Trump caves and then immediately disincetivizes the Dems to budge on the next round of negotiations by declaring he'll get his way no matter what happens.

Yet again, the "master negotiator/brilliant businessperson" creates a take it or leave it, binary choice that leaves no room for compromise. ROFL Kudos! HAR! Tee Hee. Lol. Smh. Unicornverse.

Victims of the last hurricane have an emergency situation that would be a much better place to throw 5 billion.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

Once again when Trump tries to sound credible he reminds of Maxwell Smart's 'Would you believe...'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA-UPrK_x-k , or Monty Python's Black Knight's 'Just a flesh wound', more comic buffoonery from the rotund orange clown.

But then I remember he's supposed to be a leader of 330 million people, that the nuclear briefcase follows wherever he goes (including one of his golf courses), that he's alleged to be connected to Putin, Russian oligarchs and various international criminal gangs, that he's alleged to be a gangster who threatens witnesses (Cohen?) and runs money laundering schemes, and though I still see him as a clown, I see him as an aging, overweight Chucky.

I wonder whether our resident loyal “hold the line!” Trumpsters will agree with Ann Coulter’s proclamation that their man is now the “biggest wimp ever to serve as president”.

And is the criticism from Coulter, Breitbart, Drudge, Limbaugh and Fox in Sox going to drive Trump to pull an even dumber stunt next time around?

9 ( +16 / -7 )

He dug himself into such  deep whole that eventually it caved in on him.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump's decision is best for the country. The president showed himself to be the adult in the room.

Well done.

Ignore the childish naysayers and spoiled brats.

-28 ( +9 / -37 )

Im glad those people will get paid.

As for Trump, he has no leverage in the deal and 3 weeks won't change that. Pelosi is schooling the "master negotiator."

11 ( +17 / -6 )

Trump caves all those stones falling in on him...oh my har ROLF kudos all of that jazz...

8 ( +14 / -6 )

Trump's decision is best for the country. The president showed himself to be the adult in the room.

It took him long enough to grow up.

Well done.

To Pelosi for holding the line!

Ignore the childish naysayers and spoiled brats.

Coulter, Limbaugh, Fox in Sox, et al.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

Trump's decision is best for the country.

The fact that it should never have been needed evades some.

The president showed himself to be the adult in the room.

The other adults forced him to. It won't last though.

Senate leaders don't have to "satisfy" Trump....they have to do their damn job and ensure that the American people are able to work to take care of their families. Use the veto override already and pass reasonable legislation to open the government and then construct and pass comprehensive immigration legislation that includes border security (not walls). We already have walls - do a better job of enforcement with compassion.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Wait...what are the words to that song?

'HOLD THE....'

Not sure. the bandleader has changed the tune. Trumpet's, singin' and winnin'.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Coulter called him “ the biggest wimp to serve as President “.

Ouch.

"We do not need 2,000 miles (3,200 km) of concrete wall from sea to shining sea. We never did," Trump added. "We never proposed that. We never wanted that

Donny Boy doesn't realise we live in modern times, when a politician's every word is recorded for posterity -

Dec. 2, 2015: At a rally in Virginia, a young boy asked him, "What are the walls going to be made out of?" Trump replied, "I'll tell you what it's going to be made of. It's going to be made of hardened concrete, and it's going to be made out of rebar and steel. And — you know, it's so easy, that's what I do."

Jan. 18, 2016: "They have no idea how to do it. Whereas with me it's easy — that's like easy. When you build buildings like I build buildings, believe me, walls are easy. No windows, no nothing — precast concrete going very high."

Aug. 11, 2016: "The politicians would come up to me, and they'd say, 'You know, Donald, you can't build the wall.' I said, 'You have to be kidding. You have to be kidding. Concrete plank, you have to be kidding. Precast, precast, right? Boom. Bing. Done. Keep going.' "

Good that the shutdown is over. Let's hope Donny Boy doesn't have another temper-tantrum meltdown when he doesn't get his sweeties.

Anyone who supports Pelosi and Schumer are as despic as they are.

Way to go Trump for doing what was necessary for people to be paid! Pity the Demoncrats don't give a crap about America or its people the same way Trump does.

-22 ( +3 / -25 )

Way to go Trump for doing what was necessary for people to be paid!

Reminder: TRUMP SHUT DOWN the government.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

Way to go Trump for doing what was necessary for people to be paid! Pity the Demoncrats don't give a crap about America or its people the same way Trump does.

Way to go Pelosi for standing up against the bully and forcing him to do what should never have been necessary for people to be paid. Thank god you actually give a crap about America and it's people and aren't just talk like Trump and Trumpsters are.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Way to go Trump for doing what was necessary for people to be paid!

You mean solve a problem that Cadet Bonespurs himself caused?

He tried to sell wolf tickets, but nobody bought. Now he's backed down, folded, caved, and he's got nothing.

This time, he can't even solve a problem he himself created.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

And in 3 weeks he will get the money. Dems claimed they couldn’t negotiate with a close government so now it’s open.

i don’t agree with this either because the Dems can’t be trusted. They will try to delay or deflect now then claim the need an extension.

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

This time, he can't even solve a problem he himself created.

Which is to be expected from a spoiled class boy like Trump who's always paid someone to fix the messes he himself has made.

And also to be expected when the putative 'adults' he'd hired to work in his WH resigned.

And also to be expected when he's surrounded himself with yes-people, none of whom has ever been even remotely associated with the best and the brightest. Little Stephen Miller?

And also to be expected when he takes instructions from fellow reality TV talking mouths like Hannity.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Now that dems have their excuse for doing nothing taken away, what will they do? The requirement from Trunp for the full border security money including the wall is still there. So is national emergency and another shutdown.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Good on the President, re-open the government “partially” and see if the socialist Marxist party will really keep their word and work with this President to seal our Southern border or will the President have to shut the government down again, so where will these people stand are they for the safety and protection of America and its citizens or will they turn their heads and allow for more lawlessness.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

Now that dems have their excuse for doing nothing taken away, what will they do? The requirement from Trunp for the full border security money including the wall is still there. So is national emergency and another shutdown.

Oh, most definitely.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Wait - if it is indeed a "national emergence," wouldn't any competent president treat it as such rather than be preoccupied by image? The fact is that it is not. He just kneecapped himself on that option.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

three-week stopgap

TV/Radio talking heads are part of the problem. They know exactly how to push Trump's buttons and he's too stupid to let it go.

Funny how it took impacting NYC travel to get sufficient attention. Bet Trump got a bunch of "back-channel" calls over that. In 3 weeks, NY and NYC ATC just needs to call in sick on day 2.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Good on the President, re-open the government

Weird, he didn’t take your advice and didn’t “hold the line.” Huh. I wonder if it’s because he’s a blithering idiot who has now accepted the same deal he rejected three weeks ago. A useless weakling president who says “I’ll own the shutdown, I’m proud to” and then folds breaks like a Kitkat. Kudos!

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Coulter, Breitbart, Drudge, Limbaugh weren't elected to any office.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Oh my God, what are we going to do without the wall???.... We are not protected!!!... Help!!!...

6 ( +8 / -2 )

This is just oh so sweet - and the irony of the Trumpsters here praising their Dear Leader as he gets insulted and humiliated by the far right nuts. The Great Republican Civil War just went to Level 10...

And what's so funny, tragic, and poetic is this was all driven by Coulter, Ingram, Limbaugh, et al. Donnie said he would sign the funding bill passed unanimously by the Senate in Dec - then was called out by the crazies, and without thinking of the consequences, flip-flopped and said he'd shut the government down - with no exit plan.

By listening to the crazies' advice, it led him down this death trap where he endangered our security and inflicted unnecessary pain on lots of families, and was ultimately forced to cave.

And now those same crazies who drove him down this path are calling him "the biggest President wimp ever". And expect the humiliation to get worse...

Poetic justice...

And if things couldn't get bleaker, Roger Stone was hauled off in cuffs today by the FBI...

8 ( +11 / -3 )

That cave in was so massive it measured on the Richter scale.

My American Facebook friends are marking themselves safe in the White House cave in.

please add your own below.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It's so sickening to watch these out of touch-billionaires kicking America in the guts.

They should all go to jail for malpractice.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I dont understand why the money for the wall was procured when the Republicans had control of both houses. Isn't Trump supposed to be the king deal maker? I suspect this emperor has no clothes now....

