Even rats know better and jump off a sinking ship! This white house is a circus!

11 ( +20 / -9 )

the only person who matter is the one who was elected, the President. His approval rating is higher than Obama's in year 2, he has accomplished more than Obama in his 8 years and with historically high economic and stock numbers, the only people who complain about Trump are ones who do not earn money, are illegal or care more about social issues more than economic issues.

"You're fired!"

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Pompeo is an anti-globalist and a global warming skeptic so he is a great choice.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

Surprising that Tillerson lasted this long he called Trump a moron last year.

According to CNN, Pompeo was first in his class at West Point and he also went to Harvard, so he's sharp. At the same time, Pompeo is a Tea Party member and is closer to Trump's way of thinking than Tillerson was. This should be interesting.

Also curious about what happens at the CIA. Pompeo did claim that the Russians were meddling in the 2016 elections, so will the new CIA chief continue in that direction or try to win Trump's favor by proclaiming it a witch hunt.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Good man, but when you and the boss have disagreements the outcome might be one you won’t like.

-14 ( +6 / -20 )

His approval rating is higher than Obama's in year 2

No its not.

he has accomplished more than Obama in his 8 years

No he's not.

and with historically high economic and stock numbers

Thanks Obama!

21 ( +26 / -5 )

he has accomplished more than Obama in his 8 years and with historically high economic and stock numbers,

What has he accomplished? Just what legislation has he pushed through to make America better? The economy and stock markets are NOT run by him!

He has pissed off just about the entire world, he has made many American's FEEL like he is doing something by all his talk and rhetoric, but just what he done?

His party controls BOTH houses and yet even they can't get anything of consequence done because of him.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

dango:

What planet or thing are you on?

18 ( +23 / -5 )

Good riddance. Tillerson was a disastrous Sec State. Good on the fmoron for having fired the guy he himself put there. Kudos!

-4 ( +8 / -12 )

I assume the fact that Tillerson said Russia was responsible for the poisoning of Sergei Skripal didn't go over too well with Putin.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

What has he accomplished?

economic success, deporting illegal aliens, possible meetings with NK, better trade terms for the US, more jobs... shall I continue? Obama killed Bin Laden and, nothing else

-19 ( +3 / -22 )

Back on topic please.

sanders is Going to self implode soon just with all the lying...I mean alternative truths she is going to have to tell the media?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Good riddance. Tillerson was a disastrous Sec State. Good on the moron for having fired the guy he himself put there

Agreed: He was pretty bad, eviscerating State and leaving the department with moral apparently rock-bottom. Or is it "rock bottom"? Toady Pompeo could plumb further depths.

So much for having "the best people." It matters naught how talented your staff is if you fail to listen to them and continuously insult them to boot. Trump takes more advice from Fox 'n Friends than he does from his cabinet (seriously - apparently he phones in for advice. Imagine being part of a televised infotainment team and frequently hear, "The president is on the line.")

Seriously, who is in what position matters zero with this president. Presidential power is further consolidated in the fantastic ravings of an increasingly unhinged narcissist.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

playing the devil's advocate cos i think trump is a tool of the highest order, but North Korea, Russia and Iran and ill add venezuela and syria to the list are all in the vested interests of the noecons who run the states/world. Doubt he is for real or he would be "gone" like jfk. bought and payed for long ago.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Just another day in the Trump circus.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

The way this went down seems dysfunctional:

Tillerson first found out he was fired on Tweeter - he only got a call afterwards. He was not pre-informed when Trump agreed to accept Kim's offer to meet (after months of Trump saying meeting Kim is pointless, while Tillerson saying all channels are open), so when Tillerson had a press conference, he obliviously stated that a meeting is a long-time coming

In addition to North Korea, Tillerson and Trump have other famous differing opinions. Fro example, in the blockade, Tillerson favored Qatar, while Trump favored Saudi Arabia and UAE. Tillerson favored punishing Russia (so does his replacement Pompeo) and of course just a day ago siding with the UK condemning Russia for the chemical agent assassination attempt, while Trump does not ever blame Russia for anything

So now, only 15 secretaries had served shorter tenures than Tillerson:

One died.

Ten were appointed near the end of a presidential administration.

One was appointed honorarily shortly before a transition.

Two left for other diplomatic positions.

Only one other left the position under duress - and he resigned, not fired (McLane resigned after Pres. Jackson declined to implement trade reprisals against the French after France did not uphold its treaty with the US)

The replacement with Pompeo illustrates that people believe Trump is looking more for enablers than advisers. Trump is renowned for not backing his Cabinet appointees but rather prefers in-fighting among his Cabinet, but that also means there'd be cabinet members go down and out, so no stability or continuity

His approval rating is higher than Obama's in year 2

Nope. Here's a tracker that tracks the aggregated data day-by-day of past Presidents:

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/

At Day 418, Trump is at 40.5% approval. At Day 418, Obama was at 48.7% approval.

