Bass: Being educated in a foreign country and being allowed to roam around at will are two entirely different things.

Kim wasn't allowed to roam around while overseas?

So you must reeeeealy hate the liberal media then

The Conservative media talk about the wall being built. But so far no proof any any wall.

But let's hope for a Trump success. And if there is Trump success any room for any Trump hotels in NK?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I can't speak for liberals but I think you'll find many here advocated dialogue. And have been doing so for many years.

I can, but on a serious note, virtually, everyone advocated the for the same thing, but diplomacy is nothing if it is not backed up by military strength.

I'll put my mistrust of both leaders on hold for now and just watch in awe and hope like the rest of the world.

We all feel and hope for the same thing.

well you know statements need to backed up with facts, not just made up BS to appease a base, or labeling everything fake facts when you have no facts of your own as proof, thats what propaganda is.

So you must reeeeealy hate the liberal media then. Well, that's a refreshing breath of fresh air.

If you look at the lie count, Trump won that competition in a landslide (Trumpslide)*

Actually, a few polls came out that the media beat Trump by a landslide since they ARE on 24/7

SlickdrifterToday 02:13 pm JST

Last week G7- Trump wants a better dealer for the American people.

at whose expense? it's not exactly like america's trading partners are getting away with murder. they've made concessions as well. trump and his handlers speak and act as though canadian/european/japanese streets are paved with american gold. anyone who lives in any of those countries can attest that agreements with the USA have always been "more give than take". it's not their faults that american corporations choose to screw their workers. if trump is looking for boogeymen to villianize he need look no further than the membership rolls at mar-a-lago. the real swamp.

If this meeting marks the end of the DPRK’s 70-year long experiment in trickle down economics that alone will have made it a success from the common man’s point of view.

I do recall that candidate Trump mentioned that he’d be willing to talk to Kim. Many people dismissed it at the time but it impressed me - not enough to vote for him - but it did seem like fresh air.

Fingers and toes crossed.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Apparently, Trump and Kim will sign an agreement to "acknowledge the progress of the talks and pledge to keep momentum going".

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Say what you wanna say. (PROGRESS FOR THE REGION). This is a win for the Trump administration.

Last week G7- Trump wants a better dealer for the American people.

Goes to Singapore.

This week sits down with DPRK Chairmen and open doors.

What about the liberal propaganda, if I may ask? well you know statements need to backed up with facts, not just made up BS to appease a base, or labeling everything fake facts when you have no facts of your own as proof, thats what propaganda is. The sanctions should only be lessened slightly until a fully enfranchised populace votes for a democratically-elected government in North Korea.

Going by this logic, sanctions should be in place against China and Saudi Arabia, right..

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"I feel really great," Trump said. "It's gonna be a great discussion and I think tremendous success. I think it's gonna be really successful and I think we will have a terrific relationship, I have no doubt."

if things go sideways because of his lack of preparedness/attention (to detail) and commitment to "winging it", i want someone to read this quote to him and ask him how his big, orange Jabba-like gut could've been so wrong. was it the hubris? the arrogance? the entire lifetime of having been propped up? being surrounded by spineless psychophants who saw it all coming and never had the courage to apply the brakes?

the train is racing along the track. it's coming to a sharp curve on a mountainside. should slowdown but, instead they're stoking the fire and building speed. i've never seen a train derail on a mountainside before but, i imagine it's an awesome sight to behold. #trumptrain

strange how liberals keep adding things. Denuclearization AND human rights. Denucleanization AND democratic reform. Gotta keep moving those goalposts until there is a reason to claim failure, right?

Heh, sounds like you are getting frustrated about the very thing your team did for 8 years of Obama.

I don't even think it's happening in reality, but I do get a feeling of schadenfreude watching your annoyance at your perception of what you think is happening.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

But conventional war? It would take 15-20 years before American troops finally have to withdraw from North Korea, of course without admitting they have failed to defeat them.

And all the while the military industrial magnates and others are making obscene profits at the expense of Joe taxpayer. There is always collateral damage in war.