5 ( +7 / -2 )

@lincolnman "the irony of the Trumpsters"--Looking at roll call, I see a few half-hearted growls from Blacklab, and the shortest ever post from our usually wordy U.S. military journalist who is well known for constantly saluting Sgt. Surrender Spurs. Maybe a little song would help sooth things:

Roger Stone (sung to the tune of "Sam Stone" by John Prine)

Sam Stone came home

to his wife and 37 FBI

after spreading all those emails from Wikileaks...

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Trump caves right after a major airport was closed to arriving flights. Pretty much like everyone said: the shutdown will last until it seriously affects air travel.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/25/nyregion/airports-shutdown-laguardia-faa.html

3 ( +5 / -2 )

stone is the other thread. Funny no indictments saying what he actually did with Wikileaks is a crime. Total silence there. So what he did is fine, he didn’t tell the story Mueller wanted to hear.

trimp hasn’t caved he still expects the exact same thing as before he just gave them 3 weeks to sort it out to his liking.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

The lightweight caved as expected,so what was all that about then? The Mexicans were supposed to pay for it and now no-one will. If I were bored I'd read the usual suspects defense of this. But I'm not,and being in denial a la Trump is not healthy.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@black so your a legal expert now?....hasnt caved oh ok....I get it really do.....

3 ( +6 / -3 )

For those who want the direct indictment and not certain people's spin

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/25/politics/read-roger-stone-indictment-fbi/index.html

I can't help wondering if the shutdown would have been avoided if Trump had had a more well-rounded upbringing. If only his mother and father had taught him that one cannot always get everything that one wants, and that sometimes one has to accept "no" as an answer, then maybe he would not have committed the equivalent of a child holding his breath as a means to get his way. It is bad enough that the American people do not want his wall, and that he does not have the legislative support to get a wall, but the wall is a genuinely bad idea. If only he had held his breath, instead of shutting down the government.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Well we now know that Trump is a New York DEMOCRAT and all the hate aimed at him has been wasted. Hopefully, he will destroy what is left of the Republican party so that the one party USSA can concentrate on killing babies and taxing the rich.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Not a legal expert, I can read.

So how did Trump cave? What he wants hasn’t changed one bit. If in 3 weeks he gets nothing and accepts that without another shutdown or declaration of national emergency then you have something.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Trumpophiles are doing an amazing job of lying to themselves. What's it like to not exist in reality?

8 ( +10 / -2 )

stone is the other thread. Funny no indictments saying what he actually did with Wikileaks is a crime. Total silence there. So what he did is fine, he didn’t tell the story Mueller wanted to hear.

Expect more outright un-truths from the Trumpsters here as their brain can't process this bombshell...

The indictment of longtime Donald Trump associate Roger Stone offered the clearest evidence to date of the Trump campaign’s alleged attempts to cooperate with WikiLeaks during the 2016 election.

Special counsel Robert Mueller embedded the tantalizing morsel near the start of the 24-page indictment. He recounts how the Trump campaign swung into action after WikiLeaks — the activist organization suspected of cozying up to Kremlin-backed hackers — started releasing stolen Democratic emails in late July 2016, just days before Hillary Clinton accept her party’s nomination.

In one paragraph, Mueller alleges that an unnamed individual gave instructions to a senior unnamed Trump campaign official to get in touch with Stone “about any additional releases and what other damaging information” WikiLeaks was holding about Clinton’s campaign.

Democratic lawmakers and legal experts tracking the Russia probe singled out those details — which suggest the Trump campaign willingly engaged with a foreign entity seeking to meddle in the presidential election.

Trump is brilliant. This puts it all back in Chuck and Nancy’s laps. If they don’t give him border wall money in three weeks, they will be seen as the ones who did nothing.

Plus he gets to give his SOTU in the House chambers. It's going to be sweet with Nancy's dour face right behind him.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

So how did Trump cave? What he wants hasn’t changed one bit. If in 3 weeks he gets nothing and accepts that without another shutdown or declaration of national emergency then you have something.

So why are your far right buddies saying this?

"Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States," tweeted conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

"Nancy Pelosi is alpha," tweeted conservative film maker Mike Cernovich.

Right wing commentator Michael Malice opined: "Apparently a wall isn't as good as a cave."

Trump caved with "NO WALL."

So who's right - Trump or the folks above?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump is brilliant.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump is, those comments are premature. But if he gets nothing in 3 weeks and does nothing about it, then those people are right.

Chuck and Nancy better get to work.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

see if the socialist Marxist party will really keep their word and work with this President to seal our Southern border or will the President have to shut the government down again,

The art of the deal = shutting down the government when one doesn't get one's way.

Holding the line = reopening the government when one doesn't get one's way.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Weakest president ever. What a rube.

The problem with Trump is that you can only count on what he said, until he has spoken to someone else. That's how he started this whole debacle. He made an agreement, then 'talked' (well 'listened') to Ann Coulter and the the other worthless pundits, then put out this ultimatum that it was a wall or no deal.

And now his peons are claiming he did a good job by going back on his ultimatum.

Those people are are the dumbest, literally the lowest intelligent samples of humanity. If he had not created the ultimatum, there wouldn't have been a problem that needed fixing. So trying to praise him for fixing that thing he broke is... in pure Trump supporter fashion. They did the same moronic thing when he calmed down the tensions he created with North Korea.

These people are SOOOOO stupid, that they lack the intelligence to realize we aren't as stupid as them. In other words, they are too stupid to even know they are stupid.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Trump just said, shutdown again on feb 15 or national emergency. Nothing changed and now Dems have to negotiate in good faith.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Trump is brilliant. This puts it all back in Chuck and Nancy’s laps. If they don’t give him border wall money in three weeks, they will be seen as the ones who did nothing.

Um, they were already in that supposed situation. What has deluded you into thinking that it will be any different in February? The people still won't want the wall, and Trump will look bad for shutting down the government again. Trump didn't do anything brilliant, in fact, according to the person who actually holds his reigns, he's a 'wimp' for folding.

She finally figured out what the rest of us already knew.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Trump must have been REALLY desperate to get back on the golf course to embarrass himself so badly.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Trump just said, shutdown again on feb 15 or national emergency. Nothing changed and now Dems have to negotiate in good faith.

Um, they were already in that supposed situation. What has deluded you into thinking that it will be any different in February? The people still won't want the wall, and Trump will look bad for shutting down the government again.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Overall, only 4 in 10 registered voters want a wall. I only worried what type of message a wall would send to Mexico our ally and friends. Democrats and Republicans and Independents. All in government agree on many immigration reforms that amount to an alternative strategy. Bipartisan majorities favor current proposals in Congress that aim to prevent the hiring of undocumented workers. Trump will declare National emergency powers up. You'll see. It's coming. Many are talking about a hole Trump dug himself in. But history will not favor Pelosi. She dug herself a nice little hole too. I wonder if the Dems have thought about the long game here at play? I do not think they have. Yes, a victory for the Dems no doubt. But at what cost?  Pelosi’s plan was to win over more Republicans in the House and raise pressure in the Senate. It seems to have worked. When the Presidential election comes around again. I think this shutdown will be a meaningful topic that will stumped upon. The longest shut down in history. I think the Democrats and the President both came off so petty. A low we have not seen in a longtime or if ever. If there was ever a time for a fresh new Presidential candidate to step up and start hammering away on this negativity of this shutdown. Chuck, Nancy, Trump. All of it.The whole shabang. The time is now. This is what I mean if Dems have given though about the long game here. Dems had a chance to really stick it to Trump and come out looking clean. But they didn’t. It reminds me of that video of Eric Holder. When Holder said. “When they go low, we kick 'em. That’s what this new Democratic Party is about." It seems so. The level of dysfunction in my government is at an all-time high. This would have never happened if Cruz had been elected. I often speak with my Republican friends. I try to explain that electing a Non-professional politician like Trump was a huge mistake. I firmly believe that this President continues to show me how unqualified he is in politics and making sound decisions that are for the good of the American people. I really hope POTUS Trump does not use that emergency option pull card. Yes, he can do it. But if he does. The blow back will be huge. Let's get back to making some reforms that are going to work. Let's try to get Mexico in the conversation. This issue and problem starts in Mexico. What can our good friends across border offer up? We need good common sense and effective ideas. Not a dysfunctional government wanting to place blame here and there. The finger pointing, the bickering. All of it needs to stop.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Trump just said, shutdown again on feb 15 or national emergency. Nothing changed and now Dems have to negotiate in good faith.

Well, we'll really find out if Trump is as stupid and we think he is if he follows the far right wing nuts again, and shuts down the government for nothing.