One could also see how Trump compares to past Presidents G.W. Bush, Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, and Truman. Trump has been lower than all of them.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

If Tillerson is gone, Jeff Sessions is next ! Or John Kelly.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

great choice. as Tillerson was supposedly only selected because Russia demanded it, liberals shouldn’t have any problem with with this.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

Good riddance, Tillerson was way out of his depth and he was soft as hell on NK to the point of sympathizing.

With the important NK summit coming up, it would have been unacceptable for Tillerson to continue in his position due to his fawning over them, just like other swooning morons we have seen recently

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

@blacklael as Tillerson was supposedly only selected because Russia demanded it

Do you have a source for this, or is this just more rightist rabble-rabbling.

But thank you once again for keeping the Russia-Trump connection in the conversation. I don't know what country you're from, but most Americans probably do NOT want to see Russia or any other foreign power involved in US elections and politics, and the more attention given to the issue, the better.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

That writing has been on the twitter wall for months now. Who knows what's next? Just another day in the beltway, it seems.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Guy says Russia poisoned a former spy, the next day he gets canned. "No collusion."

cla68Today  07:12 am JST

Pompeo is an anti-globalist and a global warming skeptic so he is a great choice.

So he's an antiSemite and scientifically illiterate. He does sound like a good match for Trump.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

By the way, didn't Tillerson, Kelly and Mattis say they would all quit if one was fired ? The next few days promise to be interesting !

12 ( +12 / -0 )

You guys forget your talking points sooo quick., this was less than 2 weeks ago. Our buddy Christopher Steele wrote another memo that the media tried to push as “Russia collusion”

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/03/05/russia-blocked-trump-appointing-romney-secretary-state-unpublished/

that whole “narrative” kinda ruined now.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

@cla68akaburningbush Pompeo is an anti-globalist and a global warming skeptic so he is a great choice.

By anti-globalist do you mean an evangelical, therefore not closely associated with those labeled as being from the first Abrahamic religion? By global warming skeptic do you mean someone who favors increased power for hydrocarbon extractors and their nations?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Wonder how long it will take Mueller to schedule an interview with Tillerson?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

@blacklabe Lost in all of this is the first female CIA Director in history.

Good try at deflecting.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Katsu78

absolutely no collusion ...believe me.. that I can tell you!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@blackl Our buddy Christopher Steele wrote another memo that the media tried to push as “Russia collusion”

I read this from the link you provided*

“If what the source heard was true, then a foreign power was exercising pivotal influence over US foreign policy - and an incoming President”.

Is that what you were referring to?

But thanks again for keeping the Trump=Russia issue in the conversation. Most Americans I know don't want any Russian or any foreign intervention in US politics, with the possible exception of Trump backers.

And yes, I'm fully aware the US has long done worse.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

deflecting from what? That last week liberals were complaining Trump hired Putin buddy Tillerson to be easy on Russia?

but this week he supposedly fired him for being too tough and “speaking out” on Russia? Maybe this is obstruction too?! Where’s Mueller?

I’m glad CNN already posted the anti first female CIA talking points so that I can read along.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Tillerson was similar to Matthis, one of the few people in Trump's administration who were not complete idiots.

The problem for Tillerson is that he told Trump the truth and didn't fully support his lies.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@Bass

so I take it you would have no objection if a member of your family was waterboarded?

especially 80 times or more! I suppose you would believe that after the first time it became enjoyable?

:-/

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Thought it was bad form to be fired by receiving an email but at least at would come directly unlike being fired by a very public tweet without even being informed of losing the position. The Secretary of State is a very important position so Trump's Twitter firing lacks both dignity and respect for both the office, and the man.

Then he immediately fires the under Secretary of State.

The new director of the CIA oversaw the torture of terrorists at CIA black sights. That's not lost on me even if she's the first woman and maybe also torturer to be the director of the CIA. Hope she's up to date on the antics and meddling of the Russians.

Trump continues to treat the White House like The Apprentice.

Next will be H. R. McMaster followed by Kelly.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Pompeo is a Trump loyalist and Russian friendly, despite his public utterances. And Haspel is a torturer.

Trump still has plenty of empty spaces to fill as talks with the DPKR loom. Gosh only knows what Pompeo will be advising.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The scandals never seem to stop with trump and company and yet you still have people who worship the ground this Orange clueless MORON walks on.

I suspect they let Ben Carson perform brain surgery on them in a dimly lit basement with dull surgical instruments.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Just speculation on my part, but....

Were there really many disagreements? Sure, there were times when Tillerson said the opposite of Trump in public, but as we saw with he Iran deal and the NK deal Trump ultimately did what Tillerson was promoting. We agreed to talk to NK (when Trump was saying it was pointless) and we kept the Iran deal (when Trump said he would cancel it). What Trump said and what he did were opposites so you have to wonder if there really were strong disagreements behind the scenes.

