Congress already said NO. Now Trump is getting the Pentagon to cancel projects to divert to a useless wall. After the Marines blasted him for wasting time with troop deployments to the border.

All to get old men with a fear of foreigners to sleep at night.

Another middle finger to our military and veterans from this Imposter President. No upgraded weapons, no additional training, no new schools for your children...and oh by the way, we're going to deploy you to the border for pure political reasons even though we say it's for a national emergency.

And all those military leaders and heroes that you admire - John McCain, Jim Mattis, John Kelly - I'll ridicule them too.

Secure our borders? A guy made it to Japan with tons of drugs through an airport. Can a wall stop an airplane from flying over it?

El Chapo said that the vast majority of his drugs went through legal road and air checkpoints. Bribery was the most effective way of securing his trade route. Also, he had fully functioning drug tunnels under the current walls that had electricity, elevators, and air conditioning.

Also, 60% of illegal crossings were done through legal check points with bribed patrol officers.

Why are we spending money on a wall? Increasing the salary of border patrol would be far more effective than wasting money on a wall.

I wonder if Trump even wants this budget to pass and work on the project, if he actually does have to start building the stupid wall then people will realize that it indeed accomplished nothing and was a total waste of funds and maybe then his supporters will start to realize his promises don't mean what he says. If the Dems and others keep "obstructing" him, then he gets all the benefits from trying to keep his promise to his base while not actually having to go through with it.

It will take a long time to sort out the legal issues, then Trump will be gone. I'm proud to know we stopped his $25 billion waste of money.

What I would support is some kind of government program to get older Trump supporters on some kind of anxiety medication. The result will be to reduce their fear of foreign people while at the same time saving a ton of money by not building a wall.

It’s a difficult issue. I can understand the dislike for Trump or any other president, but to mention border protection due to “old men with a fear for foreigners” is just plain ridiculous. As far as I know, there is not one country on this planet where you can just walk across the border and get away with it when caught. Except Japan. When I came here the first time and immigration asked me why the heck I was coming here, I just said screw you , you foreigner fearing old man and walked right in. They came running after me with “sir, you forgot your permanent resident visa”. Not. People can foam at the mouth and demonize Trump for wanting to put up a wall to keep illegal, as in not legal, immigrants out of the United States, but to be fair, once upon a time, the Secure Fence Act of 2006 was signed into law and was supported by (then senator) Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden etc., to do exactly that, prevent people from entering the US illegally. Now, one can argue that a fence is not a wall as Clinton later did, but the objective is the same. The fence was not effective and a wall won’t stop people from crossing into the US as the border is just too long and covers mostly remote areas. Perhaps someone here on JT has a solution for this problem.

It won’t take until 2025 to sort it out. Wall construction can start in a few months with this 1 billion dollars.

As the 2020 elections gets closer, there will be more and more migrant waves arriving at the border en mass attempting to force their way across the border into the U.S, and Americans (except democrats and illegal immigration sympathizers) will wish that wall, fence, barrier or whatever you call it, was built.

Everyone knows that open borders is an incentive not just for illegal immigration, but also for child-trafficking.  That is going to lead not just to more unwed mothers and their kids making illegal entry, but to cartel members ramping up their child kidnapping and human-trafficking operations, given that nobody has to prove that that baby on her hip is actually hers.  Every border crossing with a kid would mean instant catch and release. Every child of an illegal border-crosser would amount to a free ticket in. Guess the Dims are happy with that.