Now that its back open, expect to hear how the shutdown endangered our security and how it negatively impacted our economy.

Again, if you think Donnie is that stupid to do this all over again, then we'll really know he has "the understanding of a fifth grader..."

3 ( +5 / -2 )

This puts the final nail in the Trump coffin. He's lost the respect of the pundits that have the ears of the morons. Now he's going to have the people who were his strongest propaganda pushers working against him, since he's a "wimp".

This is what happens with weak leaders. They agree with everyone in each conversation they have, which works until their agreements start to collide with each other, and being weak, they don't know how to fix the problem. A strong leader would never have put out an ultimatum unless they already knew the other side would have to give in to it. Trump put out an ultimatum which the other team had zero incentive to respond to, which led to him fighting a battle he couldn't win, and taking the hit politically.

A real leader would never let themselves be painted into a corner like that. It was a rookie mistake that only a pathetic leader would put themselves in.

'Patethetic.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

See what happens by Feb 15. Dems have work to do. The time of “no” is over. I see a “barrier” in our near future.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Dems said open the government so they can negotiate. Are they lying to the American people and won’t negotiate?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

A judge will black anything that Trump tries to do. He has no emergency powers or any other. he hasn't done anything other than argue with Jim Acosta for 2 years. Americans got a TEMPORARY tax break, NATO is still there, soldiers are still in Syria, there is NO WALL. He is powerless to do anything, but argue with the media.

Watch he will forgive the DACA kids and give every illegal citizenship in exchange for some money that he wont be able to spend on fencing, wall or any kind of barrier.

He should resign. Trump is a phony and a fraud. Trump and Limbaugh should join Jesse Ventura and chase golf balls and UFOS in the Mexican desert.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Trump caved bigly. Huge disappointment. Giving in to Pelosi guarantees that she will definitely not fold after another 3 weeks. Trump won't get border security unless he has the military build it. Should go ahead and announce that now instead of waiting to get rolled again by the open borders party again next week. Then he will have to fight off the lawsuits and the injunctions from the Obama judges.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

21 days. Let’s see what happens.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

All Trump did was buy himself 3 more weeks to try to figure a way out of this. It’s a Hail Mary at this point.

He can’t get the wall, and he can’t not have it. Check mate at his own hands.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Nothing will happen. All Trump does is make BIG statements that he doesn't back up. He is going to cut off their health care, make Mexico pay for the wall, stop all foreign aid, end NATO, reduce SNAP payments. he signed a farm bill that INCREASED SNAP. He signs EVERYTHING that lands on his desk. He doesn't and wont veto anything.

He is powerless. Any one of a thousand unelected judges can determine what the country can and can't do. America doesn't even need a president.

Trump is a phony , but entertaining loud mouth.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

So how did Chump cave? What he wants hasn’t changed one bit. If in 3 weeks he gets nothing and accepts that without another shutdown or declaration of national emergency then you have something.

Well he stated that THIS shutdown will not end until he gets his funding for the wall, even if the shutdown lasts for a year. Clearly he could not stand by that statement and he caved by reopening the government even for a short time, without funding for his wall.

The Government will most likely close down again in three weeks and chump will learn another lesson that his opinion is not the most important one in America as he thinks it is.

The wall will not happen. Not today, not next week and not even next year. Nor should it as it is not the way to secure your border unless your in the stone age when walls were invented. There are more modern ways to secure a border without the eye sore of a physical wall stretching across the horizon, even a beautifully built wall.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Dems said open the government so they can negotiate. Are they lying to the American people and won’t negotiate?

This is great question.

Are they lying? Of course, they are. Are they telling the truth? Of course, they are to an extent. I wish the current political agenda for the Democrats was this simple. There is no black and white in today’s political environment. There is allot of truth in the above comment by Blacklable. However, I would think that there are Democrats that are some true Patriots with the best of intentions for the America people and not interested in undermining Trumps Presidency on daily basis. But take to the thought Trump re-opened the government could be a gesture of good faith. That Dems should take the position of. Well he was elected. It is what is. So, we might as a party try to get some good things done with this President. I know what some of you are thinking. No way. No wat can we work with the orange man. I am too much of an optimist, I guess. But Trump had to reopen government. Plain and simple. There really was no other choice. It was becoming dangerous. We should all be thankful Trump caved if you want to call it that. The real winner here is that for the moment the powers at be are back to work with sword and shield keeping the American people safe. We should all be thankful nothing serious happened like a major terrorist attack.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Good on the President

Have you put “Hold the line” into storage?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

21 days. Let’s see what happens.

Nothing will happen. Nothing will change. Trump was just trying to save face and not look like a "wimp" (which he obviously failed, according to his mistress).

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Amazing how no matter what Trump does, the anti-Trumpers condemn him. If he refuses to a deal to open the gov't without wall funding he's evil. He agrees to open the gov't for 3 weeks and he "caves" and is toast. LOL.

Make no mistake. Trump is being strategic with this move. He won't cave on the wall.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Nice speculation. Can’t even wait 21 days to find out.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Liberals now: he caved and won’t do anything!

Liberals in 21 days: he can’t do that! Lawsuit!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Nice speculation.

Mr. "I know what's happening in the Mueller investigation" is whining about speculation. Classic.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Liberals in 21 days: he can’t do that! Lawsuit!

Probably!

I think we can rest assured that Trump's wall will never happen now. A lawsuit would keep it tied up in the courts until the next presidency, and the next Democratic president would cancel it.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Amazing how no matter what Trump does, the anti-Trumpers condemn him. If he refuses to a deal to open the gov't without wall funding he's evil.

Amazing how you are writhing around to make this look like some sort of genius 4-D chess move from your captain. He wanted 5.7 billion, he got zero. Add to that his core bootlickers insult him, and his own party shake their heads in embarrassment. Winning is indeed tiring. Oh my!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

If he refuses to a deal to open the gov't without wall funding he's evil. He agrees to open the gov't for 3 weeks and he "caves" and is toast. LOL.

Correct! He's either a moron for wanting a boondoggle, or he's weak for not forcing that boondoggle. Either way, he's weak for letting himself end up in a position where he looks bad no matter what he does.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Sneezy.

Do not believe for a moment there were satellites every time in the launches you stated. They were long range intercontinental missile tests aimed at hitting the United States West coast with loaded war head.

Obama was a bit lethargic when it came to the DPRK.

He could have done more! But instead we sent Rodman.

The only one proven DPRK satellite confirmed in Earth’s orbit was the Kwangmyongsong-5 satellite that my government got eyes one.

Thanks to Nasa.

I apologize in advance for going off topic.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

OK Democrats. The ball is in your court. Don't fumble.... America is watching.

I won't be surprised if they continue to be so dumb as to refuse to fund the wall and he has to declare a national emergency, which it is. The Democrats should be sued for endangering the safety of the American people.

All the anti-Trumpers celebrating too early here is a riot, it should be added to a "Celebrating too early" Youtube video, hehe

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Amazing how you are writhing around to make this look like some sort of genius 4-D chess move from your captain. He wanted 5.7 billion, he got zero...

Trump doing the “rope-a-dope” to get the knock out in 3 weeks. THE CHAMP IS HERE!

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

It's hilarious how the anti-Trumpers say "he's so dumb!!" Whether you like him or not, he's certainly not dumb. He didn't get where he's at by being dumb. And if he's dumb, then all the Democrats and Republicans he's played must be braindead.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

It's hilarious how the anti-Trumpers say "he's so dumb!!"

Not just the anti-Trumpers. People who’ve worked with him in government have used the words “idiot” and “moron” to describe him.

Ann Coulter, the writer of ‘In Trump we trust’, called him ‘shallow’, ‘lazy’ and an ‘ignoramus’.

Attacks on his mental capacities have hit him from both sides.

I don’t think he’s stupid, but listening to him speak tells me he is shockingly ignorant on matters of vital importance but is pretty good at deflecting, trolling on Twitter and insulting people.

His supporters seem to like his skill set and don’t care about the appalling gibberish he spouts when cornered on a substantive issue.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Pelosi 2, Trump 0. So much winning...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

This is just oh so sweet - and the irony of the Trumpsters here praising their Dear Leader as he gets insulted and humiliated by the far right nuts. The Great Republican Civil War just went to Level 10...

What? Wait until the Democrat starts....actually it already did stay tuned....