My speculation is that Trump enjoys the chaos and attention his spontaneous hardline positions can generate, and Tiller would undercut him with his comparatively reasonable statements. What's the point of a threatening tweet towards North Korea when Tillerson would say that he is seeking dialogue? People probably looked to Tillerson more than Trump to see the real deal and Trump lost control of the message....even if he secretly agreed with Tillerson.

Was it Tillerson's statements about Russia? Perhaps it played a part, but who knows. We saw Tillerson getting in the way of Trump's rigorous defense of Putin/Russia and that doesn't help. Maybe by keeping Tillerson on, Trump felt there was a real danger of Putin getting angry. Trump has shown that an angry Putin is a situation that he wants to avoid at all costs regardless of what Russia does.

And finally, the timing is weird. Trump announces his talks with Kim as a major coup and that was because of Tillerson. And now Tillerson is fired. Again, maybe it's more about controlling the message than obtaining good results. With Tillerson gone then his efforts on NK will be forgotten and Trump can take the lead (credit). Heck, he can even pretend he was the one pulling Tillerson's strings.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Tillerson was similar to Matthis, one of the few people in Trump's administration who were not complete idiots.

Tillerson is a good man, but you can’t have a Secretary of State that is at odds with the commander in chief, Mattis is at times at odds with the President, but Tillerson often was completely out of touch with what was happening in Washington and often conveyed wrong messages both ways, the flow of information was slow and tedious, so Trump had him replaced, simple as that. He likes Mattis and can deal with any of his opposition on many issues, but SOS is different.

The problem for Tillerson is that he told Trump the truth and didn't fully support his lies.

Not lies, well, for liberals that want to see the work in a shade of pink perhaps, but it’s just Tillerson couldn’t cut it. Pompeo has the Presidents ear and that’s very important. No President can be with a SoS that is at constant odds.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

And finally, the timing is weird.

It probably has to do with the deadline on sanctions against Iran coming up in May. Maybe Trump also wanted to use that as leverage in the North Korean talks ?? It can't come as a huge surprise to anyone after the stupid remark, especially the lack of respect the president showed in the way he was fired.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump just wants people who follow orders but don't question but that's just what

dictators want do too.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

As stated in a different post....

This is beyond belief as apparently he fired this man without discussions beforehand and some are saying this was done by Twitter. He also fired one of his personal assistants who was escorted from the White House without having the chance to even get his coat.

This is not "Making America great again".

I have never liked Trump and I am not a big fan of Tillerson, however this shows something is deeply, deeply wrong within the administration, maybe more than people are speculating here or anywhere else. This is beyond dysfunctional. This is unheard of in U.S. politics.

I cannot imagine what our allies (and enemies) overseas must think of this.

I am completely at a loss....

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Despite making deals with corrupt foreign dictators for oil, it seems Tillerson draws the line where US lives may be directly involved. In other words, he just wasn't hawkish enough for Trump.

I think Trump knows his days are numbered, and he wants to start a conflict as soon as possible. A war will only help his efforts to stay in office.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Trump "With Mike, Mike Pompeo, we have a very similar thought process. I think it’s going to go very well."

Not sure if I should be grateful Pompeo is not at the CIA or if him being Sec. of State is worse.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Not lies, well, for liberals that want to see the work in a shade of pink perhaps, but it’s just Tillerson couldn’t cut it.

Tillerson couldn't stomach the idiot and made the mistake of calling Trump an idiot.

Tillerson also didn't believe Trump's lies on Iran.

I am no fan of Iran, but I would certainly trust Tillerson over lie for a living Trump.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The revolving doors at the White House make for interesting viewing but also highlights a precarious and clueless administration with a paranoid President at the helm. It's not inspiring and in the case of the latest appointments, kind of terrifying.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Then he immediately fires the under Secretary of State.

Zichi, that's because Steve Goldstein told the truth when he issued this State Department press release:

The Secretary had every intention of staying because of the critical progress made in national security. He will miss his colleagues at the Department of State and the foreign ministers he has worked with throughout the world.

The Secretary did not speak to the President and is unaware of the reason, but he is grateful for the opportunity to serve, and still believes strongly that public service is a noble calling.

Trump is at war with government. Perhaps some will find this to their liking - "draining the swamp" and all of that bunk - but those types are idiots. Tillerson was an atrocious SoS,; things will get worse. Exodus.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Rex Tillerson  is just the latest Trump raid kill and the president has headed to California for sanctuary.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

but it’s just Tillerson couldn’t cut it.

I was watching Hannity and friends and as usual they were blaming President Hillary for this mess.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

When Trump was elected a co-worker of mine predicted that he would fire his cabinet twice before his term was up.

He keeps reminding us of that.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The left seem to always confuse what a dictator is. If you are talking about Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Mussolini then you call that person a dictator, when you see or hear millions of people being murdered in the streets and national law imposed and people jailed, then you can call the person a dictator.

deflecting from what? That last week liberals were complaining Trump hired Putin buddy Tillerson to be easy on Russia?

