past, but it’s very real now.' ”

Get it? Phony under Obama, real under Trump. The used the fake numbers narrative and then suddenly dropped it when Donald was put into office.

Oh, and Trump has yet to hit 3% annual growth. I'll just keep telling you that until it sinks in. You used to constantly bash Obama for not reaching that number.