2 hr 10 min ago

Kim Jong Un did not answer when asked whether he would give up his nukes

See where CNN is going with this? Without mentioning he didnt answer..... a CNN reporter who yelled it at him in English as he walked by.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Nope, cnn.com and an IPTV service. Im not paying for CNN. I just turn it and MSNBC on from time to time as a preview of what liberal talking points I am going to hear soon. Just like the Obama guy said it was "jarring" to see our flag next to the N Korea one, 10 mins later a guy here used the exact same word. Talking points.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Blacklabel, exactly.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

oh yeah our CNN friends are beside themselves with grief that things are going well.

They are trying to push the narrative now that it was wrong for N Korea to be treated as equals and that its wrong for there to be the same exact number of N Korean flags as there were USA ones.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

strange how liberals keep adding things. Denuclearization AND human rights. Denucleanization AND democratic reform. Gotta keep moving those goalposts until there is a reason to claim failure, right?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Great to have so much effusive praise on the record here. Should anything less than immedaite denuclearization and democratic reforms occur before Trump starts making bargains and slashing sanctions, I expect all of you to rain down hellish contempt.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The CNN anchors are not happy!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The worst-case scenario for Japan: a nuclear-armed unified Korea.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And so many people, especially liberals, said it could never happen.

I can't speak for liberals but I think you'll find many here advocated dialogue. And have been doing so for many years.

Well he spent quite a bit of time in Switzerland for his education.

Being educated in a foreign country and being allowed to roam around at will are two entirely different things.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

As we speak, CNN is putting trump down.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Then youve got the problem with Trumps signature on any future agreement , as we know Trumps word is as worthless as the paper its signed on it may as well be written on toilet paper. Trump will put more loopholes and sunset clauses in it so he can cancel and change stuff whenever he sees fit. Pretty much how he runs his businesses and escape creditors for all his bankruptcies.

He restructures and comes back stronger than before and smart to use the bankruptcy laws the way they were intended, kept most of his promises and we wouldn't be here is Clinton would have not fallen for the trap of the NK perception, but Trump is not going to make the same mistakes the other Presidents made, I know, the left are deeply worried, 2nd term being solidified as we speak. Trump indeed can be a jerk, but he can also be pleasant and understanding and the left hate it.

no moderators just deleting propaganda , well done.

What about the liberal propaganda, if I may ask?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

@ Serrano

Don't forget Trump will most certainly want to hang out with Rodman, too. A White House invitation to Rodman is surely in the offing to reminisce over their new buddy Kim and show the world that Trump is not a racist. A diplomatic win-win for the orange GDOAT ( Greatest Dealmaker of All Time).

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Bet Kim can't wait til this meeting is over so he can hang out with his old buddy Dennis Rodman who is there wearing a Make America Great Again cap!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

OssanAmerica:

"Trump with his red tie that goes down to his crotch. Now let's wait for the results."

My mind went somewhere else as I read that ;)=

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

"Peace" talks that shoulda, coulda and woulda happened decades ago if it had not been for the arrogance and pusillanimity of the Cold War Amerikan elite and it"s obsession with full spectrum global domination. It took an ignoramus like Trump, an unconventional politician whose interests are only his own and not those of Amerika's ruling elites to cut through the BS and make a deal mano a mano with a young, inexperienced dictator. Trump is in his element here, relishing his newly acquired powers to "make a deal", pick up a Nobel and bask in the limelight with an eye to 2020. But then there is Robert Mueller...

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Jim Acosta of CNN was there grandstanding again yelling out inappropriate questions about sensitive matters as Kim and Trump walking by.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

You had to figure CNN and the must-bash-Trump minions would have to come up with some negative spin: Our flag next to NK flag is an abomination, US leaders talk to NK all the time what's the big deal, this meeting won't accomplish anything, Trump was rude at the G'7 etc etc yeah yeah yeah so predictable.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Bass: I think that Kim was really impressed seeing what the free market can bring taking in all the sights and prosperity in Singapore and he might want to bring some of that to his country

Well he spent quite a bit of time in Switzerland for his education.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

1. Murdering dictator? A-OK.

2. Our historically friendly neighbors from Canada? Hate them.

$500million loan from China and all is quiet on the eastern front.
5 ( +10 / -5 )