It would make them feel better.

but this week he supposedly fired him for being too tough and “speaking out” on Russia? Maybe this is obstruction too?! Where’s Mueller?

I’m glad CNN already posted the anti first female CIA talking points so that I can read along.

What else would you expect from CNN? The truth?

I was watching Hannity and friends and as usual they were blaming President Hillary for this mess.

I watched it as well and they were blaming her for something totally different.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Maybe you should try to figure out what it is that defines a dictator, before trying to tell us we don't know, while at the exact same time proving you don't know.

Naw bruh, just laying it out. Not my fault.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

The left seem to always confuse what a dictator is

No confusion. Dictator is a person who behaves in an autocratic way

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The revolving doors at the White House make for interesting viewing but also highlights a precarious and clueless administration with a paranoid President at the helm. It's not inspiring and in the case of the latest appointments, kind of terrifying.

No Chaos at the WH, per lying and/or delusional Drumph.

The left seem to always confuse what a dictator is

The Despot's Apprentice.

Trump doesn't have the full creds to be a dictator. Pres. Xi has him beat on some many levels. It doesn't mean he isn't trying.

Donald Trump is an instinctual authoritarian. He is also a deeply angry, petty, and vindictive human being (or, in scientific terms, “an arsehole”).

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Tillerson was not a good fit for this administration. He was:

a pro-global warming apologist;

was against having our embassy moved to Jerusalem;

supported the horrendous Iranian nuke deal;

was against the upcoming meeting with North Korea

President Trump’s decision to promote Mike Pompeo to secretary of state is a huge step in the right direction. It means that we will have in the top foreign policy job a person who graduated first in his class at West Point, served as an Army officer in Europe, soared in law school, mastered politics in Congress, has run the Central Intelligence Agency and most importantly agrees with our president on the above stated issues.

Yet another great move on the U.S. political chess board by our president.

Keep America Great!

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

It's not being a dictator it is more like micromanaging. The only people who are not expendable are the elected ones. The economy, ridding of illegal aliens and overall administration is doing great. Aside from the President and Vice-President they are all expendable.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Sure, Tillerson was horrible. They should fire the guy who picked him in the first place.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The left seem to always confuse what a dictator is. If you are talking about Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Mussolini then you call that person a dictator, when you see or hear millions of people being murdered in the streets and national law imposed and people jailed, then you can call the person a dictator.

I agree Trump isn’t a dictator. I just wonder why you called Obama a dictator according to your own definition. Doesn’t make sense.

Trump is running a circus, not a despotic regime.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Like I said, war is coming before summer. Start preparing for what you are going to do in light of that fact.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

When Tillerson was appointed by Trump to be Secretary of State, many people thought he doesn't have the background as an Exxon CEO multimillionaire to be a diplomat

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I watched Tillerson's goodbye press conference on C-SPAN a little while ago. He emphasized the need of co-operation between countries in all areas. A rather odd thing to say considering President Trump is focused on is re-establishing reciprocal trade deals with nations that for decades have been one-sided against us. It appeared he doesn't support our president's approach.

On the strength of that press conference alone, it looks like President Trump telling Tillerson to take a hike was the correct move. Again. . . .

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

A rather odd thing to say considering President Trump is focused on is re-establishing reciprocal trade deals with nations that for decades have been one-sided against us

No they haven’t. You’ve just bought the lies.

basically telling a segment of our nation you are inferior.

The religious gun nuts ARE inferior.

Truth hurts.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Rex was disappointing. He had to be replaced.

"Just another day in the Trump circus"

It's gonna be a long seven years for you, heh he

Why did Trump fire Tillerson?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

The religious gun nuts ARE inferior.

Truth hurts.

Many think the same about the so called educated, elitist liberals. ROFL

That truth makes me smile.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

educated, elitist liberals. ROFL

Damn those liberals and their education! I just wanna be dumb!

6 ( +7 / -1 )

He deserves this, an amateur of politics or diplomacy shouldnt sit that post! I think he said 'He' believes UK's investigation of the nerve gas conspiracy was Russian did that! 'He' dont represent his boss to lash out this accusation! Time to go...Mr.Tillerson!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I thought a dictator was someone who wrote a lot of executive orders. Even if "a lot" is defined as less than the Republican president before him.

https://newrepublic.com/article/120347/obama-anything-president-tyrant-dictator-and-king

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Mike Pompeo has voiced his support for torture. Pompeo criticised the administration of former president Barack Obama for closing "black sites" - secret prisons used to interrogate suspects overseas - and the requirement for interrogators to adhere to anti-torture laws.

Trump's new CIA chief Gina Haspel oversaw horrific tortures at an American government site in Thailand. Torture included repeated slamming into walls by the head, incarceration in coffin-like boxes and in one man's case, 83 waterboardings in one month.

