it seems he’s not sending his best.

I don't think that matters to Trump and his Republicans. Their goal seems to be undermining voting, bringing into question elections in general and voting, cornerstone to democracy.

So far Trump and his R's appear to have been successful in getting large numbers of the US's 'poorly educated' to follow them in their attacks on democracy and the principles the republic was built on.

The globe's authoritarians must be pleased watching Trump further weaken the US.

You couldn't make this stuff up.  It's beyond satirical comedy.  And I think, given this is a Trump project, they got the "pole watcher" mixed up with something about watching a "pole dancer".

22 ( +26 / -4 )

A stunning performance from both Giuliani and Sidney Powell today.

In other developments, only 47% of Americans think the election was not stolen.

The walls are closing in.

Its happening....

it seems he’s not sending his best.

I think he is. This whole refusal to admit defeat is only exposing just how incompetent trump and his merry band of morons are. Their chickens are coming home to roost.

They managed for years to get by on bluster, innuendo, rhetoric and conspiracy theory, but now that it’s come to actually trying to convince rational judges acting within the structure of the American legal system, that their claims have any validity at all, the (literal) judges are saying nope. It’s all a house of cards. Oliver Stone will make a documentary on it in a few years: Nixon 2: How America Forgot.

Comedy gold. Thanks bob!

Meanwhile, you have the likes of a Lindsey Graham and Trump calling election officials trying to persuade them into not certifying an election.

Hope Trump gets what he deserves on Jan 21st, an arrest warrant.

27 ( +31 / -4 )

In other developments, only 47% of Americans think the election was not stolen.

Here we see the Right only considering Republicans to be Americans, as 47% is the number of Republican voters who feel that way.

When your lawyer needs a lawyer, you need a new lawyer.

25 ( +29 / -4 )

Theres a great photo of greaseball Giuliani in his latest vaudeville press conference, looking panicked, hair dye dripping down his face. I havent seen him sweat so much since he was busted by Borat trying to take his pants off with that girl!

21 ( +25 / -4 )

When President Donald Trump sends lawyers to court, it seems he’s not sending his best.

How can decent and top lawyers would want to work for Trump when there is no admissible evidence and that they would be unfairly dismissed at any time?

19 ( +22 / -3 )

It seems like the GOP is trying to steal the election. In Michigan, there was a report where two GOP officials had sought to block certification of ballots from only mostly Black Detroit, but allowing another district in the Wayne country area of mostly White voters. Fortunately, due to huge public outcry it was overturned and all votes were certified.

https://detroit.cbslocal.com/2020/11/18/michigan-gop-backtracks-after-blocking-vote-certification/

In any case, it boggles my mind that Republicans want to whine that Democrats "stole" Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. They forget that these states have always traditionally been blue. They are just taking it back from that blip in 2016. If anything, a case could be made that Trump stole those states back in 2016, since it was kind of fishy that traditionally blue states suddenly and mysteriously switched for Trump.

It's all Trump's fault that Democrats were able to claim back those states that had been theirs from a long time back.

Then again, Republicans would rather believe in conspiracy theories than changing demographics and fed-up centrist voters who had a change of heart this election.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

You got a guy occupying the office who is acting like an elementary school crybaby, but we must endeavor to look on the positive side - at least they didn't spell "pole" with a capital letter. You'd have people in Warsaw and Gdansk panicking and looking over their shoulders needlessly, and we don't want to put stress like that on our allies now do we?

12 ( +15 / -3 )

A stunning performance from both Giuliani and Sidney Powell today.

You're right. It was the most stunning, ridiculous, over the top nutso performance I've seen in my lifetime. It was like watching Roseanne Barr, the Tiger King, a couple pounds of stimulants, and giving them a live mic for 90 minutes.

17 ( +20 / -3 )

My dad was a lawyer for about 30 years including about 10 as a prosecutor for OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration).

He told me that, while assistant federal prosecutors were the best attorneys he had ever dealt with, the top federal prosecutor for each region (Such as Rudy in the SDNY) were political appointees who were frequently hacks with little actual experience or knowledge of the law or how prosecutors operated. They saw the job as a stepping stone to higher office. Sound familiar?

Rudy was never a good lawyer. His assistants did the leg work and he was a camera hog who took all the credit.

Now he’s billing Trump for 20k a day (assuming Trump actually pays) and showing himself for the craven, conspiracy spewing moron he actually is.

