It is beyond comprehension the statement made by the current occupant of the White House.

Just another example of why he is not fit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).

That was an incompetent version of the tweet. The last paragraph reads (emphasis mine):

....Chariman Kim has a great and beautiful vision for his country, and only the United States, with me as President, can make that vision come true. He will do the right thing because he is far too smart not to, and he does not want to disappoint his friend, President Trump!

Two takes:

He's really angling to get the Noble,;

He is unable to discuss any topic without making himself the centre.

the potential as a Country, under Kim Jong Un's leadership, is unlimited."

Given Trump cares first and foremost for his and his syndicate's wealth, when he referred to 'potential' he must have meant potential for Ivanka Inc. and the Trump brand to further expand.

Trump wishes he were treated by his people the way North Korea’s Kim Jong Un is

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-said-he-wishes-his-people-would-respond-to-him-like-north-koreas-kim-2018-06-15

The above words must thrill the alt right (US and 'foreign') who want to see the US fully under right wing authoritarianism.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

"There may be a United Nations violation, but Chairman Kim does not want to disappoint me with a violation of trust," Trump tweeted. "There is far too much for North Korea to gain - the potential as a Country, under Kim Jong Un's leadership, is unlimited."

"He will do the right thing because he is far too smart not to, and he does not want to disappoint his friend, President Trump!"

Remember when President Obama said he would be ready to talk with the North Koreans ?

Republicans and their fans were beyond outraged.

But Trump writing that is no problem. No double standard here...

11 ( +11 / -0 )

It's amazing that Trump is better at creating motivation in North Korea, than he is at motivating half of his own country/people.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

And while trump praises Kim, his closest allies in E.Asia are in a dispute that has no end in sight. Great diplomacy.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

He is destabilizing the region and I desperately hope the status quo and be restored to some degree because he might end up being siginificantly responsible for the rise of China in the region and the fall of freedom and democracy for many..

5 ( +5 / -0 )

LOL!

For the first time in over a 100 years, a US president hasn't been called or considered "The Leader of the Free World".

Another great accomplish for the the current idiot in the WH, but hey, Berlusconi is proud of him!

Remember when President Obama said he would be ready to talk with the North Koreans ?

Republicans and their fans were beyond outraged.

Fox News phrased it as Obama being a traitor to dictators.

Contrast with Fox and the Moron Crew's stance on Trump's love letters with North Korea.

Let's not even try to pretend they care about what is right and wrong. They care about hating everyone that is not them, and supporting anything that is them. Then they whine about people criticizing his Orangeness.

The friggin missile tests did not "rattle the region", and Trump has achieved more in regards to finding a way out of the NK dilemma than all the neocon/neolib presidents before him.

But of course, in the world of the CNN bubble, it is all orange man bad. Every, non-stop. I am watching CNN as entertainment, but seeing that some commentators here gobble up this propaganda is sort of mind-boggling...

@WilliB

What has changed since Dump? North Korea is still nuclear and firing projectiles randomly in the region!

What are you referring to? The photo opportunities for two fat leaders who have been proven liars. Didn't Clinton actually rescue NK detainees?

What has Dump done?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Trump has achieved more i

Photo-ops? Or are you referring to how Trump's helping Xi and Putin achieve their quest to have greater control over the Korean Peninsula.

But of course, in the world of the CNN bubble

Thanks for keeping those of us who don't watch CNN up to speed. I'm going to assume your doing that, watching CNN, must be part of your job assignment. Given your knowledge of CNN, do you think it provides a perspective opposite from RT, the Putin outlet Internet Research Agencies employees and others in the global alt right have. If so, what would a 'fair and balanced' outlet be.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Trump is amazing. He loves causing issues. The entire world disagrees with North Korea and their missle developments. Even their biggest ally in China doesn't agree with it. Leave it to Trump to completely go against the grain. I am starting to think he only wants to drag people apart.

@WilliB

The friggin missile tests did not "rattle the region"

The missle test did cause issues with the region. Even China publicly condemned the missle launch and asked the US and everyone come back to the table to discuss the issue. When China, Japan, and South Korea people tend to see that as a very big part of the region.

Trump has achieved more in regards to finding a way out of the NK dilemma than all the neocon/neolib presidents before him.

Please tell me what he has actually done other than piggyback off of the South Korea's President's achievement? Something factual. The only time he actually did something was sit down to discuss it and that sit down didn't go well because the remainder of the summit was quickly canceled and they went their separate ways.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

personal diplomacy

Zero progress.

@WilliB,

Exactly right.

Bingo! Spot on...

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Can you imagine a Corey Booker or a Bill deBlasio or kamala Harris trying to reel in Kim Jong Un? They can't even stop the daily missiles--aka, gunshots--in their own back yards.

What has Donny done to reel in Kim?

Crickets . . .

Bingo! Spot on...

When a statement lacks any relation to reality, it most definitely is not spot on or a bingo.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

So what have the radical Republicans and their alt right minions have done positively for the people of North Korea?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump has attacked almost anyone except Putin, Stormy Daniels, and Kim Jong Un.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Is ( it ) the Art of the deal or 8d chess...

It's 4D chess. You should know this by now.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

It's 4D chess. You should know this by now.

Yeah, cause 4-D chess exists. Further evidence of how untethered from reality Trumpologists are.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

What has Donny done to reel in Kim?

Crickets . . .

And Democrats idea would be to....

When a statement lacks any relation to reality,

No, it’s reality, but liberals as usual want to make their lack of ideas and nitpicking and sniping at this President with zero solutions a good thing.

it most definitely is not spot on or a bingo

Well, you might not see it like that, but we do.