CIA videos of the torture were destroyed on the orders of a cable drafted by Haspel.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Like I said, war is coming before summer.

Signs certainly aren't good. Heard Trump is considering John Bolton (the walrus-mustached maniac, not the mellow musician) to replace McMasters. (Bolton was once all for nuking the North, is now all over TV praising Trump's genius in "accepting" talks, but will revert to true form when the talks inevitably fail - or never happen at all.)

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Still, I do like the fact that Tillerson called Trump a moron. One of the few statements to come out of the administration that isn't a lie.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The CHAOS and DISARRAY build and build! 62 million Americans voted for this!!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Many think the same about the so called educated, elitist liberals. ROFL

You know who else were the most educated and elite of their times? The founding fathers.

He deserves this, an amateur of politics or diplomacy shouldnt sit that post!

Dude... Trump's only real success was a reality TV show. Are you guys really unaware of the irony in your own statements, or have you bought into the Trump University business success claims?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

You know who else were the most educated and elite of their times? The founding fathers.

Yep. Can you imagine what these highly educated, sophisticated scholars would have made of a Trump rally?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"I'll choose the best people for my administration."

--Donald Trump, 2016

"My father values talent. He recognizes real knowledge and skill when he finds it . . . He hires the best person for the job, period."

--Ivanka Trump, 2016

What about these "best people"? Rex Tillerson, Gary Cohn, John McEntree, Hope Hicks, Omarosa Manigault, Tom Price, Steve Bannon, Anthony Scaramucci, Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, Michael Flynn, Sebastian Gorka, Rob Porter.

You'd think the best people would last a little longer, especially with a president who's, like, a smart person.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Two weeks ago Exxon announced that they were withdrawing from the Tillerson brokered deal with Russia due to the likelihood that sanctions have killed the deal for good. Yesterday Tillerson publicly agreed with Theresa May's conclusion that Russia has been poisoning political dissidents in Britain. Pompeo as CIA chief has stated publicly that Russia meddled in our elections. Tillerson is fired today and Pompeo is pulled out of the CIA and under trump's wing, where he can no longer investigate Russia. Too much coincidence for me.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Mr.Tillerson blamed Russia was behind the UK Salisbury nerve assassination of a Russian defector and his daughter! That was why he pissed mad his boss and that's why he must go!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Dude... Trump's only real success was a reality TV show.

Yes, it is a fact.

Liberal Elite Hollywood Producers created the Trump brand. The Trump was crap after his many bankruptcies, and Trump was doing nothing of note.

Of course, too many of the people who watched reality TV couldn't tell it wasn't reality, and too many of those clueless people voted.

They elected a TV character as the president and didn't know he is really a buffoon.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

What is possibly most disturbing about all this reshuffle is the nomination of Gina Haspel to head the CIA. In 2002 she ran the CIA's black site in Thailand where she personally oversaw the repeated torture of Abu Zubayda (who in any case turned out not to produce any intel of value) and others. In 2005 she played a central role in destroying the video evidence of this torture.

Trump appointed her as deputy last year and is giving her the top position now. And he's giving SOS to Pompeo, a military hawk who doesn't seem too interested in the art of diplomacy. Scary stuff.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You'd think the best people would last a little longer, especially with a president who's, like, a smart person.

He's not just a smart person, he's a self-proclaimed 'stable genius'!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I wonder how the deep state convinced Tillerson to turn against his buddy Putin?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Careful expressing support for any new Cabinet member nowadays - they may be dismissed just months from now

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"Who are these "best people? ... Sean Spicer... "

Ya can't dice the Spice!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The ONLY truth the WH has said about this so far (and they clearly lied about letting Tillerson know before the Tweet did), is when Trump said, "He'll be happier after leaving the WH." We already know that's been the case for most fired or whom have left so far. Spicer is a hell of a lot healthier, and far more respected. Of course, some who were forced out in disgrace are on their way to prison for a very, VERY long time (Manafort, for example).

I've heard Kelly and McMaster are about to quit.

And if none of this is proof to the people still defending Trump, the GOP just lost Pennsylvania, in another "endorsement" of the president. The Trumpers will deny it's a sign, just as bass4funk has said with the "wake me up when it's a red state and I'll be interested" and the like several times already when a red state has been lost, but they'll deny their own mothers' existence if Trump asks them to.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Civitas, Victor Cha - Trump’spick for ambassador to South Korea until he expressed opposition to a preemptive strike on Pyongyang - wrote an op-ed for the NYT today with an eminently logical and extremely frightening conclusion:

Everyone should be aware that this dramatic act of diplomacy by these two unusual leaders, who love flair and drama, may also take us closer to war. Failed negotiations at the summit level leave all parties with no other recourse for diplomacy. In which case, as Mr. Trump has said, we really will have “run out of road” on North Korea.

That's why there is usually an order to these things. If underlings negotiating reach loggerheads, nothing is lost - try again next time. But if the leaders - particularly these two volatile, unpredictable leaders - fail, all bets are off.