21 ( +23 / -2 )

I never want this comedy to end. Had this been in a comedy it would have been dismissed as being to absurd. What a bunch of clowns.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Awful lot of focus on the lawyers Instead of their claims.

if even half of what is claimed is true, we have a second term for President Trump.

-32 ( +5 / -37 )

A stunning performance from both Giuliani and Sidney Powell today.

I was certainly stunned! smh

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Black,

The claims are as farcical as the lawyers making them and none of them are true.

Trump lost. He’s a loser.

23 ( +27 / -4 )

No serious, self-respecting professional would ever want to aid and abet Trump in his blatantly thuggish abuse of power, nor, like ACB, wish to be preferred by an impeached Potus to take a position of responsibility under his disreputable aegis. History will not be kind to those who have sold their services to act as accomplices to a scofflaw of his ilk.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

I don't think that matters to Trump and his Republicans. Their goal seems to be undermining voting, bringing into question elections in general and voting, cornerstone to democracy.

What democracy? These voter irregularities have nothing to do with democracy finding 6000 ballots and more in Trump’s name, stopping and halting counting, not allowing Republican observers in to watch the counting, boarding up windows to not allow the Republicans observers to view the counting and so much more crap has nothing to do with democracy, quite the opposite, it’s more than undermining democracy at its worst.

So far Trump and his R's appear to have been successful in getting large numbers of the US's 'poorly educated' to follow them in their attacks on democracy and the principles the republic was built on.

Being and seeing at how this election was screwed up, the should and hopefully more of the unwanted now more than ever will join the growing Trump train, more to come

The globe's authoritarians must be pleased watching Trump further weaken the US.

China is, they love Biden, really love the guy.

-28 ( +6 / -34 )

Awful lot of focus on the lawyers Instead of their claims.

That's because time after time after time in court, their 'claims' have been shown to be nothing but hot air. They have yet, among two dozen or more lawsuits that have already been thrown out of court, shown a single shred of evidence to support their claims.

As many people have said, courts and judges aren't OAN. They aren't Newsmax, or Hannity. They aren't Twitter. Courts and judges demand not claims, not loudmouth yelling. They demand evidence and proof.

And the lawyers, Trump, et al have yet to produce any.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

During the hearing, Giuliani forgot the name of an opposing lawyer, misstated the name of the presiding judge and mistook the meaning of the word “opacity.”

Just the kind of man I’d pay $20, 000 per day to.

I say we double his payment !!!!

15 ( +16 / -1 )

In other developments, only 47% of Americans think the election was not stolen.

What? Only around 65% of Americans and less than half of those supported Trump. 47% of those supporters are ignorant enough to think the election was “stolen”. That’s a looooooong way from 47% of Americans, unless your premise is that real Americans are only the Republicans that voted?

14 ( +16 / -2 )

These voter irregularities have nothing to do with democracy finding 6000 ballots and more in Trump’s name...

Notice how this rhetoric has literally fallen apart in front of every judge it's been put in front of?

The Trumpets have taken the fight to a place that requires facts, and deals with reality, rather than dealing in rhetoric and innuendo. And the Trumpets are failing.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Notice how this rhetoric has literally fallen apart in front of every judge it's been put in front of?

Thank God we still have the SC.

-31 ( +4 / -35 )

Awful lot of focus on the lawyers Instead of their claims.

if even half of what is claimed is true, we have a second term for President Trump.

But none of it is true. That’s why the cases are being dismissed.

Which claims do you believe are true? Which cases have won so far? Be specific.

A formidable press conference from Giuliani.

Such symmetry of hair dye leakage. Masterful.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Give it another month and these comedians will turn on each other.

None of the trump dream team have a shred of intelligence between them. And rudy getting all the limelight, with his comic antics, is leading to a lot of jealousy.

That $20,000 per day will not last long and then the band of idiots will be tearing each other apart!!!!

16 ( +19 / -3 )

You can understand rudy’s desperation though, with the investigations he is under, another 4 years of trump is all that is standing between him and prison!!!!

17 ( +20 / -3 )

This is not being tried in the court of public opinion and a press conference is not an evidentiary hearing. So more to come, it’s only Day 8.

-22 ( +5 / -27 )

The Georgia recount is done and Biden the clear winner.

Time for rudy to leak some more hair dye.

And trump............