Not too shabby for a guy who all the "experts" said had no path to 270. why Americans and prior presidents have shook hands with the NK leaders before, what will be interesting is if Trump can actually make an offer to Kim to give up his nukes, because believe it , he wont give them up for free.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

So far so good. Nice and cordial.  yes pretty much sums up all Trump meetings, nice words , pats on the back, then when hes back in Airforce one or in the Oval office out comes the phone and the insults start,

If the left open up their stupid mouth like De Niro, he probably might.

you know because its easier to insult someone when there not in front of you to answer

The media and Democrats should expertly know this.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Meh, Ill wait for the results before we celebrate any new changes.

The only thing that worries me is that IF Trump actually manages to get some information about the kidnapped Japanese people, Abe in turn will use this as ammo for his next campaign and say "See I did it" and people will re-vote for him.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I'd love to know how this is playing out on the news in NK. "Look at our beloved leader outsmarting the American devil to bring peace and prosperity to our country"

0 ( +2 / -2 )

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Politics and party favorites aside, let's wish them a successful summit.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Liberals on MSNBC love the flag again, thanks for your input Obama administration CIA guy:

"It is a major accomplishment for Kim Jong Un. In fact, the spectacle of seeing the American flags along with the [North Korean] flags as the backdrop for that handshake is really jarring actually to see, to witness. In fact, I would say it's somewhat disgusting. It is actually a debasement of the American flag," he continued.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

"  This is a crap potentate that underlings of the USA's government should be setting straight"

And haven't been able to for decades....

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Today history is being made. Not too shabby for a guy who all the "experts" said had no path to 270.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

"As Clapper discussed the impact Rodman might’ve had weeks ago when he met North Korea’s envoy to the U.S., Clapper told an astonished Cuomo, “I have long been an advocate of involving Dennis Rodman,” in talks with the rogue regime.

Cuomo pressed him to go on, so Clapper insisted that he saw a real “potential” to engage Rodman in their work, given his strange friendliness with the North Korean dictator."

Yep, as a SPY. Oh wait, "informant"? Isnt the correct way of sitting down to talk so much better than spying?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Good luck and hopefully something positive will come out of it.

Also, take DT’s phone so he can’t tweet insults right after.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Regardless of outcome, Trump feels at home with Putin, Kim and alike.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Good luck.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I'm reminded by something James Clapper said to his NK counterpart that shut him up, America doesn't have permanent enemies.

Who the heck cares what Clapper the liar says or thinks, he has his own upcoming problems to deal with.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Trump says he has an "excellent relationship" with Kim. Comparing to how he treated allies... weird.

Anyway, the "summit" is apparently scheduled to end this afternoon. Not sure what they're supposed to achieve.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Hoping for the best on this one.

Kim had a tour of Singapore last night. Probably by design to see the possibilities.

I'm reminded by something James Clapper said to his NK counterpart that shut him up, America doesn't have permanent enemies.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

John Bolton in the meeting? John Kelly, Mike Pompeo. No Secretary of Defense, General Mattis.

Mattis is probably standing by, just in case.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I hate Trump, but this is important for America and the world as a whole.

Please keep it together and have successful talks of peace.

Thats all that matters.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The world according to Trump:

1. Murdering dictator? A-OK.

2. Our historically friendly neighbors from Canada? Hate them.

What the heck.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Matt: You know. Looking at those 2 flags side by side, one would think they are closely related countries rather than enemies.....

It is jarring to see the US flag next to the North Korean flag behind Trump and Kim. It just seems wrong.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

""Nice to meet you Mister President," Kim said"

This is historic in itself.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

And, this is not Gorbachev and Reagan. This is the purported leader of the free world meeting with one of the most horrible and dinky regimes on earth, a regime that the USA could easily destroy with little collateral damage if so inclined. Comparisons to the CCCP v. USA meetings are only ever made by infantile, trolls with no understanding of the history of glabal affairs because said trolls are flabby. This is a crap potentate that underlings of the USA's government should be setting straight. Anyone who settles for less than absolute capitulation up front by the evil regime of North Korea is just another apologist in a long line of people who deal in money and excuses.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Say what you want about President Trump, this is historic in so many ways. Peace thru strength.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

> I'm aiming for not being pessimistic.