One reason why it might be best the summit is never held to begin with.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

yeah the Dems ran a young, straight, white male who is pro-life, pro-military, pro-law enforcement, anti- Nancy Pelosi, not for new gun control and not outwardly anti-Trump. Thats more Republican that some Republicans. But yeah, the blue wave is coming again! Just like the day before Texas elections. or whatever....

As far as Tillerson, Nancy Pelosi proves it all:

Pre confirmation: Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson's "coziness" with Russian President Vladimir Putin disqualifies him for the job of secretary of state, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Tuesday.

Now: "Secretary Tillerson’s firing sets a profoundly disturbing precedent in which standing up for our allies against Russian aggression is grounds for a humiliating dismissal," Pelosi wrote. "President Trump’s actions show that every official in his Administration is at the mercy of his personal whims and his worship of Putin."

yeah, the blue wave is coming again! Just like the day before Texas elections. or whatever....

Weren't we supposed to "talk to you" after the paedo you supported lost the election in Alabama?

I'd be far more concerned about the Stormy Daniels texts and vids that have yet to emerge if I were a paid Trump supporter from Saint Petersburg. And then there's that crazy FBI guy too.

Pretty chilling warning from old Rex about Russia btw. No wonder the knives are out....

3 ( +4 / -1 )

last week liberals were complaining Trump hired Putin buddy Tillerson to be easy on Russia?

but this week he supposedly fired him for being too tough and “speaking out” on Russia?

No inconsistency at all. Putin allegedly blocked Romney and requested Tillerson as a more pro-Russian SoS. When Tillerson told an obvious truth about Russia's involvement in the poisoning in the UK, he no longer fitted the bill as Kremlin stooge, and so his position was weakened. Trump then dutifully fired him.

Not saying it worked out like that, but it would be perfectly logical if it had.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Thats some serious spin there. Why would Tillerson throw away a lifetime of supposed coziness with Putin over one incident in the UK? but ok whatever the narrative is today.

Oh yeah Stormy Daniels the most important scandal of our lifetimes, been on CNN.com main page for like 2 weeks straight now. I hope she makes so much money off the idiotic press who keep covering her and helping her to resurrect her "dancing career".

CNN says she is even more important now than "Russia", which proves how insignificant the Russia investigation was and always has been. And Roy Moore, wow, so what happened to all those accusers? Disappeared the day after he lost....never to be heard from again....hmmmm...almost like their purpose was complete at that moment or something.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump is too stupid to understand how things look.

Right now, they look pretty bad when he fires someone respected after making comments against Russia and in support of a long time ally.

Sure, Trump said that he stands with the UK, but he didn't condemn Russia for a slew of murders in the UK or hold them accountable in any way. He'll probably take Russia's side before it is all over.

It makes Trump look even more complicit and Putin's man in the WH. Or Russia has komprimat hanging over his head that will hurt him and his in many ways.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

not for new gun control

What's wrong with new gun control?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Why would Tillerson throw away a lifetime of supposed coziness with Putin over one incident in the UK?

Simple

Tillerson has compunction.

Trump has no compunction.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Disappeared the day after he lost....never to be heard from again

WRONG! He's still being sued. He's asking for donations for legal expenses.

I hope she makes so much money

That's a nice thing to say. It's always good to wish for someone's success.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

CNN says she is even more important now than "Russia"

Interesting. Hannity and Friends say the same thing about President Hillary and Hannity really emphasizes how she is a much bigger fish to fry than the Russia scandal. But Trump still won't lock her up. It's all Trump's fault.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

CNN says she is even more important now than "Russia", which proves how insignificant the Russia investigation was and always has been. And Roy Moore, wow, so what happened to all those accusers? Disappeared the day after he lost....

One had her house burnt down FYI. But it's a little too late to be worried about the victims of your padeo candidate Roy Moore being forgotten by the MSM. If you had an honest bone in you I'd agree the media aren't doing their jobs properly in covering Trump's awful man from Alabama now he's been flushed into the toilet of history.

But I digress. Trump fired Tillerson because he had the balls to speak the truth about the recent Russian state terrorist attack in the UK. This is the story you need to concentrate on. There's a good few days of Denial for you in it.

The Stormy porn show and the Mueller investigation are going to play out between here and November. Enjoy. Nastrovia even.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

WRONG! He's still being sued. He's asking for donations for legal expenses.

Blacklabel is constantly posting the question 'then why isn't X still happening', without actually researching whether or not it happened.

Maybe the internet in Russia is just too slow for him to bother to fact check himself.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I hope she makes so much money off the idiotic press who keep covering her and helping her to resurrect her "dancing career".

Whose telling you she's in a dancing career? Her Twitter profile lists her as a XXX film star and a Penthouse Pet. Why is someone telling you she's a dancer?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

a consensual relationship with a stripper in 2006

Trump denies it. You acknowledge the president is a liar, then. Good to know.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Thats some serious spin there.