16 ( +18 / -2 )

A Pennsylvania court just invalidated 2,349 absentee ballots in Allegheny County where the voter didn't date their declaration.

-24 ( +5 / -29 )

So more to come, it’s only Day 8.

You need to straighten up and get on with your life, it's sad to see a man drag himself through this fantasy daily. It's over, he lost. This obsession with Donald can't be doing you any good.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

This is not being tried in the court of public opinion and a press conference is not an evidentiary hearing. So more to come, it’s only Day 8.

You're right, it's not in the court of public opinion. It's in a court of law, which demands evidence and not just blathering. And so far, Trump and his legal team are a gaggle of losers. 0 for Everything.

18 ( +20 / -2 )

“That press conference was the most dangerous 1hr 45 minutes of television in American history. And possibly the craziest.”

Giuliani literally melting down.

This will be a fascinating period of history to look back on, one day. Right now it veers between hilarious and downright terrifying, though.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

A Pennsylvania court just invalidated 2,349 absentee ballots in Allegheny County where the voter didn't date their declaration.

Like I said in another post, they still need to fish for 70,000 votes to invalidate to change the outcome.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

None of this is factually accurate.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

SC isn't going to take up Trump's hail mary. They already turned down the request to expedite hearing on a petition for a writ of certiorari on ballots mailed but not received on election day and deadlocked on overturning the Pennsylvania lower court ruling. Roberts isn't willing to have the SC look political regardless of the Republican skew of its members so don't expect them and Coney Barrett to come through for Trump in the end. She already skipped out on ruling on the above-mentioned Pennsylvania case, so she's clearly thinking of her next 30-40 years on the court and not Trump's last 2 months.

bass4funk

Thank God we still have the SC.

Crazy Rudy is showing everyone he is beyond crazy - getting caught with a supposed 15 year old, holding a press conference across from an adult bookstore, now he literally "melts down" as his hair dye leaks...

Get Rudy into a "Home" quick...take Trump too...at least until the two of them are indicted and get accommodations free from the government...

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Liberals going kind of insane here.

almost like you know that we know that your guy cheated.,

Still waiting for the evidence showing you know we know you know "our guy" cheated.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

I think we need to call the elephant in the room for what it is. Our local Republicans are too embarrassed to admit after four years of Trump that it's undeniable by any rational human being that Hillary would have been an extremely better president that Trump ever was, and so they double down on him rather than admitting their stupidity.

And where did they learn this behavior? From their dear leader who is doubling down on stealing the election rather than admitting he's a Loser who Lost.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

uh huh. and how many states have been certified, under penalty of fraud if they do? that would be zero.

So how has it been determined that Biden "won"?

Wasnt it just that the media "projected" such based on the count of legal and illegal votes reported from states.

Now we are in the process of recounting votes, then the next step is validating that what was counted should have been counted (or not).

Day 8.

-24 ( +4 / -28 )

Keep up the resistance. Give Biden the same treatment the Dems gave him.

-24 ( +4 / -28 )

So how has it been determined that Biden "won"?

The same way it's been determined every other election, that's how.

The same way it was determined that Trump won, which the Democrats agreed with and conceded. Yet, you guys went on about getting over it, and how the Democrats refused to accept the democratically elected president of the USA. And here we are four years later, and that which DIDN'T happen (when you guys screwed up by not voting for Hillary) is actually happening, by you guys! Well don't you just look like a bunch of losers now.

And we the rest of the world look for ways to work around your nation for being so stupid. Look at the massive trade pact put together by China with all the other countries. Obama never let that happen. Hillary wouldn't have let that happen. Hell, even the Bushes wouldn't have let that happen.

You guys supported a moron, putting your country on an irrecoverable path to irrelevance. You got the president you deserved.

15 ( +20 / -5 )

Liberals going kind of insane here.

It's interesting, though. The cognitive dissonance with the base is at peak levels, I reckon.

Used to believe that Millwall supporters and the DPRK were amongst the most deluded and brainwashed in the world. The last 4 years and especially the last few weeks have proved otherwise.

Not joking but am genuinely concerned how to bring Trump supporters back to reality? An intervention, a series of deprogrammings or a truth & reconciliation commission as practiced in other countries?

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Keep up the resistance. Give Biden the same treatment the Dems gave him.

Ah, so you guys are going back to your tactics of eight years of Obama, where your team declared all resources to be ensuring the black president was a one-term president.