The wall was something that Trump advocated back in the early 90’s we all did and the President is lucky that he has some of the most powerful conservative author and talk show host for personal advice, Obama had it in Sharpton and Imellt so it’s ok.

And now those same crazies who drove him down this path are calling him "the biggest President wimp ever". And expect the humiliation to get worse...

Poetic justice...

And if things couldn't get bleaker, Roger Stone was hauled off in cuffs today by the FBI...

Poetic Justice? ROFL.....No Russian collusion, yeah...we are once again talking about another witch hunt. Now of course it’s a process crime if he (Stone) lied, but other than that, another Mueller symbolic move.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

No, he isn't dumb at all. He is on the same side as Pelosi. The dumb people are those that hate him and believed that he wasn't an establishment drone.

The dumb people thought that an outsider could actually change government. And look at how upset that got about it !! People get hysterical over a red hat that is nothing but a red herring. Trump is the same as Reid, Obama, Hillary, Mueller. he is on their side and he fooled everyone in the country. He fooled those who liked him and those who hated him, but were too dumb to realize that he was a fake.

Trump is a tool. He is just setting the stage for Michelle Obama to become president in 2020. He built himself up and just when everyone thought he would actually do something he folded. He betrayed his base and showed the republican party to be powerless. Michelle can be elected and transition America to a 1 party system. Trump has destroyed all the resistance. The only problem is the idiots who hate him so much that they cant see what he has done to help create a 1 party system. He is really a hero for putting on such a remarkable performance and decimating the Republican party.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

All Trump did was buy himself 3 more weeks to try to figure a way out of this. It’s a Hail Mary at this point.

And that’s ok, it’s also a brilliant a strategic move to put the Democrats on notice. Let’s see if they can keep their word or are they just the typical party they have always been, the party of unicorns and hot air.

He can’t get the wall, and he can’t not have it. Check mate at his own hands.

And that’s why he has the power as President to call for national emergency to get what he wants. Check mate!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

And that’s ok, it’s also a brilliant a strategic move to put the Democrats on notice

What happened to “Hold the line”? You’ve been repeating that for a long time.

Is that the wrong approach now? When did it become the wrong approach? What changed to make it become the wrong approach?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

What happened to “Hold the line”?

Nothing. He is holding the line 2/15 and then we move forward.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Yahoo.

Ford O'Connell, a Republican strategist who is in regular contact with the White House, said Trump will be able to push for wall funding over the next three weeks without the distraction of a shutdown and that his supporters should wait to judge his efforts.

Trump also signaled on Friday that if he doesn't get the result he wants, he may yet declare a national emergency and re-route federal monies to build the wall on his own.

"He might take a short-term hit but overall in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal as long as he is ultimately seen as committed to border security,"

Mark my words. it may not be right. Trump will have his wall in the end. It can not be stopped.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

OK Democrats. The ball is in your court. Don't fumble.... America is watching.

It's not really.

When it comes down to it, it's the same positions as before the shut down. Trump promised Mexico would pay for a wall. He got elected on that promise. Then he pulled out the rug and said America needs to pay for it. The people don't want that. Trump does. The only card he has to play is to shut down the government again in three weeks by putting down another ultimatum - which as we saw didn't work well for him. People who dislike both parties suddenly started disliking Trump and the Republicans a lot more, and the numbers shifted in a direction that didn't work well for him.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Victims of the last hurricane have an emergency situation that would be a much better place to throw 5 billion.

Trump would rather THROW PAPER TOWELS before he throws a billion!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

It's hilarious how the anti-Trumpers say "he's so dumb!!"

He's not dumb. He's very apt on a social level, and in a top-down environment like a company, he's probably quite effective at the top.

But it's been very clear since the start that he was not qualified to be president, and nothing he has done since becoming president (or even before that, as the Mueller indictments keep showing) has shown any differently. He's been entirely inept as a president, making mistakes that any decent leader would know to be in extremely poor judgement. Things like making ultimatums, without having the backing of the people. He got stuck in his own ego, and thought his base was enough to protect him, without realizing that when you shutdown the government, all of a sudden the people who previously were staying out of the fray, are registering their dissatisfaction.

What does 'dumb' even mean? There are different types of intelligence. If there is such a thing as 'presidential intelligence', referring to the intelligence required to be a good president, you could definitely say that he registers somewhere very, very low on that scale, definitely enough to say 'dumb'. If there is a such thing as 'sneakiness intelligence', referring to the intelligence to be deceptive enough to win against someone through backhanded means, you could definitely say that he is very high on that scale, definitely enough to say a genius.

Ah, the "master negotiator" and "stable Genius" has caved and gotten EXACTLY what he could have gotten a month ago... in fact, he actually gave up more. His popularity has tanked during shutdown, and now his left-over base is chiding him for giving in and getting Nothing. He is going to be goign absolutely ballistic on Twitter over his own failures and the 100% negative media coverage even of Fox and his ultra-right base. Limbaugh and Coultour certainly aren't going to congratulate him on this, and that's all he cares about.

Yeah, bass... holding a line attached to the Titanic.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Mark my words. it may not be right. Trump will have his wall in the end. It can not be stopped.

I don't see him playing the national emergency card. It would open up the Democrats to doing it for healthcare, gun control, and/or whatever. The Republicans will be too worried about the damage it could bring. While they support Trump out of fear someone who does will replace them, those who are truly in power, the Qanon Deep State, won't be willing to take that long term hit. That's when pressure gets turned on behind the scenes. Like withdrawal from Syria - notice how silent Trump became on that issue, when four Americans were killed by the supposedly defeated ISIS AFTER Trump's pronouncement.

For the anti-Trumpers here is some history. The greatest general in modern times Field Marshal Eric Von Manstein would retreat his forces on the eastern front allowing the Russians to think the German Army was weak. Then Manstein laid a trap for them, decimating the Russian offensive. Don’t think Trump is stupid.

Can you believe this? A Trumper citing "Generals" when the three Generals that were part of his senior staff all left because they thought he was an "idiot", "moron" and "had the understanding of a fifth grader."

Ask McMaster, Kelly and Mattis if they think Trump is stupid...

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Good on the President, re-open the government “partially”

You weren't saying this yesterday. I believe you were encouraging Trump to hold the line. How quickly you do 180s is impressive.

and see if the socialist Marxist party

This party doesn't exist in the US.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

it is quite an enjoyment to read comments from strangerland, straight to the point.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I am happy to see that the shutdown has ended. Too many people were hurting from this ridiculous ordeal. This will also be a huge hit for Trump with his supporters.

While even his supporters hated the shutdown, it was still easy to respect someone that stood by his word and wouldn't budge, so you hated him but had to respect him. After all the talk and the brovado, to see him fold like this even if its for three weeks and they clearly stated no wall, then it makes him lose respect because we suffered and went through his show for absolutely no reason at all. Waste of time.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

And the cracks start to appear - right here on JT - several Trump supporters accusing him of destroying the Republican party, he caved, he's for amnesty...

It's being mirrored, unsurprisingly, on Fox News - the Great Republican Civil War at Level 10...soon to move to 11...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Poetic Justice - the far right drive him down a one-way street ensuring he had to cave, then when he caved, they ridicule and humiliate him...

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

What anti-Trumpers STILL don't realize is that Trump is playing chess while the Democrats are STILL playing checkers and it will be checkmate in the time leading up to the closure of the 3 week window. The wall is coming - MAGA baby! Breaking out the popcorn!

Ask McMaster, Kelly and Mattis if they think Trump is stupid...

OK, you do that, lincoln. Get their verifiable answers and give them to us. Can't wait!

Seriously, Abe Lincoln would be rolling in his grave.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

You weren't saying this yesterday. I believe you were encouraging Trump to hold the line. How quickly you do 180s is impressive.

I never changed my position. Hey, Chip....Nothings changed, just give the Democrats an opportunity to prove Trump wrong, that way, you guys and try and rip on him or his supporters by boasting at how Democrats keep their promise, although, I really don’t believe by 2/15 that will happen, “I could be wrong, I could right.”

This party doesn't exist in the US.

It exists as much as racists and Nazi exists in the Republican Party.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Is anyone else noticing the only defense our righties have of Trump is about how awesome they think he is, and the awesome things they think he's going to do, and how strategically genius he is, without actually stating what he did that is so awesome, or showing any actual strategically genius moves?

How's the economy doing, Stranger? How about that peace on the Korean peninsula? How about ISIS being decimated? All this in 2 years with all the Democrats, a lot of Republicans and most of the media against him. Oh my...

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

@Strangerland.

