This situation is becoming more and more precarious and all because Donny acted before he thought.

Is there any conclusive evidence that Iran was responsible? I don't want to see another Iraq situation here. Remember the elusive WMDs?

trump is a dangerous moron, he started this and doesn't have a plan to put the genie back in the bottle. He has an inflated ego, is intellectually lazy, doesn't read, and doesn't listen to people who know more than he does; a recipe for disaster.

Iran is really trying to stir the pot again, they just can’t help themselves.

Now, I'm old enough to remember when the US blamed Iran for Saddam's gassing of the 'Marsh Arabs' (claiming that there was no evidence Saddam did it) so maybe I have an advantage over those younger than me, who's first encounter of American ridiculous claims were there claims that the Sandinista government of Nicaragua was trafficking drugs ( it wasn't, but the violent terrorists it was backing in Nicaragua was, as was the neighboring, US friendly regime, and the US government itself) into America.

And more of an advantage over those younger who's first encounter was the 'babies ripped from incubators'

And more of an advantage over those younger who's first encounter was the 'mobile WMD labs'

And more of an advantage over those younger who's first encounter was the 'rigged reelection of Ahmadinejad'

And more of an advantage over those younger who's first encounter were the 'peaceful protesters in Syria'

But my point is that if you're old enough to be reading the news, you'll have encountered at least one, and likely too many to count, cases of the US insisting that what it is saying is the unquestionable truth despite their lack of evidence, while having the evidence that proves their claim is a lie in their briefcase.

Who believes anything the U.S. government says anymore?

My. We are always ready to help the Saudi's aren't we? Makes me wonder how much of this is for the coming election.

This is the titanic clash between Sunni and Shia. No one has clean hands in this.

Love how you absolve Donny of any responsibility.

The GCC do not need US and or NATO interference to handle this situation really. They know in which direction the 19 point attack came from. But International commitment not just the US is not a bad thing.

@bass4funk

Iran is not stirring the pot, it's a defensive move and IMHO it worked for Iran.

Ned Flanders (Bolton) is gone, mr 'Maximum' pressure, that's right forceful diplomacy is gone, out the window.

That leaves two options left, the Dems prefers negotiation (Trump would never do this obviously), the Reps hawks prefer the military option. BUT, the military option requires oil supply to be shored up and stable (because war is going to disrupt supply). It's not shored up any more, nor is it stable.

Bolton has proven himself to be a deek, he shouldn't have stopped Trump from launching a strike back a few weeks ago, now there are less and less options to deal with Iran, even if Trump can get wide support.

Oil futures is up 15%, meaning people thinks the Saudis won't be able to restore supply quickly. In the mean time, Iran is saying it has weapons grade plutonium. So, amongst all the bickering in congress and the White House, Iran has now managed to progress its nukes AND shore itself up against potential attacks. Home run.

Likely more of the secret Donnie-Vlad-Mullahs deal to reduce Western oil capacity so Iran and Russia can increase their share.

No doubt discussed during the many Donnie-Vlad meetings with no US interpreters....

A war with Iran will cut off all crude oil shipments from the Persian golf. It would be an energy crisis of biblical proportions. Where will Japan get the crude oil and lpg to run our nation? Our economy will crash and burn.

The current US government seems hell bent on starting another war even when the Houthi rebels (of Yemen) claimed responsibility for the attack. Trump and his revolving door of idiots are just creating more and more major problems for the world. The more you read and learn, the more you realize that the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel are the main warmongers on this planet. Some Americans don't want to believe it because it's too embarrassing and shameful to admit, but a growing number in the US know it to be true.

Yemen’s civil war has taken a dramatic turn after Iranian-backed Houthi rebels killed the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, punishing him for switching sides and seeking peace with Saudi Arabia.

2017, tbis was the news reported by trusted news sites

So I have to conclude the same Iranian backed Houthi rebels did it

Iran is really trying to stir the pot again, they just can’t help themselves.

Sigh.

I will never allow my belief or likeness of someone take over my ability to reason.

It is a complete waste of one's brain cells.

False Flag Attack is no doubt! After John Bolton's fired from white house, someone still wanna an attack on Iran!

5 ( +6 / -1 )

one week you dont believe intelligence agencies the next you do when it matches your narrative how convenient...

No, I do geopolitically usually, domestically, that’s an entirely different thread.

Is there a Republican in the White House?

BINGO! Welcome to another Middle East War....

They just can't help themselves...

Now we have a Republican President who is also a Moron...dangerous times....

No evidence Iran involved.  Entirely possible it is Houthis from Yemen.  They have every reason to be targeting Saudi soft spots.  Like money.  Saudis have had this coming for quite some time.

this idiot is so happy being Israel's tool

Donny the Orange Clown and Buffoon in chief needs to sit down and shut up while the adults deal with this.

America, please keep him out of it.

Once again, we are where we're at because of another really dumb Trump administration foreign policy decision.

……….. I don't know the image of Colin Powell holding a small bottle keeps popping up inside my head.....

@serendipitous1

the more you realize that the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel are the main warmongers on this planet.

Perhaps the false flag attack on the tanker did not work so they are having another try?

It's depressing how easy the American population are whipped up into a frenzy by Fox News and prepared not to back whatever warring the leaders want but even go out and die for them, and continue to sponsor Israel to the tune of billions every year ... $10.5 million per day, over $3.8bn per year.

The concern about Saudi goes further than just warring, it's also the vast and expensive "hearts and minds" campaign promoting it's own brand of backwards fundamentalist Islam, the Salafi/Wahhabi tradition, internationally.

It appears to create the foundations for terrorism and radicalism that more secular branches don't.

Let the Saudis handle this. After all, they sure have plenty of weapons.

As usual, the media just not understand or does not want to understand the difference between political theater and reality. Trumps rethoric is political, as is that of the Iranians. Unlike the consumers of CNN, they are not stupid.

Count your blessings it is Trump in the white house and not one of the neolib/neocon warmongers like Hillary Clinton.

"There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!"

Trump also added: "But if you ask me, I think Obama and Hillary are behind this - they're just trying to hurt my election chances - sad, sad..... And Sleepy Joe, he's in with them too...and the Squad, you know they're involved. I'll be directing the Attorney General to launch an investigation into their complicity."

Sure, Trump understands reality - he hosted an inane reality TV show for 9 years. Maybe he can pick Meat Loaf for his next NSA...

Unlike the consumers of CNN, they are not stupid.

What we really have to worry about here is Trump conspiring with the Saudis and Israelis to create some type of "Wag the Dog" moment with Iran. He's seen the Fox News polls that show him down double digits to the Dem front runners. He knows his only chance is to create a national security emergency that he could try to use to rally the country around him.

We know that all the Sunni countries in the Middle East and Israel want Iran diminished - but as usual, they want the US to do the fighting.

Don't let Donnie run another scam on the American people...and don't let the Repubs drag us into another Middle East War...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

trump is a dangerous moron, he started this

Started what? American support for Saudi meddling in the civil war in Yemen is from the Obama era. Blaming Iran for any sort of a fighting or attacks that happen in the Middle East is as old as the Reagan administration, maybe even back to Carter. What exactly is Trump being blamed for this time? A rattle he chucked from his crib at 11 months old caused a butterfly effect of war mongering?

Donny's lapdog Pompeo wants to act like the man, now that Bolton is gone.