How'd that work out? Seems he ended up as the most popular president since JFK. Oops!

Betcha wished you went for Hillary.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

But the president’s constant barrage of baseless claims, his work to personally sway local officials who certify votes and his allies' refusal to admit he lost is likely to have a lasting negative impact on the country. Legions of his supporters don’t believe he lost.

The Republican Cult (nee party) providing more evidence each day that it has cast off democracy and is now fully invested in authoritarianism and tyranny...

I spent a career in our military protecting our country from threats of authoritarianism and tyranny that came from beyond our borders....now that threat emanates from the Senate and White House...

The Republican Cult is now no different from those supporting Putin, Xi, Kim, and the Mullahs...

14 ( +17 / -3 )

uh huh. and how many states have been certified, under penalty of fraud if they do? that would be zero.

https://ballotpedia.org/How_and_when_are_election_resultsfinalized%3F(2020)

Fun fact, currently contested states haven't reached their certification dates. The more you know!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Also a _ between results and finalized.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

What a scam and con-job...Trump and his far-right hate machine scream "It's rigged - it's fraud"....

Yet in every court appearance so far Trump's lawyers have had to admit "we're not alleging fraud"...

Last Thurs Trump's lawyer in Arizona was forced to admit before the judge that "we are not alleging fraud or that the election was stolen"...

And yesterday Giuliani in Pennsylvania had to do the same thing;

“It’s a widespread, nationwide voter fraud,” Giuliani said. He accused local election officials of being part of a “little mafia” and preventing Republican Party observers from watching ballots being counted. But under questioning from U.S. District Judge Matthew W. Brann, Giuliani admitted, “This is not a fraud case.”

Yet Trump continues to bilk his supporters out of their money to "fight the fraud"...

Sounds criminal, doesn't it....

14 ( +17 / -3 )

So how has it been determined that Biden "won"?

The people voted, votes were counted and a false narrative from the clearly deluded leader was rejected.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

All Trump and his cronies are doing is trying to sow confusion and dissent. He feels that if you shout out a conspiracy enough times, even if there is no shred of evidence to support it, it will eventually stick to something. Planting that little seed in the minds of his sheep is all he wants.

The frightening thing is that the lies get crazier and crazier, with no end in sight. The people I feel the sorriest for are the men and women who volunteered to count the ballots and follow the system working for hours on end, with the protesters berating them and insulting them for just doing their job.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Trump (and I was saying this months and months before the election) will not leave. Trump's KKKNRA2A Oath Keeper Militias will guard the WH to make sure Trump will never leave. It will be civil war since half of the USA believe in Trump. Long live the Trumps!!

It's so funny that Trump people would get upset at me when I used to say (again months ago) that he will never leave if he loses the general election and now I'm saying it (and he's NOT leaving) they are for some reason silent about it.

There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration

(Pompeo)

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Putting on a public clown show presenting claims of fraud and conspiracy when all the lawsuits claiming the same thing have been knocked down by Courts in several States isn't going to change anything. Other than to keep the Trump supporting zombies fired up. The country needs to get on with fighting COVID not wasting it's time and energy on this nonsense. Trump is out, and he's burning down the country with him. And Rudy absolutely needs to be put out to pasture...lol

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Biden got more "votes" than Obama or Hillary ever got!!!!

Yeah, right, nothing to see here.

Trump early on showed the people how fake the news is, and now he's showing everyone how fake elections are.

-15 ( +5 / -20 )

To those that don't subscribe to the law of democracy , and the democratic voice of the people, feel free to move to Russia ( you know, the place that Trump idolises)

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Time for all of these cry babies to leave. Too bad that these babies are breaking everything before they go. Even though there are people’s lives in the balance, they don’t care about running them over for revenge. This isn’t patriotism, but it’s not surprising coming from this president.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Trump early on showed the people how fake the news is, and now he's showing everyone how fake elections are.

Does everyone see where this line of thinking goes? A single party police state with no elections, after all everyone knows how fake elections are, and a state propaganda organ that is passed off as the "press" since the news is fake too. This is the Republican dream today. Like Lincolnman I served my nation's military trying to keep a foreign enemy from imposing a single party police state upon the US and its allies. Now the most dangerous totalitarian enemy the US faces is not foreign, but the Republican Party.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Even Fox News is calling out the outright lies....