But it's drafted already according to some sources. I think Trump does not take loss well. I think he is unqualified and always have been. Because he governs from the cuff. He is too emotional and cannot handle loss. When Chuck makes statements like. I hope the President learned his lesson. Which he said. He is basically pouring gas on the fire.

No Strangerland. I have seen to much of Trump making impulsive decisions. He will use this power. Because in his mind. He believes the wall is the only solution. Why? Because that is how a builder and real-estate tycoon thinks. In structures. It’s not complicated to see Trumps next move. All you have to do is go back and see his decision-making patterns from the past. Trump is President not for the good of the people. Trump is president because he listened to Manaforts, The Gates, and the GOP motivated him. Then he commited in Trump fashion.

Trumps Ego cannot handle loss. And the GOP is banking on this. He will shut it down again. And even longer this time allowing Democrats to think they have gained some leverage, or he will use the powers of the Oval office to declare the Southern border a National emergency. People say Trump is dumb. He is not. He is emotionally charged. Making him smart and dangerous.

Trump should have never run. He should have wielded his checkbook backing candidates he liked.

However. I will say this. Trump loves America. I do not doubt that. He is not as sinister and stupid as people make him out to be. He maybe too trusting as well.

Well will see when February 15th rolls around won't we.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

@Serrano

I don't believe anyone thinks Trump is stupid. Trump clearly isn't a politician and he clearly has no interest in politics. Trump is smart. You do not become a billionaire by being stupid. Furthermore, you do not gain go through multiple bankruptcies, lose people's money, and still regain their trust by being stupid. The issue with TrumpOnomics is that it is wholly self servant. Trump is a masterful salesman. That is what his election campaign was and that is what his presidency is.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Peace on the Korean penninsula had absolutely nothing to do with America. The "war" against ISIS was not fought in two years but has spanned almost two decades. Every politician is aware that the current state of the economy has very little to do with a current president. It is that way because of the momentum and moves put in place by previous seat holders.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Well STONE was arrested yesterday...hopefully more arrests will could...

Re-opening the government for three weeks could be a distraction from yet another Trump associate being arrested.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

What anti-Trumpers STILL don't realize is that Trump is playing chess while the Democrats are STILL playing checkers

Ironically, this is actually a good analogy. Trump's playing his own game, that he made up, that no one else is playing, while the other team is playing the actual game.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

...it will be checkmate in the time leading up to the closure of the 3 week window.

Serrano - uh, no. Trump will NOT get his wall. He would have done better if he hadn't turned the issue into something so symbolic of revulsion against both his persona and policies, but, inept negotiator that he is, he did, and the cat is now out of the bag. Likely, even a "grand bargain" covering all 11 million undocumented people living in the US would not be enough now.

Trump bit off more than he could chew, faced off against a superior opponent (Pelosi) to support a broadly unpopular project, bungled badly, and lost completely. Trump is now toast.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Pity Trump doesn’t have the option of declaring Bankruptcy, that was always his wildcard.

He can’t declare moral bankruptcy, he never had any...

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Yeah, bass... holding a line attached to the Titanic

.....with the anchor firmly inside the Democrat tug boat.

How? I guess you didn't read the article. Do you agree with your icon Coulter? Is Trump the "biggest WIMP President ever"?

How? That’s easy! I agree like with Maxine Waters, Ann will talk your ear off. Just because she criticizes the President doesn’t mean anything. I can’t think of anyone she hasn’t insulted at one time or another. Wake me up when you really have something, this is not one of them.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Ask McMaster, Kelly and Mattis if they think Trump is stupid...

we all know what Tillerson said or allegedly said is a more appropriate when talking about trump.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

uh, no. Trump will NOT get his wall.

Neither will the Democrats, they won’t get anything either except a smiling McConnell.

That would have been absolutely stupid, not to mention committing political suicidal, it’s like telling Democrats to give up socialism and entitlements and them telling their base, NO MORE free stuff, you need to work and become self-reliant. Just won’t happen.

Trump bit off more than he could chew, faced off against a superior opponent (Pelosi) to support a broadly unpopular project, bungled badly, and lost completely. Trump is now toast.

I would call Nancy inferior, lackluster, but if the women were so great, she could have gotten DACA through, some of their socialist agenda passed and made Trump completely give up the wall, that hasn’t happened, now in the long lies of the media, they all dance like munchkins singing we got him when the Democrats didn’t get anything, a ceasefire is a wise and noble thing, givr your enemy one last chance before bring in the big guns.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@Laguna,

Oh, that's rich.

Nacy Pelosi is extremely evil, she comes from the Baltimore Democratic corruption machine the D'Alesendaro family both her Father Tom D'Alesendaro and her brother Tommy D'Alesendaro were mayors of Baltimore a well-oiled corrupt Democratic family.

Ronald Regan 40th President of United States.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi speaking about the DREAMers after being elected Speaker of the House and quoted former President Ronald Reagan. She then called out GOP lawmakers for not applauding the sentiment.

Pathetic. Nancy Pelosi is a disrupter to progress.

Regan is turning in his grave!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I’m looking forward to hearing from liberals in 20 days “it’s not a wall, it’s a barrier-totally different thing”.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

mitch is smiling now because the Russians bought and paid for him, his wife bankrolled his rise to power in the repugnant party, but he won’t be smiling if subpoenas start flying and more investigations start to unfold.

Negotiation is discussion. What you're speaking of is capitulation.

See my very first comment on this thread and you may understand how Trump created a situation that does not encourage negotiations. The responsibility for this shutdown and the next rests with Dumpster Donny no matter how much Trumpophiles whine and screech otherwise.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

So all “barriers” to negotiation have now been removed. Government is open. SOTU can be held, Ginsburg can attend, kids from the fake news can come to White House, everyone gets pay and back pay. All is well.

So now we can have negotiations about barriers. Or are you going to make up another excuse now that you lost your only one?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Dump asked for 5 billion, but the shutdown cost 6 billion! Financially, that is a verified lost!

LOL! Worst President Ever! Even Worst Business Man!

We shall see. 2/15 deadline was it?

Hopefully the cream will rise to the top.

What? Hillary? We have been waiting for Trump to sick his dogs on Hillary for how many years? Trump is a joke and Ann Coulter confirms this.

Until he starts serving justice to your side. And if he never does everyone will just finally see it all for what it really was. No one side is serving justice to the other side. Mueller is just doing his job exceptionally well.

It just so happens that one side chooses to continually break the law to win elections. Dump is the epitome of the criminals on one political side.

Fun fact: All of the mass killings in America last year were down by conservative Christian extremists who are also Dump supporters.

Yahoo news? Seriously? Might as well quote Buzzfeed at least they have some interesting food stories.

Trump has already scuttled any future negotiations.

Doubt it. 2/15 after that, declaration filing for a National emergency then it won’t matter anymore and if I were MConnell after, I would keep throwing those Democrats legislations in his drawer. Just to push their buttons and there won’t be a thing they can do about it.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

declaration filing for a National emergency then it won’t matter anymore

It still has to go through the courts and it will fail. As Ann Coulter says Trump is a 100% failure. He backed down. He is a wimp and now all those Mexicans will come running across the border.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

declaration filing for a National emergency

Good luck making a persuasive case for that. The rate of undocumented migrants crossing the border has been decreasing dramatically year on year. The peak was in 2000 (1.65 million). Less than 400,000 last year. That's a national emergency? For a wall that will take 10 years to build?

Plus, as Trump stated just a month ago, "Our Southern Border is now Secure".

if I were MConnell after, I would keep throwing those Democrats legislations in his drawer. Just to push their buttons and there won’t be a thing they can do about it.

What a constructive solution!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Pelosi ‘ walled’ Trump.

Walled : to use someone’ Ego to trap them in a position they cannot come out of.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

* he has the power as President to call for national emergency to get what he wants. *

No, as President he has the power to call a national emergency *to deal with a national emergency***.** Not to get what he wants, like a toddler screaming for sweeties in the supermarket and threatening to hold his breath until he gets them.

By kicking the can three weeks down the line, Trump has effectively admitted that there is no 'national emergency' at the southern border. If he tries to go down that path now, surely the legal ramifications will blow him out of the water.

If he nevertheless continues to insist that there is an emergency, he lays himself open to the charge of not acting for 8 whole weeks in the face of a national emergency. By definition, emergencies need to be acted on NOW, surely?

So, by Donny Boy's own words and actions, either there is an emergency and he failed to deal with it, or there is no emergency and he's blatantly and illegally trying to exceed his presidential powers.