So what have the radical Republicans and their alt right minions have done positively for the people of North Korea?

In order to do that would be appeasing Kim, that is exactly what he wants, the people woo never get it, never. Of course the military get first priority and there is no way we would give Kim that request of justification. If he denuclearizes then it would seem more realistic to do something humanitarian for the country, but until Kim makes the serious move to denuke then nothing we can do or should do.

As Trump and his supporters point out, CNN’s ratings are terrible and few people watch it. The only people here who talk about it are Trump supporters and then often go on to post links to its equivalent on the right - Fox News.

I think you are projecting your own habit of swallowing nonsense from the fake news MSM.

Now, can you tell us what Trump has achieved on NK apart from photo ops?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

One of them just recently said he proved that I was watching CNN because I used wording similar to one of their personalities that I've never heard of - primarily because I don't watch CNN. But that poster watches it enough to recognize specific CNN personalitys' mannerisms.

Ironic.

U.S. President Donald Trump bestowed praise Friday on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un following a flurry of short-range missile tests that rattled the region and lowered expectations for the resumption of nuclear talks between Washington and Pyongyang.

Mr President, we have evidence Putin is going to expand his sweeping and systemic attack on our election in 2020...

Trump: "My bro Vlad, what a great guy"....

Mr President, Al Assad of Syria just gassed more of his own people to include children...

Trump: "Bashar, he's such a cut-up"....

Mr President, the Mullahs in Iran are going to bomb various cities in Europe....

Trump: "My pals the Mullahs - they like Stormy Daniels too you know"....

Mr President, President Macron from France in on the line....

Trump: "He's a loud mouth - tell him I'm out".....

6 ( +6 / -0 )

he does not want to disappoint his friend, President Trump!

What a schmuck. Trump believes leaders of other countries are as simple minded as himself.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

It wasn't a projectile. It was a bottle-rocket.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The master at work ! Trump wants NK to be strong so that he can bend Japan to tilt more towards the US defense thinking. This will push Japan take a more active defense role that the US has always hoped for.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Keep at it Kim, one of the few people to stand up to the US. NK should consider denuclearization when the US denuclearizes. No nation needs US approval to have effective self defence system against US aggression. Didn't the US just pull out of its nuclear agreement with Russia? And did the US seek global approval to withdraw from the agreement?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

so one missile test hes cally Kim little rocket man and threatened to annihilate NK, next test he is praising the guy even if it may be against UN resolution. this guy got more backflips than a gymnast, or maybe its that famous 4D chess we all hear so much about. the best part is all the Trumpsters pathetic excuses they continue to make up for this stable genius erratic behaviour

if your being sarcastic then thats a good one. if your being serious, LOL sorry but Trump just isnt smart enough to envision this type of reverse psychology, and does he really think anybody would fall for it.

This bloated, pampered wannabe autocrat is a stain on American history. It's outstanding how insecure he is that he has to talk about himself in the third person, using his official title. Look at how he loves sitting behind the Resolute desk: it makes him feel like a big boy.

"There may be a United Nations violation, but Chairman Kim does not want to disappoint me with a violation of trust,"

Pathetic. "Look at me, look at me, I'm the boss!"

How anyone who loves America can even consider this man-child fit for office baffles me.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump praising the leader of an enemy of American while at war is treason.

What a bunch of Bull! If that were the case, you can make a treasonous claim about Hillary, Holder, Rice for really serious crimes. Praising someone doesn’t make you treasonous, if so, the entire Democrat party loyal to the socialists should be a treasonous act. You guys are just amazing....

North Korea is an enemy of America and the Korean War has never ended.

No and that doesn’t mean the POTUS cannot try and start a dialogue with an adversary or if you can show me where it States he can’t. Take you time.

Even presidents are not above the law

...or any politician for that matter.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

if so, the entire Democrat party loyal to the socialists should be a treasonous act

LMAO

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The sound of the knee-jerks on here are deafening.

The power of the MSM compels you!

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Treason is the only crime mentioned in the constitution.

Giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the country during war is treason.

Kim is not taking refuge in the US or it’s territories.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

And Democrats idea would be to....

Donny's approach, minus the capitulation and appeasement.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The sound of the knee-jerks on here are deafening.

Controlled explosions?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The sound of the knee-jerks on here are deafening.

Too right. All those facts requiring sound logical thinking to process correctly. Gives me a headache every time.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

jimizo: too freaking funny!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

and according to the laws of treason he does not have to be because he isn't the one commiting treason

Neither is Trump or if you want to play that lame card, then we need to round up Obama, Clinton, Holder and Rice, either we apply the same standards of treason to all o4 none.

but may be Trump does by praising an enemy of the state in a time of war.

Why not? Or you want to see him saber rattle? No, because then he would be a warmonger. So deal with this, y’all will be ok.

Donny's approach,

Great!

minus the capitulation and appeasement

Impossible, they’ve done that since 1979, as well as for the last 8 years...lol....no, but seriously what would they do?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Impossible, they’ve done that since 1979, as well as for the last 8 years...lol....no, but seriously what would they do?

What Donny is doing minus the photo ops, suspending Foal Eagle and Key Resolve, etc.

Wasn't my post clear?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

And provide sanctions relief by cancelling the sanctions Treasury was implementing.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Zero progress.

Too bad Obama couldn't make any progress during his eight years. Trump's already stepped into NK to make history and he still has five and a half years left. Still no NK missiles flying over Japan either. That's not zero progress.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Drop progress under Obama does not excuse zero progress under Donny.

What date did you unilaterally decide to start counting from?