In Pennsylvania, Giuliani continued to claim widespread voter fraud in Philadelphia, even though he has already said in court, and I quote, ‘This is not a fraud case,’” Fisher said.

“What he is saying in public — not under oath — is different from what he said in court.”

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/fox-news-checks-rudy-giuliani_n_5fb6fd35c5b67f34cb3991d4

What a pathetic, sick farce...open your eyes Trump supporters - don't fall for the con-job...

10 ( +14 / -4 )

The Republicans are playing with fire. If the legitimate vote of the people is usurped by the legislatures of any state and especially if enough legislatures do this to change the outcome of the election, there will be a revolution in the US and some states will leave. Never in my life have I written this but seeing what Mr. Trump and the Republican Party are attempting to do is, to me, as much a threat to everything the US supposedly stands for as any threat that could come from abroad. If the courts do not stop this affront the people will have to. Thomas Jefferson once wrote that the tree of liberty needs to be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. The US may be approaching such a time.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

President Trump has signaled that he is going to take the battle to the fraudsters in the aftermath of today's press conference.

"We will not back down, we won't be intimidated, President Trump will not be intimidated. You the American people should not be intimidated... this is not a court of law, we will get there, and we have time, and we have constitutional provisions that will step in when we show the corruption and the irredeemably challenged and overturned votes that are absolutely corrupt."

-Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Advisor to the Trump Campaign

The Nine Key Points detailed today:

Observers were allegedly prevented from watching mail-in ballots being opened. Giuliani said that many mail-in ballots were opened without observers being able to check that they were properly signed, a key protection against fraud. Those votes, he said, were “null and void,” especially where the envelopes had been discarded, making recounts useless.

Allegedly unequal application of the law in Democratic counties. In Pennsylvania, whose state supreme court created new, relaxed voting rules before the election, Giuliani alleged that absentee voters in Democratic counties were allowed to “cure” defects in their ballots, while voters in Republican counties, which obeyed the state law as written, were not.

Voters allegedly arrived at the polls to discover other people had voted for them. Giuliani said that many provisional ballots cast in Pittsburgh were submitted by people who showed up to vote in person, only to be told that they had voted already. He alleged that Democrats had filled out absentee ballots for other people, hoping they would not show up.

Election officials were allegedly told not to look for defects in ballots, and to backdate ballots. Giuliani cited an affidavit from an official who swore she was told not to exclude absentee ballots for defects, and to backdate ballots so they would not appear to have been received after Election Day, to avoid a Supreme Court order to sequester those ballots.

Ballots casting votes for Joe Biden and no other candidates were allegedly run several times through machines. Giuliani said that there were 60 witnesses in Michigan who would attest to ballots being “produced” quickly and counted twice or thrice. He said that a minimum of 60,000 ballots, and a maximum of 100,000 ballots, were allegedly affected.

Absentee ballots were accepted in Wisconsin without being applied for first. Giuliani noted that Wisconsin state law was stricter regarding absentee ballots than most other states are, yet alleged that 60,000 absentee ballots were counted in the Milwaukee area, and 40,000 in the Madison area, without having been applied for properly by the voters who cast them.

There were allegedly “overvotes,” with some precincts allegedly recording more voters than residents, among other problems. Giuliani said there was an unusually large number of overvotes in precincts in Michigan and in Wisconsin, which he alleged was the reason that Republicans on the Wayne County Board of Canvassers had refused to certify the results there this week. He also alleged that there were some out-of-state voters in Georgia, and people who had cast votes twice there.

Voting machines and software are allegedly owned by companies with ties to the Venezuelan regime and to left-wing donor George Soros. Sidney Powell argued that U.S. votes were being counted overseas, and that Dominion voting machines and Smartmatic software were controlled by foreign interests, manipulating algorithms to change the results. Powell noted specifically that Smartmatic’s owners included two Venezuelan nationals, whom she alleged had ties to the regime of Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro. The legal team alleged that there were statistical anomalies, such as huge batches of votes for Biden, that could not be explained except as manipulation — which, they alleged, happened in the wee hours of the morning as vote-counting had stalled. (The companies have disputed these allegations vigorously.)

The Constitution provides a process for electing a president if the vote is corrupted. Jenna Ellis argued that the media, had usurped the power to declare the winner of the election. She made the point, citing Federalist No. 68, that the constitutional process of selecting a president had procedural safeguards against corruption and foreign influence. Giuliani said that the campaign believed that enough votes were flawed — more than double the margins between Biden and Trump in key states — that the president had a path to victory.