I don't blame you

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Kim smiled. I think that Kim was really impressed seeing what the free market can bring taking in all the sights and prosperity in Singapore and he might want to bring some of that to his country which would be a great thing. Kim seems more pragmatic to want to meet somewhere in the middle, but this is the start and we can't take anything for granted or overstep what these talks can potentially bring. This is just step one, many, many more to go.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Oh dear with all the feel good stuff what are the c-rate comedians and has-been celebrities going to bash tonight?

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

All that matter is that absolute denuclearization by North Korea (with all necessary foreign inspectors and 3rd parties unequivocally given access to the four-corners of North Korea to approve that it has occured and that there is nothing in place to re-nuclearize on the sly ever again) and closure of all political prisoner camps and a cessation to the persecution of anyone in North Korea for simply holding an opinion different from the government. If that happens, and only if that happens, the USA should begin to lessen sanctions against the regime. The sanctions should only be lessened slightly until a fully enfranchised populace votes for a democratically-elected government in North Korea. Anything short of that would make Trump another in a long line of politicians from all over the spectrum who attempt short-term fame while condemning millions of humans to slavery and torture.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Lets try to be optimistic.

I'm aiming for not being pessimistic.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

So far so good. Nice and cordial. Kim in his black Mao suit. Trump with his red tie that goes down to his crotch. Now let's wait for the results.

4 ( +12 / -8 )

A north korean and an american president have met, shook hands, and sat down. Anyway you look at it, it is historic. And postively so. Lets try to be optimistic.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Liberals care. You need them to get your talking points and be told how you feeeeel about things. Here is Rodman on CNN.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS494th_Js4

enjoy!

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Who cares what CNN does? You seem to be the only poster here who watches it regularly.

With the amount of conservative focus on CNN, I sometimes wonder if there are even any liberals watching it, or if it's just a bunch of right-wingers who hate it, but drive the ratings.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Simply amazing! Peace in our times. This is biggest SUmmit since Reagan and Gorbachev, and off to a great start already. They look so happy and at ease. And so many people, especially liberals, said it could never happen. It shows that it pays to be open and willing to work for peace, unlike former hardline leaders like Obama.

Next, my dream is Kim-San will meet with PM Abe.

-3 ( +8 / -11 )

Dennis Rodman was crying tears of joy on CNN while Chris Cuomo had the same sour face he had when Hillary lost. What times we live in!

Who cares what CNN does? You seem to be the only poster here who watches it regularly.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Good on them. As much as I'm skeptical of peace and denuclearization coming from this meeting, it's certainly a potential step in the right direction. I wish them both the intelligence to know when to hold back a stupid comment.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

You know. Looking at those 2 flags side by side, one would think they are closely related countries rather than enemies.....

6 ( +10 / -4 )

"While Trump and Kim search each other’s eyes and words for signs of trust or deceit . . "

I guess the reporters are mind readers.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Good luck to Trump. If he can do this then we need to elect more crazy people- really. Pretty much all broken promises like the wall or complete Muslim ban. But if he can do this then he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Good luck! And if NK opens up then maybe a few Trump hotels here and there. Why not! Maybe Trump can buy out the Ryugyong Hotel and rebrand it as a Trump one.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

I have a feeling they will like each other a lot. They both like the attention that is for sure.

It's possible, Gorbachev and Reagen became good friend in later years, no one ever thought that possible.

It's more photo-op than anything else.Way too short talks to bear anything of consequence. Will be intros and let's keep talking. Then jet off back home for Kim and play golf in Guam and Hawaii for trump.

You don't know that.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

I have a feeling they will like each other a lot. They both like the attention that is for sure.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Dennis Rodman was crying tears of joy on CNN while Chris Cuomo had the same sour face he had when Hillary lost. What times we live in!

-10 ( +6 / -16 )

Good luck to both of them and good and hopeful luck to a beginning of possible peace.