Either way, someone needs to stick a fork in him and coat him in ketchup, he's well done.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

No worries Trump supporters. If Congress finally does work out another compromise border security legislation, even if it doesn’t mandate “a 30 foot great Trump wall uninterrupted from sea to sea (which was going to be paid by Mexico)”, Trump will claim the fig leaf victory in the way he always does. And you’ll buy it as you always do.

Unless of course Coulter/Hannity tell him otherwise.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Do you agree with your icon Coulter? Is Trump the "biggest WIMP President ever"?

How? That’s easy! I agree like with Maxine Waters, Ann will talk your ear off. Just because she criticizes the President doesn’t mean anything. I can’t think of anyone she hasn’t insulted at one time or another. Wake me up when you really have something, this is not one of them.

Notice a pattern here? Ask a question of a Trumper who is right, Trump (Jeb or Wimp) or Coulter - and you get a clear dodge like this or just silence...

Come on Trumpers, show us you have some guts - which one of your conservative icons is right here - is it Trump or is it Coulter?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I already told you and was very clear. Coulter was right that he shouldn’t reopen the government. She is not right that he is the biggest wimp ever because in 21 days he said he either has “barrier funding” or declares a national emergency.

If he doesn’t have either of those done in 21 days and does nothing, then Coulter is right.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

cleo : Either way, someone needs to stick a fork in him and coat him in ketchup, he's well done

Ketchup, cleo? Seriously? Have you never heard of mustard? lol

Oh, by the way, Trump is not only not well done, he's just getting started.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Coulter was right that he shouldn’t reopen the government.

That's right and Trump is a very bad bad president for not listening to Coulter.

She is not right that he is the biggest wimp

WRONG!!

Proof:

Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as president of the United States.” — Ann Coulter, the outspoken conservative commentator, in a tweet

(news quote and proof that Trump is the biggest wimp- caved to the Dems)

declares a national emergency.

which will fail because Trump always fails

Coulter is right

Yes

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I already told you and was very clear. Coulter was right that he shouldn’t reopen the government. She is not right that he is the biggest wimp ever because in 21 days he said he either has “barrier funding” or declares a national emergency.

Wait a minute, wait a minute - how can she be right and wrong? She said he was a WIMP because he caved on the deal TODAY. So if you agree Trump was wrong in opening up government, you by default think he's a WIMP. Glad the light bulb has come on for you.

If he doesn’t have either of those done in 21 days and does nothing, then Coulter is right.

In the statement above you say "Coulter was right" - then in the second statement you say she isn't right for another 21 days.

We understand, all the devastating bad news makes the brain work a little slower...

Any other Trumpers out there want to give it a crack?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

he's just getting started

He's going backwards. Caved to the Libs and is not listening to Ann Coulter. He has FAILED

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Interesting mental gymnastics going on here, trying to explain how Trump is right, Coulter is right, and the left is wrong.

Give a man enough rope...

3 ( +6 / -3 )

He's going backwards. Caved to the Libs and is not listening to Ann Coulter. He has FAILED

Absolutely true.

Trump has failed many times in the past two years - many times - but this has to be his biggest failure.

Just think of he would have signed the funding bill in Dec, and told Ingram, Limbaugh, etc., "I'll fight for the wall" - and the government stayed open. He would have had some short term pain from those folks, but he wouldn't be tagged with owning the longest and worst government shutdown in history; one that endangered our security, brought financial pain to many families, and had a negative impact on the economy.

Even more worse, the right wingers still turned on him - it's conservative "icon" against conservative "icon" - and one called the other "the biggest WIMP President ever" - wow, what a dig.... They don't care about a 15 day period - "Jeb" caved today! He's a "WIMP"... a "Loser"...

Donnie followed Ingram and Limbaugh's advice and they led him right down a hole, and then when he had to dig himself out, they heap on more humiliation.

And if anyone thinks Trump will shutdown the government again in 15 days, they're on drugs - McConnell will tell him "No - we won't put the country through that again and take even more scorn and blame."

Same for the national emergency - want to give that power to the next Democratic President? The next mass shooting with an assault weapon and those all get banned...

This whole shutdown was a fiasco for Trump and the Republicans.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Oh, by the way, Trump is not only not well done

Given as orange as he is, and as much time he spends in a tanning bed, I'd say he was overly done...

he's just getting started.

Getting started on his way to impeachment...between Cohen and Stone, we'll know every dirty deal Donnie has pulled for the last 40 years.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Hopefully the cream will rise to the top.

Unfortunaeyly there is no cream in a swamp only decaying biological matter.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

nishikat: Trump always fails

He didn't fail to create over 4 million manufacturing jobs, lower black and hispanic unemployment to record lows and cancel Nancy's taxpayer funded Europe excursion. hehehe

Stranger: Give a man enough rope...

Yeah, Trump's giving the Dems enough rope to hang themselves.

lincoln: Getting started on his way to impeachment...

Oh, come now, lincoln, you know it takes two thirds of the Senate to impeach a president. Ain't gonna happen.

...between Cohen and Stone, we'll know every dirty deal Donnie has pulled for the last 40 years.

Stone's going to be the latest and hopefully last nothing burger served with chips and Pepsi.

My hyperbole is a direct result of the hyperbole flung about by conservatives.

But the über-hyperbole from liberals is just dandy, right?

But anyone with eyes knows the mods are pro Republican with their moderating. It was outrageous watching the unsubtle insults/ethnic slurs directed at Obama unashamedly by the now same people defending Trump like they owe him money. The haste of deletions concerning criticism of Trump is a joke.

A Hollywood actress recently said MAGA is the new white hood. And you know what? She's right. Congratulations. You played yourself.

That is just so outlandish, ok, so what about these people, are they cruel white racists?

https://twitter.com/KayaJones/status/1087461170435538950?s=20

No one hurled slurs at Obama the way they do Trump. We don’t care if people insult Trump, we’re not liberals, we have thicker skins, however it just brings the decorum down to elementary school level. It’s things like this that make liberals seem irrational loose canons. Imagine if Conservatives attacked a liberal for wearing a #metoo or liberal for just being a liberal. There is nothing wrong with that hat, no one is being lynched, tortured or murdered, it’s an idea, I wear one, I’m not racist, so what? Hollywood and all the other celebrity moonbats really need to stay out of everyone’s lives and try to make better movies, so our money is actually not being wasted on their public personal struggles, I don’t care.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Notice a pattern here? Ask a question of a Trumper who is right, Trump (Jeb or Wimp) or Coulter - and you get a clear dodge like this or just silence...

No, just saying, it’s not a bad thing. Ann says what she says, it’s a word and we haven’t seen a tweet from the President, so I’m assuming he’s not at all angry, no reason to be, she can say what she wants and liberals can’t say anything either when Trump calls people names, right?

Come on Trumpers, show us you have some guts - which one of your conservative icons is right here - is it Trump or is it Coulter?

I think you respect Ann more than you’re letting on, you talk non-stop about her, but she is a cool lady though granted.

No one hurled slurs at Obama the way they do Trump

So true, its not like Donny ever questioned Obama's birth certificate.

We don’t care if people insult Trump, we’re not liberals, we have thicker skins,

Obviously you do care, or you wouldnt be whining about it.

however it just brings the decorum down to elementary school level.

Lol You support a guy who starred in a reality TV series, and made a cameo on WWE. Clearly you don't care about things like decorum or class. Certainly after that tape came out.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

If the Democrats don't get with the program in 3 weeks, I don't think we will hear much about caving when the government shuts down and a national emergency is declared.

3 weeks until another shutdown.

9 weeks until another Trump climb down.

All this shutdown has shown is that he is ultimately a weak coward.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

If Trump were the weak one, then why is it the Democrats can’t get anything past the Senate, Probably their communicative skills are a bit......rusty.....non-existent...

I know Mitch must be laughing.....weak....sure...lol

Obviously you do care, or you wouldnt be whining about it.

Sorry, I’m not, I’m just making a statement just like you, sir.