As Giuliani himself said, anyone who says there is "no evidence" of mass voter fraud is lying.

-20 ( +4 / -24 )

Giuliani should have said I'm a lying fraud and there is nothing to see here. Move on.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

As Giuliani himself said, anyone who says there is "no evidence" of mass voter fraud is lying.

It’ll all come out in court then. Or are all the judges Biden supporters? Is that it?

12 ( +16 / -4 )

There's not a whole lot the Trump supporters have left to hang on to, is there? GREAT!

If your final stand is a lying nut job in Giuliani, it's over. The quicker Trump gets over his massive, crushing and no doubt about it loss in the election to Joe Biden, the better for him. The people have spoken and Donald, your one term was worst presidential example we've ever seen, so you're out! You're fired.

His political career was an unfortunate fluke of a con man, of which many got duped, and/or for those who live lies and want their own lies confirmed.

Terrible behavior of ignorance and blind loyalty which the lying POTUS brought about but time to face up to reality, skip the lying narrative, lose like an adult, allow the transition and let the healing begin, baby!

10 ( +14 / -4 )

AAAAAANNNNND GA recount just confirmed a Biden win. Law suits in GA, AZ and PA unceremoniously tossed.

Trump is a loser. He lost. It wasn't close. His supporters here are succumbing to fever dreams brought on by cognitive impairment, mental imbalance or substance abuse.

Trump is openly stating that he is doing this to get back at Democrats for questioning the validity of his election. Except that didn't happen. Nobody said that he didn't win. They said the Russians gave him a boost, which is proven fact. It is reasonable to suppose that the boost was big enough in PA, WI and MI to get him over the finish line.

Regardless, burning Democratic norms down, especially during a pandemic that has killed 250k Americans is an act of criminal negligence. There really should be a reckoning.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Obama never committed impeachable offenses. Trump committed multiple impeachable offenses. So there' that.....

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Members of the government were denied services in public accommodations, teenagers were attacked by corporate media outlets when they were the victims of racist attacks from a black supremacist group in the capital.

Yes, and this was all paid for with Hillary's PizzaGate and the Deep State. This is how the election was stolen from Trump.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

I read that some republican state legislatures may vote in their own electors and overturn the will of the voters. Could this be the death of democracy in the USA? What the world saw as a beacon of freedom is in reality just another banana republic. No more democratic than China?

2 ( +9 / -7 )

A day in the life of Rudy Giuliani;

In the morning behind a podium: It's rigged! Nation-wide fraud! The whole election was stolen! Hillary and Elvis changed ballots! Lizards have infiltrated government!

In the afternoon in court: “This is not a fraud case.”

When will the USA break up? The US guys at the office talk about this over lunch. Anyway, it is already the DSA (Disunited States of America).

6 ( +8 / -2 )

If the lawsuits turn out to be nothing, fine. If nothing else, it should reinforce peoples' belief in the election system. Then it's congrats to Joe Biden and get on with a peaceful transfer of power.

But perhaps everyone should hold back on the invective and insults until then...just sayin'

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Three things needed:

(1) full investigation of election irregularities

(2) a better balloting system used with an absolute minimum of absentee and early balloting

(3) Biden be inaugurated in January.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Trump has invited the Republican leaders of the Michigan House and Senate for a meeting on Friday. The move comes as the president’s legal team is seeking to block certification of the election results in Michigan, which President-elect Joe Biden carried by 154,187 votes.

Trump is NOT going to leave the WH. I have been saying this for months and months. Trump people used to make fun of what I have been saying but not anymore.

the timing of it suggests a connection to the president’s efforts to prevent the state from certifying Biden’s victory

(further quote)

Some of the president’s strategists have argued that Republican-controlled legislatures in Michigan and other states where Biden won can put aside the election results and appoint Trump electors to vote for him rather than Biden in the Electoral College.

(further)

Trump will NOT leave the WH

As a Republican this is an embarrassment. Rudy ended Cosa Nostra, Ended all 5 families leaving the American Italian Mafia decimated. Stood for New Yorkers when the Twin towers fell. What has happened to him?

Trump needs to concede. He is just bringing shame down on the entire country and it is dangerous game he is playing. There are valid points to restoring faith in voter process but this is not how you go about it. I believe fraud has taken place in some key states, but to the likes Trumps legal team is claiming. The fact is Biden won this election.