No spin. You were trying to demonstrate inconsistency between two alleged positions of 'liberals'. I was just pointing out that they are in fact totally consistent.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump really, really wanted Sen. Tom Cotton (R, AK) as CIA director. Two theories as to why that didn't happen.

Saccone's loss, the strong possibility of which has been evident for some time, makes Trump hesitant to leave an open senate seat even in conservative Arkansas. (Look what happened to Session's vacated seat in even more conservative Georgia.)

Cotton declined, either as he has his eye on 2020 (!) or because he does not want to taint himself with close association with this corrupt, dysfunctional, failing administration.

Blacklable, Lamb is more conservative than urban-area Dems, but the Dem party has a big tent. Despite appearances by Mike Pence, Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Trump himself - twice! - and the fact that the RNC and affiliated groups spent over $9 million on Saccone, while less than $1 million was spent on Lamb - and that ads about the Repub's tax travesty law fell so flat they eventually stopped talking about it - should have the Repubs panicking. This could be the year of the resurgence of the Blue Dog Dem.

According to whom?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Cry about Obfuscate all you want. You trying to sell us that Rex was fired because Putin told Trump to do it? Prove it? Rex is Putin’s puppet, or forgot your talking points?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Don't take my word for it. Take Rex's:

"Much work remains to respond to the troubling behaviour and actions on the part of the Russian government.

"Russia must assess carefully as to how its actions are in the best interest of the Russian people and of the world more broadly. Continuing on their current trajectory is likely to lead to greater isolation on their part, a situation which is not in anyone's interest."

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43391982

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So Rex basically told Russia to be nicer to countries of the world or some of them might isolate Russia. So this statement is supposed to be evidence of......?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Trump = dead man walking

"BlacklabelToday  07:27 pm JST

You have Rex's quote on Russia's shocking behaviour above. That you choose to be obtuse doesn't surprise me.

Tillerson sent a parting shot about Russia. The best however, is yet to come....

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Tokyo Engr

This is beyond belief as apparently he fired this man without discussions beforehand and some are saying this was done by Twitter.

Hand-wringing blather.

For any thinking person who witnessed Trump's behaviour during the campaign, and who was aware of his excesses in the years leading up to the campaign, this sort of thing is not only believable but inevitable.

What specifically was it during the campaign that made you imagine he might not have total disregard for courtesy, etiquette, and protocol; in short, that he wouldn't crap on the people who work with him?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Trump = dead man walking

Yeah, been hearing that for over 35 years.

What specifically was it during the campaign that made you imagine he might not have total disregard for courtesy, etiquette, and protocol; in short, that he wouldn't crap on the people who work with him?

So in order to appease the left he should stick to the people that don’t want to follow his agenda? How stupid is that? What you guys imagine as to how WH staff should interact with a President is astounding.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The source also believes the controversy potentially poses a bigger threat to Trump's presidency than Russia.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Tillerson couldn't stomach the idiot and made the mistake of calling Trump an idiot.

Funny, Tillerson wanted to stay, he didn’t know he was going to get axed.

Tillerson also didn't believe Trump's lies on Iran.

If anyone lied, it was that horrendous deal that was put together with a sunset clause by the last administration.

I am no fan of Iran, but I would certainly trust Tillerson over lie for a living Trump.

Not me and anyway, Pompeo will be a better, less Lurch like SoS. Good on Trump.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

If anyone lied, it was that horrendous deal that was put together with a sunset clause by the last administration.

Every deal has a sunset clause. The right wing media just reported it as something new when Obama did it so now bubble dwellers go around saying it's something new.

Besides, we all know the "anger" at this deal was just an election tactic by the GOP to scare their base. When the GOP got a hold of the White House and Congress they kept the deal in place. That's all you really need to know, yet you are still angry. Not my problem.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Every deal has a sunset clause.

Shouldn’t be for a nuke deal with the largest sponsor of terrorism. Anyway, Trump might change it, so it’s good Pompeo is now at the helm of SoS.

The right wing media just reported it as something new when Obama did it so now bubble dwellers go around saying it's something new.

Oh, here we go.....

Because it was a bad deal. I know liberals think adversaries and terrorist are our friends...well, their friends anyway, but if this does continue, expect all the Arab States to Nuke up and even Egypt and the Saudis are aligning themselves with Israel to make sure Iran doesn’t get their hands on a nuke, because if they do, that country will be vaporized.

Besides, we all know the "anger" at this deal was just an election tactic by the GOP to scare their base.

Hillary scared the base, in fact, she scared the majority of married women.

When the GOP got a hold of the White House and Congress they kept the deal in place. That's all you really need to know, yet you are still angry. Not my problem.