Lol You support a guy who starred in a reality TV series, and made a cameo on WWE. Clearly you don't care about things like decorum or class. Certainly after that tape came out

Better than supporting a criminal that hides HD servers in restaurants or a sleepyheaded Washington establishment Republican. I’ll glady take the celebrity, did it in 1984 as well.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

He didn't fail to create over 4 million

4 million jobs? What a laugh? And look at the debt?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Any of ya'll putting faith in the Mueller investigation need to look at the BCCI Bank scandal and then read the actual indictments for Roger Stone as posted online the day before his arrest. The fact that CNN was at the arrest shows that there are Democrats working with the FBI to release confidential information and it's not going to work in their favor as people are starting to identify that the real issue isn't the Border Wall or Trump but the new class of undercover anarchy vigilantes within government that will eventually sell out Americans even more than they already have. They moved faster to indict Republicans while the Democrats that have rigged elections and traded in shady dealings out in the open are running around free as a bird. Ballot box stuffing, destruction of evidence, refusal to enforce law already on the books, allowing non-citizens to vote in elections. Not one thing has been done about it because they are upholding the status quo just like they did with the bank, housing and automotive bailouts.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I think you respect Ann more than you’re letting on, you talk non-stop about her, but she is a cool lady though granted.

Yet once again, you ignore the question...

So true, its not like Donny ever questioned Obama's birth certificate.

Or like they interrupted Obama during a speech to Congress to call him a liar. Or poked their finger in his nose on the tarmac: https://i.huffpost.com/gen/732337/original.jpg

No, I think that would be Romney...Jeb was just painfully boring...

She also dated “bathtub boy” aka as Keith Olbermann for a time and is close friends with Bill Maher, so Ann talks all day, how she feels and switches from Compliment to insults...no one cares of pay attention to it, kinda like Kathy Griffin, say what’s on your mind and let’s move on.

Love the woman, but it’s Ann Coulter. Lol

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

If Trump were the weak one, then why is it the Democrats can’t get anything past the Senate, Probably their communicative skills are a bit......rusty.....non-existent...

Whereas Trump has the best communication skills. He made this very clear when he stated:

"I’m very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words. "

The diary of the Wimpy President makes interesting reading. He claims he did not make a concession, but cared about the 800,000 workers, the same ones he and his followers were busy dissing last week.

Then he threatens to use National Emergency.

ROFL, once a Wimpy, always a Wimpy.

I never commented on liberal hyperbole. It's as offensive as any hyperbole.

No one hurled slurs at Obama the way they do Trump. We don’t care if people insult Trump, we’re not liberals, we have thicker skins, however it just brings the decorum down to elementary school level.

Nobody is this untethered from reality. Birtherism. Pocahontas. Non-existent sex tapes. White nationalists. It's impossible to bring the level down further than Trump and his supporters have. Impossible.

No, Ann Coulter is right. Trump is a WIMP. Really. What has Trump accomplished? His wall has become nothing but comedy.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Chip Star: So no reason for the Dems to negotiate. Declare the emergency and safe everyone the time and energy. Focus on keeping the government funded. Be an adult for once.

In a zero sum game there is no reason to negotiate. Just do what Obama would do and issue an executive order and do whatever you want. If he is lucky he can get it past the courts when the inevitable lawsuits come flooding in.

It has long since been the case that the courts are the method by which significant change is brought about in America’s corrupted system of government. That’s why it is so important that Trump continues to get conservatives on the courts at all levels and at least one more on the Supreme Court before his presidency ends. Democrats realized that is how the game is played going back to the 70’s and Roe v Wade. Conservatives have been playing catch-up ever since. Come on Ginsburg - retire already!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

the wall may not be perfect

There is no wall in the first place. Trump fails at everything and Ann Coulter thinks he's a wimp

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"I’m very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words. "

Every think that Trump also loves to egg on the msm, he loves to get them up riled because he knows they’ll print it. The msm aren’t the only ones that like to troll....

Nobody is this untethered from reality. Birtherism. Pocahontas. Non-existent sex tapes. White nationalists. It's impossible to bring the level down further than Trump and his supporters have. Impossible.

Dunno, Chip....Spitzer, Wiener, Clinton all did some pretty noticeable and memorable damage themselves, add to that the Antifa (peace lovers, lol) Fascists, the liberals and Dems embraced, I would put a wager on that.

So no reason for the Dems to negotiate. Declare the emergency and safe everyone the time and energy. Focus on keeping the government funded. Be an adult for once.

Be an adult you’re right, can’t depend on Pelosi to act like one, so Trump opened the government and let’s wait and see what these Democrats do, keep their words or just full of hot air like they always are.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

None of these people have dragged the decorum down like trump, which is what the topic of discussion was. Try to stay on point for longer than a breath.

Be an adult you’re right, can’t depend on Pelosi to act like one, so Trump opened the government and let’s wait and see what these Democrats do, keep their words or just full of hot air like they always are.

Just yesterday you were cheering Trump to continue the shutdown and dismissing the 800 thousand federal employees as mere democrats that should be getting jobs in the private sector. Now you are painting Trump as the adult for his predictable failure.

Which is it? Trump should continue the shutdown and screw the democratic voting federal employees while making our country less safe, or is he correct for caving. No matter hoevyoh cut it, he folded like an origami crane.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He should resign. Trump is a phony and a fraud. Trump and Limbaugh should join Jesse Ventura and chase golf balls and UFOS in the Mexican desert

The aliens are coming from the skies. They are impregnating our women and doing experiments on our men. We need a Shield, a big Shield. Hmmm ... I like it.

Chip, you must be unaware that cranes symbolize good fortune and longevity.

Didn’t even exhale!

I never predicted Trump as a failure and you would never find me saying, so please don’t spin and yes, I want Trump to hold the line, even if that means opening up the government until 2/15 and if the slithering Democrats still won’t budge, declare a national emergency and get the wall done that way.

Which is it? Trump should continue the shutdown and screw the democratic voting federal employees while making our country less safe, or is he correct for caving. No matter hoevyoh cut it, he folded like an origami crane.

You call it caving, I call it compromise because as you said, someone has to be the adult and if Pelosi and her goon squad don’t want to then he should. 3 weeks we should see if the Dems are lying as usual or if they put their money where their mouth is and they really are for border security. Again, I won’t hold my breath.

Dunno, Chip....Spitzer, Wiener, Clinton all did some pretty noticeable and memorable damage themselves, add to that the Antifa (peace lovers, lol) Fascists, the liberals and Dems embraced, I would put a wager on that.

They are not crashing the economy and running up record debt. Trump believers are brainwashed.

call it compromise

Ann Coulter calls is wimping out. Trump is a wimp. He had 25 billion before for border security and now he has ZERO

Just do what Obama would do and issue an executive order

Trump would even fail at that and catch more hell from Ann Coulter. Trump can't do anything right.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Not only has Trump created a situation where the Dems must keep their word but he simultaneously seized the high ground from them. He also paced the Dems to almost unanimously proclaim they were for strong border security and would vote for such. But most importantly he once again manipulated the mainstream media to raise awareness and interest in the border and immigration. By doing so he has indirectly engaged and educated Americans on all issues immigration, border barriers and border security in general. This is a huge tactical win for Trump. At the same time he still holds the highest card....another shut down.

If you want to talk about cave-ins, Bernie Sanders caved within a nanosecond of being cheated out of the Dem nomination.

Like the wall that Mexico will pay for? Trump is a wimp (Ann Coulter) and he is a scammer. He is very poor at business and went bankrupt many times.

Bernie Sanders caved within a nanosecond of being cheated out of the Dem nomination.

He is old and losing his mind. So is Trump, what is the point. If you wanted a Republican why not someone who is not going senile. Trump has always been crazy. But he is crazy and losing his mind at his old age. Two big problems. How about fat man Chis Christie. If he were president the US presidency would not be a joke (except for Twinkies). He is not that old, which is another plus.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump would even fail at that and catch more hell from Ann Coulter.

Heh, all you got at this point is Ann Coulter, who you hate, lol.

Trump can't do anything right.

@Serrano

Where does this data come from?

You usually post links to Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham or disheveled nutters in basements. The lack of a source is conspicuous by its absence.

This isn’t from Rump’s website, is it?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Dems must keep their word but he simultaneously seized the high ground from them.

their word being a wall, part steel barrier , part fence, part drone and other monitoring devices, never at anytime did they state theyll fund a 30ft full wall ocean to ocean, exactly what Trump campaigned on. Seized the high ground how so!?, Trump started the shutdown, which he clearly stated he owned and the majority of American blamed him for, now he reversing the shutdown he started and is claiming the high ground..

thats like Trump stealing a persons money , then giving it back , then calling the police and pointing the finger at the Dems saying theyre guilty , they made me do it. LMFAO

Plus he canceled Nancy's taxpayer funded Europe excursion. hehehe

so shell just go at a later date, bit like Trumps canceled SOTU speech, hehehehe

All that has to happen is that 15 days prior the Secretary of defense has to notify Congress. Notify, not get approval from.