Time to move on.

Cruz-Gowdy 2024.

If the lawsuits turn out to be nothing, fine. If nothing else, it should reinforce peoples' belief in the election system.

That’s not how the conspiracy theory mind works. If nothing is found, it is because the evidence was buried and people were silenced. You can’t win in a discussion or sway a mind that has faulty wiring like that.

Trump has mainstreamed conspiracy theories among his followers. That is a very dangerous legacy. Look at the crackpottery we’ve read on this site alone regarding covid.

As of today, Trump's lawyers have failed 24 times to make a case.

Thank God we still have the SC.

It's just not a proper democracy if over-represented rural conservative minorities don't get what they want, is it.

One poster says that Trump is not leaving the White House and that His Proud Boys will converge to defend him.

Yes, He will and No, they won't

Let's deal with the second assumption first. The Proud Boys are a group of weekend warrior wannabe tough guys (No wonder they like Trump so much) that lack Armor or an air force. The DC cops are enough but the Army would with the streets with them and they know it. Like Trump, they are all huff and puff until it gets real and then they get back in their SUVs and go home.

And Trump is leaving. Easy way or hard way but he is leaving. My guess is that he will say the election was rigged but leave anyway. I would love to see him frog marched out the White House by the Secret Service, but Trump knows that would make him look like the loser he is and THAT is the one thing we will resist at all costs.

Someone tell this crack team that Hugo Chavez died seven years ago. If the best Trump and his cult can come up with is ‘dead people did it’ then they obviously know they lost but are deliberately trying to cause chaos and disruption to the country. Traitorous scumbags, all of them.

With voter issues continuing to be a topic on the Republican side, especially, and I don't mind scrutiny on how things are done, but only if done correctly, which it isn't, with Trump. So the current sham should stop, and voter protocol should be studied and made as infallible as possible, in the future, with things like gerrymandering not able to happen so easily.

I want it to be fair because I believe the Republicans are generally the cheaters on not only the vote count, but the lies regarding democracy and patriotism in the USA. If there is some way to get more transparency from them so they cannot keep lying, being hypocrites and using Orwellian tactics, I'd like that to happen.

This article is inaccurate:

...subvert the results

The final result has not been officially and legally called yet.

Joe Biden’s victory.

What victory? Again, no result has been officially and legally called yet.

Not until every LEGAL vote is counted and every ILLEGAL vote discarded. That is true democracy and the goal of the present Trump team effort.

Of course, Trump doesn't realize that if they don't certify the results of the Presidential election, then they don't certify the results of the Senate and House races. Fairness across the boards.

But not the SC

Control of the SC has yet to be determined.

No, we believe the evidence

So present the evidence to a judge. If it's valid, the election should be overturned. Problem is, you don't have any valid evidence. Rudi talking to anyone that isn't a judge is a waste of time.

Investigators with the Manhattan district attorney's office, which is conducting a broad criminal investigation, and the New York attorney general's office, which has a civil inquiry under way, have subpoenaed the Trump Organization seeking records relating to the consulting fees.

The subpoenas were in response to a New York Times investigation into President Donald Trump's tax returns that first disclosed that he took $26 million in write-offs that came from fees he paid to consultants, including an apparent $747,000 fee that the Times said matched a payment disclosed by Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump.

Oops. This is the level of fraud for which people go to jail. Did you sign it? Congrats, you are legally liable.

No wonder he wants to overturn the election.

blacklabel: So how has it been determined that Biden "won"?

They had an election and counted the votes and Biden had more votes.

Trump has alleged massive fraud but after dozens of court cases he's provided no evidence of that, so a vast majority of the cases have been quickly thrown out or withdrawn. Today they had a press conference again alleging fraud but again provided no evidence. There's nothing that can be changed without evidence so nothing's been changed.

To date the only things found have been human error and it's been in such a small amount it's had no impact on the election overall. Trump's attempt to link human error to fraud have been unsuccessful as they have provided no evidence of fraud.

Trump doesn't see a path via the courts anymore so he's switched his strategy to trying to get states to vote for him in the EC, but not only is the law against him in enough states, so are the GOP decision makers in those states. They don't support Trump's claims of fraud because Trump hasn't produced any evidence of fraud.

That's pretty much where we're at now. Trump fans wake up in the morning hoping for a miracle but everyone else is mostly getting on with our lives and waiting for January 20 when Trump is removed and President Biden takes over.