I’m not angry, Pompeo is in da house and they both don’t like this deal, so I’m cool, bruh.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The GOP candidates said they would tear up the agreement. They won the election, and they kept the agreement in place. If they are keeping a deal that you think is bad, your issue is with them, not with us.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So in order to appease the left he should stick to the people that don’t want to follow his agenda?

Now where did I say that? No that's right, I didn't. That's because I don't actually care whether Tillerson is fired or not - much the way I feel about all others who voluntarily joined the Trump administration.

How stupid is that?

That's for you to decide. You quoted my comment, concocted a phony interpretation, and then attacked your strawman version as stupid. If you care to ask me whether I share the view you have attacked, I can tell you: I don't. They're your words, and even if I removed the political spin you've used for effect, they'd still be your words, and I still wouldn't share that view. As I said above, I don't care whether Tillerson or other members of the administration are fired.

Meanwhile, my earlier post - and the actual point it made - remains in plain English, and doesn't require your dry humping to make it comprehensible to people capable of reading.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Ok. So Trump keeps the deal he doesnt like. Looks like the Dems made him bend the knee.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Ok. So Trump keeps the deal he doesnt like. Looks like the Dems made him bend the knee.

Flip-floppy Trump, weak as always.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Ok. So Trump keeps the deal he doesnt like.

Until he can change it if the Iranians continue to further violate the terms of this disastrous deal.

Looks like the Dems made him bend the knee.

No, it looks like the Dems just made a haste bad deal altogether.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The Iranian nuclear deal isn't an American one, it's a deal agreed by a group of countries which includes America. If America no longer recognizes the agreement then the remaining countries still will.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Bass4funk/Blacklabel. Till,s knew when the Exon/Mobile Russian oil Trillion $ deal was caned 10 days ago by Exon/Mobile that is days numbered. Then is old mate General Jackass told him a week ago that Puppet Trump was told by Putin to replace Tills. You see Russian have veto on who is made head of the state Dept under the trump admin . Puppet Trump is a dead man walking. A CIA bullet with his name on it is going to split is head like a ripe melon. I say it will happen on the eve of 2020 election. By the way are you two Russians ?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

0 ( +0 / -0 )

1 ( +1 / -0 )

bass: Until he can change it if the Iranians continue to further

Not sure what that means, but OK.

As long as Trump bows to our demands to keep the horrible deal that helps Iran, he can say what he likes. So can you.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's snowy and cold in Eastern USA but school children are marching toward DC with slogans Safety in School, etc.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

There was a PA election. The republican congressman resigned after he tried her girlfriend abortion. Trump went to support. a Republican candidate but Dem candidate won.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

As long as Trump bows to our demands to keep the horrible deal that helps Iran, he can say what he likes. So can you.

Ahhhh, he probably won’t, you know how he hates to listen to people.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

There will be confirmation hearing. his introgation method is an issue. There will be a. new CIA. Chief woman who will. be also interviewed. She. alsooo supervise same. Introgation process. The process is unique and named Toorture interrogation.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

There will be more firing. USA news circuit guess Kerry and a general who is going to lose pension. Sara Sanders was scolded because she did not cover Stormy Daniel story well. Then Economic experts who did not agree tariff scheme.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

More idiocy from Trump. More of his idiot cheerleaders defending him. I see a pattern of idiocy developing here.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Ahhhh, he probably won’t, you know how he hates to listen to people

Yes, we do know how Trump hates to listen. That's why he's a trainwreck of a president. It's not rocket surgery. Or, maybe it is if your an ignorant, barely literate, uneducated Trump supporter.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He is? Liberal translation, he’s doing better than good.

Yes, the Dems are smart, the party that can’t retain majorities, interesting.

I like that “A seat” as opposed to “seats” about 1000 of them they lost since the Reconstruction Period.

at this rate i think Trump seems to think he behaves like some company promoter, and his approaches are not democratic at all that can't give any peace of life for Americans is very very obvious. People can recall him or he needs to seek referendum on his presidency, as native indians - obvious real Americans earliest settlers made clear to Jefferson and Adams that they would need recall, and referendum in the constitution else they will not back declaration of independence, when so how congress today play in trump's hands not understandable. the congress can say 'behave' to Mr Trump, else we will invoke Art 25, why they don't? if this continues this gentle man might even dismiss generals as if he is the real commander in chief not realizing some titular head of military forces, if that happens what kind of fate waits for US one needs to think, he is not thinking man is obvious when he undo so many things earlier government made, if every government drastically changes do we call governance ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If this ain't an obstruction of justice then what is it? Trump IS a Russian puppet and the connections are getting more clear and explicit every day. I barely remember Watergate as a kid but this is much worse than anything Nixon ever pulled off or hoped to. And Clinton got impeached for doing the same stupid things that most Congressmen do. That scenario only showed how mature may people in America really are. It was a sham. What Trump's doing is a clear Constitutional crisis and much worse than anything America has ever faced before.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Time to fire Donald trump.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

can not accept criticism and face his true self - moron.