Then DOD starts “barrier” construction. Dems don’t even know what’s coming.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/10/284

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Dems don’t even know what’s coming.

Trump voters said this last time. Then came Ann Coulter and called Trump a WIMP. Which Trump is. Trump is losing his mind (I mean medically) proof is he can only say simple things like the wall and crooked Hillary repetitively. Trump is no longer a good president because Ann Coulter no longer approves of Trump.

When it is actually true. Nothing you write hurts in the least.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Hmmm...if the Democrats think about border security the same way they think about vacationing then we are all so.....screwed.

Two days ago you were complaining about Dems taking lavish vacations. Which is it? So they take lavish vacations or horrible vacations? You're constantly moving the goalposts so it's impossible to know what you're trying to say.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

When it is actually true. Nothing you write hurts in the least.

How about this, does it hurt?

Ann Coulter: Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.

Ann Coulter: No question Pelosi outplayed Trump.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Not only has Trump created a situation where the Dems must keep their word but he simultaneously seized the high ground from them. He also paced the Dems to almost unanimously proclaim they were for strong border security and would vote for such. He's just so brilliant - haven't you seen that huge, beautiful wall that Mexico paid for the has been standing on the border for two years, with the big "Trump" logo on top?

Been keeping caravans out of our country for over 700 days...

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I totally disagree, in fact I would argue the exact opposite.

Didn’t even exhale!

Of course you do. Your knee-jerk reaction is to disagree with liberals. That's okay because reality does not support you.

I never predicted Trump as a failure and you would never find me saying, so please don’t spin and yes,

Uh . . . Try re-reading my post. You got so worked up to reply, you missed what I actually wrote. Try again.

I want Trump to hold the line,

Holding the line would have been to keep the government shut just like you were saying two days ago. Mark another 180 for you.

even if that means opening up the government until 2/15 and

How is that holding the line? It isn't because he changed course, which is the opposite of holding the line. You're exposing your screeching about-face even more. It's humorous.

if the slithering Democrats still won’t budge, declare a national emergency and get the wall done that way.

So the Dems have no reason to negotiate and this is all a stunt by Trump. Got it.

You call it caving,

Yes, because Trump gave the Dems what they wanted - the government open - and received zero in return. It's the definition of caving.

I call it compromise

Of course you do because you can't ever accept when Trump is incorrect or loses like he did here. A compromise is when both parties get a little of something they wanted. Trump got nothing, so there is no way a reasonable person would call this a compromise.

because as you said, someone has to be the adult and if Pelosi and her goon squad don’t want to then he should.

ROFL. Your hyperbole aside, Trump needed to be forced into being the adult. A mere two days ago your definition of being the adult was for Trump to hold the line, which meant keeping the government shutdown. Remember disparaging the 800 thousand federal emoloyees as just democratic voters? I can copy and paste your words if you'd like.

3 weeks we should see if the Dems are lying as usual

A Trump supporter complaining about anyone lying is the height of hypocrisy given Trump lies on an hourly basis.

or if they put their money where their mouth is and they really are for border security. Again, I won’t hold my breath.

They are for border security. The issue is that you view the world in binary terms so can't accept that anything but Trump's ineffective, inane wall is border security. Please stop blaming the Dems for your myopic worldview.

First a wall, now a cave.

I am looking now in the Art of the Deal for the chapter on total caving. Based on Trumps multiple failures in his life it should be the best informed chapter.

So the estimate is that Trump's Wall fantasy, along with his millions of deluded followers, cost the USA economy about $6 billion in losses that will not be recovered. All for nothing. This Is the perfect example of Trump and Republican policies, huge costs, tons of idiotic propaganda and in the end zero results.

Even Ann Coulter now is calling herself stupid for supporting Trump.

Coulter slammed Trump for the concession, telling "Real Time" host Bill Maher that the president had broken "the promise he made every day for 18 months."

"Now you're finding out he's a lying con man," Maher said. "What was your first clue?"

Over laughs and shouts from the audience, Coulter replied "Okay, I'm a very stupid girl, fine."

Word is Pelosi is working on her book now, title "The Art of Dealing with a Sucker aka Trump."

To her credit she is not gloating, if Trump had not caved in so badly and actually got his phony wall funded Twitter would have melted down via his stubby short fingers. Again, so good the adults won this one and not the petulant child in the WH and his clueless adherents.

Hmmm...if the Democrats think about border security the same way they think about vacationing then we are all so.....screwed.

oh like the 150+ days Trumps spent at his Mar Largo resort, all the while profiting by charging American taxpayer for him and his security to stay at a resort he owns. America already lost $6billion for a shut down Trump owned, what's another couple million for Trump to stay at Mar Largo. Keep up this Trump logic and most definitely America is screwed.

Then DOD starts “barrier” construction. Dems don’t even know what’s coming.

even if Trump does declare a national emergency, many Republican dont think that is wise especially when the next Democrat POTUS can use it on policies dear to them. second declaring a emergency doesn't mean construction will start , there will most likely be legal action and then you have land owner rights who have the right to sue emergency or not. If everything goes in Trump's favor itll be at least another year before any meaningful wall construction starts, by that time the 2020 elections will be on. Then Trump will see if he has the will of the American people behind his wall. If I was a betting man I wouldnt put very good odds on Trump finishing let alone partially finishing his wall.

How about this, does it hurt?

Ann Coulter: Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.

Ann Coulter: No question Pelosi outplayed Trump.

"Now you're finding out he's a lying con man," Maher said. "What was your first clue?"

Over laughs and shouts from the audience, Coulter replied "Okay, I'm a very stupid girl, fine."

Isn't it refreshing to hear what smart conservatives with their heads on planet earth have to say once in a while.

HW Bush the biggest wimp ever to serve as POTUS? You do know that he was shot down while serving in WW2, right? No, that title belongs to Obama. You know, his apology tours and all.

Ms. Coulter is an amazing individual in that she is embodies a troll. No matter who she is turning her ad hominem vitriol upon, it's repugnant.

Heh, you anti-Trumpers sure are milking Ann Coulter's criticism of Trump for all it's worth. So, if she embodies a troll, then... Ann Coulter: No question Pelosi outplayed Trump...

Then, it must be Pelosi in fact didn't outplay Trump! Yeah, Coulter is indeed incorrect on this one. Everyone makes mistakes.

The truth is it's a sad state of affairs when the President of the United States has to play politics and scheme and maneuver just to secure the country's border. Democrats are not red blooded patriotic Americans.

No, we don't know about an apology tour because it never happened. Oh, yeah, most terrorists killed. And that one guy . . . bin Laden! But, yeah, a wimp.

Stating facts is not trolling.

Then, it must be Pelosi in fact didn't outplay Trump! Yeah, Coulter is indeed incorrect on this one. Everyone makes mistakes.

Odd. I didn't say Coulter was incorrect, I said she was repugnant. Let's not twist words.

The truth is it's a sad state of affairs when the President of the United States has to play politics and scheme and maneuver just to secure the country's border.

He doesn't. Trump made this bed and is now being forced to enjoy it.

Democrats are not red blooded patriotic Americans.

You forgot "ignorant" just befkre "red." HAR! Tee Hee. Oh my . . .

as to play politics

Trump was beat by a girl then called a WIMP by another. And still no concrete wall. Trump is a joke.

"If we don't get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on Feb 15 - again - or I would use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency."

So lemmie get this straight; he said if he doesn't get his 5.7 mil from the gov't by Feb 15th, he'll shut down the gov't again? Call me what you like, bus isn't that "ransom"? Or a threat? Because he knows the damage a shut down does to the poorer people. I think within that time, an impeachment should be swiftly in effect!

1st it was a concrete 30ft high wall , ocean to ocean which mexico will pay for.

2nd if was a 30ft high wall , ocean to ocean which the US taxpayer will pay for.

3rd if was a high wall or a steel barrier, ocean to ocean which the US taxpayer will pay for.

4th if was a high wall some steel barrier, some fencing , some drones , some smart wall ocean to ocean which the US taxpayer will pay for.

funny the 4th option sound pretty close to what the Dems were negotiating.

5th declare a fake national emergency , steal money from various governement agencies relief funds and bypass the whole US government Democrats / Republicans alike. You know land of the free , home of the brave , pillar of modern democracy, soon to be run by a dictator.

And people complain about Putin. LOL