Hope this clears things up.

It can't be any clearer why Trump is doing anything he can to remain in office so he, and his clan, can't be prosecuted...

The real problem is you, the Press. Report the facts without trying to convey a story. You always seem hellbent on controlling the narrative and guiding which conclusions should be infered from the "facts" you report. I always thought you report the facts, intelligent people reding reach their conclusions. Your choice of words, inuendo, over quoting of one side of the story, defaulting to esteriotype the other side... etc. etc... it's revolting, nauseating and appalling. And unprofessional. And it goes both ways, press on the other side does kinda the same thing. True observers like me are left not really knowing where is the truth. Both sides tell their narratives well. As a non-american, non-partisan, apolitical, Japaese living foreigner this is what I see:

A left side hellbent (I explain shortly why I reach the hellbent conclusion) on having a senile president and a progressive VP, ONLY out of spite of haing lost to an outsopken business man who doesn't play politics. Their narrative after the election is as there is no evidence of fraud just deal with the losing. This is where I see the "hellbent", as a foreigner looking in is quite obvious to me for 4 years or so the mass media relentless attack on the President, the lies and the doctoring of statements, the lack of coverage fof achievements and so on. Never giving an inch or recannting on any of the lies the egt caught on (the Kentucky kids come to mind, the President denouncing racisim plenty of times, the "good people on both sides" defamation, etc, etc) and exploiting to the fulelst any tiny mistake or flamable bit. All the whilst covering and actively ignoring and sidesteping the same or worse things from Biden, calling troops stupid, wanting to build a border wall himself when he was a senator, the rage bursts when he is pushed on any issue he doesn't like, the perverted cringe-wrothy touching, sniffing of young girls and ladies on American citizenship ceremonies in front of cameras, the mental lapses, the China and Russia collusion very possible issues, etc. etc.) That is the definition of "no matter what" . You defenders of this guy may claim the right siders have drunk Trump's kool-aid, but you have drunk yours for so long you die at the smallest sip of clean water.

On the other side a right side interested in keeping American values intact, empowering ALL peoples in the American espectrum, trough industry and hard work and national interest at the front. And seeing thousands of irregulaties in many vote locations, I mean you have sen the videos, right? ballot watchers blocked from doing their jobs, etc. the creator of the Dominion software company openly declaring his software can overturn any number of votes no problem, a software used in Venezuela, Argentina... such bastions of democracy, and on and on, surely they can smell dead fish. But prove fraud. Perhaps not. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't try... wouldn't we all do the same if we smelled teh same stench of dead fish??

So... reporters... do your JOB: interview people on all sides left, right and in between and follos the evidence left, right and in-between and publish those results as is.

We will be able to determine where the truth lies by ourselves. Don't tell me what to conclude.

The SCOTUS has to agree to take the case. It takes 4 justices to listen to an appeal. Appeal is not an automatic right. Roberts cares deeply about the public perception of the court and probably doesn't want to get anywhere near this case. The court could let lower court rulings stand. Especially as lower courts have so roundly and decisively ruled against Trump.

If the Court did agree to take the case, I imagine that Amy would be leaned on to recuse herself as she has an obvious conflict of interest.

Even if she didn't, there is not going to be a 5-4 majority to overturn a lawfully conducted and counted election in enough places to put Trump in power. Every SOCTUS Justice (with the possible exceptions of Alito and Thomas) realize this freak show for what it is and that it would smear their (And the larger SCOTUS) legacy for all time.

The Legislative branch is not going to give Trump what the electorate decided to deny him.

China is, they love Biden, really love the guy.

oh please , Trumps secret Chinese bank account the 200million loan from a Chinese state owned bank, the multiple Ivanka trademarks given to her while daddy was negotiating a trade agreement with Xi, netting her millions.

fact remains no political family has more financial interests in China than the Trump family

A few hours earlier, Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and others had held a press conference to allege a widespread Democratic election conspiracy involving multiple states and suspect voting machines.

That's not all;

Trump attorney Sidney Powell spun fictional tales of election systems flipping votes, German servers storing U.S. voting information and election software created in Venezuela “at the direction of Hugo Chavez”

Hugo Chavez died in 2013...

I thought things couldn't get nuttier after the press conference across from the adult bookstore. But now the Trump Crazy Train has gone completely off the rails....
